When I used to use my Healing Warrior Banner Build in WvW it did really well with group/zerg play, I could keep regen/heals going, other buffs, ect. it was pretty fun too, so I would say Druid would be a welcomed part of a WvW group/zerg.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Incentives/Rewards are already in WvW.
Rank up Chests.
Perks to invest Rank Points into.
Experience/Gold/Karma for completing events such as Capturing a Point/Tower/Keep.
Loot Bags.
Beating someone in combat.
Coming in first at the end of the week.
Ect.
If you want Reward Tracks, stick to sPvP.

You know that this is just going to provide fuel for the fire, you’re providing ammo for the nerf stealth folks.
It’s not a stealth issue, it’s a applying conditions passively while being able to stay in stealth issue…
I play a thief myself, tried the build out and got so bored that I fell asleep at my keyboard.
Passive condition application, the ability to stay in stealth while conditioning someone to death is what most people are against, with the share amount of reveals and stealth traps people have,, your target being in stealth isn’t an issue…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I’m by no means experienced with the thief class, but I just want to express my opinion here.
I think thieves have gotten so used to running full glass, relying on nothing but stealth keep them alive, that now they can’t get a hold of anything new.
DD basically have the ability to chain evades all day long while still putting out good damage. Brazil even showed in his video once a 100% evade uptime on against a golem. I think you thieves just need to give this whole thing a shot, and start thinking about none stealth reliant builds
So what your saying is that we Thieves should just abandon any notion of using Stealth in our builds and be forced into using D/D or S/D and evade for days as our go to build?
Stealth has always played a large part in being a Thief, telling people to disregard a major mechanic to their class, is like telling the other classes not to use their major mechanics.
Stealth is a vital part of a Thiefs livelihood, and now with all these reveals and other classes being given what has been for the most part something mostly ours, it feels like ANet has just as it has in the past, caved to the complainers and the whiners who didn’t want to learn about how to counter-play a stealthed opponent.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
@All the people saying, “Use a Build, Pick a Class that doesn’t rely on Stealth”…
See that’s the Thiefs thing though, Stealth mechanics, used to grant us Boons, used to engage/disengage players/mobs ect., used to give us a powerful new Stealth-Only attack (Backstab, ect.) to Thiefs stealth is everything.
I get the feeling people think we should all play S/D Thiefs, why should we be pressured into one setup/build, when the use of Stealth opens up SO many more possibilities with a class that’s one of it’s biggest things is “Remaining unseen”…
Thiefs need an “Out of stealth/revealed” buff of sorts that allows them some sort of defense against what Stealth gives us (Regen/Condi removal, ect.)
And yeah, I know people will be like, “Learn to play noob, and dodge/evade stuff, just move….” then why play a Thief, a class that many Rogue-type players gravitated towards when they started playing GW2, maybe giving reveal to EVERYONE or giving stealth to EVERYONE isn’t the best idea.
I foresee the age of Warrior (Zerker) Ranger (Druid) and Ele being the new thing in HoT, in a game that said, “There will be NO Holy Trinity” it sure seems like that will be not be the case…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Conditions should either reveal or not tick at all while in stealth.
If that is the case I shouldn’t be able to be hit by anything when I’m in stealth including any form of cc or skills that channel and still hit me after I stealth..
Like Rapid Fire….
@Thread
If conditions and the way they are applied wasn’t SO strong, then the “Condi Meta” wouldn’t be a thing, anytime ANYTHING becomes strong and has a low skill ceiling everyone and their grandma plays it and uses it over anything else.
Players get used to using such a build, such as, Condi-PU Mesmer and will defend it forever saying people need to learn to play and know how to counter it, ect. They NEVER think anything is wrong with it, they just believe they are professionals and everyone else is whining because their “Bad”….
Conditions are VERY strong right now, conditions such as Burning, Torment, and Confusion are the top three, and sure you could build your character around reduced condi-durations and have cleanses up the ying-yang but, after cleansing them, your right back where you started because those same conditions are just reapplied soon after their cleansed, and if your a class/build with a lower health pool, your toast, unless you can kill someone before the conditions eat you alive, kill someone who’s all over the place, in and out of stealth, stacking conditions passively ect.
Power builds have been scaled down, people had a fit when certain classes where able to 1 hit them or bring them very low in 1 attack, perhaps it’s condi-builds that need to be scaled down now.
