Ummm…. kinda difficult to think of what might suit all of your needs in one character but the best I can think of might be a warrior.

You seem to have 3 main criteria (correct me if I am wrong):
1. high damage for pve
2. survivability in pvp/wvw
3. easier to play

A dsp build warrior is always welcome in dungeons/fractals/raids; warriors are more forgiving if your reactions are not up there with the “1%” of players thanks to better vit and toughness; and, you can re-spec/re-gear your warrior to tank in wvw to soak up the damage for your party while they dps. Anyways, maybe someone else might have some ideas.

My only concern is from the communities standpoint the Elite-spec for the Warrior, and the class itself is low-man on the totem pole, or maybe their wrong, anyone have advice on Warrior builds, or I could look in the Sub-forum, thanks.

So everyone, I need advice on a toon to focus on, or to build up. I’ve played this game since launch, and bought the expansion, which I am having a reasonable amount of fun playing through, and helping my guild members with. I’ve taken breaks in the past and played different games, mostly from the “Survival Genre” and due to several bad run ins with “Non-legit” players, decided to come back here, been back at playing this game for a couple months now, and like I said, enjoying it.

So onto my dilemma(s) with my toons, or toon “Selection” I tend to build my toons “Power/Crit” based with bare essentials when it comes to “Survival/Stun-breaks/Condi-cleanses” ect. Preferring, “Big Ol’ CRITS” over staying alive, kinda like an “All or Nothing” kind of playstyle. But as of recently, I have found out that I possess neither the "Reaction Time’ nor the “Dexterity” in order to maintain these toons in areas like sPvP/WvW, and have decided to adapt myself to these two things (Poor Reaction Time, and Dexterity Issues.) and think of ways I could change my toons, or make a new one all together.

I was thinking of a class/build that centers around having good survivability, and wins it’s fights in sPvP/WvW through attrition, and not raw DPS, or a toon that is Condi-centric and has ways to deal with conditions, or being bursted, ect. Again, due to me two a fore mentioned reasons, I need to adapt my playstyle to something slower paced and having more survivability, ect.

In PvE, I would like to Raid, and do the occasional Dungeon/Fractal for mostly skins, or necessary income, ect. I am well aware that most any build/class can do well in open-world PvE, but I would like to be a “Go-to” class and be seen as an asset to my group, or feel like I am being trully effective in PvE in general.

In cases like sPvP/WvW, again due to poor reaction time and dexterity problems, I feel I need to be a little more tank and a little less spank, beating my enemies through attrition or they just plain give up, or get mad and make mistakes, ect. maybe a condition build would be good?

As with my current toons, I like my Herald the most, and my Daredevil the LEAST… my toons are in exotics, with some ascended items, mostly just trinkets though, what I would like to do is take my four level 80s gear, scrap it down, sell it off and create ONE toon to get fully kitted with ascended, and have a legendary weapon for both land and water, ect.

As always, I am very thankful to those who can help me out and I really appreciate the time everyone kittenponds, and reads takes, Thanks!

Need Advice on a Toon to Focus on.

Odokuro.5049

Hey all, it’s me again, asking for some advice/suggestions from my fellow Guild Warsians, about Class recommendations based on my likes/needs, and as always huge hugs and smiles to those who can help me out!

So just a list of what I like to do in Guild Wars 2, and my personal needs.

I tend to stay mostly in a PvE setting, preferring to Farm Events, work on map completion, gather materials, ect. I also rather enjoy running in WvW with my guildmates, and I jump into sPvP for dailies, and some Rank matches to work on Reward tracks, ect. I’ve played Guild Wars 2 since release and bought HoT when it came out, which I enjoy a lot, outside of forced meta-event participation for map completion, ect.

What I need personally is a class that, doesn’t require constant swapping of attunements/kits/stances ect. and can work with their weapon swaps, and what they have on their bar, to get the job done. A class that is pretty straight forward with their rotation and skill use, I like a challenge, but having to put in 3x the work to perform the same as another class at the same task, frustrates me to no end.

