Since the person you reported didn’t scam any of your friends, I don’t feel as if them reporting that person would be necessary, although making your friends aware of said person as a scammer is as far as I would go with it.
Sometimes mass reporting from people not affected by the person(s) involved can be seen as harassment or needless report spam, and can in fact backfire.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Maybe ANet wants you to have a life outside of its game, putting things on a timer and limiting the time you can invest in something might have people actually getting up from GW2 and doing another hobby or breathing fresh air, opposed to spending 10+ hours a day doing things over and over, and it slows down how fast you can get things so that the people who play casually don’t feel like their being out done and cry on the forums about how its not fair that someone who plays more than 2 hours a day has better and more stuff than them, lol…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I would recommend the Engineer, more universal in what it can accomplish and if your running with guildies and such, the Engi also brings more to the tables besides stealth, lol…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I don’t want anything for “free”.
And I don’t mind putting in effort…if it’s challenging and fun. Grinding for points and materials is not challenging, it’s tedious. And we should expect better than that.
How much more meaningful would a legendary, or even ascended weapon be, if you could say: “I did challenging tasks a,b,c, etc. and gathered a few rare mats from dangerous areas x, y, z, etc.” rather than “I did 2000 simple events to get the karma points I needed for my legendary, in addition to spending some gold.”?
If anything, the second scenario is a handout. It’s dull, not challenging and all it requires is that you be present and marginally competent. And it’s what we currently get in the game. Just show up enough times and you’ll get your legendary.
Understandable, I agree it’s tedious that’s one of the reasons I haven’t gotten a legendary, infact any mats I get or items to try to MForge into a precurser, I give away to friends/guildies or sell on the TP.
I agree time spent in-game and what you get for your time should feel equal, I believe that maybe more routes to getting a legendary should be put in play, but you are forging items into a legendary item afterall, hence the mats.
Again any of the responses I posted where not intended to be seen as an attack or harsh in anyway, I just seem to express myself that way sometimes, lol…

A filter would be great, but everyone no matter their nationality should be able to enjoy every aspect of the game, besides the tool is still in development, like the language toggle in your options menu, I would assume they would be able to put the same toggle in the tool itself.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
This is how games become to easy and people lose interest, when people who play casually to very casually complain that it takes more than what they consider to be a reasonable time frame to complete things such as ascended gear, legenderies, ect. They have a fit and complain the game has too much of a grind or takes too much work, we all want to have fun, we all want to just login and go and play and hoot and hollar, ect. But it games like this one all good things come in time and work, it gives a better sense of accomplishment atleast to me when I actually feel like hey I put in playtime and such to get this item/gear or to this level or get this achievement completed ect, how boring would it be if you logged on and ding you was level 80, best gear in the game, everything was unlocked, every achievement of any type was completed, ect. It would be dull, boring, and mindnumbingly unchallenging to play and I would just go elsewhere.
I love what ANet has given us, and the attention they give to the game to improve it for us is great, if you don’t want to work for it, that’s your problem, but don’t act like its SO hard and get this game turned into something so kitten easy that no-one besides the ones who want free handouts would play it.
/ End Rant
Best of luck….

No offense with this reply to you OP, so please don’t take this as a personal attack, ect.
What I get from your post is that you DO NOT want to work for anything, because to you working towards gear/items ect. = grind/treadmilling.
You want to be able to login and have fun, having things given to you because of my previous statement.
You feel very reluctant to spend any time gaining karma or spending your laurels because the fear of ANet putting in different or better gear will render your karma/laurel items/gear less effective.
I again meant not offense with my reply, it just seems like you want to login and have fun and put NO work into it because it will just end in you being outdone or outclassed later on.
Best of luck, and I hope my harshness wasn’t enough to push you over the edge.
Work? This is a game.
I want to spend time getting better at the professions I enjoy playing rather than spending time getting gear so I can compete. Is that so terrible?
True very true, this is a game.
But to get the most out of your professions, wouldn’t you want great gears, and items?