Conditions should assist in taking down your opponent through attrition, not, do everything for you while you dart around seeing your burns tick for 5k+…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I feel most Elite Specs are seen as being OP when compared to everything else, this could be the new “Norm/Meta” when HoT comes out, we’ll just have to see!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Why nerf a place that everyone can go and get mats, and gold, ect. It’s one of the most viable areas to make money in this game, without it, you would see a DRASTIC mark up in material costs screwing over people who are training up their professions, and those who depend on it to make the money for runes/sigils/armor/weapons ect…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
That Ele obviously is new, and doesn’t know how to play, Ele’s have quiet strong damage in sPvP…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
It’s for WvW Roaming and Small-Group stuffs.
I’m sure this is FAR from original, but I would like to get some honest feedback on it, and ways it might be improved, thanks!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Is the build I listed above, good for what I mentioned, or not?
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
With an insta-weapon swap you could start off with a Backstab into a Pistol whip, or any other two powerful attack combo, a full glass Thief could easily get 20k+ damage out of the a fore mentioned combo.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
After toying around a bit this is what I came up with, the gear will replaced with Ascended versions of themselves as I get the resources and gold to do so, what do you all think, this build is for WvW (Roaming/Small-Group play.) Thanks!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Hey all, looking for a “New to Thief Roaming” build that I could use, it’s been recommended to me that I use a D/P + SB Power Build, which is cool, and the combo of stacking Stealth is easy enough for me to do. But as there are MANY D/P Builds out there for the “Roaming Thief” I am stuck on how to appropriately build and gear myself up, so any help/guidance would be very most appreciated, thanks!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
The game isn’t even released yet, and still people will spread their doom and gloom about an elite spec that isn’t even fully fleshed out yet, and with most things “New” that GW Dev’s put out, there will be balance patches and updates to kind of tone things down.
Elite specs are one of the main selling points of the expansion, their (The Devs) are surely going to make these specs really look/feel/act ect. powerful and OP, to get more people interested in buying HoT, and I bet once initial sales are in, were all going to see these same specs getting toned down and modified to the point where they’re not anywhere near where they where before at launch.
We all must be patient, and observe as things come out, be mature.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Yeah this isn’t WoW where you stand still and your character magically dodges/blocks attacks, and having loads of skills on your bar(s) as you do in WoW doesn’t mean you actually use them all, having a bloated skill bar doesn’t make you any better of a player.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I personally would like them to get rid of Home Server BL’s, and just increase the size of EBG to hold more obstacles (Towers/Keeps/Sentries/Camps/Mercs) and cut the map three ways (Like it already is.)
The map would be large enough to encompass large scale zergs, and be open enough that people doing small group and roaming stuff would have fun as well.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I look forward to the Trinity returning, and true group dynamics being brought back, instead of this one sided, “GO ZERK OR GO HOME”, attitude that most groups nowadays have. I myself, will gladly watch bars, and heal and apply buffs/boons to my party.
With this, and new and returning group mechanics being put in, we all can finally feel useful, instead of who has the higher dps-peen…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I’ve had several, “Free Account” players join my Guild recently, even helped a few of them do map completion, I feel players weather they’ve been here from the start, or have just started are going to act/be however they want, you do get a few that trickle in that are abrasive, but, that’s what the block list is for.
And if you don’t like people swearing at you, feel free to turn on the profanity filter.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
This assessment that you need more stats for direct damage then condition builds do is false. I have plenty of builds that do as much damage in soldiers gear that most condition builds do in dire gear.
The problem is very specific trait combinations + specific weapons skills + specific utilities on specific professions. So let’s not degenerate the conversation to making blanket statements about damage types as a whole, with no actual mathematical truth to thier damage output.
And where is your “Mathematical Truth”?
You claim to have builds that “Do as much damage” in full Soldiers, than most Dire gear builds do, these “I” statements are just as “Blankety” as the others found in this thread.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
If there wasn’t a problem with PU Mesmers, being imbalanced, you wouldn’t see SO many of them in WvW.
One of the things that I enjoy most out of play Guild Wars 2, is taking part in WvW activities, such as roaming or small group play. But as of late, it’s gotten more tiresome and boring than enjoyable, and refuse to join in on the zerg, and spam my 1 key…
I just wish that the Developers would look at these Condi-spam Stealth/Invis Bots and see that they need to be toned down so that other builds have a chance to go toe to toe with them, as it is now, it’s either join em and make a PU mesmer, ect. or run, and I know the 1%‘ers will come in and say, " I’m able to win just fine…" or the delusional “Pro” Mesmer who believes the class is, “Perfectly balanced” and “Fine as is”. Will come in gloating about their superior skill, and tell us all to L2P….
