Currently the Hero Challenge Icon is Green, when you complete it, it inverts itself, but is still green, today I seen several people complaining about this, this would be a Quality of Life update, you should make the unattained ones Red( or a bright colour ), and make them turn Green once you complete them.

Someone please tell me this is bugged and bugged hard, this enemy has beyond insane health regen, there was 4 of us hammering it down, and its just like it has instant reset point, as soon as you get it to around 80% health it breaks aggro and instantly resets to 100% health,

Either we are all doing something wrong or missing something major, has anyone beat this, or are we wasting our times with this one.

Changes to Liquid World Experience

Are they trying to just kill off WvW completely, why are you making changes to a game format to try and appease a bunch of players who never play the format, that makes NO SENSE at all, allow those who play your game format to reap the rewards of it, not get punished because of people who don’t,

I bet they aren’t changing the CHAMP bags from SW’s on the PvE players who have several thousand saved up for when HoT launches, I swear sometimes I wonder does Anet have a clue about there own game.

WvW is now officially just another PvE map for PvE players.

Luck Sink past 300%

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ok I Did It.2854

Ok I Did It.2854

It just needs to be raised to 500%. With exponential increases in the amount of luck required it would end up taking a very long time to reach it.

I said this along time ago, and it was shot down by the casuals who only play a few hours a week complaining how some people would just beable to cap it out again at the new level, and give them an unfair advantage, sadly until Anet pull away from the CASUAL player and realize there are more dedicated players do not expect a change,

Also, I don’t know how Anet is planning on rewards going forward, it looks like more and more loot will come from chests in which case MF is a dead stat, and will probably be removed in the long run, Anet is very very hush when it comes to communication around MF.

Lastly, it should never have been capped, just increased, keep it how it is until 300% then

300-399 – 60k per 1%
400-499 – 90k per 1%
500-599 – 120k per 1%

It makes it a massive time sink, and would take along time to hit, YES there would be a few who would reach it fast as they are either rich ingame, or playing the TP, but you will always have them people, if it wasn’t for them people you wouldn’t get half your research into drop rates that you desire.

Running without an elite?

Ok I Did It.2854

If any of you plan on doing a raid, you can bet you WILL be running the Elite, there is no way Anet is going to spend all this time promoting these new Elite Specs for them to sit idle and unused, they will make content that forces you to use the Elite or you wont get past it,

It may not be in the first few raids, but by this time next year it will be near mandatory to run the Elite.

The only one that I will even look at will be the Mesmer, and that’s only for sPvP, everything else just looks boring to me, I Main was a necro and the Elite spec was horrible I hated it.

What im curious about is, if you have all the gifts for a legendary but don’t have the pre, can you use the new system to get the pre for an old weapon and then make it, or does the old pre’s linked to the new crafting system.

New legendary weapons look underwhelming.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Ok I Did It.2854

Ok I Did It.2854

I would have to see how they look ingame, from the images though, they don’t make me want to work towards them, I would love a Legendary staff but I play necro and that shiny rainbow disaster just doesn’t do it for me, and the new staff I feel has been made nearly exclusive for the new Ranger Elite Spec, which is a shame,

Maybe we will eventually see new Legendary’s being added that will give us all the type of weapons we like, for now though pre cursor crafting is a miss for me.

Ok I Did It.2854

I am in WvW a lot, and I feel like I get plenty of “Rewards” for what I do there.

You get EXP/WvWEXP/Money/Karma/Champ Loot Bags/Loot Bags ect.

The reason why sPvP seems more “Rewarding” is that you get those “Rewards” in quick succession via the “Reward Tracks”. (Which don’t give all that good of stuff…)

You must seriously be playing a different version of WvW from me, or you are on a K-Train map everytime you play, its been well documented that rewards for WvW are far far far below par with nearly every other aspect of the game.

They wont be worth doing, you have to read between the lines, when Anet says they are going to restructure and move some of the dungeon rewards out of dungeons, what they mean it, they are stripping dungeons of all loot and rewards so that no one will do them, so the next board meeting they have they can say, see dungeons are not what the players want, no one does them.

This is nothing new though, with the BLC you are paying a high high price at the chance of something ultra rare/expensive, the reason why these items are worth so much gold is because they are so rare,

If you truly want a skin from a BLC you are best to buy it directly from the TP you will save a lot of gold in the long run, and will most likely not be so disappointed.

I stopped playing the RnG Chest game about 3 weeks after launch, if the Keys where say 20gems each they may see a lot more people buying them.

