I do not know if this is new as of the patch as I did not see it in the notes, but thank you so very much from the bottom of my little explorer heart for the changes to the map that show progress towards completion on the large map.

Also thanks for the expansion of collectibles in storage.

And the eye candy of the decorations.

So far, despite my deaths from uber-skritt from the bowels of something-god-awful, it is running very smoothly and I look forward to getting my Barbie Dream House this year.

I went to one marked with a peppermint, it gave me nothing but death by skritt which were overpowered for my area. I killed 50 other things and got nothing…nada…not even a “bo staff” or “charr carving”

I am really beginning to think this game does not like me.

I love crafting but it does not pay. It is fun and interesting, but they need to seriously revamp it to make it worth the developing effort (it is very well done as far as recipes, “fun” and the looks of icons, especially the food) But it does not pay, and takes entirely too many of everything (which leads to farming and grinding, alas) for stuff, or farming and grinding for gold to pay for stuff.

You are also at a serious disadvantage because your main competitor is the developer, who can, of course, make niftier stuff. The armor class for example, of a tailored item is a full 10 points lower than the armor class of a developer item of the same type, and so what is the point?

I do it because it is interesting to me, kind of like chemistry or physics. I hope someday they will make it worthwhile as a real part of the economy.

None. You are competing with the Developers who make better stuff. Someday I hope they revamp crafting to make it worthwhile, but currently it is just a nifty thing in game that does not pay off monetarily. Sad but true.

I almost sent you a private message saying thanks for appreciating my sense of humor, but then thought: “I bet she gets a kajillion private messages a day.”

So, thanks for getting my sense of humor. I am not always whiney and truculent. Really.

And…I appreciate all you do, and have done over the years to make Guild Wars a nifty place.

Asurans have all the extra cash, since they own all the waypoints and charge an arm and a leg all year to use them from every player. Where do you think all that money is going?

Perhaps someone should have told the songwriters of “Santa Claus is coming to Town” that it was too explicit as well.

On the Facebook page they said the script is running and to have patience. There are many to get to, so give it time! Pretend Santa is on his sleigh, but has not made it to your chimney yet.

I was just coming to the forums to give my thanks as well. I did not do the event, everything was so bugged and lagged I could not complete any of it, so rather than have days of frustration and sadness, I opted out of the whole thing.

I am happy for those who got their reward today, however, they have more patience than this cranky old redheaded woman.

A work around that works when you get that is to switch pets. At least it works for me.

I have had this with my mesmer when she teleports away. Sometimes I have walked across the map and still been in combat. I have stood in that state at times with nothing attacking me, and me not attacking for greater than 10 minutes. Once I had to leave the map before it would make me in the “not attacking” state.

Is this new? If you are downed with a condition on you, then that condition is permanent unless you manage to get up (not often for me, since I cannot overcome some conditions before I am killed.)

But even if you manage to get up, the condition stays on your character forever and ever amen unless you use a purge skill? (They lose their “timing”)

Why not give the mobs Mighty instant permanent death goggles of doom and kill players with a sideways glance?

They look like pigeons on a ledge now when they walk. We should have sacks of bread crumbs.

Please consider having some months that do not require dungeons or WvW as part of the monthly achievement for those of us who do neither with any regularity.

I have never done the Fractals dungeon, nor do I really wish to, due mostly to my personal aversion to anything “jumping” (my hands are deformed and crippled, and I have a hard time with the interface, no matter what I set my buttons to. It takes me a lot of time to jump, and It would be ludicrous for me to hold up a team with my inept jumping)

I do not go into WvW much because I also feel pretty inept. I am pretty casual and do not take things seriously enough for those folks.

Its the economy. Many companies are doing “realignments”.

I had one 58: error disconnect this hour, but I played for 2 hours non stop without lag or disconnects until the 58. There was no lag with it, just a very prompt disconnect from log in server with error screen. I was able to log back in without issues, and to continue playing for half an hour. I got my daily done.

I have been relatively stable today. No disconnects or lag except for early this morning (around 7 am CST, one short episode, but was a waypoint crash, not the lag/disconnect)

Playing for a couple hours just now was a great relief and much fun! Hope it continues. I did nothing on my end.

I bought a new router and modem when this began.

I have done everything on the Support page for the various “disconnect” codes. (they are ever changing since I was blessed with this issue):

I have flushed my dns using the method provided in a previous lag/disconnect thread.

I have reset my modem, restarted my computer numerous times.

I have played with and without my firewall.

I have verified and repaired my files twice.

The only solution seems to be to uninstall the game or get used to playing like you are on a 2400 baud modem on a BBS playing a MUD.

