Dynamic System reward system needs tweaks

1. DE’s should have static rewards based on the level of the zone youre in. None of this gold, silver, bronze garbage.

2. If a player leaves the area in which a DE is taking place and it finishes, he/she gets zilch.

Problem solved. Youre welcome Anet.

Uncontested Temple of Balthazar

With our recent update we fixed most of the issues with events in Straits of Devastation that prevented players from successfully taking the Temple of Balthazar. There is one outstanding issue we will address in a future – as it might look to players as being broken while it is not, I would like to explain what is happening:

• The bug occurs in the final event of the 3 meta events;
Escort the northern invasion Pact squad to the Pact rally point at Triumph Plaza.
Escort the central invasion Pact squad to the Pact rally point at Triumph Plaza.
Escort the southern invasion Pact squad to the Pact rally point at Triumph Plaza.
• When the bug occurs all of the NPCs in the Pact squad will bunch up on top of each other.
• The bug will correct itself once the NPCs engage a hostile creature that gets too close.

As you are all know, spawns in Orr are rather fast, so as long as you let the NPCs aggro a nearby creature, the event will continue.

This is great but why werent these details included in the Dec 3rd patch notes? (Assuming thats when the fix was implemented)

In what way are you guys going about this?

And what kind of timeframe are we looking at? Before or after wintersday?

“Tanked” Kohler last night. Didnt even mean to. Everyone just sort of drifted to the back and line o sighted him.

Popping aegis in the middle of his spin (if i missed the dodge) allows me to survive it. Just an example of how champs can be dealt with in certain scenarios. Prob coulda kept going with him on my own lol

+healing power is amazing.

I rock a mace/shield/hammer with sigils of life on the melee and a sigil of energy on the shield.
Im mostly in Cleric’s with some apothecary thrown in (money constraints) snd ive got two superior runes of water, the monk, and 2 major runes of sanctuary. The heals and boon duration stack.
Im also traited so that i heal when i dodge, put down a symbol, etc.

Im not too much for damage but im not really supposed to. I keep everyone alive, apply boons and remove conditions. Just last night I tanked Kohler for a pug while everyone else line of sighted him from range.

I didnt dodge every pull either. Lol

My point is +heals is very useful in the hands of a capable player. I pretty much dont die. Lol

Two Legendaries

I’m sure you can… No reason to put two gift of exploration if you can only equip one legendary..

A good thought but just as well they could’ve given you two to ease the process of getting a legendary on another toon since the gifts are account bound.

I imagine 100% world completion would be a bore to get the second time around so giving you two from doing the first is sort of a favor from Anet to us. lol

But who knows?

Has this game gone downhill?

Oreoz.2573

I actually made a guild two weeks ago. It consisted of the ‘last’ players of other guilds. I was the leader of a guild of 20+ players, and my other guild mates also had guilds of that number.

My new guild is less than 10 strong. A ragtag team of ‘survivors’ you might say.

Its called Treadmill [gear]. Hit me up with an invite if you’d like.

But to answer your claim. It doesn’t solve much really. If anything, I log on to the game to talk to my guildmates rather than play the game itself. And the most hilarious problem with guilds:

Say you have 5 guild mates. Doing fractals is fine. You all advance happily. now if you have a number that is not a multiple of 5, those players are either going to be: not playing with you, or at a difficulty different to you. Fractals actually RUIN guilds.

Your argument seems to rest solely on the assumption that everyone in a guild feels the need to run fractals all the time or that fractals are the only thing worth doing. Wrong.
As I said, my guild devotes nights of the week to all areas of the game. If various members share different fractal levels than noone has any problem whatsoever starting from scratch to get them up because HEY we’re in a guild and it’s fun.

Also it sounds like your guild is too small. Expand. Advertise. How do you think my guild found me and I it?

Running a guild takes work.

Also it sounds like the initial formation and naming of your guild revolves around your shared bleak outlook towards this game.