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Ok I Did It.2854

Ok I Did It.2854

Ive seen more and more of that in LFG, the don’t buy from xx player they are scammers, Anet will never beable to get on top of this, if I an running with a PUG group I tend to avoid guild only groups, if its high end fractals and I see 3 ppl from same guild I tend to leave, there is so much of this going on now in game that it really does make you distrust pug groups, and guild groups for the most part.

In saying that, with the change coming to Fractals, we may see a massive drop in kicking, as its only 1 fractal instead of 4, so it should be faster, and as Anet has all but said they are done with Dungeons it may not be an issue,

Kicking from Raids is bound to be the next big issue.

Are fractals worth it?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ok I Did It.2854

Ok I Did It.2854

In there current state no they are not worth it, its just a time sink for nothing, its been well documented that the rewards for fractals have been bad for a long time, it even took a team of people to document just how broken it was before Anet would “look into it” and even since then its still bad,

However as Anet have decided that raids and fractals are where they want to go, and they are abandoning dungeons, they may have actually looked at, and fixed the loot tables for Fractals, so I would say keep an eye on the Fractals sub section on the forums after next weeks expansion release and see if they are worth it.

Daily AP Limit

Ok I Did It.2854

This was brought up when Anet introduced this hard cap, it never should have a CAP full stop, it was put in because to many casuals complained that they couldn’t catch up, or that it would be unfair to new players, so Anet decided to lock down older accounts,

Which, if this is the case, is wrong since those who did not complete all of the the Living Story Season 1, WvW Tournament, and holiday achievements since launch are never going to catch up. All the cap really does is prevent the gap from increasing further but fails to address the issue itself.

But why should new players catch up, if I start playing a game 3 years after someone else, why should I beable to do in months what took them years to do, its part in parcel with gaming, those who have been playing a certain game longer are naturally further ahead, AP’s do not give you an advantage over anyone else.

IF anet do not remove the block/cap on AP’s then what will happen is, after all the new content is eaten up, ( we shall say 6 months ) those who cannot gain more AP’s etc will just log off and only log on when a new update is pushed and they can obtain more AP’s

The AP system is maybe something that got away from Anet to fast, and they threw a CAP in there to slow it down, now its causing an issue, and needs to be removed completely, they can hold the 10AP’s per day from dailies but don’t restrict it.

So, out of curiosity. How do you feel about this? Happy? Do you feel liberated from doing dailies or is this an annoyance because it’s harder to work your way towards the next chest anymore until more AP comes out?

I also hit the cap a while ago. I definitely do not feel liberated. I don’t really like the cap as I feel that AP are so scarce that there’s little reason to play my main account unless new content is released. I’ve been playing an alt account in the meantime.

That’s kind of what I figured. I’m still a fair distance away but when I hit the cap I’m not going to be a happy player. I really don’t see the point of the cap at all and I hope they reconsider this “feature”.

This cap needs removed full stop, why punish the players who play and support your game, because someone who plays 2 hours a week cannot catch up,

Me personally when I hit the cap, I will stop playing, I don’t see why I should be punished because I play the game, ( I also understand some people don’t play for AP’s but me and some of my friends use them to challenge each other )

I would love to see an Anet Dev reply to this topic in regards the future or AP’s and the removal of caps.

I play 8 hours a day almost and still can’t catch up.

This will depend on when you started playing, dailies used to be worth 5AP’s for each one you did, so anyone who started back 3 years ago had an advantage, they where then changed to 1AP for each one, then later changed to 10 AP’s for 3, also monthlies gave 80APs also, (until they where removed)

Also living story season 1 had a lot of points, also seasonal events before some people started,

So yes for some people playing now, they wont catch up for a long time, but as long as that cap is in place they will slowly catch up.

Given the rewards from AP’s are personal to the player and don’t offer advantage I fail to see why the AP Cap was put in place.

Unless Anet make massive changes to the loot drops in the game, the current zones such as CS, FGS, SW, etc which are highly farmed, will continue to me highly farmed for loot, im not overly optimistic that Anet will make rewards better for zones/events, they have consistently failed in this department for years now, so I don’t really think we have to much to worry about when it comes to older zones.

Another thing I would like to see removed/fixed is when mobs spawn and have Invulnerability, yet you see them dying, then they die but the entire time you attack them it said they where Invulnerable….how can they be Invulnerable yet be dying???

Progress will be handled my masteries when the expansion drops. Guild Wars 1 suffered from the same problem, except some of us considered it a selling point.