I have spent 15 to 20 minutes in the limbo state, thinking: Wow, is the game losing that many players? Then suddenly get booted from the game, log back into the same spot and had 20 people around me, then hit the lag again, they all disappear, and of course I get the fire all weapons! (as they spin in their recharge state) and everyone poofs, and they say I have poofed. Obviously the game server has no clue where I am or what I am doing.

I was hoping this update was my cure. Nope, level 39 guardian, taken down in lag by a level 14 bandit and his poison that strangely stuck like glue for 3 minutes. I saw all the pretty numbers go off at once. Someone rezzed me and I was still poisoned. Oy.

And …it cost me a get out of dodge waypoint charge and an armor repair.

I have taken to waiting through the obvious “disconnect” between my client (what I am seeing on screen) and what the servers are receiving. I have had some interesting things happen. (although the lag deaths are not fun.)

I have had entire events disappear (as you describe) disconnect in the middle of an event and then get back to find the event is “gone” —-This in a matter of seconds to relog. I have explored entire empty zones, no spawns, no people, no players and when I reached waypoints, even the shiny waypoints are not actually there. I have run along side people in my team invisible to them, for long distances, then finally disconnect and been at the point where they were, or thrown back to some distance behind them.

I have lost materials while lagging while crafting. I have sold items that remained in my inventory. I could see someone smarter than me exploiting this, but for me, it just makes me afraid to do any transactions. (including buying gems)

I have also noticed that the more you use black lion, the worse your lag becomes.

It is interesting to me that the longer the server lag/disconnect issues go on, the more broken events appear, it is as if the lag on the server side begins to cascade and affect other things as well.

When the servers are reset, events are all working, and few people experience the Lag-festival. Then days pass and more events become broken, more people have lag and disconnect, even more events become broken, and the whole system is in this big hot mess of unplayable ick.

Yea, I am about ready to uninstall and leave the game. Too bad. All that work by so many great artists and developers, only to be completely undone by lousy servers.

Yep, the constant crashes, the annoying lag, the aggravation of a game that does not work.

I have flushed my dns, I have done so many things on my end that it is getting to the point that the only option is to uninstall guild wars and leave it behind as a game that just is not worth the cost or aggravation.

Today it is horrendous. Get disconnected every minute to minute and a half. Unplayable.

I had a great 4 day run there where I could actually play the game. Now it is back to lag and disconnects. So sad. They really need to have a look at their servers and do server maintenance once a week or something. I am losing confidence in the this game daily.

After having a glorious 4 day run of no rubberband lag, stuttering, and disconnects. This morning I am back to unplayable.

Funny. Everytime I think I may give in and buy some gems, the game becomes unstable and I change my mind.

In the spirit of things, could we find out who is the richest player in game and charge them more for their waypoints and then pass that on to me, a poor player, so that I pay less?

This happened to me in GW1 a lot, and generally a verify (repair) of the files would clear it up. Sometimes I would have to defragment the gw.dat file.

This used to happen to me in Guild Wars 1 on occasion, Verifying (repairing) files usually fixed it right up. I also found that if I defragmented just the gw.dat file it cleared up.

This is a perfect capture of what is happening to me. Sometimes I can get every skill to go into its “cycling” animation, sometimes when the servers finally reconnect to my avatar I am living, sometimes I am dead, but all skills fire off at the same time. Sometimes it finally completely disconnects me and I get a variety of Guild Wars 2 “error codes” including 7:, 48: and 58.

I have not had any issues last night or this morning, but I have not logged on any of my characters but my main. I am afraid I might board the laggy lag lag disconnect merry go round again for a few weeks. And frankly, I am dizzy.

This is exactly what I was experiencing til last night. I guess it was a fluke but I was able to play yesterday. Great video of the issue!

I am not getting the stuttering lag anymore, or the 7: or 48: error, am able to play for greater than an hour, but now I get 58: error with some regularity. I have tried the fixes for all of these that are listed on the support page, and have the -allow 58 fix in my shortcut properties as well, but it does not fix the 58 error.

I am grateful that I can play again at all to be honest. Thank you engineers if you did anything on the server side. You are my heroes.

I was just able to stay in the game for greater than an hour without a disconnect, error, or lag of any kind. Was it a fluke? Did you guys fix it? Oh, I so hope it is gone forever!

I did nothing more on my side other than to log on and try it. I was still crashing/lagging/disconnecting this morning.

Someone needs to put some aluminum foil on the rabbit ears.

I have only done 3 dungeons since the beginning of the game. (AC, CM and that firey thing from he-doubletoothpicks)

I have never had a good drop in any of them. Grey, white or blue. I did get a pirates hat…twice. Joy.

I think I may be jinxed.

