as if it would change anything. he believes he is the most important person on planet earth and only his opinion counts.
Are you sure you are not speaking about yourself ? Because then it would fit.
It is you, who has problem to understand that there is significant portion of playerbase who don’t want WoW style raiding not because of difficulty, but because of time commitment it brings. For you it might be win, for others end. Win – win for ANet ? Definetly not !
where did i say i want WoW style raiding?
and your post can be easily turned around.
its you who has a problem to understand that a significant portion of the player base wants challenging content.
look, if its optional content with optional rewards and without a gear treadmill you wont be forced to play it, you wont be forced to rush it for better gear. so where exactly is your problem?
when 100% of the game is easy and little bit of content could be made for those who want challenge, why are you complaining? where is the time commitment?
why is it right when you are complaining and why is it wrong when people are complaining because the game is lacking challenge?
So now all exciting skins are locked behind 5 man doing 10 Lupis .. or even weapons
that do 50 percent more damage so that you can beat 20 Lupis in the next harder encounter.
nobody was talking about a gear treadmill.
and how could “all” exiting skins be locked behind a raid?
one thing i dont understand is why you have such a big problem with raids but on the other hand you dont complain about legendary weapon prizes for PvP tournaments.
TL;DR Raiding is about more than upping the party size, it is a true team effort that requires organization and effort from everyone to gain the rewards deserving of that time and effort. I don’t know if anet would actually want to implement this if their true target is casual players.
I also simply don’t see it working here without trinity .. at least not that it would either
still be just a zerg-fest .. or they just add so unfair mechanisms to it that it would
only be beatable by a really small amount of players.
decrease the autoattack damage of bosses and give them more abilities/focus on the mechanics behind the boss fight = no need for a trinity.
and what exactly is “unfair”? is unfair something that is too difficult for you?
why cant there be content for every type of player?
look i made something for you guys.
the first picture shows gw2 at the moment.
the second picture shows gw2 with the addition of raids.
where is the problem now?

if tougher content gets added I’ll just resign myself to never seeing it since rangers aren’t hardcore enough to take part.
this is false. rangers are just as good as other professions. only necro is lacking.
. . . yeah, can you please copy and forward to everyone who still thinks rangers only exist in “bearbow” format? Thanks. I’ve stopped doing PUG work mostly due to the aforementioned attitude.
And I’d bet you a shiny gold doubloon if we had raids added, rangers would be less welcome to come along than warriors unless there was a specific need for something they have.
dont PUG…. PUGs arent very smart.
and rangers will be needed. for raids you want every possible buff. spotter and frostspirit!
as if it would change anything. he believes he is the most important person on planet earth and only his opinion counts.
Hearing this from someone who wants exclusive content/rewards that only maybe 1% of all players can beat .. sounds a little funny.
i want content. i dont care at all about rewards. i dont have a single legendary because you dont get them for skillful play, i spend most of my time soloing dungeons and investing more gold than i earn. seriously i couldnt care less about rewards.
but other people do care about it.
and this post is again egoistic. 100% of the content in this game is made so even the worst person can play through it. but there is NOTHING for the people who want challenge.
its insulting when you talk bad about your “1%” (where do you even get that number from?) when there is literally nothing for people who are not satisfied with content that can be completed by pressing 1.
if tougher content gets added I’ll just resign myself to never seeing it since rangers aren’t hardcore enough to take part.
this is false. rangers are just as good as other professions. only necro is lacking.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
beldin everyone knows by now that you hate everything that could be just a little bit of a challenge. everyone knows you prefer to afk all day in lions arch instead of playing together with other people (well actually you play together with other people, but only when there is the option to let them carry you). maybe you are lacking social skills or you are still living together with your mom at the age of 50. i dont know whats wrong with you. but no matter what you do and no matter how much nonsense you write, its a fact that people have wishes for challenging group content. like it or dont.
but stop being so egoistic and posting nonsense in every thread.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
- The nature of damage mitigation in GW2 works against difficulty. Increasing the damage done by mobs beyond the 1-3 hit downs I see regularly is meaningless if a player can avoid the hit.
avoiding damage or using other active defense besides dodges such as blocks, reflects and other stuff like that is difficult and a challenge.
facetanking stuff is beyond boring and not challenging at all.
