Chilling is completely random. Sometimes it will chill sometimes it is as if it has no sigil whatsoever.

This has nothing to do with its extremely long (IMHO) cool down, it just does not work anymore. I can have my swap weapon put away for an hour and switch and….nothing.

Hour long or more cool down? I don’t think so. I call bug.

I honestly wanted to save it. I kept Gwen’s torn cape and her broken flute in my inventory for 7 years in GW1.

I actually do have the broken flute, torn red cape, stone summit badge, and the preserved red iris in my inventory in GW2 (yes, they all still exist here)

But I was curious as to what the reward was on consumption, so…I ate it. 5000 karma.

I am piping in again on day two to say:

I love the new dailies. I liked the combo one as well, and I like the dodging one too. For all the people who scream about things must be difficult to be challenging to cause this much fuss over learning a new skill, or learning to dodge, of being forced to do something, this thread is hilarious, to say the least.

You do not have to do the daily. You do not have to earn a laurel.

Again it is a laurel. An achievement. There are many that I will never do. As I stated before I never get the monthly because that “forces” me to do wvw or fractals. So, I don’t do it. I don’t get that reward.

and the people complaining about crafting achiement can i ask why you are not complaining about garthering achiement as if your not crafting you have no need to garther to

Gathering and crafting are two different things. Non-crafters often gather materials to sell as a source of income and it doesn’t involve leveling or taking up a craft. Raw materials are usually worth more than refined ones, so if they end up refining their materials before selling them, they’ll ultimately lose money, besides having to do something they don’t enjoy and hadn’t intended to do on the game originally.

I do not intend to do fractals. But it is part of the monthly. Has been for some time. I don’t do jumping, this month the monthly had find jumping puzzles. I don’t do pvp or wvw, but that has been a part of the monthly for some time.

I just do not get the monthly. So some people may not get ONE daily, if they really do not want to craft, then don’t, miss that daily. Like I have always missed the monthly. It is just not achievable for me. I keep hoping that some month down the line, a monthly WILL be doable. I have to wait a whole month for it to change, I don’t mind if there is one day where I may find it …just not my day.

Crafting daily? I do this without fail, everyday. I refine things. I am hopeful that when they introduce guild halls, they will be built. With materials. Get crackin.

Combo Daily? I do this without fail, everyday. I find the combos fun, and require skill and thinking and not just brute force.

Reviving 10 people? I do this, without fail, everyday. If you are really worried about it, go to that village in Kessex where the Krait kill all the villagers. Or Nageling in Diessa, when the giant has appeared, the whole town dies off en masse.

Now lets talk about the MONTHLY which I never get. I don’t grind and I don’t farm, so I don’t do Fractals. I also do not do that much pvp or wvw. So for months I have not received the monthly—- just something on my list of unattainable things—— but many of the same people who are having conniption fits over refining some jute or some copper are the same people who find the monthly achievement “easy”. mmm hmm.

Nalora.7964

I see a lot of gritchy posts, and I am usually one of the ones on a tirade, but so far I have loved every change I have encountered on the new patch/update.

I enjoyed the new dailies, they were not hard to complete (although I did not get to finish them with each new bump) I actually did not have an issue with the Combo Finisher one (as I said in another post, I built my ranger around this skill) The only real problem with the daily was that so few people even knew about Combos, and I assume they just never bothered to read their skills, and to practice them. The “count” of the combo in the daily may have been a tad wonkified, but that was the only thing I noticed.

I love that you fixed the Swamp. This is such a wonderful epic battle, and for so many people who have never seen it, it is a treat! It also gives new people this real feel of the beauty of Guild Wars 2.

I love that you fixed a bunch of my past reported bugs! I feel like maybe all that typing in the little bug window was actually read and acted upon!

I love that you moved the exploited rich ori node.

I love the laurel stuff. I feel like I might actually have something I can DO that will reward me for me just playing the game and not WORKING the game, or gaming the system.

I love the way this update is being implemented. (slowly, and not BOOM omg omg its all befudgled!!!)

So, I feel the love, and I feel my love coming back.