I was thinking of Mesmer(Chrono) because the idea of having Illusions up to do the bulk of the fighting sounds nice, and I know that most Raid groups bring atleast one along. I was also thinking, Necro(Reaper) because they seem to be useful, and they perform very well in WvW, ect.

Also on a side/sad note, in my years of playing this game, NEVER have I had any toon outfitted entirely in Ascended gear, outside maybe my trinkets…. so I want to consolidate my wealth, ect. and try to get this new toon into a full ascended set, with infusions vital/mighty, and maybe even one of the new legendary items (never had one of these either….)

Thanks again to those who manage to make it through my wall of text, and mumbling, if you need any clarification on what I mean, please ask!

1. They need to make our Stances and Facets work underwater.
2. They either remove the Weapon swap or give us another option such as Speargun.

I hate jumping into water, and being totally broken, especially in a setting like WvW where water fights happen frequently.

People unwilling to adapt

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Odokuro.5049

Odokuro.5049

There where a few things I had to do when HoT came out and I was playing through it’s content.

1. Slow Down and Think: I couldn’t just plow through everything like I did in the Core Game, and I had to Think about how to handle situations with mobs, bosses, and other mechanics.
2. Have Patience: Like it my previous adaption, I had to have patience and look around for an active map for “X” meta-event, ect. I couldn’t just blaze through it, I had to sit back and be patient.

Doing these things, HoT opened up to me, and I was able to have an enjoyable time. I believe people are just way too stubborn and caught up in themselves, and dare I say it “selfish” and think that because they spent “X” money on it, that they somehow are entitled to a game custom tailored to how they want it to be, so they can have everything on a silver platter…

I agree with you, there needs to be different Tiers, where the lower ones would ease people into the mechanics, and have lower rewards, and be somewhat easier. The higher you go the harder it gets, but the rewards pick up, ect.

Stop gating map completion with events

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Odokuro.5049

Odokuro.5049

I agree with the OP, completing a map shouldn’t be gated behind the success of certain meta-events, ect. Events should be there to do if you “Want to” not “Well I need this event to be successful so I can get this POI/HP/Vista/WP ect.”…. Getting map completion in HoT is challenging enough, having to depend on certain events to be successful, which 7 out of 10 times, they aren’t, is frustratingly annoying to say the least.

HoT = Burnout

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Odokuro.5049

Odokuro.5049

A few things that are Burning me out right now in HoT:
1. Map completions: A lot of the places you need to get to in order to get that POI/HP/Vista/WP and Mastery Points, are either gated off by Events that you MUST complete in order to get to them, not to mention the maps are confusing the difficult to navigate, it’s beyond aggravating to have to navigate a darn maze of a map just to get Map completion, been working on it since the launch of HoT and only have Verdant Brink done, and stuck in Auric Basin due to Event gated areas, and being confused AF on where to go…

2. Collections: Trying to get all I need so I can get my Revenant his skins, but there again, ANet decides to gate things behind the fake “Challenge” wall and just make it one huge hassle…

We get it ANet you wanted people to slow down and explore the maps, and participate in the events you all came up with, but gating off or making the maps confusing AF, isn’t fun at all…

Tips/Critiques on Fresh Herald Build.

in Revenant

Posted by: Odokuro.5049

Odokuro.5049

Devastation you should be taking Assassin’s Presence.

Invocation you should be taking Roiling Mists.

That is a lot of Ruby Orbs. Replace with other stuff as you get money to buy them. Sigil of Force for Sword. Runes for DPS later on. Rage runes are pretty Cheap and provide a nice DPS add over Ruby. Strength runes are the expensive but generally ideal option for all around game play (group, solo, etc).

WvW depends on what you’re going to be doing in WvW.

In WvW, I plan mostly on doing Group Havoc stuff, and Solo-Roaming.

Thanks for the advice.