Having said that it comes as no surprise that your numbers are so small. Who wants to work and play with players who have such pessimism? That’s just depressing. The name of your guild says that much on it’s own.

So no, I’d have to argue that Fractals doesn’t ruin guilds.

Wow, cheers for the primer for starting up a guild. I’d start believing it too if your whole post wasn’t marred by the failure of your assumptions. See the thing is, my guild used to like doing fractals. We met and made a guild because we all ran fractals together. However, you can’t reasonably expect everyone to be on a the same time and to be able to play together. Fractals with friends require this.

The devs themselves even admitted it was a design oversight last week in their AMA. Your guild either slows down to accommodate for players who haven’t caught up or everyone needs to wait for their friends to get online in order to proceed. The whole design goes against cooperative play with friends and likens itself to favoring opportunists who want to soldier on by themselves. But hey, don’t take my word for it, the devs themselves have admitted it so.

You see, I’m glad for you and your guild of happy co-workers. Whether that is the general outlook for all the guilds across GW2, you and I both won’t know. But the fact my guild consists of the ‘last player’ of their pervious guilds is saying something.

The most interesting part of your response was when you said “slows down.”

Who are you racing against?

What is the hurry?

And yes, everyone is on at the same time to do the fractal levels they want. It’s the benefit of being in a larger guild because our guild leaders did their duty and advertised themselves and worked at it.

I have friends in Sweden now because of those guys. lol

The differentiating levels are an oversight. Hopefully they “tier” them as rumor suggests.

But it’s got to be said that if you want improvement, you need to expand. You need to work to be able to achieve what you want. If joe isn’t on to do fractals, then play with betsy or so on and so forth.

Why do they always need to be on the same level as you? From what i’m seeing the lower levels reward more right now anyway. lol

And no, the fact that your “guild” of less than a dozen consists of players from guilds that have disbanded doesn’t say anything except that you have a guild with a handful of players who had a bad experience with a previous guild.

To imply that that’s saying something is like me taking a handful of sand from a beach, chucking it into the water and then pointing at the rest of the beach and going “YOU’RE ALL NEXT.”

The experiences of some is not reflective of the experiences of the many unless we have hard numbers showing otherwise.

We don’t.

So I can only reiterate what I said before.

Expand your guild so that you have a larger pull of players to choose from when it comes to playing fractals. If they’re not on the same level as you then so what? You’re in a guild. Play together. Get each other up there!

And I would again recommend changing the name. It’s kind of alienating.

Actually, this was explained by an Arenanet employee that it isn’t indicative of how many players are actively online at that time.

I’m referring to how before Nov15, there was the ever present issue of player congestion in Orr, and that there was simply no reason to go elsewhere in the game. Arenanet’s solution, to introduce FotM, simply solidifies this problem by adding another tier of loot only accessible via one dungeon in the game, with horrendous grind. There’s simply no-one in the mid level areas, and with good reason too.

Then why am I actually seeing people in the mid level areas? No matter what zone I went to there were still people doing events with me. There is still the same population. In level 70-80 zone people are still doing Claw of Jormag in big numbers. You can catch groups doing events in level 50 zones… The only less populated place is 2/3 maps of Orr and even then I’ve seen 6 people there. Starter areas are booming in population too.

I want to see a time stamp on those photos or your just making crap up. Anyone can post a photo and claim it’s from a certain time when it doesn’t have a time stamp.

They can change the number of people to make it show high at anytime though.

If numbers dip you can change high at 2000 to 1250 to high to give the impression of volume. Numbers lie

Fortunately, the contested waypoints around the Straits of Devastation don’t. Even if the game servers WERE full, it doesn’t change the fact that everyone’s funneling into the fractal dungeons now, rather than helping their fellow players achieve exotic sets in Orr.

This effect alone is pushing players out the door. Anyone who thinks this game is going anywhere BUT down is out of their minds. All but five people in my guild have stopped logging in over the course of the last two weeks. According to the posts of others in this thread, I am not alone in this plight.

