It’s not just Feedback, I’d like to have fixed. The height of TempCurtain could be increased to Guardian’s Wall of Reflection as well.

Feedback on Lupi works on some skills. The revival feedback is a nice defensive shield, but the manual one works well on his rapid shots in front of his feet. But generally, yeah, Feedback’s size should scaled a bit with it’s target’s size – at least in PvE. In case of Lupi maybe not his entire body, but way bigger than currently.

Fractals, didn't receive daily chest

If your personal reward level is <30, you’ll not get a lvl30 daily chest.

Meaning, you run run lvl 38 with PRL29, you receive a lvl20 reward chest. Then you run lvl 28 and you already had your lvl20 chest this day.

Signet of Illusions: Clones and Phantasms will now gain the passive effect of this signet when they are created, rather than a few moments after creation.

now we don’t have to worry about wasting a utility slot for this skill and HOPE our illusions don’t die before they get the bonus (buff to phantasm builds IMO)

that’s not a buff, but a deserved fix. Nothing to brag about.

Signet of Midnight. Increased Blind Duration to 5s. Decreased cooldown to 30s

Do you guys realize Mesmer is THE ONLY CLASS that has the capability to increase their boon duration beyond any other class. This includes guardians. Take any boon and generally with the right traits/runes/food and this signet we can easily increase things like protection and might to 110-120%… That is very hard for other classes to do. Add to it they are decreasing the CD this sounds like a buff to confusion build (may it RIP)

Mesmer’s trait-boon duration comes from Chaos line. Most mesmers don’t put and points into it.
Other classes get +30% boon duration from trait lines with default builds.
4s blind or 5s blind doesn’t matter at 98% of the uses. The CD reduction is neat, but not enough.
This signet deserves a “plus 20% boon duration”. (the plus sign makes formattings in this forums -.-)

Prismatic Understanding: This trait now pulses once every second while stealthed.
Once again AMAZEBALLS! Currently this skill pulses every 2-3 seconds… So usually by the time we come out of stealth the boons we have aren’t gonna last for long. Take mass invis that is going to be 6 consecutive seconds of getting regen/aegis/protection (double thanks to iMembrane) EPIC! I see good thing coming with this… We can get aegis more often than guardians and regen/protection that lasts longer than elementalists.

it’s a deserved buff (grandmaster trait …), but our cloaking skills usually don’t last long enough. But that’s the other reason to get this …
I wonder how many mesmers rely on their stealth.

Bountiful Interruption: This trait has been moved to the Master tier. In addition to granting a random boon on interrupt, this trait will also grant 5 stacks of might
Okay screw ALL other interrupt buffs. ^this is going to be so awesome…. think about this 60% might duration from runes plus 30% from chaos automatically 90% might duration in a master tier. We can now compete with HGH engis in might stacking as well as be viable interrupters.

Shattering Conditions: This trait now removes one condition from all allies around the mesmer.
This is another huge buff to mesmers that like the idea of bunkering but hate playing guardians cuz well guardians are boring. Imagine a 0/20/15/30/5 build… What conditions? For you and your team.

I have 30 in inspiration, but would like to get 6 traits there. This would made it the 7th desireable one …

But I’ll have to test this, if it’s more useful to get condition removal on shatter than on heal.

Illusion of Life correct or bugged?

IoL has been nerfed a few patches ago. Yet, it didn’t become useless. Like Warriors Vengeance (downed get up), you now need to kill something and get exp for it to remove IoL’s debuff. So most minions or buildings won’t help you (since then).
Vengeance and IoL seem similar but ain’t. Vengeance has a chance to rally (untraited), IoLs chance is 100% (should). Vengeance kills you, IoL downs you.

But to compare IoL to other classes’ rev skills, it’s kinda balanced, probably stronger than most. Ele and Guardian have rev skills with pointless long casttimes. Within 3s casting, I could rev the guys manually. They’re very situational. Rangers revive skill is instant, but its effect is not. Just Warriors reviving banner is like the most superior one, but it’s an elite.
The only really, really awkward feature of Illusion of life is, that it does not ressurect NPCs …

Infusion slots are just like regular upgrade slot. You can overwrite them with a different infusion.

Nice to know. I was thinking about putting in the non agony in the slots, but didn’t want to ruin a 30 or 40 laurel investment if I wanted agony on them later.

But (beware,) you’d lose 5~20 laurels from the previous infusion. “Re-infusion” does’t switch the infusions, but new one overwrites the old one – like regular slots.

Yeah, Thief and ranger also got some nerfs, but mesmer’s are the worst. Personally, I wouldn’t have a problem with lowered range with shortbow (it’d be equal to axe …?). Their #2 skill deals nice damage on point blank range (like axe ? …). But I’d understand several complainings here.