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
People seem to think that all people need to do is build their toons, and gear their toons for anti-conditions and it will all ok, I ask, if someone just pumps up their vitality, uses runes and sigils for condition duration decrease and transfer, and fills their bar with condition removal skills/spells, how are they then going to kill the other persons toon? I’ve built these “Tanky” “Anti-Condi” toons before, and I was able to do squat vs. people, I could heal/regen most of their damage, but I’de hit like a feather and would have to rely on others to come by and kill people for me.
Look Mesmers, we get it, you have your favorite class, and whenever someone brings up anything against you lose your mind, and defend the crap out of it, not seeing anything wrong with it, I’de be the same way if someone attacked my class, but I play them all, so, it doesn’t much matter.
People playing mesmers needs to move past the, “Ohh noez, don’t say my class/build is unbalanced and needs nerfs/fixes”. and see that the way things are going, are making things not enjoyable for those who also want to roam, and have a fun time doing so.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Well, bring some CONDITION CLEANSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What if I told you that most condi-cleanses are on a 15+sec cooldown, while burning is easily reapplied by tons of aoe-fields and passive procs.
And what if I also told you that most condi-cleanses only clean one or two conditions, while burning is easily covered up by longlasting cripples, bleeds, poisons and vulnerabilities, which are widely accessible on most classes.
Burning is ridiculous to the point that 4/5 death breakdowns have burning at the top with anything between 40-60k damage, followed by something else with 5k.
OMG this, over 9000+ times this!
So many people are like, “Bring Condition Cleanses”, those skills/traits don’t help much past clearing the initial wave of conditions, and most of the time only clear a few of the low key ones, leaving the stronger ones like burning still on…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I’m just curious to those people who consider, HoT, P2W, have none of you ever bought an expansion before? Like, I’ve read a lot of mind-numbing threads in forums for a lot of games in my life, but complaining about an expansion and labeling it, “P2W”, takes the cake…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I’d like these “experts”, who “picked up Mesmer just to see how easy it is” and “face rolled” everything, I’d like to see them record themselves fighting warriors, necros, d/d celes etc without using stealth. If you really think it’s an unnecessary mechanic, then go ahead and play Mesmer without one. See how far you get.
See it’s not only the duration they can be in stealth, but what they can do upon entering/leaving it, and while still in it. The rate/speed of which they can apply and re-apply conditions to their target(s) and how many stacks of those conditions they can apply almost effortlessly is what needs to be addressed, not only on mesmers but on any Condi build, no build for that matter should have overwhelming Condition dmg, survivability, mobility, get out of jail free cards, ect. without having to sacrifice something.
As for video(s) go on YouTube and search for, “Condi PU Mesmer Outnumbered” and sort by date, there are several videos show casing a PU Mesmer being able to take on groups of people, and come out on top.

Confusion/Torment/Burning are the BIG Three right now with Condition Builds, and you know when something becomes uber-strong when the vast majority of people in WvW use it while roaming or in a group.
I get this feeling that the people defending Condi-Builds are under the impression that people can just trait and load up their utility skills for Condi cleanses, and move/dodge/evade Condi-Attacks. Which sure, you can move out of a Condi, or evade it, but then your stamina is gone, and you can’t dodge, and since your in combat, your slowed down, and while your skills/traits that have Condi-Cleanses on them are on their CD/ICD the player with the Condi-Build is just stacking those same Conditions right back on you.
Fighting against Power/Crit Builds was a lot more fun, because a lot of your weapons skills, had the ability to block/daze/stun/interrupt, and you could make good use of your dodges, and if you took a hit, things like your toughness would help, and yeah, conditions work off of a players vitality, but with 5-6k Burns, 12k Torments, and Confusion stacks, you have to do SO much more fighting them, than you do with Power/Crit builds…
Now if I see a Mesmer, I just run, I turn around, and run… Because 9/10 times it’s a Condi-PU Mesmer that’s going to rip me apart with their Condi DMG, all the while being invis…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
You know that scepter #2 is on a 6 second cooldown right?
12k torment damage on a 6 second cooldown? You really think that’s balanced? (and it actually goes up to 15k if you factor in weapon and guard stacks).
4 things:
- To have 6s of CD you need to take the scepter trait, which is inferior to Ineptitude.