I do get what your saying, you want to play to have fun and not to compete with the masses, which you can do already, I think you have fallen victim to the “elitist” mentality which is a big part of any game.
Also, not knowing how often you play, but someone casual should be able to once they hit 80 equip themselves with exotics within a week or so, heck exotics aren’t even required to play in the end-game content, I’ve had several friends go full masterworks as odd as that sounds.
Besides WvW and getting into PuG Dungeon runs gear really doesn’t have to be the best of the best, and there’s guilds out there that share your same mentality on login and have fun, and I am willing to bet that if you ask, they could help you get gear if your the type to accept help that is.
I hope you continue to have fun, and just play it how you want, don’t pay attention to the elitists or supposed pushing towards one playstyle.
Best of luck.

Asuran Guardians are cool to look at when their in action, use a staff and cast empower and they do a pole dance lol….
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Engineer is pretty great, going with elixers and using rifle/grenades or flamethrower.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
ANet put the nerf-hammer to any and all good farming areas/de’s.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Level 68+ Rares/Exotics will give you a chance to get 1 to 5 ecto’s (average is 3.)
I tend to Salvage those unless the item sells for more than one ecto’s worth.
I forge together Masterworks that don’t openly sell on the TP for a chance to get a Rare to as I said, Salvage for ecto(s) Blues and below typically don’t sell worth beans anyways, so might as well just straight merch them.
Hope this helped!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Ele’s are great all around, in wvw they typically run D/D and focus on mobility and melting their target(s) down, in sPvP/PvE it’s pretty much the same thing, but in PvE most use staff to stay at a fair distance from the mobs, in dungeons/fractals most go ranged support with a staff, either focusing on dmg or full out supportive heals, ect.
Mesmers in wvw are great roamers, they way they can produce clones/illusions/phantasms is unreal, they have few widely used builds for wvw but most focus on shatter dmg. sPvP they either stick with the shatter dmg. spec or focus on conditions such as confusion, and specing into traits that allow their c/i/p’s to inflict conditions when they die. PvE it’s pretty much power builds that work out very well, with some even going into CC (Crowd Control.) builds such as cripple/chilled or builds focusing on keeping your c/i/p’s alive so they can inflict as much dmg as possible before going poof.
Necromancers in wvw are focusing on conditions mostly due to the new torment, ect. that was released last patch, some still go with laying down wells, ect. but condition builds seem to reign supreme for these guys/gals. sPvP I have been noticing people using minion-centered builds, for keeping spots held, and killing field bosses with ease. dungeons/fractals, the necro’s I party with use wells mostly, they can inflict great damage and allow the necro to stay out of harms way, and they also tend to be great at laying down their wells then pulling dungeon mobs into them, fun fun!
If your looking for a class that has a lot at it’s disposal as in, builds, skills, ect. (Such as your kits.) I would go with Ele because attunement switching and ability to be great in cqc/mid/far ranges makes them very useful.
If your looking for a total role switch go with either Mes/Necro.
My choice: Necro
Reason: Their skills and roles they can fit, match up great with my playstyle.
Hope this helped, and good luck!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
It boils down to most level 80’s not wanting to carry a non-80 through a dungeon, while you might be scaled up to 80, your gear/traits ect. are not, making you significantly weaker and thus, a huge liability because most of the time your either downed or dead, ect.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Does Heightened Focus + Gear really make up for the loss of Precision with having 0 in Arms? I’m rolling with the 30/25/0/0/15 Build (GS/Axe+Mace) and I am doing really well, with Zerk everything, so how do you maintain a good Crit chance w/o the Arms trait line?
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Yeah this just drives out the fun of this dungeon, people used to run AC in droves, but with the changes done to it, the amount of people who actually do it past just getting it done for Dungeon Master requirements is down dramatically!!! I really think that the Chain K/D’s and the sheer amount of Condi DMG from the Spider Queen to be way way too much of a change to make it “Challenging” yeah challenging to the point of no one does it anymore….
