even if it does, 3sec casting time is a joke. leave it at 900 range but decrease casting time to 1.1/2sec casting time
They should increase its duration to 7-8 because right now it does nothing… At least give us 10% damage reduction like the frost aura does if it lasts only 5sec…
this is the reason why mmo’s are such a hated genre, worthless waiting
Ranger!!! pet tags everything
level up with ranged weapons and go for DE as your first master trait
It has the best auto, iwave is amazing, izerker does the job now and mirror blade is great n spammable. The only garbage skill it has is mind stab and 4/5 good skills on a weapon is pretty good in my book. Its my 2nd fav after staff because staff with chaos storm/phase retreat is hot.
If there was no wvw at least 50% of people currently playing would have left the game already because if you don’t like spvp there’s nothing you could be doing in the passes 10 months.
its so fun to stealth/iwave everyone on on skyhammer for dat triple killz lol
when it comes to mez nerfs, don’t even try to find a justification because there’s none. This class is their nerf machine class… i think i’ve only seen 2 patches without a mez nerf out of what? 20…
If i had to chose one class i’d say ele. Its not a mod i will ever use on my ranger or mesmer that’s for sure tho. Divinity runes ftw on mez
Now that it could only proc like twice or maybe three times per 5sec, can we get rid of that useless 1 stack or confusion and cripple? All it should do is blind because right now its not defensive nor is it offensive… just crap, purple flashy crap…
GW2 is, by design, heavily driven by cosmetic items. Yet, it seems like Anet has decided that the production of cosmetic equipment should be under a low budget. We rarely get equipment skins, and when we do, they’re either incomplete, or only available from the cash shop – and almost always pallete swaps.
It’s just an example of how inconsistent Anet is with its own game.
You would think that a heavily cosmetic-driven game would have more unique medium armor by now, or scholar’s male armor that wouldn’t make us spellcasters choose between picking generic cleric cloth or exaggerately ornamented, hyper-realistic, non-sense grabs. :P
well said and i agree completely. In 10 months not a single full armor was added and that ugly creature on gem shop shouldn’t be considered as an armor
Both looks boring with no style in mind. Just lets throw some glowing orange and white stuff and people will like it… No thanks.
I do a dungeon once or twice, just to see it. Once I’m done with it, it’s like a jumping puzzle to me. Why is a jumping puzzle a mini thing, but a dungeon a major thing? That’s just a matter of personal taste.
So you pretty much do nothing in pve in all mmo’s? GW2 doesn’t have any quality dungeons that’s for sure but doing a fun dungeon such as Underworld just once in gw1 is just stupid in opinion. Not only its fun/challenging but is hugely rewarded not only with money but rare skins as well, which you can’t get anywhere else. What do you get from a jumping puzzle? A green if you’re lucky.

I played Guild Wars 1 for five years. Did Underworld once, Fissure of Woe a couple of times (maybe three), The Deep once, Urgoz’s Warren once, DOA once. I did do some dungeons more than others, but dungeons weren’t my main thing. I did, however, like vanquishing an awful lot.
Dungeons to me have always been contrived. I prefer big fights to boss battles, I hate the term trash mob and I’ve never liked the trinity. Why would I like dungeons?
Again, this comes under a matter of personal taste. What might surprise you is that there are a whole lot of people out there just like me. The kinds of people who play games like Dragon Age and Skyrim…THOSE kinds of dungeons I don’t mind.
I guess it has to do with immersion. Dungeons in MMOs tend to pull me out of the game, because of the stupid, repetitive mechanics. Even the Jormag fight, same thing. You run here, you run there, you know where to stand, you’ know what he’ll do. It’s not interesting or exciting to me.
In a dungeon in Guild Wars 1, you knew what was around every corner. How is that fun or exciting?
I don’t know, I think it’s just a different thought process.
But gw1 had amazing pvp which isn’t the case in gw2 so not liking/being tired of available dungeons is fine because you had dat legendary pvp you can play all day and not be bored. Here we don’t have any pvp i would even call half decent, no content but fotm for pve, but they find time to add mini everything in every patch. Patch comes, they throw you a mini jumping puzzle and a mini boring dungeon with nothing in it worth doing it for unless you like to collect Masterwork items… Its like HERE!!! take these mini pets and go collect them, its what we offer as gameplay… Same could be said with their “rewards”. Take our new skins and go do what you’ve been doing for the passed 10 months…