I do plan on swapping out my Armor and two of my trinkets (Rings or Earrings) to Marauders for the extra HP cushion that that would provide me.

I also plan on entering WvW soon, so advice on what I would have to change for that would also be very welcomed, thanks!

@ Kal Spiro: You could, if you plan on having a Mystic Forge in your back pocket, during a Raid, which you might need to “On the spot” change up your Build, and gear for whatever reason.

@ Obtena: Well there easy to get as long as you have the Laurels ect. for them, we got a big rush of new players when the Core game went F2P, as well as the rush of new players with the HoT launch, so not everyone have a few hundred “X” laying around to get them.

All in all, with all the people saying, “Not required unless for High level fractal”, “Ascended items aren’t that much better than Exotics”, “You really don’t need them to stay competitive”. For all those reasons and more, I believe that Ascended crafting should be looked at again, in terms of time/money investment, and make it more of a reasonable goal for someone new/casual to the game who like I said, doesn’t have access to disposable income to just toss at getting Ascended items.

He’s still going to need Ascended gear for fractals, even if he is a casual player, casual players still participate in High-tier play.

I get what the OP is saying, it’s a pretty daunting task to gather what is needed, not to mention the time investment for a single set of gear, sure you can switch the stats with inscriptions/insignias but, overtime that get’s pretty costly as well.

With the new content, and Raids coming out, your going to have to be flexible, and not everyone is going to have sets of gear/weapons to swap out/in for different builds.

HoT Mobs are great, people need to learn to take out the “Prime” targets first. None of the mobs are hard if you know how to deal with them or pay attention…

Human Deity choice?

in Revenant

Posted by: Odokuro.5049

Odokuro.5049

Hey all, coming here to ask all your guys/gals opinions on, which Human Deity best suits the Revenant class purely on its lore/core mechanics. Reason I ask is I am pretty nit-picky about my characters setup and back ground, so I just want to get some insight, or if you chose to be a Human Revenant, which Deity did you choose, and why?

The two I thought of was:
1. Balthazar, because of how brutal this class’s skill set seems to be, and being able to attune to different Legends to grant them power on the battlefield.
2. Grenth, well at the base, the Revenant is defined as a visible ghost, or animated corpse, and Grenth being the god of Death, ect. I thought this would also be fitting.

Thanks to those who reply, means a lot.

HoT short negative review SPOILER

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Odokuro.5049

Odokuro.5049

I’ll try to explain some of these questions you had or things you obviously missed.

1. Braham took his mothers body back to Holbrak (City of the Norn.) to perform a ceremony held by the Norns which is something their people are accustomed to do in such an event.
2. What’s to check up on, she served her purpose in giving us visions of what is to come, and what must be done.
3. Revelations where had, it was disclosed to us through the story how Mordremoth was creating his armies, that the egg was to be used to create an allied Elder Dragon like Glint, That all Sylvari where not sheep, and if they where strong willed and mentally sound they could resist or almost shut out Mordremoth’s orders.
4. In Rata Novus we found out that their was a lot of information, but not much on weaknesses, if they enhanced this part of the story it would of been a bit of a tiresome ordeal.
5. Zojja and Logan both survived, after freeing Zojja (Which was the most damaged from Mordremoth trying to turn her into a puppet, she even was able to have her clones tell us what to do.) Logan was seen standing up and alert being taken away to heal up after what happened to both him and Zojja.
6. During the story missions, Sylvari would become dazed and your party members would see you as a Red name, and you would see them as a Yellow name, You heard voices and the blurry effects would make it very challenging.
7. We didn’t “Think” Mordremoth to death, our minds where sent through a Portal that Trahearne summoned with his last ounce of strength to send us to the Dream and Defeat Mordremoth’s mind, the only tangible or most logical source to attack, seeing as how he literally couldn’t be killed by normal means, those means being what Braham described pre-fight with Mordremoth.
8. Mordremoth did look quiet odd, however that wasn’t his physical self, it was a form of his self that his mind conjured up, a lot of the cinematics and cut scenes showed him underground, deep in the earth, that’s the real him, and he looked great from what was revealed.