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Is there a new setup/build for a zerk type Warrior wanting to do comparable to how it was, pre-patch?
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I created a Warrior pre-patch on the basis of using him for Dungeons such as CoF P1 runs and Farming in general, because my other 80 a Thief, is lacking in those two areas and well I use him for WvW anyways…
My Warrior is currently level 37 and growing, using a GS/Rifle setup for leveling up, what I want to know since the patch and reading all the negative comments on this class, what am I looking at as far as a build that would compete with how well the GS+? did in Dungeon Speed Runs, ect.
Thanks!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I have a level 80 Thief which I use mainly for WvW roaming.
I have a level 80 Ranger which I use very rarely due to WvW having the bulk of my attention ATM, but usually use him for Farming DE’s in Orr.
So I am trying to decide between the three listed in the Topic, mainly because I am looking for a change of pace, and to have a character that will most likely take the Rangers spot for Farming and/or Dungeon runs.
I also have been trying to decide on a race other than Human, lol…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I like working hard and farming those zones/dungeons for the “chance” of getting something amazing, how lame would it be if everyone was running around with legendary weapons, or pre-cursers just popping out of chests all the time. What I would like seen done is the spots people used to farm in droves to be slightly restored so thakittens worthwhile to be there and farm, because not everyone knows the ins and outs of the market and others would rather play the game than going zombie-mode infront of a tp npc for hours….
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Since I’m hopelessly uneducated on how to be a “Power Trader” on the market, I was hoping that farming spots/events was still worth it, and which class performs well in these scenarios, I have a level 80 Thief and a level 80 Ranger.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Is that any better?
Also, I have no idea what my secondary setup should be instead of the SB?
Thanks!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
The above is my current Thief build that I use in WvW, I am a roamer since us Thiefs offer very little when rolling in a Zerg besides random Stealths and Stealth Rezzes. So I would like to know what improvements could be made, and any constructive advice please.
The only concerns I have about my current setup is my Damage, Initiative Use, and Lack of a proper Speed Increase, beyond that I like it.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Umm IS was meant to have a 1200 range, said so in it’s tooltip.
People complaining that ANet FIXED not NERFD, but FIXED it so Thiefs can no longer have a “Get out of jail free card” skill, that has been rumored to be useful up to 2000 range, so pretty much, yes they changed it, but they changed it to how it was spost to work, they didn’t NERF it like everyone is saying…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I have a level 80 Ranger spec’d into LB and he wears all Berserkers, so he’s fairly squishy and I follow around the Zerg to Barrage the heck out of things, and chase down near-dead runners.
But I feel as if I want to be able to go out Solo roaming or be part of smaller strike forces that overturn camps and such, outside of the Zerg, yah know?
So I was wondering out of all the popular Roaming classes, which one seems to be the most user friendly, and will allow me to handle my own vs. others who prefer to do the same thing, currently leveling up a d/p thief, he’s fun, just wondering, lol…
Thanks!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I want to roll a Thief to use as my Roaming char in WvW (Have a level 80 Zerker LB Ranger for Zerg Surfing.) So I want to know for you experienced Thiefs as how to level up, and what seems to be effective in WvW, I have heard to use Asura as my race because of the animation difference and it’s hard telling what their going to do.
Thank you for all those who post!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I for one love the fact that I don’t have to be bullied by some perma-stealth thief popping in/out of stealth just to land a few hits and pop back into stealth, it’s annoying as heck…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Go HUMAN, the only reason people go ASURA is for Pain Inverter but from what I hear it’s been nerfed so, GO HUMAN!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
For fast and easy you could run cof for carrion gears. If you go carrion, I recommend dogs. Sword/dagger and axe/torch seem logical here, along with offhand training. Your healing power is low so don’t even use many BM points. You’ll get mileage out of NM and spirits if you wanted maybe a longbow/condi direction. If not, consider MM and signet of the beastmaster with signet of stone. In fact, something like 30/x/30/x/x should work well here. That’s all I got, anyone else care to chime in?