I didn’t like PvP at all in Guild Wars 1 and hardly ever played it. When I did it was usually Jade Quarry or Alliance Battles. I had no real interest in Guild Wars 1 PvP.
As I said different strokes.
you played it for 5 years and didn’t like its pvp nor liked it dungeons, what exactly were you doing in a game like that where dungeons/pvp shines?

what the hell is everybody talking about?….THERE"S A FRIKKING QUAGAN SHOW! A…QUAGAN…SHOW! OMG!
gw as a whole is becoming more and more goofy with every patch, soon it will require a Kinect to play and combat will be you waggling your hands like a ~~~~~
10 new mini games, rewards, rewards ,rewards and that’s it. Here’s your patch notes. I like their new weapons but if there’s nothing added to use them in why should i care about a weapon/armor skin? I want content to play… Add new fractals, release this stupid fractal 50 barrier, make a new very challenging dungeon, just do something!!!!!! i don’t want your free skins, i want things to do.
Because dungeons/fractals are the only content that matters. (coughs).
I think a whole lot of people are going to like the racing minigame…but what do I know?
okay so what else matters, WvW? Like what do you do with new skins? Not only that but last time they added anything to pve that has half decent longevity was fotm which received no new additions since and hardlocked at lev50. Like the update comes, i will get dat staff which looks cool but then what? I don’t care about their mini games made for your girlfriend so i pretty much has nowhere but wvw to use their new skin… how fun.
For some people jumping puzzles matter. I happen to like some of the guild missions, those matter. I particularly like rushes, though I find them challenging. And you know, I like some of the stuff. I liked Dragonball a lot, except for the stupid AFKers. I like the look of the race that’s coming up.
Dungeons are, and have always been, my least favorite parts of an MMO.
Think about this. The reason why Guild Wars 1 wasn’t considered a true MMO is because it didn’t have a persistent world. It was a lobby game.
But if you play an MMO and you do mostly dungeons, all you’re doing is standing around in cities until your queue pops, you’re playing a lobby game anyway. Instanced content is not something that makes an MMO an MMO.
I’ve been waiting for a long time for an MMO to take the open world seriously. I thought Rift would do it (and maybe they have by now) but this is the first time I’ve really enjoyed the open world of a game.
We failed the Balthazar Temple event tonight, but I was there and it was a close thing. It’s a tough fought battle to keep those guys alive. It’s not a dungeon, but I really enjoy it. In fact, I enjoy the entire event chain in Straits, all the way to the temple.
Liking jumping puzzles is fine but that’s not exactly what keeps you logging in daily. Jumping puzzles have zero longevity, you do them once (if you even care about them) and move on. To what exactly their flashy new Zenith skins serve to, doing jumping puzzles? This is what i don’t understand… They add mini dungeons, mini games, mini jumping puzzles… I WANT SOMETHING THAT ISN’T MINI lol. Guess i’ll do what i’ve done every passed patch with their “free rewards banaza, just press F and collect everything”, get their Zenith staff/GS, do a lev48 fotm and log out.

/goes back playing Metro LL and TLOU on survivor.
do anything to fotm, just do something! its the only pve content in this game and its hardlocked at lev50 for months wtf

Nice on killing dat Chaos Armor, brah… What’s new?
You read all of this and there’s three things you notice in caps everywhere. REWARDS, ACHIEVEMENTS (yay right?…) and GEM STORE (with every patch). So disappointing.

I use it in pve and main staff/gs on a shatter build. I would say its more useful than boon stripping (which i only take for certain situations such as the dredge fractal) or GS mastery. You have to be an illusionary Wave spammer tho, and its something i never see any1 doing, sadly. iWave/Chaos Storm/Diversion makes Halting Strike pretty decent but in my opinion not ‘great’ and they need to make it deal more damage or fuse the other trait that gives conditions per rupt together (also change those condis because what is given per rup are all crappy condis).
Staff is much more useful for pvp. Phase Retreat alone makes this weapon very useful for immobilized bursts you’ll be getting
Havok use in gw2 is so low its laughable. This game is as static as a game on N64.