I’m sorry that you didn’t enjoy it, bugs and problematic glitches where bound to happen soon after launch, no testing is going to 100% safeguard a game from having a few hiccups along the way, I am sure that after they take what bug reports they are getting, that we will see improvements over-time, we will just have to be patient, and not expect perfection.

He’s only level 12 but I just feel like he’s going to be a beast at level 80.

On a side note, he’s a human, I chose Kormir as his Deity because of the blindfold over Kormir’s eyes, thinking it made sense, but I am not too sure, which Human Deity makes the most sense with the class?

But mistakes where made, and if you have to retry it, that’s when the bugs kick in, like others have said, portals floating in space, him using all his abilities from the start, updrafts/gliders not working, npcs not doing what they supposed to, ect.

It would be a great fight, if the bugs weren’t so numerous.

Hearts and Minds (Final HoT Story) BUGGED.

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Odokuro.5049

Odokuro.5049

After several attempts last night, either while trying it “Solo” or “Grouped” the final fight with Mordremoth was bugged.

Things I experienced and/or team mates experienced where:
1. Gliders refusing to work, ending it dying to the Condition damage on the ground.
2. Invisible Rocks that he throws to knock you down.
3. Places where the portals spawned the ground underneath them would be gone.
4. NPC’s wouldn’t do anything but stay grouped up in a ball.
5. Failing on your first attempt, would spell certain doom for you and your group due to Mordremoth using all his abilities he gets throughout the fight, in the very first phase of the fight.
6. Being inside Braham’s Shield bubble would not safeguard you against the attack, like the option to “Block it or take Flight” suggests….

Hoping this gets fixed soon, I am enjoying this Expansion VERY much, and would just like to finish the story.

ANet might've overreacted?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Odokuro.5049

The more I come to the HoT Forum the more I regret it, and the more it makes my head hurt…

I knew that after they lowered the Hero Point cost for unlocking Elite Specs, that there would be another flood of these, “Salty tear filled posts” about how people feel they where lied to, and how the content is too hard and takes too much time and effort, and they should be given everything upfront because they fill entitled to it because they bought the expansion…

Yes, you bought the expansion, you get to play the game, but, that doesn’t mean you won’t have hardships and aggravating moments during gameplay, it doesn’t mean you won’t have to work for things, and put hours/days/weeks ect. towards achieving something in-game.

I swear it’s this new generation of gamer, or people new to MMOs in general, that they all just feel overly entitled to everything, and believe that if it isn’t obtainable by minimal efforts, that it’s too hard and it’s a grind, and should be made easier.

A lot of people say, “Well if they keep it this challenging, people aren’t going to stick around”. Well guess what, if they water down everything, people are going to blaze through it and leave too, because it’s boring?

ANet needs to keep the challenging content, yet maybe implement shinier carrots?

If I ever hear the term “entitled” referring to gamers who paid full price for a game they didn’t realize would be too challenging for them or too difficult, I’m going to bury my head in my hand. This is a video game. You shouldn’t HAVE to work to have fun.

I repeat. You shouldn’t HAVE to work to have fun. If thats how you DO have fun? Good for you. Thats your personal tastes as a gamer, thats what you look for in content. Not everyone does. Right now you are able to work for your fun and you’re happy, so kindly and politely stop commenting about how others see the game.

Not everyone is going to hate or love the new content and there will be disagreements on what was done well and what was a mistake, but theres no need to start acting like people complaining are “entitled” or whatever word you want to throw around to imply they’re wrong for feeling the way they feel. Grow up.

So far there are a lot of people having issues with the new content. Players paid full price for a paid for expansion, and not all of them were under the assumption that “challenging new content” was meant to describe a majority of the expansion. In fact, just going by ANets history of GW2 in general, it should have been safe to assume that most content would be relatively casual that would ramp up when you go into challenges, Bosses, end game events and eventually Raids. I doubt most people just assumed that typical world events you needed to cross to get to just random parts on the map would be fairly difficult.