- It’s a reactive skill, so to activate it needs participation of the enemy to activate it.
- Torment damage can be reduced to half if the enemy is not moving.
- You negate the damage by cleansing it.So in the end, the skill damage is proportional to the enemy’s lack of awareness and lack of control of the fight.
So, if someone is receiving the 12k of damage it’s because he deserves it.
4 Things on Your 4 Things:
- Even though one Trait is considered “Better” doesn’t mean people won’t use it, and in a place like WvW where a lot of things can be blocked, who wouldn’t take a skill that has a 6s CD and inflicts 12k to 15k DMG.
- The skill’s animation is pretty instant, so good luck seeing it before your skill/attack gets blocked, and a 6s window with everything else going on in the fight, isn’t big enough for someone cleave through 25k HP, while cleansing, while dodging/evading, while moving out of Condi-pits, while trying to find the real, nearly perma-invis Mesmer who can slap you with a few conditions and stay in Stealth while you bust your CD’s in the hopes of living against 12k Torments, and 5-6k Burns, ect.
- Yeah, “Not moving”, doesn’t work so well in WvW, don’t know if you where serious about this one or not.
- How many cleanses do you think people have? Even choosing traits that reduce skills that strip conditions, the rate at which those same conditions can be re-applied, is frustrating as heck.
I remember when Condition builds was all about beating someone through attrition, having to have not only solid Condi-dmg, but the ability to stick in the fight, and have the survivability to do so. Now it’s just so hands off, that once you apply conditions you can sit back and just worry about moving around and dodging something, and re-apply those conditions directly after they are cleansed.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Silverwaste was supposed to be a map to do the events and fight multiple bosses, NOT a chest farming map. If GW2 wants to keep chest farming in, make it for a limited time, so that those of us that like doing the events can. It is unfair that those of us who like doing the events have to wait until the chest farming group deems it the right time to do so. I also refuse to jump from map to map to map just to find some people to do events with. Keep the chest farming in, just limit it.
I use the LFG tool to find Chest Train maps, I advise that you get off your high horse and find Event Maps. No offense but being lazy is no excuse to have something else that people enjoy doing, nerfed, because you refuse to use the tools given.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
You mean I no long have to worry about some AC hitting me from a spot that shouldn’t be possible, thank god…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
How did I know this thread was going to be created, ANet never intended for people to get keys so easily, maybe instead of boosting a toon to 10 and getting a key, you all can now start playing the game and perhaps one will drop?
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Most are Locked or near to it, just need to be lucky I guess.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
IF Condi-builds weren’t an issue and weren’t a power-house build, they wouldn’t be the meta for things like sPvP and WvW Roaming/Havoc. Anytime, and I mean ANYtime something becomes “Strong” everyone plays it…
Step into sPvP or WvW and find me a Thief who isn’t using a Condi-trap build, or a Condi-PU Mesmer or a Burn-Guard, or any Condi-centric Build while roaming/havocing… It’s very very rare to see.
Even DnT a very well known Dungeon/Fractals guild that has many successful builds for those game types, has a Condi-Engi build that in fights lasting around 14 seconds, can out perform Any/Most Power builds, and if it couldn’t DnT wouldn’t use it, because DnT focuses purely on “The Best” builds and nothing more.
When SO many players are using a Condi-centric build, over anything else, it stops being a thing of personal taste and a case of “This is what is MOST powerful at this given time, so I am going to use it”.
ANet should have made them (Conditions.) a strong alternative to power builds, not stronger than.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Any class that doesn’t do “It” the “Best” fall out of “Fashion”. As such, you’ll only see most Streamers streaming what is wildly considered the “It” class/spec to appease their viewers and get more followers and subs/donators. If you want to watch someone who streams as a Guardian watch http://www.twitch.tv/izodini He runs a Medi Guard and is usually roaming in WvW and sometimes will do Zerging/sPvP. He does very well, and I use his build, and I do fine.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
As I see these threads appearing it just makes me wonder, “Have these people NEVER bought expansions before?” Like, it doesn’t make sense to me that people say it’s Pay2Win, when it’s a bloody expansion… Pay2Win would be if the Gem Store offered up some OP boosts to your character that gave you a distinct advantage over those who didn’t buy it. Like, it’s an expansion, of coarse it’s going to have MORE added to it, a new class, new gear, new zones, and a whole heck of a lot more, you all have close to two months before it’s out, don’t spend money on things like junk food, soda, beer, pizza whatever if you low on funds, if you REALLY want HoT, you’ll cut out things you DON"T NEED in order to afford it…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I guess the best way to approach this is when new players join via the LFG is to educate them and teach them things about the game and how tools like LFG works, and hopefully in time your words reach other new players and the amount of people who don’t understand will go down, with the help you offered the first one.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I am wondering in terms of “Trolling” your opponent(s) in Small Group/Roaming in WvW, which build allows me to be the most Trolly/Annoying Thief there is to deal with? I don’t care too much about “Killing Speed” just the ability to ware them down to the point where dying would save their sanity, lol…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Dungeon rewards have been nerfed and/or revamped over 6 times since launch…
I was talking about the final reward which was never changed.