@bearhugger the defense and utlity a player can bring comes from your traits, weapons and utlity skills in gw2.
its not damage, damage, damage. every optimal PvE build gives up damage in order to have more utility and stuff like that.
i dont understand how both events are challenging. just look at the wurm. the wurm is based on 1 + 1 = 2 or run from A to B. its not complex at all. the only challenge there is the chat between the commanders to tell each other when they are ready.
You obviously speak without knowing anything. Do the wurm with gw2community and you’ll see how wrong you are.
The wurm is a raid in the open world. Anet is hiring a raid designer in order to have more megabosses ideas and speed up the creation process. I doubt there is anything to add.
10-men insanced raids will be broken even faster than dungeons. Look at what a party of 5 is already able to do in dungeons. Imagine the firepower of a party of 10 coordinated players. Anet is clearly not trying to build this type of content.
just for your info, i was part of desolations world first wurm kill.
i can only tell you one thing that is certain.
if the wurm was instanced, good guilds would have killed it within a few hours for the first time.
and yes, as one of the best PvE players in this game i dont know anything.
there is a very big, like really big, difference between organized raiding guilds + raid content and open world content that is made so everyone can succeed.
system demons in datascape in wildstar is a good raid boss. and the world first only took 41 days. 41 days of wiping with a guild full of experienced raider, who are sitting in teamspeak and know exactly what they are doing.
now compare that to tequatl and the wurm.
running in circles and filling stuff with colors, or picking up a harpoon gun to shoot the wurm and deal dps from time to time is far from challenging and complex.
im not saying the open world content is bad. its good for what it was meant to be. but it wouldnt be any challenge if it was instanced.
open world events aka just jump in and join the people who are fighting it, are never going to be complex enough for guilds with top communication and very smart and skilled players.
again i dont think arenanet needs to hire a raid content designer for open world events, because they can create those events already and they are already good at creating those events.
and the one thing gw2 is missing is content for organized guilds, challenging content.
this is a complex and challenging raid encounter.
while it looks fairly simple in the video, it would take pages to explain whats really going on, especially the stuff that you dont see.
and i simply miss moments like at the end of the video in gw2. i miss screaming and cheering in teamspeak when you have wiped for days/weeks and finally get your world first kill.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
………
wildstar has the same combat system and raids work there too. it has a trinity yeah. but its just a question how you tune the boss fights.
saying “raids dont work with gw2 combat system” is simply wrong.
just an example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HisRpzL24B8
the encounter in wildstar:
phase 1:
- dont get it by lasers, pretty obvious
- the boss teleports behind one of the outer 6 pillars at the beginning of the fight and then every minute, until you push him to 75% hp. you have to interrupt the boss behind the pillar to make him teleport back to the middle. as long as you dont interrupt him, an aoe in the middle of the room will get bigger and bigger until everyone dies. the players behind the pillars get a dot. aoe and dot will disappear once the boss is interrupted.
phase 2:
- random aoes around the inner pillars
- smaller aoes
- big aoe:
you can hide behind 2-3 specific pillars. if you dont do that, the aoe will oneshot you.
- tank swap:
the tank with aggro gets hit with massive damage. the second tank needs to interrupt the boss. if you dont interrupt, the boss heals himself for 700k hp.
- Eggs:
one random player gets a corruption debuff and will be transformed into an egg.
to free the corrupted player, another player has to interrupt the egg. if you dont do that, the player in the egg will die and every other player will die after a short amount of time because of incoming damage. the eggs deal pulsating damage.
one minute later the player who interrupted the egg will get the corruption debuff too.
that means 1 egg -> 1 min -> 2 eggs -> 1 min -> 4 eggs -> 1 min -> 8 eggs -> 1 min -> if the boss isnt dead yet, game over. (basically the enrage timer)
if one player who is affected by the corruption debuff dies, the debuff will be carried over to another random player (domino effect, you wont stop this, game over).
if one player who is affected by the corruption debuff interrupts an egg, the corrupted player will immediately die and the domino effect will begin (see above, same counts if a player who is not affected by the corruption debuff interrupts 2 eggs).
the by the corruption debuff affected players need to get in set positions every time the egg transformation happens, otherwise its just too much chaos. you typically use cardinal directions for this.