Anet most likely should have communicated that better to the playerbase as a whole.

Alright fair enough, but shouldn’t there be some level of work involved to complete challenges? I see a lot of these types of posts made, rants, complaints, rages, bordering on crying, but with very little to no suggestions on how to improve it without turning the stick around and giving the short end to those players who like myself, enjoy the game (HoT Expansion) as is.

When you buy a car, do you drive it for free? Or are there other things like, licenses/registering it/insuring it/putting gas in it/maintaining it ect? I know this is a pretty far fetched comparison, but the point is, buying an expansion should not safeguard you from things outside your comfort zone, many peoples complaints I see are all about how things “Take too long” or “Can’t be solo’d” or “Too hard to…” which most things they are complaining about, are common place in most MMOs, which makes me think their either new to MMOs in general or they’re used to playing games that present content in a easily reachable/obtainable format and the idea of having the invest time/effort and having to wait for things, just totally unravels their world.

Like I get it, I paid $50.00 USD for this game, but I already knew from reading articles, watching streams/youtube videos, and listening to my friends who played during the beta weekends that they “The Devs” mentioned it would be more challenging and group mechanics would change or be needed, meaning not everything would be a solo-cake walk to the finish line.

I understand that people want to enjoy the game, that people want to complete objectives how they want, either alone or in a group of players, but we don’t always get what we want, and it is virtually impossible to please every type of player, somethings will never change, accept it and adapt.

Following the changes to the amount of Hero Points needed to fully unlock the Elite Spec, my bet is the next change/nerf will be:

The EXP cost of Training Masteries will be reduced along with the amount of Mastery Points needed, making them quicker to obtain.

My reasoning is, that seeing as the cost of unlocking your Elite Spec was changed due to countless “Complaint Threads” made, now there will be something else that will be, “Too Hard” or “Too Grindy” or “Too Time Consuming” ect. and we will see countless more threads about it, and BAM, “New Build Available in 10 Minutes”. will be seen across our screens.

In the end, there will be countless threads saying, “I’m bored, there is nothing to do!” or “Some expansion, where the heck is the content.” or “I finished my personal story on the first day after playing for a few hours.” ect.

Then we call can sit back, and say, “We told you so.” when everyone is bored off their rockers when they where able to get everything unlocked and finished with the first several hours…

I really hope they launch a new build to fix this, I would like to be able to kill him, because it’s a relatively simple fight, granted that they fix it so everything works…

Yeah, I just got to the fight for the first time, failed because I thought if I hid in Braham’s Shield bubble, as it being one of the options (Take flight or BLOCK) I would be fine…

Not the case, I simply got nailed to death by the attack, second try and the Rift and Braham are both airborne and me thinking, “Maybe I can land on it, or stand where Braham is STANDING I could do it!” Nope, negative on that thought, fell and died. Then got to the last phase, Mordremoth was almost dead, and the drafts didn’t work, didn’t bounce me up, and didn’t work when I glided into them, so I died…. On the last attempt, he had all his abilities going, and there was little I could do, I died due to his wall coming up as a dodged him melee attack which through me into his well, then the bolts of torment rained down on me and I died.

On a side note though, it’s nice to read it’s not just me and this instance is bugged…

When PvE Raiding is Released.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Odokuro.5049

What does everyone believe will be the best group composition for once Raiding in PvE is released, do you believe it will stay true to the current “Zerker Meta” with Warriors/Eles/Mesmers/Guardians being the go-to classes or do the Elite Specs change up enough to bring more “Diversity” to the group mechanic?

With what little we know about how Raids will be performed, but knowing they will be hard, require a strong well organized group, and not everyone will be able to “Complete” them due to what is needed to be done to not reach the “Enrage Timer” who or what (Class/Spec) will make the cut, and what (Class/Spec) won’t due to not being seen as “Essential” by the community as a whole?