As for the other dungeon rewards, that still doesn’t mean their risk vs reward is good. A dungeon that takes 8 minutes rewards 1g and a dungeon that takes 30 min rewards 1.5g
So much for risk vs reward
The end rewards where changed, see before you where able to run X Dungeon and at the end you where guaranteed a set amount of that Dungeons “Currency” AKA Tokens… and the Gold ect. you got was the same, even if you farmed say CoF P1 OVER and OVER, the rewards at the end for completion where the SAME. Now, once you’ve done a path once, your end rewards will be less and less as you do them, heck you can only open the Chests on the first time through…
Now to make money people play the market, and flood it with mats and such they get from SW, but soon ANet will nerf SW, like they did all other farmable spots, such as Pent/Shelt, and the Champ Trains.
They need to make doing things in this game rewarding again, people used to love to flood the dungeons and fractals, there was ALWAYS lots of people by the dungeons and fractal entry, now very few. Boss Events used to command the entire maps max player, and now you’ll have 1/3 of what was there before.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Ok so what you are saying and sorry im going to be blunt is that you just came back and want to be on the same level as people that have spent months and a lot of gold to get their gear? I am going to say for 1 stop being selfish. It is no ones fault you took time off to deal with Real Life or play other games. We all do that but for the people that has worked/farmed their butts off to get what they want and for you to say hey I want it now! That im sorry isn’t fair. This game already catters (imo) to casuals way to much. But yea there are ways to get your ascended gear now. Just spend the gold…..
Never said I DIDN’T want to work for it, just didn’t want to put up with it being a Time-gated thing, but now that I know that I can get it through drops and buying the mats off the TP, I can do it, and put in the work/effort associated with it.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
@NyhilistTheBoring.
My “Real” problem(s) are that I do not like the feeling of being put between a Rock and a Hardplace, and that situation is, being relevant in terms of Armor/Weapon/Trinkets ect. and Total Stats gain from gear, and catching up to my friends who I enjoy being with and playing the game along side of, these friends having already amassed 6+ sets…
@Everyone else.
After reading your responses, and as I said, I’ve been gone from the game for several months if not longer (Left when they first introduced Ascended crafting.) I did not know of ways outside of making it myself, where possible! If I knew that I could just buy the parts, and remove the 25+ days of making them myself, I would have! Now, that I know that I can buy the Timegated mats off the TP, or have a chance of getting them from Drops, it has taken a load off my shoulders in my attemp to catch up to my friends and guildies.
So I am guessing my best bet is to join in on the Silverwastes train (Events/Chests) in the hopes of getting them from drops/chests, or getting the gold to buy the Timegated stuff from the TP, am I right? Are there any other ways to obtain Ascended gear that removes me from being stuck behind the Timegate wall, or is what I already listed pretty much it?
Thank you all for being tolerant of my RANT and thanks for the replies!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
I have no problem with it being “Hard to get” I do have a problem with the gear crafting process being Time-gated though, I recently came back to playing Guild Wars 2 to get ready for the expansion, and none of my characters have Ascended gear, and it taking around a month to craft the gear, is ludicrous, I don’t want to wait a month to do high-level fractals, ect. with my friends, and guildmates. I believe they should remove the Time-gated nature of the gear, and instead, make it slightly more costly to make, if the Dev’s are worried about everyone getting the best gear in the game too easy, just up the cost, and increase the amount of materials required, that will slow down most people, because gathering materials and the gold/karma/laurels to get it, will be enough of a barrier for people to overcome, I myself am not going to even try to agonize over spending a month for a single set…
Not to mention the people who have lives outside of gaming, people who only play for a few hours or a few days a week, aren’t going to be able to, or wanting to, spend most of their time behind a crafting station, or feeling pressured to get on daily to craft the once a day materials… For someone who plays everyday it would takes 25 to 27 days to craft a single set of gear, and say people who have one of each class, or different builds, it would take around a year to craft it all…
You can make Legendary weapons in less time, and for gear that is slightly better than Exotics and offers slots for agony resist, I don’t feel it’s worth making it take so long to make, but it’s necessary if you don’t want to be gated off of a part of the game, and heaven forbid they introduce Agony outside of fractals, they will force people to craft it.