The demographics are pretty telling.

Orr isn’t empty due to Fractals. I can almost guarantee it.

Orr is empty because Orr never works. That’s why.

Funny, because everyone on Tarnished Coast was running it prior to the release of FotM; kitten near everyone who had been since launch was wearing full Armageddon or better.

Clearly, it works well enough to accomplish what needs done for now.

Funny, cuz it was broken for a straight week on my server so the zone was empty.

ZOMFG WE HAVE DIFFERENT PLAYING EXPERIENCES!!

Plus Orr truly does break all the time. Look at the Dynamic Events threads. And yeah, that dozen or so folk you see wearing Armageddon must mean that there’s no flaws in Orr whatsover and Fractals must be ruining everything.

claps

The game has bugs. It has issues. But it’s not going down.

Do you realize naysayers are kind of like an industry joke?

Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but really I just see that as “new content before improved content”.
I would much much much rather they said something, anything, about the few major issues as seen on the forums (for example, a party search that actually works), panic over the potential future of gear treadmills, t6 mat drops, and so on. New stuff is great, but it’s starting to feel like they’re ignoring the current playerbase, “w-what did you say? The concrete we poured for the foundation isn’t dry yet? But look at the beautiful backsplash we’re putting in your kitchen!”
Hopefully, new content doesn’t mean new bugs – this time around.

This. I’d be 100000% more impressed and excited for class bug fixes, trait fixes/improvements and build variety as well as making old content actually worth playing more rather than getting new content where the old stuff just get’s completely forgotten and thrown away.

Purely my opinion, but their priorities just plain suck.

I second this. The amount of bugs (and sometimes how these bugs were produced) is astonishing. Instead of new content I’d really love to see more bugfixes, especially because I fear that the new content will introduce another pile of bugs.

I’ll third this.

Forum posters are the ones being heard. Whether or not what they say represents the feelings of the community at large is irrelevant to that fact.

If you have CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, then post it on the forums. The feedback will be read. Who gives a kitten if what you say represents the majority or not? If what you say matters to more than one person, your inquiry will naturally garner support.

This thread in particular is a useless argument. It is not constructive and therefore is an inadvertent counterproduct to what the OP is trying to accomplish.

A few things:

There won’t be another tier of gear. Ascended is the final tier to be added for the foreseeable future. They had plans to implement ascended prior to launch. They have now. Vertical progression will come in the form of infusion slots and upgrades. It’s going to be very minor and hardly a blip on the radar of a player playing who doesn’t have the gear at all. This is a fact. If the difference were noticeable then that crazy thread from prior to the Lost Shores would still be going.

Seeing as how it’s not, I wouldn’t worry too much about a “power creep.”

Now on to the topic.

I am a casual player. I have just under 300 total hours play and I don’t play for much longer than 4 hours a day.

This is my “daily” every day:

1. Complete dailies. Earn jug of karma. Bank the jug.
2. complete at least 3-6 dungeon paths. Earn 1.5-2g AT LEAST.
3. Kill Claw of Jormag. Buy one Icy Runestone.
4. Head to Frostgorge/Southsun Cove. Mine 20-30 Orichalcum Ore. Bank the ore.
5. Bank leftover gold.
6. Play the rest of the game, always having at least 50s for travel/repairs at any given time.

And that’s it. Very simple. The karma for obsidian shards is easily obtained. 70 jugs, when drunk with the 5% banner, the 15% and the boost gives you over 500,000 karma. You can just wait till you have enough and knock out the shards in one trip. Aim for a higher jug count if you want to account for shards lost making clovers. Very simple.

My point is there really is no such thing as karma farming for those who want to or those who don’t.

In my case, my legendary requires 100 icy runestones. These are 1g apiece from the vendor after the Claw is killed. I play AC a few times, BOOM. I now have 1g. From this it will take about 4 months to get the runestones I need. No big deal there.

