I have issues with jumping and cannot do anything with jumping involved. Feeling that Jumping should be a option ,not compulsory to complete a event. Its feels discriminatory that their is no other option to complete this event. Some say its easy but others say its hard ,why is this event separating the community. Its a RPG style game not a console game.
Yea, I am sad about it. Frustration and sadness, and oh so very bored with doing my daily and logging off, and hoping…maybe NEXT time there WON’T be a jumping puzzle.
Oh well, good luck guys! As I said…maybe next update.
I don’t think that getting to the top can be even considered as jumping puzzle. You have only 3 jumps (which are painfuly easy) to do, the rest is just automatic transporation with lightning element.
I do not jump. I have hands that are deformed and crippled, and have yet to find a way to make my hands work with any jumps even with assists with any predictablity. I have not managed to even make the first jump in the Zephyr Sanctum, despite trying and dying and losing lots and lots of cash waypointing to get up.
I was kind of hoping there was something for open world people this time around.
So the short answer is yes, you must be able to jump.
Thanks.
So, if you do not do jumping puzzles, you cannot vote and therefore cannot participate in this update? Am I correct?
I have played since BWE1, and I remember actually getting up during the downed state frequently. Now, unless someone is close by, I never rally——-on ANY character. Downed is just a slower death, but death is always the outcome.
Please, just remove this worthless state and kill us outright when our health falls to 0. It is wasted code and effort.
Also, in future when you nerf something for PVP or WvW please keep in mind those changes may not work in PvE.
Learn to play and deal with it.
What was the purpose of your reply, Fox Soul, other than meanness and an attempt to belittle another human being?
I am certain that you have no idea if I can play or not, since you do not know me.
Again, my post is to ask that if downed skills have been nerfed beyond usefulness, then the code is just game clutter and should be removed entirely.
If they have been nerfed and the devs desire to keep it in game then if death is the “working as intended” result, what exactly is the point?
I still rally quite frequently when in both WvW and PvE, even while running around solo. It’s all a matter of can you use your downed skills to get yourself out of trouble before the clock runs out.
In PvE, when I notice that I’m about to die, I’ll purposely leave an enemy almost dead so that I can rally off of him when I enter the downed state. There are plenty of ways to utilize the downed state and in my opinion it’s working just fine.
Well, as I said I have played for more than a year now, given I began playing in BWE1, and I felt I had a pretty good grasp of my downed skills and used them to rally quite frequently, however in the past 3 weeks, I have yet to rally more than once.
Have I suddenly become inept? Or has something changed? My guess would be the latter.
0/10, worse trolling of the day award for you.
And your reply is a perfect example of why I (and most people) never post in these forums about anything.
This was not a “troll” (what an overused and therefore completely useless word this has become) It was a report of what I perceive to be a “bug” in the “bug forum”.
Have fun and carry on.
I have played since BWE1, I have gotten 1 exotic drop exactly one day before I had played the game a year.
Months ago I just began to pretend that drops in the game did not exist at all, so that I would not be sad while playing.
Thanks, Navi, I thought it can’t be just me, so came to the forums and entered “oakheart” in the search I got nothing.
Mod, this can be merged or closed.
Are you using your mouse wheel to zoom out?
I tried a search for this bug, and wonder if it is just me, but where there should be veteran oakhearts I am seeing “ghostly” oakhearts, instead. Are they spawning with the wrong model? Or am I the only one seeing these?
Also, they hit and hurt like Vets.
For my own Maguuma completion I had to go to Brisban and get Aurora’s remains.
And in Mount Maelstrom I had to get Deidre’s steps, which must be accessed by portal when you kill one of the “keepers”
The exploration (not map completion) includes areas or "neighborhoods. Look for areas on the maps that still look fuzzy. There are some areas you may not get even looking for waypoints and poi. So especially corners that are fuzzy that do not have those close by.
I am talking about exploration achievement here, and not map completion.
This post will probably be locked, or deleted or incur me an infraction, but I had to get this off my chest.
I am a helpful person. If you ask a question in map chat, and I can answer it, I will, and I will go out of my way to help you, even by doing the busy work of doing a /wiki to make sure the information I give you is correct. I do this especially if I am in an area that is populated by people who could be new to the game, i.e., a starter area or Lion’s Arch.