- the corruption debuff:
your outgoing damage is buffed by 200%. you have a dot dealing damage to you until the fight is over.
now tell me why it wouldnt be possible to have raid boss fights like this in gw2!?
you can tune the entire fight so that players have to use every possible buff (especially buffs and conditions that nobody is using in PvE at the moment) to keep each other alive and work together. use waterfields to heal each other and regeneration buffs, use banner of tactics, banner of defense and stuff like that to reduce the incoming damage (nobody cares about that kitten at the moment).
make the eggs so that they have a specific amount of health and players have to kill them instead of interrupting them.
make the tank swap so 20 players have to use CC to interrupt the boss or the boss will heal himself for 1000000 hp and remove the massive damage to the tank (because we dont have tanks).
make the corruption debuff dot deal a well tuned amount of damage. so players can heal each other with their given tools in gw2.
there are so many more possibilites with the gw2 combat system compared to wildstars action/skill based trinity combat system or traditional combat systems, its simply wrong to say “raids dont work in gw2 because of the combat system”.
its just a question of how you design and tune the content.
and encounter like this would open up ALOT more build possibilites and make necros necessary in PvE.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
GW2’s Combat is skill based, and when you get more than 5 people dungeon it becomes a zerg fest which ruins the fun of it.
when you are a very uncreative designer/dev, this is correct.
and at the moment the combat system is indeed skill based. and this skill is the 1 on your keyboard.
tbh it wouldnt be that hard to make challenging 20 man instances that dont end up being a zerg fest. it comes down to how you design the content.
Raids dont belong to GW2….
this sounds more like “i dont want raids”.
But probably they don’t want to make open world afk 1111, and instead they want to make (some of) the open world encounters as complex as those of typical mmo raids.
which is impossible. open world content is open world content because everyone can participate, everyone can succeed no matter how good you play.
you cant make open world content as complex as good raid content.
the level of complexity and difficulty you need to deliver good and organized guilds a fun and challenging experience with high replayablity is something you cant put into the open world.
and there is the wurm, and there was the marionette.
i dont understand how both events are challenging. just look at the wurm. the wurm is based on 1 + 1 = 2 or run from A to B. its not complex at all. the only challenge there is the chat between the commanders to tell each other when they are ready.
the marionette could be reworked into something cool. but its probably the only encounter that would be worth it.
do you realize the mysterious rewards could simply be skins and not any higher gear? so nobody will be forced to raid. optional content + optional rewards that are not making your character any better stat wise = everything is ok.
but your reaction seems to be the reaction of someone who is afraid of not being good enough to play through challenging content.
alright so adding a few raids automatically means the endgame will be only raids and nothing else?
do you even realize that alot of players and guilds are looking for a challenge and there is no challenge at all in gw2 PvE at the moment?
there is nothing to do in PvE except running in circles like mindless monkeys and clicking through living story dialogues.
raids would be a good way to give players challenge and something to strive for.
if you think this will turn the game into a WoW clone then there is something wrong with you.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
so introducing raids automatically means there wont be anything else to do? alright.
Ahh finally ! Next step add trinity and this game is finally perfect .
/sarcasm off
I take adding raids in gw2 as final admission that ideas in original manifesto failed miserably, which is really sad. But still if change is needed, and it is needed imo, I would definitely prefer if they would be trying to turn gw2 into gw1 with improved engine and events. But making it just another WoW clone – which it will become if raids are to become elite end game, is just another mistake – you cant beat WoW at its own game …
adding raids to a game automatically means you want to turn the game into a WoW clone.
you are very smart.
imo people misunderstand this application. imo this is about raids like world bosses but not like 25man dungeon raid.
first of all, they have been talking about instanced guild raid content on the german and english forum. ramon domke, the german community manager, said in a thread when people were asking about instanced raid content and raid progression, that anet is currently looking at it.