Its funny how some people look at that, I personally found GW1 very rewarding, yet I find GW2 very unrewarding, I guess it depends on what way you look at it,

Also telling people the game isn’t for them, its a bad way to progress, if everyone who was told that left the game, sooner or later there friends would follow, and then there friend would follow, they would tell others not to play the game, or even pick it up because its unrewarding,

This is why I will give Anet the benefit of the doubt, and they HAVE to fix this rewards system in HoT, not 3 years after HoT but be on the button as soon as it hits the ground.

Easy enough to test though.

Agreed, I used to farm it a lot, way more than 3 times per day, so unless this is an undocumented change its just not true,

Also could you imagine what that would do to the map in general, by lunchtime no one would be on the map as they would be getting even less rewards, not going to happen.

Lazy != Casual Player

I think you will find Anet disagreeing here, given that there entire game and nearly every update has been pushed towards the Casual Player,

Dungeon changes
Fractal changes
Raids
Daily’s nerfed

Anet do not want you playing this game longer than an hour at a time, because those that do, start to see that they do not get rewarded for your time, so if you can login do daily, and a quick fractal and log out you will feel rewarded for your time.

Anyone who thinks this game is for anyone other than the causal gamer is joking themselves,

Ill go as far to say, that after HoT is released you will see more and more stuff being changed to allow the 1 hour players taking advantage, anyone else to bad.

There are more and more people getting these kind of results, wonder did Anet change the % chance to soak up some more of them ecto from the market.

How did I know this thread was going to be created, ANet never intended for people to get keys so easily, maybe instead of boosting a toon to 10 and getting a key, you all can now start playing the game and perhaps one will drop?

This statement may hold weight, if they had removed the keys when key farming became mainstream, fact is its been in game well over a year, and now it gets nerfed, seems kind of strange, was there really that many key farmers upsetting the balance….doubtful, its pretty clear its a use gems to get keys, like its been stated before they should have made the keys cheap, maybe 25gems each, and they would have seen the sales come in, but 125 gems for a key that gives crap from a chest, come on.

Does GW2 feel unrewarding for anyone else?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ok I Did It.2854

Ok I Did It.2854

Most of us have felt or still feel this way. In the parlance of the forum’s white knights, it’s ‘working as intended’. The game is designed to induce us to spend real money, on gem store content or for conversion into gold.

Personally, I feel a little bad for people who value Legendary weapons. They’re hideously gaudy, imo. You can get loads of far better looking BL skins for the same amount of gold.

Yes and no.

I fully disagree that the reward system in GW2 is bad. I’m glad that seems to be somewhat changing in HoT (precursor collection mastery and armor precursors earned through raiding) however I don’t think the game is build to encourage gems-to-gold conversions. I mean seriously, who wants to spend $10,- on give or take 150g if you’re lucky? Which such conversion rates it would cost you $200,- if you wanted to use real money on crafting a legendary. That’s TWO-HUNDRED DOLLARS. For a digital item!

If Anet wanted us to spend real money on gems to convert to gold, then they’d make the gems-to-gold conversion a bit more lucrative. They’d set it to a default good conversion rate instead of linking it to the gold-to-gems conversion rate.

Who want to spend $10 for 150g? Cash shop based games are usually built around people who are willing spend obscene amounts for their pixels. There are also plenty of people who are willing to exchange real money for virtual currency based on the fact that gold sellers can remain in business.

Yeah but illegal gold sellers usually give you somewhere between 500 and 1000 gold for 10 bucks. That’s a way more acceptable rate than 150g (at most) for 10 bucks.

If Anet would offer 1000g for 10 bucks, then I probably would have been tempted to buy gold with real money. But as it is now (150g at most for 10 bucks) it’s just a waste of money. I really can’t justify spending 10 bucks on 150g.

Edit: Nevermind, I just checked some sites, the best bang for your buck these days is 300g for 12,50 bucks. It’s still better than 150g for 10 bucks, but still not worth it.

Thing is there, that if Anet changed it to say $10/1000g then all the items on the TP would just go up in price to match, T6 mats would be 3 or 4 gold each, skins would be x5 more expensive,

They just need to reward more ingame, some people believe that will come with HoT others do not and have quit already, the game has never really been that rewarding, there was an update a couple of years ago that made Heavy Moldy Bags drop more in Cursed Shore, so people went there to farm, this was frowned upon and so a lot of the events where nerfed to drop no loot, sadly that has been echo’d across the game, instead of fixing a problem, they remove the drops, and thus we have topics like this,

After HoT comes out I will personally give it 3 months to see if loot improves if it does not, my 10/11 year relationship with Anet is done, and I know several other people whom will abandon the game.