SORRY FOR THE RANT…
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Hey all, it’s me again…
Recently I have returned to Guild Wars 2 to get re-accustomed to the game, in preparation for the new Expansion coming out! I come to the forums today to seek some advice and get recommendations for a class that I’m not quiet sure I can narrow down myself, so I’m going to list off some things I feel I personally need the class to be able to perform well at, which may not all be possible, but I’m going to try anyways.
1. So first and foremost, the class can’t be overly complicated when it comes to rotation/skill use during fights, I like to concentrate on the fight/battle more than making sure I’ve switched between multiple kits/attunements and whatever else to get the absolute most out of my toons potential, so being effective while maintaining a simple flow, is key.
2. I enjoy all of Guild Wars 2’s content, Dungeons/Fractals/WvW/sPvP ect. I also like being one of those sought after classes for those types of things, and knowing that the “Holy trinity” isn’t really a thing now, I do know that certain classes are seen as “Prime” choices for group composition, and in terms of WvW/sPvP are some of the most “Competitive” or “Feared” classes to go up against.
3. “Style” Now I know “Beuty is in the eye of the beholder” but I do like looking good, making good use of Dyes, and other cosmetics to give those people around me a sense of “Wow, his character looks amazing!” ect. ect. in most cases this limits it down to Heavy Armor classes like the Guardian/Warrior since most of their gear looks fearsome or awe inspiring…
4. Besides the content listed above, I like to be able to Farm areas or mobs/champs for loots, with Silverwastes farming being a thing, and there are others I am sure of it, I want to be able to make sure my class is good at it.
5. As much as I like playing with my friends/guildmates, I want to have the feeling that I am able to hold my own in a battle, and not rely on my group to carry me through, I’ve never been a person who, when playing games, likes to feel like, “I must be supported, or I must be with a group to do well”. Now I know some things are group dependant, thinking I can solo everything in this game would be a foolish notion, but still, I want to feel like I am succeeding at something, without feeling like it was because of “X” person/class being there…
Now, this was a very long read, and I appreciate the time everyone puts into reading it through, and replying, thanks!
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Last time I played I used Traited elixers to remove conditions from myself either in Dungeons/Fractals or sPvP/WvW, I see loads of builds with seemingly NO sort of real condi removal, anyone have any advice as how to remove conditions.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Welcome to Guild Wars 2, best of luck in your travels, really is a awesome game to get into.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
In my experience Solo-Roaming/Small Group or sPvP, stacking up on Condi DMG vs. Condi Duration is best, just for the reason that, no matter if you have 100% Condi Duration Bonus, they can just Clense/Remove it. So hitting them with as much Condi DMG upfront in my experience is best, and makes a lot of people freak out when Condi’s is hitting like a truck.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Life saver as always, Sly.
https://www.twitch.tv/amazinphelix
Recently came back to the game, and in an attempt to reamers myself into the game, I am going to level up a new toon, choosing the roll a Engi, I would like to go as a Condi Engi. Not sure if there is a recommended way to go about choosing traits/skills as I level up or not.
Thanks to everyone kittenponds.

So Spirit Shards is more or less important for all things Mystic Forge related, like Legendary Weapon crafting, ect.?

And I am guessing that Skill Points are roughly the same, as I learn the skills by purchasing them with the points I have as I level?

So I’m coming back from not playing GW2 for several months+ I recently came to terms with acknowledging that intense, rage inducing games like DayZ aren’t healthy for a guy who has heart problems and is already stressed out as is. So I’ve returned to a game that made me feel at ease, and peaceful with it all.
Thank you GW2 Developers for creating a game that I can enjoy, without the heart palpitations and wanting to throw my PC out my window…
But onto what I need help with, I need help with understanding the changes to skill builds, because when I last played, you had a max number of points to allocate into your traits if you wanted to call them that, and that was your build, this new way of building your character is slightly confusing, and the hero points are also kind of confusing as well, but I may be overthinking things as I usually do.
Are there any helpful catch up guides or can anyone simplify the changes to characters for me, thanks!