2. they dont need to hire a raid content designer to make more open world afk 1111111 events. they can create those events already.
3. there is literally no challenging content in gw2 and instanced raid content would be a good way to introduce it.
4. anet has never, NEVER in their history, called open world content “raids”. never.
Here’s a question for you to ponder.
If Tequatl/Wurm was instanced and limited to certain number of people, e.g. 25, would it be played more often than it is right now?
The answer is yes.
would tequatl/wurm be more interesting if they made them instanced? no.
why not? because it would be just as easy, if not easier, to kill them because guilds would be fighting them without random people.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
and the game will die if we dont get new and challenging content.
Yepp :

I don’t think NCSoft would write the same about Wildstar with all its challenging content.
after hundreds of egoistic posts from you on the german and english forum, and telling people how much you hate OPTIONAL and challenging content because you know exactly how you play, people cant respect nor take you serious anymore.
and btw, once again you only see what you really want to see.
check the NCSoft quarterly report and you will realize that gw2 is declining.
also, the challenging content isnt the problem in wildstar. its why people bought and play the game to begin with.
the problem in wildstar is server transfer restrictions and factions.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
I’m saying that whether it’s wrong or it’s not wrong, if there’s enough of it,. a certain percentage of people might feel disenfranchised and think the game is no longer for them.
just how veterans feel disenfranchised and think the game is no longer for them because 99% of the game is easy mode content and they have nothing to do?
It’s a question about are there enough players to support a hard core play style and by doing so, will other players, rightly or wrongly, be affected.
how can optional content with optional rewards affect players who decide to not play the optional content? especially in this game without gear thread mill?
kkkkkkkkkk
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
rekt.
Tell me where the other side in the discussion said they want everything for no effort?
what else is the meaning behind “i dont want you guys to get challenging content and have fun because i dont need it” comments?
think about it. the prime example is mr.beldin in this thread.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
k now tell me please where i said that i want everything of value only available for me?
and you probably dont even know what elitist means.
if we get challenging content the content will be there for everyone who decides to play it. nobody will force you to do it.
and thats what you guys dont understand because you only see what you want to see.
seriously get your kitten together.
You’re assuming all veterans want challenging content. It’s a kittenumption. The question isn’t whether you feel disenfranchised but how many people by percentage do.
If it’s 5-10% of the playerbase, it might not be enough to justify a whole lot of challenging content.
2 years and 99% of easy mode content and then the forum gets flooded by waves of tears as soon as people ask for a little bit of challenging content…
more egoistic please.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
Really? What is the problem with having challenging content? This game is full of stuff you can easily do with your eyes closed, why not have something so veteran players can do besides farming skins and AP?
If you don’t like raids or you think they’re not for you, fine. Don’t participate in that part of the game. I do the same with Ranked PvP. It’s not my thing and I don’t care about Esports, so just I do something else.
the jelly haters who are bad at the game want everything without effort.
thats the problem.
It’s when the game has too many of these little things and casuals start feeling disenfranchised. You think it won’t happen, I think it might happen.
99% of this game is easy mode content spam 11111 win game.
its when the game only has easy mode content and the veterans start feeling disenfranchised.
seriously dude….

i will just leave this here.
raid content designer doesnt mean GvG designer.
and i dont think they need a raid content designer for open world zerg events. they can already create those events.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
These so called “few players” can go pick up Wildstar then, or play any Korean mmo in the market today. Guild Wars 2 ever since the start has been so relaxing, I don’t want to see it go along some hardcore path to get the best items that gives a significant advantage on almost all situations.
Yeah god forbid challenge in a videogame.
Not really the point. Plenty of people have challenging lives. They don’t need MORE challenge. Getting up in the morning and working is a challenge.
Every job I’ve had in the last 30 years has been ridiculously competitive. I don’t play games to prove myself or challenge myself. I play games to relax and unwind after proving myself and challenging myself all day…or I did before I was retired anyway.