Great help Sir Chopps!
Looks very promising do you have Sigil/Rune advice as well? Is 1200 Condi Dmg good or should it be higher, and any tactics/tricks to using this to its upmost quality?
Thanks!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I have tried out several setups/builds and can’t seem to find one that best fits me, I would like to know my options for WvW roles, be it rollin with a Zerg or Roaming, just would like to know where we fit in, and how to best do that.
I tend to be liking the faster weapons like the one handers and the SB because of its speed. I just know I can’t afford the Apoth accessories, so maybe do some sort of power/crit build instead, until prices go down on those accessories?
Thanks!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Because the usual setup 4 warriors 1 mesmer is far better in terms of damage and speed, people don’t care that you can get the job done, they care about doing it as fast as possible in as little time as possible, so yeah most people consider us to be dead weight, and pretty worthless when comparing our damage to that of a warriors 100b… Sad but true, so until ANet actually makes each and every class a welcomed addition to ANY group setting, we’re pretty much going to have to suffer from being bullied and thought of as the worst prof in the game.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Pet’s play a big part in your overall dps/damage, so having points in BM like 15 is recommended but not necessary, I run a full 30 in BM because I like pets, and IRL I have many animals that are important to me. But the reason I put 30 in BM is I am a melee ranger and well, since my pets will be along side me they get hit often, thus the need for keeping them alive through 30 BM.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I am looking for a build that I can use that doesn’t use cleric’s/apothecary’s gear, maybe knight’s or soldier’s that has survivability and does well in small groups/roaming in wvwvw.
The reason I say non-regen is the low hp makes me afraid that I will get one-hit by the roaming big-rig trucks out there, so yeah.
I was thinking something like 0/20/20/0/30 or something along those lines because I feel that pet’s are important to some degree and want them around for as long as possible so they can do their thing, and assist in the damage output.
Thanks.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Let the guy/gal play what he/she wants, if you want to try a Ranger in WvWvW, then go for it, don’t listen to all the negative people, go and have fun!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
There is a very strong gs, s/d build out there. Don’t know specifics exactly but it has high regen from multiple sources, numerous evades, great mobility and good dps. Better sustain and mobility than an ele and can deal with bursty classes better as well.
Here you go:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fMAQNAR8YjEVV2BWKWs2BCWhD9e0qY1e3DRFqOdxKlIB-j0xAoLBZyBE9JwZvioxW3KiGryGT9SEVDA-w
Some of the traits look odd for this build, theres next to none chance for crit, either of those pets give you boons so I have no idea on those trait choices.
Thanks though I will give it a try.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Condition with apothecary. You won’t die.
So axe/torch + sword/dagger?
I have a build in mind for it, but would you happen to know a pretty standard one to go with?
Thanks for your reply!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I am trying to find out some current builds for us Rangers that work well in and out of the Zerg.
Currently I am running a power based regen build with GS/S+WH, the low hp has me worried and I pray that the regen will do its thing.
Any help would be VERY appreciated as I would like to immerse myself into WvW asap.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
For traps I would suggest pets that slow/cripple/immobilize ect. Because your obviously going to want your target(s) to stay in your traps as long as possible, a good combo is to use a Wolfs F2 abilitie to fear them, then use Entangle, and plant a Spike/Frost trap under them, this will slow them to a crawl or halt them, and if the Entangle doesn’t work the Fear will cause them to run away from you so line your traps up respectively and wallah you got them to run through all your traps!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I use a combo of the Reef/Salamander Drakes in all aspects of Gw2 (PvE/WvW/Dungeons.) The only exception is when I do sPvP, I use Drake Hound/Wolf because sPvP seems to be faster paced with fewer targets so, the Canines work really good here. With the Drakes F2 abilities your going to definitely use it wisely, either after rooting the target(s) or when you have them crippled/slowed and popping the F2 abilities when their more concentrated on you and not on dodging your attacks or strafing you. Though I must admit the KD from the Canines is useful and the Wolfs FEAR F2 abilitie really helps out when your way outmaned or downed to save yourself from being finished off.