And imagine if a precursor drops from the Claw? If it’s mine, WHOOPIE! If not, then I can expect my gold requirement to be at least halved from selling it.

And all this can be done while acquiring and/or salvaging the appropriate mats you need. Most likely my legendary is going to take at least a year, maybe more because I am a casual player in the strongest sense of the word.

Now you might say “YOU NEED A GUILD OR A GROUP TO DO DUNGEONS AND BENEFIT FROM BANNERS!”

And that’s true.

So I went and got one.

Posted LFG in the guild forums right on this site. Very next day I got an invite into the guild I’m in now, Supply and Demand, on the Northern Shiverpeaks server. 100+ members, always at least 30 or more on in my primetime hours, all willing to do whatever and help each other.

There’s really no excuse for not being able to find groups to run content with. Once the bugs with Orr are fixed and the event chains run more reliably, I doubt anyone will have trouble completing that content either as there will be TONS of players there. So concerning that, just give it time.

Impatience.

It’s one players largest obstacle to getting their legendary.

Easily overcome if you look at acquiring the mats to do so as individual goals rather than freak out because you’re looking at the whole of the project and becoming intimidated.

I have a plan to acquire my legendary.

It will take a year, maybe more because I’m a casual player.

But my question to all of you in the same boat……..so what?

Farming for Legendary is rediculous.

A few nights ago 800 gems was worth sbout 8g. Looks like you had bad timing. Lol

I don’t see what is so funny. If the gem vs gold market is this unstable. Then the devs need to dracticly lower the qualifications of a ledgendary. Sure a small handfull of people have legendaries, but did they get them legitly? Or just bought all their gold from gold sellers to help speed up the qualifications of all the stuff needed for a ledgendary? All the bots still in game tells me otherwise.

His/her bad timing was funny, never mind the exchange rate. You read into it too much.
Buut since were here i might as well simply ask……who are you racing against to get a legendary? If not, how does someone else getting one before you impact your game? It most likely doesnt except to complain that old methods are no longer available which is hardly a reason to complain neway.

As far as the exchange rate goes, buying gold with gems is a terrible idea and really should never be done. Anet has to make money so the return is always going to be less than desirable.

And as far as legendaries go ive already outlined the bedt way to go about getting thrm for the casual player (which i believe the majority are). Impatience is ghe only thing standing in peoples way at this point. Sure theres the RNG clovers thing, butthat just takes more patience since you will eventually get what you want.

Theres no further argument to be made.

The best way to really get a legendary is to treat the acquisition of the materials as individual goals rather than be intimidated by looking at what you need all at once.

I don’t think the actual crafting materials are much of an issue for people. These were always going to take time to get and arguably can be gotten in the time it takes to farm the two things people ARE worried about:

1. Karma. The plinx was a bit of a blow but only at first. Save your jugs of karma. 70 of them drunk with the 5% banner, the 15% and the boost will net you all the karma you need to knock out the 250 obsidian shards in one trip. Thats about two months of work plus change. Thats for the initial 250 though. Youll need more to mske those clovers so aim high with your jug count if you wish to account for that. Basically, if you have patience, then karma farming is no longer an issue.

2. Money. Dungeons net you about 20-25s each run. 3 runs at best will get you 75. A 4th will even you out at 1g (loot drops and sales notwithstanding). So imagine if you did 3 paths for 3 of your favorite dungeons. Thats 3g. The money for a precursor (depending on which one) will come after maybe about a year. Maybe a bit more. But in that time im salvaging ectos and other T6 mats.

In my case I need 100 icy runestones as well. So this has been my “rotation:”

1. Do dailies. Jug of karma.
2. 3-6 dungeon runs. Earn 1-3g.
3. Kill the claw of Jormag. Buy an icy runestone.
4. Go to frostgorge/southsun cove. Mine at least 20-30 orichalcum ore from rich and regular veins.
5. Bank leftover gold.
6. Play the rest of the game.
7. Repeat next day

I consider myself a casual player. So i know how long its going to take me to get a legendary. My rotation is very basic and doesnt take into account gold i might make from selling rares or mats i dont need or any other random instance that may occur or even guild help. I understand it will take time to get what i want. Im a patient msn and thats truly all you need.