It’s okay for people to play games just to have fun.
LOl. Come on Vayne. Do you really believe this? Some people have a challenge just getting out of bed in the morning? Give me a break man….seriously Vayne, you’re reaching with this one.
I don’t see what harm it would be to have some areas where people could work together in small groups to do more challenging content and get elevated rewards. As long as this content didn’t provide game breaking gear, what’s the harm in it?
I don’t get why so many are against this line of thinking. No one is advocating across the board harder game just some further challenges within the game as it is today.
I’m not reaching at all. Do you realize the age of the average gamer is now over 30. It’s a different generation.
Why do you think raiding games are on the slide. No one has time for that stuff anymore…well not no one, but much fewer people. We’ve grown up, gotten married. I’m 52 years old, not 16. I’m past the point where I need to push my boundaries, and you know, that’s strongest when you’re younger and fades as you get older…for most people anyway.
And more women are playing the game these days. My guild is like half women. Half. The women in my guild aren’t looking for serious competition.
I’m reaching because you think kids are the people playing these games?
Give ME a break.
I’ll be 40 in April. I’m not a kid either but I still like raiding.
I don’t understand why this game cant have things for casual players and for players who want something more to do.
I don’t get what the big deal is?
the jelly haters ,who know they will never be able to complete challenging content because they are too bad to use more than 1111111, are so egoistic that they dont grant other players their fun and rewards. thats the big deal here.
@Harper: I play this game for fun – as others have stated: I make my own rules, I rarely “just smash #1”. I am able to do what I want because I can get the best gear by not doing one certain event – and I like that. I don’t need “the best skins” – what’s that anyway? My main ran around in exotic starter gear because I liked the look best – I got a lot of hate for that actually and when I got ascended I thought about making it into starter gear again – just to kitten people off. I don’t need the “best rewards” as usually playing is enough for me.
So please don’t say “people want this or that” as I’m pretty sure there are a lot like me around.
And although I don’t really try to make gold I have it – without doing dungeons without doing more than 10 world bosses a week, without doing EotM, without “flipping the TP” oh and without doing champ trains.
Maybe you should try to make some friends outside of your fractal circle.
basically you are just afk-ing in lions arch. cool that you like this play style. but the majority of the players doesnt like it and the game will die if we dont get new and challenging content.
if YOU dont want to do challenging stuff, thats ok. nobody will force you to do it. you can keep afk-ing all day. nothing will change for you.
then they shouldnt say “dmg increased by 10%” when its actually a nerf.
before the feature patch tome of wrath made sense combined with conjured weapons. now its even more useless than before. Why?
you could pick up conjured weapons after using tome of wrath. with party buffs you were near 5500 power and 100% critchance.
that was probably the only reason why you would use it in PvE.
then they shouldnt say “dmg increased by 10%” when its actually a nerf.
before the feature patch tome of wrath made sense combined with conjured weapons. now its even more useless than before.
it is nerfed/changed. before the feature patch i had 4000+ power when i used tome of wrath and 100% critchance, solo. now the 300% power scaling doesnt work anymore and the precision scaling only works when you have fury/banner.
the 300% power is gone.
is this intended? because the 100% precision still works, when i have fury.
How long can you maintain Aegis infront of Alpha in CoE?
UC is kinda unreliable to me.
that depends on how well you play.
Yes. I am not making anything up, the DPS is all obal’s calculation that he posted in a thread. If I can I ll find it for you. As for regarding out of combat as time loss, it lasts for what now 10 seconds maximum? On average its 6 seconds or so, and people wouldn’t have to choose blasts to a more damaging attack – they are not always the same. As for the ramp up, its only till it finishes an autoattack, which I presume that is included in the calculation as well. As for Focus utility, there is a blind, an unreliable condition cleanse, a long cooldown block and blast. We have plenty of practicle blinds, condition removals and blasts on a hammer build as well, and block is only situational if you need ot to survive. In return, hammer has permanent protection, 2 CCs,1 AoE immobilize and blast finisher with 5 seconds cooldown. I d say they are comparable.