Today someone mentioned something about the AOE pick up in map chat and I had previously read the bug forum about it, and after the developer clarification in the thread, was able to get mine working correctly. So I answered the questioner with the information I had found out from the forums, and what had worked for me.
Unfortunately the questioner was one of those people who is never satisfied with any answer, and is really just wanting to gripe. To one of my answers (Not to spam the designated key bind button on the new AOE pickup) they said: I KNOW. And I replied “I do not know what you know, I do not read minds, unfortunately.” I realize that sounds mean, but the “I KNOW” statement is kind of a pet peeve of mine. I hear people say this when someone is trying to help by giving information, and it is really quite silly and in the end, transparently childish. “Don’t make me look stupid!” is what is actually being said.
There is no way for someone helping you in game to know your level of knowledge or expertise and to anticipate beforehand what you do and do not know about a subject you have asked a question about, and to edit their responses so that you do not FEEL stupid. (Your feelings are entirely your own, and although I am polite and friendly in game, and go out of my way to help, I cannot also make it so that everything I say is pleasant to YOUR particular ears.)
Personally, I do not think people who ask questions are stupid, in fact quite the opposite, most of the really intelligent people I know, are those who have asked questions all their lives and gotten many answered. It is these same people with the answers that I go to when I have a question! Of course you do not know this about me, either. You may just assume I am another jerk in a video game.
So as I whispered to the guy an apology if he thought I was being blunt or rude, he blocked me. He may have even reported me. So I took a screen shot of the entire conversation. Just in case. (There was nothing that I said that I believe could be construed by Anet as anything other than helpful, but my paranoia lies deep…)
But I still maintain: No one can KNOW what you KNOW unless they are a mind reader, or have known you a long long long time….and not 3 minutes of chat in a video game.
And Anet, if he reported me, I do have screen shots of the conversation. What he said to me in a whisper, I could have reported HIM for.

I have liked the balance so far, although I have only played two of my characters to see how it has affected them.
My ranger – I like the change in Pet Damage. I have noticed I can now use the dodge skills, I do not stand and chat while my pet kills things FOR me, and surprisingly, my drops are better on my ranger than they were before. It may be my imagination, but I had long suspected that my pet damage was not being counted towards my overall damage done, or my kill ratio as far as drops were concerned. I also like some of the changes made to Nature. My ranger is actually better now than before. I am not one to want to play a ranger like a warrior, however.
My Guardian: Again, the changes have benefited my guardian, who is built as support but can kick buttsky when needed. I did have to switch some traits out, and I do wish that Anet, like City of Heroes did, would give us a “free respec” when they have changes that affect so many skills. I know, I know, its a piddley sum….but would be nice to have say….two complete trait changes free for say 2 weeks after a major skill balance update.
These chests now show up in Korean letters.
Does not work for me.
This began happening to me after the patch that removed culling in wvw. Also horrendous lag everyday. Sometimes entire areas take forever to completely load in, Textures are missing, I walk on air, or water until something renders under my feet. The collisions are there, just not the textures for a while. Sound seems to be the last to load in.
Add “Knowing every Cook recipe” to my long list of uncompleted things in GW2. I just learned that there are recipes that only drop from the molten chest at the end of the dungeon.
Sigh.
For those of you who believe that all of us who do not like dungeons or PUGs should quit the game immediately (the standard response in this forum if you dare to complain).
There are many open world areas that have no “updates” since launch.
In fact, I could say MOST of the open world areas have had NOTHING added since launch.
Flame and Frost was a big exception. Open world people were, in essence, suckered into the story because it was …..GASP open world! Now we are stuck with yet another achievement that cannot be completed UNLESS we do a PUG and a dungeon.
Every update has had a dungeon. But for open worlders——nothing—-until Flame and Frost—-and for people who love a good story, it is as if someone stole a good book when you were at the last chapter.
And No, I have not done my personal story, I probably never will. I am at Arah. It is just another thing that I will never complete. The list grows ever longer.
The Living Story died.
I too am disappointed that yet another thing in the game will go into my “Incomplete forever” column.
Back to doing my daily and putzing around….
In GW1 we had things that only came around once a year. Some of them we all looked forward to. I also loved weekend events that were just double drops, or special this n thats.
I can see that if SAB is a once a year event, then It will be on the top of my list of events not to miss in future.
