They picked a time that there is most players online.

I’m sure they have their reasons. An example could be one time items maybe that you will be able to get. If they hosted it on different servers at different times whats stopping people from flooding into them other servers, since… well you know, there is no cost to change server just a 24 hour wait. What ever there reason is who cares. If you can’t be there, you can’t be there.

Im not whining. If youd read what im saying youd see im handling missing it like any sensible person would.

The internet informs just as much as it spoils. That said, everyone would know about it it and know how not to have it spoiled.

I want a better reason from Anet. Something that actually makes sense within the reality of things and one that doesnt cling to their “fun” ideals to make it sound justified.

But i always will appreciate their ideals concerning how to enjoy a game, dont get me wrong.

Ah i see but i think you misunderstand.

I dont want them to change the times altogether but arrange them so that multiple timezones can experience it at a reasonable hour.

For example (and im just makin these times up) you and i might see it at 12pm EST and then again at maybe midnight when it repeats for the Australians or something, who experience it at 12pm their time.

See what i mean? Basically it repeats like everyone wants it to.

What irritates me is that that idea was clearly on the table (since he brought it up in his post) but was shot down cuz “the internet will spoil it.”

Im never bummed about missing events like these as ill just watch it later but when i miss it because of that logic, im made a bit angry.

Its just a magic find set made up of pre-existing skins. For example, the heavy version is identical to the pit fighters set.

Someone else got rich from superfluous amounts of exotics. Does that in any way infringe upon you and your enjoyment of the game? No it doesnt, except to say that youre bummed you missed it. Lol

And I seriously doubt the economy is as bad as the “four” of you all over these forums keep saying. Im making money working the TP just fine as are other people. If it was bad, I wouldnt be able to do that because i wouldnt be able to trust the patterns i see in the markets I work.

In regards to tge Mad King set, I wouldnt worry too much about getting it or not. The skins are identical to skins that were already in the game (heavy is the pit fighter set for example) and the most unique thing about it is the raven call when you use an elite. A neat idea, but perhaps no diff looking than that ranger ability, call the flock?

If you like magic find then go for it but ots nothin special really.

Concerning halloween wep skins, theyre not thst expensive right now. Farm some gold snd buy them. If you cant afford what you want, buy a couple cheap ones to profit with AFTER halloween.

Concerning the MF weps, buy the recipe and farm/buy the halloween specific mats NOW. If you have those than you csn make the weps at your own pace without worrying about hslloween ending.

The skins in the trading post arent that expensive. Farm some gold and buy them. If you cant afford the one you want, buy a couple cheap ones and sell em for a nice profit AFTER halloween.

Hey all. Just a quick question.

Id like to get the reward from the Act 2 plotline on a lower level toon but it takes you into higher level zones. No big deal, as me and my buddy were planning on escorting each other with our mains.

To make things easier however, im wondering if we can get away with simply doing the quest on our mains and banking the reward to the other toons PROVIDED that the book is account bound prior to equipping it and it becomes soulbound.

So thats my question: is the book account bound before equipping it or is it soulbound? I didn’t even bother to look when i completed Act 1. Lol

No, They lost my trust long before this. I refuse to spend cash in the cash shop. Most of the cash shop items are junk anyway. Perhaps I would have paid for a permanent golem banker. I might have also paid for a nice set of exotics if the price was decent enough to set off the Karma grind. However as a philosophy, I don’t believe in paying for in game items. especially when the game is lackluster.

I USED those boosts, I USED those salvage kits, I USED those mining picks and i farmed the living crap out of Orr and now i have the shield, rifle, and the pauldrons so that money WASNT WASTED.

Plus, TP prices on the skins keep going down (thanks to those mad chests increasing stock) so if you really want your precious money to mean something, fork it over for gold and be done with it.

When money stops being made, then theyll look into why that is but cmon, thats not gonna happen lol

The only data theyre paying attention to (and is worth paying attention to) is who buys what, how many, and how often.

That alone tells them everything they need to know. As long as there’s profit theyll continue to do it and they csn collect that data on their own.

The mad king chests was a gesture of leniency towards us and we should all appreciate it but money HAS to be made somehow.

If you really want to send a message, just stop purchasing items from the GS with real money.

Cuz i didnt whine on the forums, realized all those boosts and salvage kits i got could help me farm Orr, farmed Orr and bought the dang skins right out the TP (whose prices have steadily been declining and will continue to do so now there are more ways to get skins).

So everyone should just take a loss and make the best of it. You might surprise yourself if you just be quiet and take stock of the situation.

Now obviously the gem store is anets plan to make money on a game with no subscription fee so why this random crap with the boxes a few people are happy but as a whole its just pissing people off.