I can only give it to you that Hammer has less multipliers for reflects. But is it a decisive factor? Maybe not.
Edit:
There you go. As far as I can see this is his latest calculation.
5/5/0/4/0-GS-Hammer – 11029
6/6/0/0/2-GS-Scepter – 10871
4/6/2/0/2-GS-Sword – 10797
4/5/0/0/5-GS-Sword – 10515
3/5/0/4/2-GS-Hammer – 10146
5/5/2/0/2-GS Camping – 9417
3/5/0/4/2-Hammer Camping– 9338
4/6/2/0/2-Sword/Focus Camping – 7530
3/5/0/6/0-Staff Camping – 7391
gs sf will outdps 5504 hammer when you use UC.
Anyway im giving up on this game … and if you all want to be honest with yourself, then you should do the same.
I am sorry that you don’t like the game any more (ever?), but this part always makes me laugh, whenever anyone says it, or the similar “I’m leaving now, and because I’m going, it has failed, because I’m the benchmark”.
Are we in a teen boy-meets-girl comedy, and this is the part where the girl breaks up with the jock at the party and everyone has stopped and staring at the jock, and he’s all flustered, and says the inane thing that he says and follows it with, “Come on guys, lets go”, and none of his buddies seem eager to follow him?
Please tell me I’m not going to have to race you down the K-12.
A lot of people are going to have this response, especially after hearing about dungeons/fractals. Like I said, it snot like im monthly paying, but as someone who has been extremely dedicated to gw2 and the devs, this is kinda the last straw after so many failures. I will always come back in a heartbeat if anything good is done like an expansion.
No one is saying you don’t have reasons to go. What some of us find humorous is this idea that because you feel as you do. that a LOT of other people also feel as you do, and are gonna follow up these feelings by leaving the game.
Seems a bit arrogant. Just because you dislike something to the point where you are gonna leave the game, doesn’t mean anyone else will follow you.
alot of people have already left the game. but this will destroy all the hope of the remaining players.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2ed3js/thank_you_for_finally_cutting_the_cord_arenanet/
thx for communicating with the community anet and finally telling the truth.
what about more communication in the dungeon forum?!
how many times do we need to ask for communication and how many times will we see the answer “absolutely doable” until something happens?
play wildstar guys!
Hammer/GS is only higher DPS than Sword+Focus/GS if you get it perfect/lucky and never interrupt the long castingtime of Hammer’s autoattack while also swapping back to the GS immediately when the weaponswap timer is off CD.
even then its not higher because gs + sword focus builds include unscathed contender.
5-5-0-4-0 hammer is slightly higher than gs s/f damage if you dont include unscathed contender. if you include it gs s/f is higher dps, always.
These aren’t relevant to pve dps, as you shouldn’t be running meditations. Also, GS isn’t even the best guard weapon. Technically, scepter is best dps, but this is assuming all of smite hits. Sword/focus will be better than gs, except for when you’re using gs 2-5 in a burst. Hammer/gs is going to generally be your best real dps, but it might not be worth it to spam light fields during many fights.
And of course, you bring a guardian for the utility. Otherwise every group would be 5 lh ekes eles
so wrong except for the scepter part. and you dont have to hit all smite hits. i believe 12 are enough. other than that there are situations in which you cannot keep up unscathed contender if you are using gs s/f. even then scepter is better because of higher UC uptime.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
And you STILL got sub-18 minutes even with all that. I’d call that an overall success.
i casual duo p2 with dub in 20 min.
the run could be faster if they tried over and over again to get a really fast time yeah. but the team composition sucks.
10 vuln when lupi starts phase 2 aoe. im impressed by that composition.
To sum what has happened so far: Guang made a claim about engineers and provided some math and a sample dps rotation video using his build, but did not provide a full party speed run example.
Actually he made a claim about engineers and didn’t provide anything at all.
Neither did you so i guess that makes us even.
The burden of proof lies with the person making the claim, mister.