So come up with a plan for every day. Those activities i listed take about two hours max. Easy for a casual. Just take it step by step and the progress you make will curb sny frustrations you may have towards the task at hand because you will honestly feel as though youre getting closer, which you will be.

Here, this is a list of (most) of the named exotics that can be created in the mystic forge. In many cases people prefer these to their legendary counterparts such as Mjolnir over The Juggernaut.

Keep in mind 3 things though:

1. Each of these recipes requires an Eldrich Scroll, sold from Mitani for 50 Skill Points. If you want one of these to tide you over asthetically until you get a legendary, youll have to “level” that much more for 200 skill points.

2. These are exotic weapons which means they will likely be slightly inferior to the ascended weapons once they role them out. A simple Tmute stone fixes this however.

3. These recipes are a grind. No doubt. But its for the materials only, nothing else. No RNG here (CLOVERS). Once you have what you need, youre done.

So check em out.

Anet nerfs farming spots because they want you to buy gems. Course, that doesnt help since the grind itself will either make a player simply quit snd/or buy gold from gold sellers at a flat price that doesnt rely on shifting exchange rates.

The argument here is that the game is fun to play so that eliminates grind.

Wrong.

Grind is grind and fun content will only ease that pain so much.

When: Saturday, December 1st at 7pm EST

My guild (Supply and Demand) are preparing an assault on the temple at the aforementioned date and time and we would like as much help as possible in doing so. The priest is a kittenhole and it is our hope that we crush him with sheer numbers.

Depending on where the DE’s have progressed in the Straits at that time, my guild and I will act accordingly, dividing our numbers to ensure the North and South make it to Rally Waypoint. If you wish to assist, just show up in the Straits and pay attention to the chat.

We will routinely make callouts concerning who needs help and where apart from our own teamspeak channel so outsiders need not worry about not knowing whats going on and where.

Save any karma boosts/jugs you may have until we have control of the temple in the event things bug out beyond our control to fix. If and when we get there my guild will drop the appropriate banners for everyone. I also will update the “Uncontested….” thread IF we are successful.

So come on out saturday night and lets take him down!

So please fix it

An even better example are the Lovers in AC story. Unlike Kholer, where the only strat is to time a dodge, The Lovers actuslly require a legit bit of teamwork.

I just ran it with my guild last night. Im a hammer guardian so I took on the role of preoccupying hubby while the rest of my group wailed on wifey. Theres a dynamic there. I had a job. I did my job and everything went smoothly. Wifey went down and hubby was dead 2 min later.

That fight was rewarding becausing TEAMWORK prevailed beyond the idea of just placing boons and heals on each other.

If the fights were interesting maybe more people would fight.

Take the colossus in the FoTM. That whole “boss” is incredibly interesting. He’s chained up. Why? Who is he? Who are these cultists? Add to that the hammer mechanic, which requires everyone to share the load. This is both interesting and rewarding as the final treat is the Colossus walking off into the mists.

Its not a matter of loot. Theyre addressing that. Its not a matter of time (the fights dont really take all that long in reality).

It’s a matter of YAWN.

Kohler?

He’s just a pissed off ghost who spins. Neat.

Anet needs to make these fights more interesting. That will be a reward in and of itself.

Why?

Because when Kholer falls dead, i want to remember the fight for what it was. Right now bosses arent much different from the mobs thst precede them.

Hopefully these dungeon revamps add some new tricks.

I agree. I constantly, CONSTANTLY see Arah bugged, whether its on these forums or my own server. And the escort to the rally WP from Lone Post bugs out all the time too.

Been going on for months.

What gives?