Well hope this helps, and it’s always nice to see more Rangers in WvW!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Gs actually works very well in all venues. try giving this a shot?
•Power is 2181 without Oil, 2388 with.
•Toughness equates to 42.14% damage mitigation.
•Max HP is 26,062 •You take 25% less damage w/ Barkskin when you have 6,515 hp or less.•+10% damage when endurance is full
•+5% greatsword damage
•+5% damage when you have a boon
•-65% condition duration on you thanks to runes and food
•-25% stun duration on you
Conditions are going to slide off you. You’re very tanky. You’re very mobile. And you hit reliably hard without depending on the RNG garbage that is crit chance. Couple this with the innate evasion the greatsword auto-attack chain has and you have one serious beast of a Ranger … and he has a pet.I ran this for awhile and had really great success, I used Gs and Sw/Dagger or Sw/wh
Could literally stand in necro wells, eat thief burst, parlay with trap rangers, and take 1v2’s and up to 3 no problem, you dont have much in the way of regen, you aren’t exactly bunker and you have next to no crit/crit damage but kitten you hit hard and you can take a serious beating.
I also put the 10 points in marksmanship and put it into BM
This looks good, I really like the survivability while having reliable damage.
I was wondering if Sentinel’s gear would work just as good, I would have slightly higher hp, less power, but with that 10 into BM that should make up for it, alright?
Thanks again!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Does this build still perform well in WvW scenerios?
I’m looking for a proper build so I can begin actively going to WvW.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I have looked over a few sites, watched videos on YouTube, and tried asking in-game for some advice, but it seems I am getting anywhere fast.
I love the combo, I have been rolling a 10/0/30/30/0 build for a few days since I hit level 80, and been using full Sentinel’s gear, including accessories.
Been playing around with pets but it seems that since I have no points in BM that I am pretty much stuck with using the tankier pets like the bears/drakes ect.
I really want to dive into WvW as well as be able to run in dungeons successfully but, with the limited money I have and research getting me no where, I’m becoming frustrated with it.
So please, if anyone has any useful advice/builds or videos I could watch of the build in action, that would be great, I plan to zerg it up in WvW or atleast run in smaller strike forces but, don’t want to relie on being in a group/zerg to get my badges.
Thanks for your time!

I have a level 65 GS/SB Ranger seems to be doing fairly well, but would appreciate some feedback on what are the most suggested/recommended builds for those of us using the above mentioned weapon combo?
Thanks, I have found several builds but they all conflict one another lol, would just like to know my options.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
The skill is called, “Search and Rescue.”
You can’t Rescue a DEAD corpse…
So the change to how to skill works, seems fitting.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Pretty good. To bad the build your using is getting the nerf bat.
If this is true… WHAT THE ACTUAL F@&K? Stop nerfing the weakest class for gods sake arena net..
The weakest class is the Ranger by far.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I am wondering from all you experienced/vet Rangers out there in Tyria, if you have found out once you get your Ranger to level 80 it was time well spent or you wish you would have just shot yourself in the foot before you even started, lol?
I so far am level 11 and am using GS/SB to level up and do content, working well, just wondering if there is a solid build/guild to follow and if any of the pets are of benefit to a Ranger using GS?
Thanks!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I was a fan of going with P/P and stacking up the Condi DMG, and the CC was nice. But I would say for leveling purposes the Rifle is your best bet, because of the Clean DMG it can do, and the abilities of the Rifle are great.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I have watched many videos and looked through several guides, and they all recommend either SB, S/WH or A/WH. I was wondering if there is an all-around welcomed secondary set with the GS, I am leaning towards the A/WH setup, for the Speed boost from the WH and having some sort of ranged option with the axes thrown abilities.
Thanks in advance to all those who post.