I am so happy about this event…I am tempted to drop cash into the game again. Oh my.
Absolutely hilarious and super fun. Great job Anet!!!
It would be better to remove it than to nerf it to the ground and make it useless. I understand why they nerfed the order of whisper kits because people could use them over and over without a cooldown. However the rest of these things I don’t see a real good reason to make them this useless.
Well, its kinda a sad fact of life in online games. Cheaters are there to tie developers brains in knots.
Developers then get this strange myopic fixation it seems, and go around chasing their tails, and plugging holes in imaginary dikes and regular players get punished for stuff they never even considered doing, and in the end the cheaters win, because they just find a new way to cheat and the developers are still off plugging another hole, and the regular players are long gone—-and the nifty stuff that did nifty things has been nerfed into uselessness.
If there were a way to teach and to reward honor in games….and if you could get the developers to chase that goal for a while, then the gaming world would be all the better for it.

Anything that can be exploited will be exploited.
Anytime something is exploited, punish everyone for the transgression.
Dems da rules.
Just so you know The Deldrimor Mace you get in the HOM does look like a mace, and is huge on a Norn.
Make it like GW1, Title on mouse over only.
Does this mean Hello is also not allowed? What about Hellenistic? How about words that contain hell within them but not at the beginning?
Bombshell?
kittenleshells? Oh my, to think even a sea mollusk might offend!
[edit: The word above is in an old and very familiar Nursery Rhyme!)
You may have to walk on eggshells around here, or you will get a cyber shellacking that is my opinion in a nutshell.
(And my guess is it is the account name and not the Hell name that got someone’s undies in a wad)

Just got kicked 3 times from the Hatchery instance. Guess I will wait a few days to play, let the overworked hamster get some rest.
Has anyone else noticed the changes in the Terrain? At first I thought it was just me, maybe I had forgotten this or that rock formation…
But there are some MASSIVE changes this time, so there is no mistaking it.
The entry to Diessa from Wayfarers on one side is almost collapsed. Other entries have widened.
There are huge rock formations in wayfarers now near the vents.
Also the refugee camp in Lion’s Arch is bigger, although not cleaner. Do ya think the Consortium could afford to put up a couple more good tents, and hire someone to pick up the trash?
Thank you very much from the bottom of my whiney and jaded little heart.
Truly.
Not sure what the issue people find with these banners.
They’re not really harming any one from what I can tell. All it really seems is people are just too sensitive responding with:
“OMG some thing is different in Lion’s Arch! They are assaulting my sensitive eyes!”
When they block the doors to the bank, the Black Lion Shop or build a small cube around a spawn point in front of any waypoint, or Asura gate that blocks you in, then it is more than “Oy, my eyes!”
If it can be exploited, it will be exploited.
If it is annoying and can be exploited, it will be exploited til it is removed from the game.
Is there an official statement someplace on why there are now Chinese Lettering showing up on many items?
Someone in Lion’s Arch said that “Guild Wars 2 is hacked” and then linked items into chat, and told us to check ours. I did check mine and several of mine have these letters. Others say the characters say: China Was Here.

What is it?
Still never had an exotic drop ever. Have played since BWE1. Rares for me are perhaps 1, once a week now, which is better than they were. From launch to about a month ago, I had never even seen a rare drop.
The only exotics I have ever received were from high end map completions.
Today I would have been happy with one yam. But there were no “root vegetable” nodes to be found in Haranthi today for some reason.
There are quite a few, actually.
Things I do not/have not done, and will probably never do.
Lost Shore
Winter JP
PVP
Most Dungeons
Fractals
Save and Grind for a Legendary
Finish My Personal Story
Guild Missions
Keg Brawl
Many/Most Jumping Puzzles
I just do not do these things. I still play and have fun everyday. I may gripe about loot (and my own poor luck with rNg) but I just ignore the drops and do stuff I enjoy doing. Mostly exploring, and doing events I have never done.
I have not had any issue finding the items in the personal story yet.
First, I want to say that I really enjoy the little icon art on our items. It is a small thing, but I really enjoy looking at them. I suppose it is a general love of miniatures, but I would love to know who the artist(s) is/are who do these. I have also noticed some new icons on older stuff, and I just find that nifty as well.