As for the OP, there are several people in this game that get the best rewards, from pre’s to really expensive skins etc, its just the way the game is made, some believe that your account is tagged on creation to either get said loot, or not, Magic Find no matter how high you push it, does not seem to change this ( even though it should ) you will never get a reply from Anet or a Dev on this topic, as its working as intended as far as they are concerned, even though RNG has caused so many hate filled topics.

ACs useless for defense now?

in WvW

Posted by: Ok I Did It.2854

Ok I Did It.2854

The problem here is balance, and its something that Anet cannot get right,

You have 2 problems with AC’s if you are 1 or 2 people trying to defend against a blob who can PvD the gate down, then the 1 or 2 AC’s might slow them down until help can arrive, so this update hurts the defenders, so map zergs will be all the more now,

On the other hand, you also have the AC campers, where a zerg will run inside a tower/keep and build 15 AC’s all firing safely on a door to destroy an enemy who cannot target them.

So how does anet get the balance right, who it be better for them to set say 2 fixed special AC’s on a keep that have a different LoS to normal AC’s to help defenders.

This update may actually encourage more open field battles, which I know some servers will HATE that as they love the siege humping easy kills.

Increased drop rates, I would love to know what the new drop it is, in 3years/ 4k hours ive had 3 drop in game, even if they doubled it, It would not make any impact at all, instead of nerfing this and basically forcing people to buy them from the gem store and that stupid 125gems per key price, they should have massively lowered the cost of the keys, this may actually encourage people to buy them, rather than waste hours farming for a few of them.

People who farmed them will not buy them, so they will either spend less time in game, or be forced to join the boring champ bag farm in SW.

Will keep it in mind, I bought Guild Wars 1 just for the skins you get from HoM tbh – farmed up to 10 points to get the Fiery Dragon Sword as a RT/R.

Had some enjoyful moments, extremely boring doing it entierly solo though.

Stopped continuing since i got rekked in the underworld(?) on my hunt for the blackwidow, and since i had to farm out rep for the factions or something to get some elite skills, which would take me weeks of farming alone since i find no players >.<

But will keep it in mind if i decide to go for more points, i’m full greenie in GW1 with a total of 91 hours played.

To get the spider ( depending on which 1 you want ) is not that difficult, you actually only have to do like 3 quests in there, it can be easily achieved with just 2 real players, and heros,

You probably could do it with 1 player and 7 heros but it would require some pretty clever flagging of heros and understanding of how spawns work,

If anyone is truly going for GWAMM and needs help feel free to ask, I offered help to someone about a month ago but they ended up not getting the game, I played GW from the start and still do on times, so about 10 years in total, I took 3 characters to GWAMM ( do not get Gwamm confused with the HoM )

When the game was released yes the EU accounts I think where auto assigned to the EU servers, and the NA accounts to the NA servers, but you had the option to move data centers,

I think there is confusion here, what it means is if you select an EU server you play on the EU servers, and vice versa, but you are free to use Gems to move between EU and NA.

I would say the website selling the game is confused, I cannot see Anet restricting an account to a region, this would be completely debilitating for say Military personal whom move country.

And I would guess if your base account you add the eu hot key on is na hot will be na no reason for anet to give free server transfers to people

Yes the game will not transfer your account for free, the HoT key is just that, its just a key to update your account to HoT version, the only reason the prices are different in EU/NA is because of taxes, basically NA players get a great deal usually and EU players don’t.

Is this how events will go after HoT is released, as we seem to be seeing more and more events where no loot drops, no xp is given, and no karma is awarded during or after an event

unless you mean special events and not the regular DE’s in the new maps, no this isn’t how it will be in HoT, which we know from the beta weekends, where after completing an event you get xp/karma/gold and there is plenty of loot dropped. Together with a map specific reward (ex. verdant brink gets airship parts) to exchange to vendors.

As much as this event seems terribly unrewarding (no loot drops, no rewards whatsoever from the events themselves, etc) we already know from the last two beta weekends that the same cannot be said about the events in there. Ofcourse i’m assuming the other maps frollow the same reward structure.