I really hope that most of the mesmer things are not true. I’d accept the bug-/exploit-fixes and the interrupt buffs. But considering the other things, they should’ve buffed several other things, too.

As I see the “complete”-“leaked” patchnotes, I’m really disappointed. The interrupt changes are nice and were necessary. The rest is rather nerfing than buffing. (Almost) all other classes received a long list of buffs, mesmer several bug-/exploit-fixes and several nerfs.

Scepter now deals a new condition with a single skill. This skill’s damage has been lowered to a QUARTER, so the new condition just compensates the direct damage with removable DoT …

Getting 400 toughness while casting mantras doesn’t help when some mobs continuously knock you down … Necro has a “gain 400 toughness while channeling” trait …

I am disappoint!

Well, assuming they kicked you in front of the boss to get their friends in, they wouldn’t use gw2lfg.com to search others. It’s more likely that you screwed up multiple times at the endboss, so they kicked you. Your story is just too odd.

But making the vote to three wouldn’t change the issue. It’d be surprisingly awkward in a three man party to kick the offline guy.

Unfortunately you can’t prevent malicious actions. Some guild members might invite a single (or two) members, kick them before the reward and invite other guild members, regardless of the vote-kick. To be sure to not be kicked out, open the dungeon yourself, but then you might be the malicious one others wouldn’t want to join with.

The damage of conditions is low because it ignores any armor. However in my opinion condition damage has a modifier that is way too low.

In PvE, yeah. That’s why 20 flying numbers confuse the source, because you might think “wow, I deal alot damage”.

I switch in scepter for bosses noone wants to melee. Sure, you could use GS for the cripple, but GS#2, #3 and #5 are often useless. The scepter permanently generates clones, which may get aggro. Then you can blind. I’d just need multiple offhands, since focus never leaves it. Sword, Pistol or Torch might be the better choice sometimes.

I never negleted the scepter, but usually one ranged (GS) and one (aoe) melee (sword) weapon is more fun to play.

I have no idea how the game handles damage if you poison your enemy and another player stacks your poison to hold longer.

Yeah, but it’ll leave the impress alot damage. 20×45dmg is still only 900dmg. That’s below your autoattack.

But yes, making them sum might not be the best idea – especially for duration stacking ones. Alot ppl might misinterpret it (I’ve talked to alot ppl who thought channelling spells do more damage at later hits …).

But maybe I’d like to see both … the current way – displaying each tick, but also a damage number upon infliction; of course flagged as such.

Let’s use Necro’s Scepter #2 as example and to make it easy, default damages from wiki:
direct damage: 235
bleeding: 3 stacks; 7s (893 dmg) … neither devisible by 3 nor 7 … let’s use 2100 dmg instead

The three bleedings tick seven times each. The total damage is 2100, so you see 21 (7×3) ticks of 100 damage – showing the actual damage – as right now.
But additionally, I’d like to see the raw damage upon infliction, like
235 +2100.

It doesn’t show the actual damage, since it could be removed, but it shows you the potential raw damage. Coloring would be needed so you see, that it’s not actual damage, but at the same time you could compare it to direct damage values.

If you want to reflect (, not retaliate):

  • Focus + Focus Trait
  • Feedback + Glamour traits
  • Optional Feedback on rev (focus + 2x glamour in same line)
  • Mirror
  • Mimic
  • Vitality & Toughness for survivability
  • Blurred Frenzy for survivability

Anything but berserker gear. And with a reflect build … you’re useless in most situations.

I only have 12G in bank. Also gold hoarder is at tier 3/4 so it thinks i have put in over 100G but the bar isn’t even halfway. Depositing gold in the bank doesn’t change the number from 263,666.

It only shows what you’ve achieved …
If you did a jumping puzzle once, it doesn’t mean you get it “un-credited” when you’re not doing it anymore.

Poison & Agony really hurts the healing efficiency.

Reviving probably faces the same reductions from those conditions. But it’s independent from HealingPower. Instead it’s based on the victim’s maxHP.

Apparently, I must just have sincerely bad luck, the likes of which are not heard of before.
Or the RNG does not properly reset on each salvage creating false ‘chains’ of bad luck.

Either or.

And for those who asked, I have salvaged over 300 rares of the appropriate level in the past week and made somewhere around 60 ectos total.

Try salvaging 70+ rares.

The behaviour of Mimic comes from it’s implementation history. But for now, it seems like it’s intended. Once the first projectile hits you, you reflect all following projectiles, block all attacks and get a copy of the initial projectile.

Sword clones do use the full rotation of your sword’s AA. They inflict 2x vulnerability and 1x boon removal.

