Hey Chris, apologies, but I’d like to get clarification on another topic as there is clearly a huge misunderstanding which really has to be cleared up.

The person who created the post finished a path on his own and tried to sell it. Two people joined and blackmailed him; he either has to pay or he gets kicked. He ended up getting kicked. The response seems automatically generated and it looks like whoever sent that last reply mixed something up (hopefully). I’m sure it’s not allowed but since there are people who could try to turn it around and abuse this statement, clarification would be appreciated. Thank you.

Well that actually makes sense but doesn’t change the fact that it’s still annoying. Not saying that was what you were trying to do, just saying that while you answered the question I posed, my other point still remains the same.

I thnk it would be better if they found a healthy median between combat and running speed and increased the area affected by AoE spells. Both problems fixed, yeah?

I wouldn’t say so, since larger AoE’s could – for example – take up whole points in PvP, thus making you unable to stay in there at all if you don’t want to take damage.

I agree that the slower movement speed is annoying, but this gives you more of a incentive not to get hit or to use blocks. Try to make the best of it.

Chris, I hope you don’t mind asking here, but while we’re at it… Are the devs informed about the bug which makes Arah p2 completely unplayable (Belka’s cutscene doesn’t trigger)? Apparently Honor of the Waves and Crucible of Eternity story modes have bugged out NPCs too. If they know, when can we expect a fix?

@SirJack: Alright. I still think it needs a full blown tutorial, since the point with a lot of people not knowing what they are still stands… Most of them just click those messages away. And of course, that was part of what made the daily that bad too… But I remember seeing the question “What are combo fields?” pop up every minute or so.

Oh, I agree. The message that’s shown is very unclear. Think explaining combos in a tweet, limited to 140 characters. That’s about the info you get from that.

Unless I missed part of it, being a terrible player and all that.

Really though, they added a part where “dodge” is explained in every map, I would have expected the same for Combos, Conditions and certain effects like Critical Hits and Glancing Blows. I’m fairly sure most people don’t even know Weakness reduces Endurance regeneration by 50% for example, or the importance of cleansing posion before healing.

With the inclusion of a short dodge tutorial, I’d like to say “it’s a start”, but with all the changes they did, I doubt I’ll be taking another alt through the starter areas ever again. And even that, I’d rather have seen it as a Skill Challenge/Tutorial Instance where you have to successfully dodge a series of telegraphed attacks to get some reward. “Dodge though electric fence to get chest” is kinda weak as a tutorial.

From what I know you can actually jump around that fence. lol

I completely agree though.

Honestly, combo fields are pretty pointless when it comes to PvE content.
“I can’t kill this boss without the proper combo fields!” I’m guessing that’s not something you see said very often.

Please what.

So might stacking (and fury if you have persisting flames trait as ele) through combo fields is useless? Stealth through smoke fields is useless? Heck, even water fields have use in PvE. The others can still be used, even though they’re not as effective in many cases (well, maybe blasting dark for blinds if you really need that… so is condition remove through a light field).
It doesn’t even matter if it’s more of a PvE or PvP thing, they need to learn it and I doubt they’ll teach you a game-wide mechanic in the PvP tutorial.

And is not for the amount of players, or something like that. Idk, my FPS suddenly drops in certain places or in front of players. I feel how scroll even running.

Idk what was the performance improvements in this patch but is awful for me. I was able to run this game fine and smooth and now is a crap and annoying.

You missed my point. I clearly know what combo fields are and how they work.
I asked if there is a INGAME-Tutorial which teaches you the basics of combo fields because a lot of people don’t grasp the concept of said fields. Seeing that they’re trying to put everything into tutorials, locking things behind gates etc. it would only make sense to have a combo field tutorial too…

I’m genuinely curious if they added one as combo fields are the one thing most people actually don’t get and which are in severe need of a tutorial.
I see people with 10k+ AP asking what combo fields are and I don’t think I need to remember what happened when they added a combo field daily back in january/february 2013 with tons of people being confusing and them taking the daily back out (next to it being buggy).

No you didn’t they fixed ANY possible way to ress many months ago.
Lot of times passed but if i remember correctly rtop was 38.
And not uneven levels.

Also you are going with your word against a spreadsheet of thousands and thousands of reports.

That is making you the exception.

A spreadsheet is an average of thousands of tries. Why is it unlikely that he had bad luck? It says that the chance SHOULD be 18,9%, that doesn’t mean it is. A weapon drop for every fifth player (thus one weapon each run) does not have to happen. It is a player-crafted statistic, nothing more, nothing less.
I for my part didn’t have much luck with my fractals I ran around either (Around Lv20-30 most of the time). Droprates were better back then (and I think they were okay like this), but they weren’t as glorious as some people make them out to be.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t it possible to simply change the balance between his skills damage and stats?
As far as I know, reflect damage is calculated with the skill’s base damage and the power/prec/ferocity (amen) of the player reflecting. If Anet brings down the base damage on all of Lupi’s skills and gives him more power (the stat) to compensate, it would only reduce the damage from reflects?