Ugliest armor ever implemented in a video game. the best part is they charge you $10 for it.
Ranger of course
Cool looking weapons but are they adding any content in which we can actually use them in?
Insig, you’re wasting your time here… The large majority of people on this forum are blindly supporting anet as a hardcore microsoft fanboy would justify DRM and pay dat $500 for weak console. They’re happy collecting minis, stand in LA, wait for free new anet skins, stand in LA with free new skins, may do a daily, buy some gems and stand in LA some more. This is what GW2 is about, stand in a town and talk to people… No matter how you try, its impossible to get any more casual. Don’t bother arguing with a ‘mini pet collector’ because to them gameplay feels as it should, do nothing and receive free reward twice per month from anet, YAY so fun.
This thread merits a dev response. I don’t want gw2 to become Farmville of MMO’s in a year…
So i just finished The Last of Us and i loved spamming bricks on all enemies, give me a brick to melee on an engi!
They will come back, craft their legendary, play for a week and quit again. Why? because there’s no content to use your legendary (or any other skin anet is spamming with every update) in. What are you gonna do, boring dungeons everyone left? There’s nothing to do with a legendary or not.
I would rebuild it on cry engine 3 instead of this outdated crap gw2 currently has. But then if with this early 2000’s graphics we get 20fps in wvw, i can just imagine what kind of fps we’d be getting on a CE3. Or Frosbite, go kitten i would like to see destruction in this game like games in this current decade!! not like something that was released in 1996…
haha that Microsoft comment. anyway, i’ve read everything (yes omfg a Fort of text) and you described perfectly how i feel about gw2 after reaching max level and doing all dungeons (which was about 2 months after game’s launch). I wouldn’t even be writing this if the ps4 or PSO2 was released but they aren’t, so im still playing gw2 because there’s nothing much im interested in. But when they’re are out and if gw2 stays in same game state, this is an uninstall of the game guaranteed because there’s nothing for me to do in it. I would like to keep playing this game in six months but give me a reason to log in and that reason isn’t something stupid such as “make a legendary” or “play wvw”. Sadly, i don’t think anet understands because in 10 months even Microsoft would have understood this game NEEDS END GAME.
this looks better than all light armors in the game
One thing i don’t understand and something that makes no sense whatsoever is how the hell a Bear deals low damage? A BEAR!!!! but a ******* pigeon cough owl deals a lot of damage, lol anet. Personally i ignore Bears everywhere. in pve i run double spider (at range they die less at least) for immobilize and aoe poison, for pvp anything but a Bear.
A class designed in 24h.

In Dark Souls 2
If you had the opportunity to change boons and conditions given by Chaos Storm, which would they be? Everything but Fear, Stun and Stability is available. You also need to chose three conditions (yes im aware it has 4 right now) and three boons for dat rng.
For boon i’d like Aegis, Protection and Regeneration. For condis i would like Daze, Immobilize and Burning. Now that would be ‘Chaos’ Storm!
I really don’t think it will be moved because while we generate clones we loose dodging as defence. Many times when I dodge twice to get clones I’m left in a position where I get hit because I can’t avoid it. Where as IC has no downside.
We have plenty of utilities to get out even if we have no dodge tho AND you should use sigil of energy especially when running shatter builds. That said, if they move DE to 30 Dueling i’d have to take it over anything but if they change it completely (like give it a 5-10sec CD) this is a game uninstall without question. Mez is the only class i enjoy playing almost a year after game’s launch and if this class defining trait is nerfed then this class is gone for good. Mesmer relies on illusions for attack and defense, if we have no illusions mesmer isn’t mesmer anymore.
Took me 769h for my first exotic drop. Drops in this game are known to be pathetic
All i can really say is, im absolutely amazed at how many people are blind on this forum, its pretty impressive. If you think ranger is useful or deals acceptable amount of damage, your theory is so wrong its laughable. GW2’s ranger is like a class from a completely different game, a class built in a game where high dps is not tolerated (Teletubbies MMO).
Its my main set for pve for the passed 2.4k hours, it doesn’t just work great (i run shatter 24/7 so im talking about shatter builds here) it works better than Sword/X with staff or whatever. For certain mobs that you can ballup with TC in dungeons focus is needed but those that move a lot staff/gs with 20/20/0/0/30 is the best.
What would you do if Deceptive Evasion was moved to Dueling Grandmaster trait? Seeing what they’ve done to IC, it wouldn’t be surprising because its the other Mez trait absolutely everyone uses.
‘Having more than one controllable skill for a pet would be too hard for new players’ you know this game is aimed at casuals who play two hours a week when something as stupid is said.
I think that a precursor for something like 6k point would make sense because that much points not everyone has and not something you get in a month.
took me 4 months to get a freaking sword (daily 20-38-48) so i know what you mean lol