Illusions cease to exist when their target dies, since they’re “meant” to be only seen by the target. Like a distorsion of reality (genjutsu). And this has a higher priority than shattering them. But to explain it rather in game balancing terms.
High damage, instant cast (while doing other things), AoE damage, Condition applying and homing attack …
And if illusions die due to a missing target, they still apply their “on death” effects.

At least at the end there’s an “easy way” which goes around flags. Then you’ll rush to the chest and you haven’t finished it. Then you’ll not be revered to a human (or whatever you were), you get the weekly chest and the normal chest can be opened.

Be sure to look at your minimap to see which flags you’re supposed to pass.

You realize there are several thousand random number generators out there that are used in computer science, right? There’s no mysterious algorithm that calculates ecto’s or anything like that. Just an RNG that has a fixed set of numbers that is so big and set up in such a way they appear random, and for all purposes they are used, are close enough to random to be considered random.

I could go ahead and explain to you how they work, but I’m pretty sure it would fly right by your understanding of RNG…

Well, AeroJavi is a bit more right than you, yet not completely.

Generating random numbers in computer science is … simply impossible (for computers without atomic disintegration module). Any algorithm will always get the same results, if the preconditions are the same. Imagine you’d have the same PC twice. Completely identical (which is practically impossible, due to IDs and such – but theoretically possible) … Even their ime in milliseconds is the same. Let them both generate a “random” number and you’ll get the same number twice. Simply because computers can’t generate random numbers, but “pseudo-random” ones.

And since we don’t know what kind of algorithm ArenaNet uses, we can’t kitten its correct behaviour.

But I am sure there never ever has been a bug in a computer program, where “sometimes” meant “certain times of day”.

You are sure … then you failed …
Generating pseudo-random numbers (as described above) usually consumes alot computing power. Pretty unnecessary for MMORPGs. I know at least one MMORPG which was rumored to use weekly-based random tables. Meaning, at each time there’s a slot which contains the “random result” (of a dice roll). This implementation had two unique behaviours. First, opening two random boxes in a lag resulted in two identical items since they were both opened in the same timeslot. Second, opening another box exactly one week later, often resulted in the same item.

Saying “pseudo-random number generators are completely independent from the world” is a bit off.

Mystic has the correct math formula for adding up the probability of proc occurrances.

Yeah but, instead of travelling around the world to reach your neighbour …

Yes, some projectile-type attacks continue to travel further even after their range is passed.
This behavious doesn’t work on straight travelling projectiles (or beams) since they’d go unlimited than.

If you have 25 players hitting at the same time for a bleeding. Not a single bleeding will deal damage, but it’ll turn into Deep Wound. Noone gets certis for the kill.

I don’t care that the condition damage is limited in total, so the mob get’s “reduced” damage.
I do care about the damage I deal. And this suggestion wouldn’t change it at all, probably worsen it.

I don’t think anyone needs to get credit for the deep wound, since everyone is already getting credit for the stacks of bleeding that caused it. While we haven’t seen this in the game yet, I don’t think a condition without an owner is really a big problem to combat.

Whose condition damage will it use ? What duration has it ? Whose condition duration will affect it ?
If my bleeds are always turned into an player-independant condition, do I even get credits for the kill?

Those are the reasons I said “condition is bound to a single source” and “who get’s the credit”.

When applicable, the stats of the character that activated the finisher are used to calculate the combo effects. This is most relevant to combos that inflict damaging conditions, as well as the healing effects of water fields.

Imagine I’d pop an etheral field on world bosses and all those confusions would be accounted as mine … Ofc they belong to the trigger.

It has technic reasons that it doesn’t stack swiftness. It’s either an intended exploit-fix or a temporary fix (since release).

Don’t expect it to be fixed for real anytime soon, just learn to live with it.

As mesmer you have to decide what kind of “support” you want to provide. Reviving by staying alive? Healing? Boon granting? Reflect? Interrupt? Diversion (clones)? Condition cleansening?

Arcane Thievery trivia:

- Fails when invulnerable target (invul, evade, block)
- Fails when blind

- Does only steal boons “archieveable by players” (by other means)
- Does only steal boons with a white border (timer)
- Does only transfer conditions “causeable by players” (by other means)
- Does only transfer conditions with a white border (timer)
- Does only transfer conditions to non-environmental targets (living things)
- “Removing conditions” only happens on successful “tranfering”
- Stealing boons and transfering conditions are individual actions

Personally:
I only use AThievery on mobs with high timers.
I use Inspiration IV for condition cleansening. Condition Mantra only if necessary.
I use iDisenchanter or cSword for ripping boons.