Basically people got tricked with this event expecting reasonable drop rates so they will make some money but how many people who got kittened on the boxes or just heard about how bad the drop rates are are going to buy gems again. If the skins had just been released on Bl people could have just got what they wanted and would still be willing to spend money on future events.

I gotta admit, I expect things like this from Korean F2P MMOs. This is a little ridiculous. Instead of a fun event for new, experienced and casual players alike they’ve pretty much turned it into an event where you have to pay 50 bucks just to get in the door.

I mean, if you center your whole enjoyment of the holiday around acquiring halloween themed skins and dropping real world money on the gems to exchange for gold because you’re impatient and don’t want to spend a few days raising the dough yourself……sure. I can see how one might see it that way.

Spent 30 bucks on keys to open my chests before I knew just how bad the drop rate was. Leftover gems went towards gold for my in-game wallet.
Got nothing.
So I stopped.

But then I decided to see what 20 or so pieces of candy corn ran in the TP. Quite a fair about of silver, understandably, given the current circumstances.

So I began to farm those. I sold them apart from trick or treat bags as the bags sell much higher in groups (as they yield the chance for a rare halloween mat).

I paid attention the Skin prices in the TP. They’ve done nothing but go down FYI, since this event started.

I hit about 15g. I noticed that the Ghastly Grinning shield (my baby) was going for about 23g (the lowest I’ve seen it go since).

Spent about 20 real world dollars for that extra boost as I had to act quickly.

Now I have the shield.

Add that to the 20 or so repair kits I found (a money saver for those roflstomp dungeon runs), the 3 black lion express, the 10 fine T-mute stones, the 3 Black lion salvage kits and the karma, magic, XP, and speed boosters to help my main farm Orr and I’d say it’s 50 bucks well spent.

I’m now working towards that rifle which is sitting at only about 3.5g so a little patience is all I need for that since there’s still a week left.

I just want people to understand that if you stop, realize you simply got unlucky, analyze the situation and realize how you can tackle it otherwise, it’s not so bad. Not at all.

As for the MF weapons. That shortbow is sick and that certainly will be a fun goal to obtain. But it’s one I know won’t happen this week. But there is always next year.

This stuff isn’t going away guys.

Patience is all you need to enjoy the spoils of halloween.

As far as we know that’s it. Someone somewhere would’ve uncovered something by now.

However..

It’s also possible that that achievement relates to DE’s specific to halloween. Perhaps something out in the world and that the achievement is separate from the events pertaining to the main storyline (i.e. the memoirs)

I spent 30 bucks and got no skin. I’ll try 20 when I get paid again but after that if I get nothing than I’ll simply farm some gold and buy what I want off the TP and reap the rewards of having 8 million repair canisters (which save gold), a handful of BL salvage kits (which is more gold via, rare salvaged mats) boosts to help me farm……..the list goes on.

The prices aren’t that outrageous on the TP either. They’ll go up obviously after the event is over but not to the degree of a precursor or anything.

Even if THAT happens, a week is enough time to get the gold you need.

What does that entail exactly? I have heard the moniker of the game is F2P, F2P, F2P, but what does that entail? Are your expectations of F2P (which you did buy the game for 60 dollars let me remind you), different from other peoples? Of course they are! You can’t say they aren’t! It’s a real shame that this issue is being lost in, “they have to make money” There are quite a few ways they could make money without having to rely on a RNG, assume for a second that, everything Potato says is true about how in demand the GS Saw is (and I know it is in high demand) Think if they had priced it at 5 dollars, no they would not have made as much from this as their Black Lion Keys, but they wouldn’t have lost the trust of people either.

Trust is more important in the long run in business operations than money ever is, trust is money my friend. Again, though I’m all over the, sorry I lost, yeap cool, I’ll get over it, it’s the people that won’t get over that hurts ANet in the long run, and it hurts us too. Lost confidence = lost sales = lost money to spend on playing players.

If it makes you feel better the prices are dropping rapidly on the trading post and will likely continue to do so as the event goes on. The shield is only 20g, which can be made in a day or two of hard work. The only overly expensive one at this time is the Greatsaw, which will likely drop down to 30g-ish in time.

That shield right now IS my legendary and if my only obstacle is making the dough to buy it, then I am OK with that. lol

I check news to see about new games but now after watching the video I see why I wouldn’t have seen it.

Was just a “hype” video and I pretty much skip hype for any game even the ones I’m really really interested in.

Yes the video gave me the “we’re different” in areas but whole thing was hyping but I already know people eat the hype up like its nobodies business…..to often just blows up in their face.

Well the vid did come out about 2, maybe 4 years prior to release so certain realities in the design should’ve been expected as development continued.

Plus the video makes no mention of the cash shop or anything pertaining to it so I don’t even know why someone linked it in this thread.