I would also like to commend the artist and the physics of the blowing prairie grass and overall look of Deidre’s Hidden garden in Maelstrom’s. Living in the plains as I do, one of my favorite things to see in RL is prairie grass blowing in the wind. (it also makes a special rustling sound that is almost as comforting to a country girl like me as a train whistle at night in the distance…)
The grass on the hills in Deidre’s Hidden Garden took my breath away. Just beautiful and so well done!
I actually get more chocolate from separatists in the Fields of Ruin than any place else.
I take a screenshot if I can to get the name, add the bot to my blocked list, then report them for botting from my blocked list.
This is also happening to me a lot since the patch. Mostly on merchants for me. If I find another F key prompt close by then I can usually return and get the merchant’s tag to come up.
I actually would not mind if some of the “Greet” F key prompts go away. My character ain’t that friendly.
I had a bunch of apples and made applesauce a while back. I used this. Anyone who needs food, applesauce is cheap and easy to make.
I turned in the bug on the the pet condition removal not counting as an ally via in game bug report. I confirm it here. It should count. I frequently use my healing spring to remove conditions on my pet, especially since conditions on him count as still being in combat and I am slowed if he is still suffering.
I believe this also may be related to my poor drop rate, my pet’s damage may not count towards my total damage on a mob.
I had this bug as well. Sometimes it helps to enter the actual areas, (which is a pain in the keester, I know) Sometimes when you go to one of the places that has a known “new” waypoint (Ashford and Brisban have new ones related to Guilds) it will update the other maps.
I feel dirtier killing Skritt than ambient creatures, at one point you are trying to save them, the next you are killing them.
Same with Jotun, once you know their history.
Or ogres.
In truth you could become an NPC, stay at home and bake cookies, since if you don’t travel outside the kitchen there is little chance any of these creatures you are out wailing tar on will find their way to your home.
Make sure you cook vegetarian.
Actually for my ambient kills I go into Claypool and kill all the pigs and chickens.
I am waiting to be arrested.

3. Female Dwarf. (None of the female dwarves turned to stone, imho.)
All dwarves did go through the ritual at one point. Females are no exception (if they even exist, but they probably do and maybe even look like the males).
In fact I remember a battle quote by Ogden in gw1 about you probably having already met a female dwarf and don’t know how to diferentiate them. It may be just a joke, but who knows…
It is actually a common joke in RPG games. I often play a female dwarf in tabletop games because they are rare. (As I have said before, I began playing RPG in 1978) This is why I can say with complete confidence that female dwarves would never go through the ritual of turning to stone.
I take it as soon as you are spotted by a mob, you automatically enter combat mode? But you still run at the correct speed, it’s only when you get hit that you slow down somewhat.
I don’t think you’re actually in combat mode until you get hit. Then you slow down and don’t speed up again until enemies have stopped attacking for like 5 seconds. Taking falling damage is similar… you’re put into combat mode for a few seconds, move slower, and don’t regen health automatically.
I have screenshots of myself laying on the ground sleeping waiting for my combat mode to shut off. The longest I have remained in combat mode not even close to anything actually attacking me is greater than 10 minutes. These screenshots with bug reports have been sent in via in-game bug reports.
Works both ways. They don’t run normal speed when you hit them either. It’s combat speed. Keeps things even for combat. If you could just run at normal or buffed speed through mobs…that’s when it would get ridiculous.
So…they are slowed. Slowed to your speed. Which makes sense.
Could you please forward this to the Risen in Orr? I have never seen them slowed by any of my attacks. I have also never seen in film or otherwise Undead that have speed boost on them at all times. Most are lumbering slow creatures. The undead of Tyria seem to have a completely different physiology than any world I have ever read about, or experienced.
I have grandmaster nature magic use spirits unbound to have spirit walk with me. Like Durzilla, I do not summon it all the time, but during big fights and when there are downed people, I pop it up, walk in, hit its rez power on the run and dodge away. This is very handy to do especially if there are huge groups of downed npc in an area with an event that you could not complete without npc help.
I switch up to a spirit build for meta-events in pve and walk around with my spirit buffs. I also have nature’s vengeance so spirits set off their skill on death.
One reason I like a spirit build with spirit movement is for underwater combat. Nothing like swimming with a couple of nice dolphin buffers and a big whale.