In Guild Wars 1 we would keep a stack of charr carvings in our inventory and drop one on the ground periodically as a joke to show people the GREAT drops we were getting. Can’t even do that now. I do, however, show off my [ROCK] on occasion.

1. A way to play Guild Wars 2 again without crashing like I did from April 28 to Nov. 15.

2. Bug fixes. Lots.

3. Free Waypoint travel for all who have unlocked 100% map exploration achievement.

4. Great drops always. For the players. Make the game fun everyday.

By bad, Wasabi Kitty means: full of people who get engrossed in really cool artwork and hold up the team.

And uh…that would be me.

Although as Robert Hrouda points out, times are subject to how a team works together, etc. I would have to say that one hour average time.

This would give some leeway between 30 – 90 minutes.

I just crashed out using a waypoint in town at Divinity’s reach. I had to ctrl alt del to close Guild Wars 2.

Me, and thousands of others have been asking for something, anything, to make the game playable for weeks now.

No real answer has been forthcoming, other than not to play Guild Wars 2.

I am still getting the same disconnect errors.

Almost 3 weeks and counting.

I have tried to find a rhyme or reason for it, but there is none that is immediately apparent. It does have to do with packet loss, the game server loses my “placement in the world” —-

I notice it at once if I am on my ranger, because my pet is standing whereever the game servers have lost me. If I log out and log back in. (not log out to desktop) it will pick me up where my pet was standing.

I notice it happens more when I am killing many things at once. Although this is not always the case. I have died so many times trying to play and having to repair my armor or just waypoint out ANYWHERE that I am fast going broke.

To date to fix this issue, I have:

Restarted my computer, modem too many times to count.
Verified files and ran repair three times over 3 weeks.
Cleared my dns twice.
Ran the game with and without my firewall. (no change)
Set up ports in windows and my virus scanner.
Checked all drivers.
Replaced the modem.
Called the cable company and had them reset modem from their end.

The first key to good problem solving is to find the common denominator in the issue and check there. The common denominator here is Guild Wars 2.

I logged on this morning, as usual, to see if the issue has been resolved. I disconnected twice with the notorious and long standing 7: error.

The second time the game crashed on trying to use a waypoint in town.

A search of these forums will find thousands of people having the same issue I am having. And yet it is miraculously my computer’s fault. scratches head

Yes, I can play Guild Wars 1.
I am playing in the Central US.
I play at various times, morning and evening, it has not bearing on my disconnects, as it happens anytime I play.
This issue never happened to me prior to the Lost Shores content.

Daily for more than 2 weeks:

Try to play Guild Wars 2. Get same error/freezing crash.
Check Forums for new “solution”
Crickets.

Still crashing, game unplayable today. 11/27/2012 Crashes began after “Lost Shores” update. Appropriately named.

I am sooooo tired of this issue. I am so tired of it. I wish they would fix it. I do not mind dying in battle but to die by lag and then to be charged for it is just…maddening.

My impression of Guild Wars 2 has been less than premier since the beginning of the game, at least with regards to support. I played the original Guild Wars for 7 years plus some, and only had one issue, but perhaps I should have taken that as a warning, because after 2 years of trying to get it resolved, I finally just gave up. I will not go into the details because it would merely recall the numerous times I tried to get them to read what was actually written, but instead was put in the hopper of canned responses.

This time around, I paid for the Collector’s Edition, (150 dollars) and then was locked out of my account on launch, due to the “hacking” fiasco, that actually never compromised my account, nor did I ever get any explanation for locking me out of my account. It took them 11 days to get to my ticket, and finally allow me into the game, I missed out on my promised “head start” that came with my purchase, they gave me nothing to replace or compensate me for that loss.

My support account is completely messed up, and I tried for 2 months to get that resolved, and finally gave up on that as well. I have no way to reach support with a “ticket” anymore because of this.

I have been “infracted” twice on these forums and have tried to get a response from support (through direct mail) on those as well, and I get form letters and then silence.

Now I cannot stay in the game due to disconnects, (along with thousands of other people) and keep getting the response that it is something on my side. My computer works fine as long as I do not try to play Guild Wars 2. I do not think they care if I play the game or not. They have my money, I have …nothing to show for it.

I have seen numerous bugs in the game (duly reported) that have remained in the game for months now.

There is no clear “Known Issues” list that one can refer to, and no idea what their priorities are in regards to various issues that are causing many people to throw their hands up in disgust and merely leave the game.

Support and communication would go a long way, but sadly, both are lacking here. It causes people to worry that perhaps there is no future to the game, and they are already writing it off as a loss.

This weekend was horrendous for the number of people affected by constant disconnects. Hopefully someone will fix it, or at least tell us there is nothing they can do so we can uninstall.