They’re the ones “claiming” it doesn’t work. It goes both ways. I’ve provided the theory, they’re the ones claiming it doesn’t work in practice. If that’s their stance they should do something to prove it. If they want to argue about the theory they can do that too but I haven’t seen much effort to do so other than the one post by spoj about the comp not having enough DPS which I think we can all agree isn’t true.
Everyone harps at me to make videos or duel them or whatever inane bullkitten they can think of whenever some random nobody disagrees with me, I honestly don’t care enough. It’s not my mission to prove every random bad on the Internet wrong, I just want to burn downtime while at work. I literally have no idea rT is other than that they’re some random guild associated with one guy who likes to whine a lot, that’s not really enough incentive to make me care about proving them wrong one way or another.
you are just really really sad.
and if you dont care enough then do us all a favor and stop being stupid and stop throwing around random insults.
everyone knows you are not a good player and everyone knows your calculations are far away from reality.
once again i can only suggest you should go and play the game.
(edited by NoTrigger.8396)
mesmer deals dps the way you want
And yes, I am ignoring the rT casuals now, it’s been like four pages and they haven’t given me anything worth responding to. I will apologize in advance to anyone in rT who isn’t intentionally being ignorant though, I don’t want to stereotype the entire guild on account of a couple of bad apples.
the rT casuals are able to dodge stuff in fractals compared to you, you scrub. and now go play the game instead of making kittened claims, which are far off reality, look like facts.
the only fact in this thread is you dont know whats going on ingame.
go and play the game.

and a mesmer will outDPS the guardian for all fights except the Abom.
ok, can you show me how this is possible? is there any trick to have 3 swordsmen up when every fight except lupi is shorter than 20s?
and can you tell me how a guardian blocks, when wor runs out @ alphard, when the fight is so short that moc + wall is enough for the entire fight?
seriously guang. i dont wanna flame you but please PLAY the game and then theorycraft.

I guess hendo’s scared, I put up the build and now he’s saying he won’t run it.
So there’s that. Anyone else wants to take a shot at it, feel free.
Why dont you come up with a composition that actually makes sense first. How about TA Forward? That should be easier to work out. Or TA Up. Take your pick.
Heres a few reasons why your path 2 comp doesnt make sense. Theres no place to use a portal so mesmer is a complete deadweight. Guardian would make more sense. Engi doesnt have enough stealth for the skips, people would be put in combat half way through a lot of the time, resulting in getting slowed down. You have a single ele with staff (staff ele is always the second ele, scepter LH takes priority if you can only have 1). Your might stacking is going to be slow simply because most of your blasts will be from the engi. The mesmer has no real mobility and with only one ele you dont have many fgs’s to give out for mobility. Ranger could work, but an extra ele could do just about the same. Ranger has the potential to screw up a run a lot more due to rng.
the problem is guang still believes mesmer deal the highest dps in the game and are better than guardians.
@Guanglai Kangyi.4318: i think you should play more gw2 instead of excel wars 2.

Just saying Guan. You a good theory crafting, but you think too much of yourself and of what you come up with and that’s what kitten people off on the forum. From Guru to here, you always have people attacking every single line you write (for good or bad reason) simply because you make people hate you and always have to push it a bit too far.
Everybody say that Staff Ele is NOW (after the December 10th and October 15th patch) one of the best DPS of the game, better DPS than LH + S/X but serious lacking in might stacking. Both build are complementary and are good addition to a speed run group. But no, you have to say that Staff Ele is the BEST dps of the game no doudt and that LH + S/X is kitten.
Back in the day, people use to say to you. Ya Guardian is good DPS, but not as good as Warrior, especially if you use scepter in that build. A year latter, Guardian was offensively buff, while the warrior was nerf and now the Guardian CAN have higher DPS than a warrior only if he can keep aegis always up (which is impossible). How’s that make you right back then? You had a good build, but you were wrong.
you dont need 100% aegis uptime to deal more dps than warriors.
and if the warrior is running EA build its even easier to deal more dps than them.
I’ve noticed the recent concern of how to play a mesmer in a speedclear setting. After the patch, mesmer is in a bad spot DPS wise and loses out to guardian whenever reflection is needed.
and nothing has changed. if you cant do cool portal tricks a guardian is better.
it even was like that before the patch.