All in all, I am excited to see what Raids will be like, and I am excited to do them with my Guildies and Friends.

Thank you for your replies on this discussion.

Hey all, I was wondering between the two, which has better survivability and useability in the different areas in the game, such as, sPvP/PvE/WvW and soon Raiding?

I’ve been playing as a Thief for a while now, and since the Expansion came out, I feel I need a Melee orientated toon with higher survivability, that will serve me well in Raids/PvE most, with short (For dailies) stints in sPvP/WvW?

8-9/10

I feel the Elite Spec could be less Hero Point intensive, that way I personally could get a better feel for it and not feel like I just blew 400 Hero Points on something I regret.

Other than that, the Artwork and the Map Design, New Creatures ect. along with the other Content added in this expansion, I am REALLY enjoying myself and finding the Challenging content to be to my liking.

What do people have against putting in any real effort and time to do anything nowadays. Last several years, I see countless threads among the popular MMO’s Forums, all made by people up-in-arms, about how hard this is, or how much a grind that is, ect.

It’s called progression, to progress in this game you need to put in effort, and the desire to better your character such as unlocking your Elite Spec, and soon Raids, I really hope ANet keeps up with the challenging content, and doesn’t cave to the people who want everything streamlined, just log in, and BOOM, everything handed to them.

I like the challenge this expansion presents, please don’t kill it just because you can’t bring yourselves to invest yourself into working towards bettering your character.

Questions on Warrior.

I have a few questions about being a Warrior, that hopefully the Warrior forum community can answer!

1. How well do Warriors perform in the available game-types? (sPvP/PvE/WvW.)
2. Will Warriors have a strong role in say Raiding?
3. What Build or Builds am I looking at for PvE/WvW/sPvP?
4. Are Warriors good at surviving, or do you find Warriors need to kite more than being Direct and Aggresive in fights. (Melee).
5. Progression wise, are Warriors slow/medium/fast as far as pace through content?

Thanks for your help, have a great day!

1. How well do Warriors perform in the available game-types? (sPvP/PvE/WvW.)
for sPvP : Good. not that great but not that bad. I would say warrior is in the middle : well balanced.

2. Will Warriors have a strong role in say Raiding?
idk becuz it look like wvw question.

3. What Build or Builds am I looking at for PvE/WvW/sPvP?
sPvP : ShoutBow or GreatAxe. If you are beginner, ShoutBow is perfect choice for you.
Check link below to find ShoutBow build.

4. Are Warriors good at surviving, or do you find Warriors need to kite more than being Direct and Aggresive in fights. (Melee).
sPvP perspective, yeah. Very good.
Shout Warrior is one of high sustaining class with dd cele ele in this game.

5. Progression wise, are Warriors slow/medium/fast as far as pace through content?
idk.

Sorry. I only answered PvP part of your question.

By Raiding I meant the Raids we will be able to do is HoT, not WvW Zerging.

I want to experience this game, anew.

in Players Helping Players

Odokuro.5049

As the title says, I want to experience this game, anew.

I played pretty regularly for the first one and a half to two years of Guild Wars 2, then took a break and for the past two or so months been getting back into playing pretty much everyday.

Since my return, I’ve played as a Engineer, a Guardian, and for the most part now as a Thief, I grew tired of the past two classes due to not feeling like they were the “IT” class for me, and I needed something more “Direct” so I chose the Thief thinking it’s High Damage and Stylish attacks was going to be enough to keep my attention for the long haul and keep it as my “Main”.

As time went on and with the release of HoT I feel my interest in being a Thief dropping, not to mention the Elite Spec just doesn’t look/feel attractive to me in the slightest bit, so along with a few other reasons, I want to start back at page one, and enjoy the game from the beginning.

My toons weren’t geared up past exotics, with my thief being the only one with one piece of ascended armor and one ascended weapon… (Both of which I got in chests.)