Sigh. The one thing that made me feel “special” was the combo in the daily. I have always done combos. I liked them, I built my ranger around them. I finished this part of the daily with another ranger quickly and taught other people how to do it.

Also I have always particularly loved the combos with guardian/ranger, since they are so strong. (although granted, they are not “kill strikes” on the guardian)

I am ENJOYING the new dailies. If you make the combo even BETTER then I will be double happy.

I do not have them, I will never have them. I am not good at dungeons. Especially dungeons made of twinkied-up mobs that spawn at a rate of kittenroaches in a slum kitchen.

I have one character with exotics, several that will probably never get them. I have hit some kind of eternal plateau in my money making. (although I rarely spend money, I run instead of wp, put on whatever “found” armors I get, and run away run away to avoid armor repair costs. My money sits at the same amount it was a month ago.

So no, I do not believe I will be anything other than mediocre in Guild Wars 2.

The respectful & helpful "I'm unhappy" thread

in Wintersday

Nalora.7964

First, respectfully, I found the art in Wintersday to be profoundly beautiful and well done. The dolls, the toys, the city decorations, the snow, the little icons, everything about the artwork was amazing.

I was a little sad that I did not get everything I wanted, but then that is the way it is at Christmas too, so why not at Wintersday. I am satisfied I came out of it with a few nice things, and that is fine with me.

I had to change my paradigm some from Guild Wars 1, where we hoarded up things we knew we would use the rest of the year, because there weren’t any to hoard.

The overpowered (for me) toys in the gifts around world made me eventually just run from them as evil things, and may have marred me for life on any big bowed covered object.

I also am coming to believe that perhaps games in general have outgrown me, as there is no longer even a modicum of “difficulty scaling” for those, like myself, who are not in it to be the biggest baddest booya around. I guess perhaps this is just the new normal for online gaming: Be Uber or Get out.

But thanks Anet for the pretty shinies. “You can’t always get what you want, but sometimes…you get what you need.” In this case? A big swift winter boot to the rear.

One of my favorite things about Guild Wars is that there is something for everyone. Jumping Puzzles are not my thing. (I have crippled hands, and I cannot do them. Just not possible.) There are many things in real life that are like that as well. Know your limits, use your gifts.

For those who love the jumping puzzles, then keep them in, and do more of them! For those who do not: Know your limits and do other things.

The one thing I do wish there was MORE of in Guild Wars is puzzle-puzzles. Trivia, brain teasers, things you have to use logic and brain power or real strategy to accomplish. Then…I would rule Tyria.

Thats the problem with most people, they want Everything and they want it Now,and they want it for Free and if they dont, they start screaming and kicking.

I do not want everything now or free. I do, however, want something spiffy every now and then. By spiffy I mean I go “Wow!” when I get an unidentified dye. I am not, however, satisfied or even happy when I come close to dying in battle and get a “brittle bone”.

Dear Arenanet,

You have given me the best Wintersday gift you could give, and it is not even one you may have known you were giving me.

I believe in you again.

Wintersday is only 2 days old and it reminds me of those great Wintersday of Guild Wars 1, and yet has so much more. I am having a blast. I am keeping a list of things that have knocked my socks off and stuff I find just super spiffy. So far it is all running smooth for me, and I am pleased as punch.

I love the little “flying saucers” dropping magic snow. The effect is amazing looking.
I love that we can gift exchange and get what we want. I love the joke of the old socks, (even though for years I asked for socks for Christmas, and got them) sweaters and hats.
I love the look of the new Black Lion tool icons.
The first Toymaster Tixx dungeon was nifty and well balanced. Hard, but not so hard that I felt you were trying to torture me.
I love the tiny ventarri (though they can be brutal). And the extra stuff they drop.
I love the balance of quiet solo activities and group play.
I love the sound the little mini snowman makes.
The art of all the decorations is just amazing.

But thank you most for giving me back my belief that Guild Wars and Arenanet are some awesome game developers. I always say to people: Guild Wars is my game. It is the only one I really want to play. You have given my game back to me.