disci banner gives me 14% critchance and 19% critdmg in AC. really weird scaling.
in SE 10% critchance and SE 13% critdmg.
i was talking to zelyhn and he says precise is probably better in AC than mighty.
and this is what i got as result for lvl 80 dungeons with bloodlust stacks for example.
i used UC, 25 might, banners, ea, 25 vul, but no spotter and no frostspirit.
power food + mighty: 20642.71
power food + precise: 20697.82
precision food + mighty: 20716.88
precision + precise: 20750.73
without stacks.
power food + mighty: 19350.28
power food + precise: 19378.81
precision food + mighty: 19386.49
precision food + precise: 19393.77
for ac:
without spotter:
perception stacks + precise infusions + power food
with spotter:
bloodlust stacks + precise infusions + precision food.
without stacks:
precision food + precise infusions.

at lvl 80 in optimal situations and if your group can keep 20 stacks of might, precise is slightly better even without bloodlust stacks.
solo power seems to be slightly better.
now the question is what about lowlevel dungeons?
i noticed precision and ferocity from banners scales better in lower level dungeons than power.

only 3 waves spawn. sometimes its more like 3,5 waves. i never had the “infinitely spawn” bug.
this is how you kill brie when you dont deal enough damage to kill her before the trash destroys the console. stability is necessary for the technicians because they deal damage to you even with the phase shift buff.
Monsters should hit weaker and more often, that’s one simple and useful adjustment. You won’t be able to dodge it all – tough/vit/healing suddenly become needed in the team.
welcome to a pseudo trinity.
please accept the fact that gw2 has an active combat system and was advertised as a “skill based game” and understand what it actually means.
build diversity in gw2 pve is defined by your weapons, traits and utility skills. not by gear.
there will be always one optimal build/playstyle for players who are able to use active defense. if you force us to use 1 healer in a party nothing will change. because everyone will run x x x x + 1 healer and people will cry again.
i agree condition damage should be buffed in pve. but only if they add a new stat to the game so you are a class cannon condition damage dealer.
the main problem however, why many players use berserker gear, even the bad players, is because the content is stale and boring and even the worst players will understand the basics after 2 years of playing the same content.
add a new challenging dungeon to the game and everyone except top players will faceplant 24/7
and i want to dodge because its fun. i want to die if i dont dodge or use other active defense because i played badly and should be punished for it. and i want to become a better player.

Lets have a moment of silence for the zerk……
Ok now thats out of the way. Good riddance. Didn’t much care for the zerker “elitists” mentality that if you didn’t have zerk you were a horrible player and a bad person. Nothing wrong with zerk in and of itself, its just the mentality that bothered me and prompted me to go a different direction with my warrior pre patch.
Your mentality bothers me, Why do you care that I want to do speed runs and I want to play with players that like to also do speed runs, Its the way I want to play, I dont have to play with you and you dont have to play with me, if you want to play with tanks and condition players then you make YOUR OWN LFG and announce no Zerk elitist in the description.
And I will make my own LFG and say, Ping gear, Zerk only, then you know not to play with me.
I don’t care, and thats the point. What I do care about is getting flamed, kicked, insulted, and worse for not playing zerker. I get tired of people saying I’m a horrible player because I refuse to use zerk. Get tired of people saying the way I play is all in my head because I’m not atually doing anything, but “think” I am. And the group of people that think and act this way are largly Zerkers. And I’m not the only one in this boat.
You want to play your way. Fine please do, I won’t get in your way. But don’t hate on me because I want to do something different.
NOBODY HATES YOU FOR DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENT. and if you would actually READ lfg descriptions and not join them when the description doesnt fit your playstyle nobody would every try to flame you or whatever.
1. READ LFGS
2. ONLY JOIN IF IT FITS YOUR PLAYSTYLE.
and you will never be in trouble.
the reason why berserker players will kick people like you even more often now is because you refused to READ lfgs and because people like you were crying on the forums to nerf what means “fun” to us berserker players.