So I came to the forums, more importantly the “Players Helping Players” forum in the hopes of getting some help and encouragement from my fellow players, with finding a class to re-experience this game and HoT with, as well as make it my new “Main” toon to finally gear up to the utmost tier in Guild Wars 2: HoT.

Things I am looking for in the class/build:
1. Straight forward, as far as a “Rotation” goes and when to use what skill/weapon ect.
2. Direct/Aggressive, I’m not one to like depending on kiting being a “MUST” it most situations, I realize sometimes I will need to step back and range a target down, or buy some time until I attack again, but, for the most time, I want to get in there and reck face.
3. A Strong Role, with the introduction of Raids and the new content (Maps/Elite Specs. ect.) I want to make sure that the Role I am playing is one that is of primary importance to the group, and the success of the mission/raid ect.
4. Well-Rounded, as for gameplay, I do it all sPvP/WvW/PvE, but I feel like most of my time will be spent in Raids/General PvE stuff, along with WvW (Roaming/Group with little time spent Zerging).
5. Good Looking, I know what looks “Good” to one, may not look “Good” to another, but if I am going to invest in getting Legendary Armor/Weapons ect. I want to make sure I look GREAT, which to me narrows it down to Heavy armor because Heavy armor seems to have more definitive features to it over, most other armor types.

Thanks and Praise to those who can get through all this text, and help me along!

I don’t mean to be “That Guy” or play the “Devils Advocate”, But…

Just because you pay for a game, doesn’t mean there will not be work needed to be done in order for you to unlock something, to gain access to something.

I know that the 400 Hero Points can seem overwhelming, but like most, I believe people are blowing it way out of proportion, and if you REALLY want it, you’ll step out of your comfort zone of “Give it to me for nothing, because I bought it…” and work towards it.

I don’t know, maybe I’m just the type of guy that prefers to have to put honest work and effort into something, so when I get it or complete the objective, it feels nice, like I achieved something, you know?

I’ll be honest with you, unless your a class with over-the-top DPS, your mostly going to have a horrid time getting into a Raid as a PUG, maybe not so much with doing it with your Guildies or Friends, but as we see mostly in Dungeons, it’s Warriors/Guardians/Mesmers/Eles, all rocking Full-Zerk, and if I had to guess, Raids will be no different when it comes to what the community wants for builds/gear/classes.

I don’t know why people who play WvW are SO against ANYTHING PvE, I mean I get liking to play against a player controlled target, but me personally, fighting the same servers week after week after week, gets old quick…

I am sure it won’t be over-the-top cost hero-point wise, but it is an elite spec, so I would guess it would be respectably higher than a normal spec unlock, but not so much that people start foaming at the mouth over the cost, lol…

wvw reward tracks

in WvW

Posted by: Odokuro.5049

Odokuro.5049

Not a big KTrainer myself, never been able to enjoy, never really enjoyed spamming my number one key to get credit, because it doesn’t feel like I truly “Contributed” to the success of whatever was going on at that time.

In my first post I was merely stating as to what “Rewards” are already in WvW for players to get, not that I had stacks on stacks of bags/champ bags in my inventory…

I feel like adding reward tracks to WvW would be both a “Good” and a “Bad” thing, reasons being, that it would be a good thing to bring back players who didn’t find WvW “Rewarding” enough to enjoy, it would be bad because you would have a flood of people who don’t want to work with their server, all they would want is whatever is the next “Reward” on their track…

Now if people need to be “Rewarded” in order to have fun in this game, then so be it, I feel that winning in a ZvZ fight, or a downing an opponent, or coming out as first place at the end of the week in WvW to be reward enough, also reading all the drama posts made by the other two servers is my cup of “Reward Tea”…

I am in WvW a lot, and I feel like I get plenty of “Rewards” for what I do there.

You get EXP/WvWEXP/Money/Karma/Champ Loot Bags/Loot Bags ect.

The reason why sPvP seems more “Rewarding” is that you get those “Rewards” in quick succession via the “Reward Tracks”. (Which don’t give all that good of stuff…)