Reflecting an enemy projectile uses that enemy’s power stat for damage calculation.

My bad then :/
But it uses the player’s precision/ferocity, right? I’m sure I’ve read that somewhere…

This is because some of the collections are hidden and you need a special item to unlock it first? Though some of them honestly just seem to be bugged to me.

It doesn’t seem like “collect all 18 rare armor skins” needs a trigger to unlock if I have all 18 skins unlocked… I’ll check though. //Nope, buying a new armor piece doesn’t trigger it.

Hero of the People however shouldn’t have a trigger and if it does, it would be a champbag – which I did open.

Does anyone else have a similar issue?

Pretty much like the topic says.

For example I don’t have the “Rare Regalia” collection unlocked even though I have all 18 skins in my wardrobe. The “Hero of the People” collection didn’t start for me either after opening multiple different champion bags post-patch.

I doubt it should be like this, so either the collections don’t work (for everyone) or they were removed?

I learned this the hard way. Had to open coe THREE TIMES in like 15 mins just because I needed to go to bank and grab some gear/food.

I have every ring infused on my bank (those would probably not even count because you need the uninfused Royal Signet of Dorik, so they need two collections), but it would still be nice because you’d still get a reward for it.

This game is easy… get over it. You can try to glam up the game with “speed runs” but at least be honest. It takes all of 24 hours to learn all the dungeons if you are a slow learner..

I haven’t felt like playing GW2 in a long time. I’ve pretty much only been playing because of not knowing what else to do because I want to still play an MMO. This one I thought would fit the bill.

Still debating whether or not I want to keep it installed. I ponder it daily.

Just keep it installed. The game itself is good, it just lacks in most departments, sadly. Also, you may find yourself every now and then to want to solo a path or do whatever.

The personal story was even easier.
The fights in the LS were still a bit better than those we’re usually accustomed to, though.

What are you talking about? The fix was discovered after someone randomly did the math.

They did a fix to match a tooltip that most likely wasn’t supposed to be there in the first place. Anyways… What’s important is to make Anet aware of what they have done.

Actually no one did the math to uncover this, I was just confused that there was an ICD (I rarely play ranger and just wanted to use it for CoE) and then tested Whirling Defense in Heart of the Mists, other peeps followed to do so and then someone did the math on how “useful” the new FS is, i.e. less useful than a stack vuln.

The first post about it I ever saw was presented with maths. Well. Whatever. Doesn’t change much.

I’m surprised though no one of those who main Ranger noticed this earlier; or it was “fixed” with a very, very recent patch.

Unless you spend time in the pvp staging area performing dps tests, you probably wouldn’t. In pve you have crits, various mob toughness values, and might causing numbers to go all over the place.

That’s true. However there are also Rangers who go for fast kill times in solos and I think if you perform just as well or even better in a solo and still are slower you should notice that something is off, like Sina did with the gate control.

Not blaming anyone here though (or something like that), I was just a bit surprised, but can understand that no one checks combatlog 24/7 and does the same tests every week, as this usually is pretty silly.

For ANet it is, especially when looking at fractals.

They didn’t move backwards; they just advanced in a different direction… a direction worse than the last. Still, my point stands, if we keep things the way they are, they’ll become even more boring than they already are (if that’s even possible :P).

I mainly meant the fractal level reset with that.

But yes, we need changes.

I might say that dark souls and co are considered between the most difficult games around.

Like GW2, players finish it naked once they understand its all about Learning patterns.

It suffers the same exact problem, but dark soul is a long one player game you finish once (PvP is risible).

I very well know that, some bosses drove me mad (especially Ornstein and Smough, kittenmit).

But it’s the same thing with all repetitive content, once you know how the game is trying to kill you, you’ll counter it. In GW1 you picked skills to counter what the enemy throws at you, here it’s a mix of active defenses and needing to know when/what to dodge.
I get your point, but a better AI can’t fix that .

You are wrong:
Play halo3 one of the games with a really GOOD AI to tell one.

I played Halo 3. AI was more intelligent but could still be outsmarted, since you can always do that with AI. No matter how intelligent the AI is, the community will ALWAYS find a way to somehow exploit the AI and even if it’s just to make the fights 5% easier. Btw, Halo 3 AI was very predictable in the end because they always did the exact same thing based on what you did. And the Flood had basically no AI whatsoever (but that was on purpose, obviously).

//Oh and regarding the GW2-Aggro System. Well what do you think would happen if you could make enemies stick to you? You could tank. Next to ANet not wanting that this would mean one person can pull everything together while the rest of the team nukes them (like in almost every MMO with trinity), or he runs out of defensive options (dodges, blocks mainly) because the rest of the team doesn’t get the slightest bit of aggro. It’s actually kind of important that aggro switches on a regular basis.

Wait… wait… You’re crying about a class that masters conditions that they’re good at what they’re doing?

Also, just fyi, if you use a hammer the second slot doesn’t automatically become occupied by a longbow and even if you don’t use a hammer, you have more CC-options.

Oh and please tell me you don’t run a condition build.