I was in Verdant Brink and yes loot did drop, but its not hard for them to make loot drop so that you tell your friends whom haven’t bought HoT yet that T6 mats etc drop, then after HoT is released WHAM the loot disappears, lets face it, the only thing that has been consistent in the game is the way event rewards get nerfed and loot gets removed,

So I would love an open and honest answer from Anet about how events in the future will go, as of right now, I know of 5 people who are gearing up to ask for a refund on HoT due to this, as they do not want to continue playing a game with no rewards,

This is a major sticking point for players, and yet its continually ignored by Anet devs, if they come here and tell me honestly that events will not drop loot, ( or they will be like SW rewards ) I will happily ask for a refund and move to a new game, then the devs can be happy that someone who wasn’t happy with there game is gone and they can keep the players who are happy to receive nothing for the time played.

IS that how you promote the game to new players, go do this event for 30 mins, it will tell you that you failed in the end, oh and we don’t award any loot during events,

I have already pre-purchased HoT but can we please have an honest answer about events and rewards, as if that is how its going to continue, I will just ask for a refund now.

I cannot seriously tell any of my friends who don’t play this game to even try it with the current reward system, we keep hearing changes are coming, yet all we get are events that give no loot.

Why bother maxing MF when nothing drops anymore.

((( AND yes im aware there is a bug in the end reward, but the fact remains no loot drops from enemies during, and if that’s how it is going forward, id rather invest my time and money into another game )))

Anyone NOT planning on using the new specs??

I will not be using the Necro spec, I truly cannot see where it has any place, the GS attack is to slow, you will be burst down before you can hit anyone, my current necro build does a lot of damage and sustain, ill stick to my current build.

If you cannot see the purpose of the reaper than I will have to question your knowledge of the class. DH and Tempest sucks for sure. Reaper significantly adds a lot to the necromancer and improves in in cleave damage in PvE.

In PvP there are multiple builds.

It adds cleave to PvE, the attack speed is to slow for cleave, compared to other classes it still lacks behind, and if builds in the game push for speed and damage the reaper will be left behind, as other classes still outshine it here,

For PvP im sure there are plenty of builds, but compared to the new Mesmer Elite spec its not even close, you will be dead all day long before you get the new ultra slow necro skills off,

But to each there own, if you enjoy it, happy days, play away, I will not be.

Precursor prices after expansion

I was thinking about this over the last few weeks, but now I don’t think the market will crash the way everyone thinks, first up no one knows what is needed for pre-cursor crafting, if the scavenger hunt is to long, or it requires something with a stupidly low drop rate, then people will not do it, as the whole reason people wanted pre cursor crafting was to remove the RnG from it,

So that leaves the age old, those who will grind it vs those who want it now, the problem here is the people who want it now will see a market that will dry up with pre’s as who will waste 1000’s of gold on RnG when you have a sure fire way of getting what you want.

So no unless Anet does something with drop rates after HoT is released, I cant see the market changing all that much.

BL Keys on sale

Anet, you need to make this happen more often, I didn’t actually see they where on offer last night until a guild mate mentioned it, the deal was good enough to make me actually buy gems to make use of it,

5 keys for less than the price of a normal one, you should either run this offer once a month, or consider dropping the price of the keys permanently.

I must be playing a different game, I personally found the Necro a let down compared to other classes, the GS attack is to slow, in high end PvE you would be massacred by an enemy before getting to the 3rd auto attack on skill 1, in PvP anyone who can dodge and you are missing, I think this is why they have put so much into chill,

The REAPER part of it I also found boring to use, so much so I actually dropped the elite spec and moved back over to DS, for me the expansion brings nothing to make me want to continue playing my Necro.

I know im not alone in these comments, ive spoken to a few people whom also don’t like it,

I love playing my necro but the new spec/weapon are a real let down for me.

First up, I love playing Necro, I was looking forward to playing the GS when we had access, but after playing it, I have to honestly say I don’t see where this weapon will be of any use in the game, maybe just maybe it could be used in PvP but its that slow that the chances are you will be burst down and splatted before you even get a chance,

Unless there are major changes to it, I don’t honestly see me ever using a GS.

Does anyone else feel like this.

Mesmers trolling with their portal

How do you propose to report a single Mesmer from maybe 20 at a world boss event, espically when everyone is standing on top of the chest,

The easier thing to do would be to wait a few seconds and the portal will close.

On the topic of trolls, the best I seen was when the old bag farm at Union Waypoint in Malchor’s Leap, where someone took the portal gun stood in middle of zerg and teleported over the edge, as there was no restrictions on the number of people who can go threw it, nearly the entire zerg who was randomly press F to collect loot, went for a trip over the edge and died.