Orr gameplay is awful

1. Orr is not meant to be soloed

2. If you are alone, join a guild. I posted LFG and found one on the forums the next day. “Supply and Demand.” Great bunch of guys and gals. 100+ members. All active.

3. Having said that, you go to Orr WITH A GROUP to farm mobs, events, get your obi shards, lodestones, etc.

4. There is no such thing as a karma grind. The Plinx nerf means nothing. 70 jugs of karma from dailies equals 2 months plus change. Drink your karma with a boost, the 5% and 15% guild banners. Boom. 535,500 karma. Youll have 5 shards left over. who’s Plinx again?

I think that about covers it.

I’m just looking for a fairly well established guild (which to me is at least 50-100 active players).
I do just about everything but PvP and WvW but I will participate in those kinds of activities if either the pickin’s slim or if we decide to enter WvW as a guild.

I’m not rude. I listen to suggestions and I’m open to change and/or modifications to my gear/build in order to tackle any given situation so long as you do it WITHOUT an elitist attitude (i.e. you verbally put me down because you don’t agree with my choices).

Just drop me a PM whenever

As disappointed as I am in this event I think we can all agree on two things for the long term and I think they’re the only two things that matter.

1. The Fractals. Amazing. Buggy sometimes but due to it’s permanent status those issues have time to be resolved (unlike OTHER things).

2. Despite your unhappiness with not being able to participate in the finale or mine, the fact is that precursors have come down significantly in the TP. Dusk and Dawn are still the most expensive at about 200-250g but most of the rest are sitting anywhere from 100g to 150g which is a much more reasonable amount to work towards while you save up your other Mats.

As a side note someone has Volcanus up for about 600g and Foefire’s Essence for like 450g. Riiiiiiiiight. lol

Those weps aren’t worth much more than 100-120g since that’s what you’d spend buying the lodestones for either recipe all at once. lol

Forget the loot drops.

WHY are these events running on such a short time frame?
WHY is Anet crippling themselves when bugs occur BECAUSE they have such a short time frame to work in?
WHY can’t a 3 hour+ final DE run multiple times over the course of a day or two?
WHY is it hard to please as many players as possible by simply making it last longer?
WHERE is the monetary gain on their end for containing these things to only a weekend? Sure you’ll make more money off the TP from players feeling rushed but you’ll make just as much if not more by extending the time in which you’re working.

WHY
WHY
WHY

WHY are decisions being made that cripple developer and community alike?

MORE time would’ve allowed them to find, isolate and fix those NPC bugs.
MORE time would’ve allowed players to actually figure out what was going on without being rushed and minimal “hand holding” in game would’ve been forgiven.
MORE time would’ve allowed for a patch to speed up the trebuchet construction process for servers/overflows who still hadn’t moved into phase 3.
MORE time would’ve allowed players to participate in the final event.

Again, WHY is Anet crippling us and themselves by working in these short time frames?
It’s free to play so concurrent users doesn’t matter.
The gem store items will still be bought and money will still be made if it’s a weekend or a week long.

I DO NOT understand the logic other than to say it’s for lore/immersion reasons but all you have to do is take one look at any of the open world bosses and you’ll see that that can’t possibly be the reason.

This is the question that needs to be answered above all others.
Loot.
bugs.
lag.

None of that would’ve mattered REMOTELY as much if Anet had simply given themselves and us time to GET THINGS DONE.

So what’s the logic?

So what is there to do now in southsun cove?

in The Lost Shores

Posted by: Oreoz.2573

Oreoz.2573

As stands right now, there’s nothing to do in Southsun Cove except fuel a players desire for a change of scenery when farming/questing at lvl 80 but even then a player will go right back to Orr because let’s face it…..Orr’s just better.

Southsun Cove should’ve at least been on par. There needs to be more going on there and there just isn’t.

Thx a bunch for the build!

I was curious to know however your opinion concerning lonbow over rifle or vice versa.

Obviously this discussion has run its course but ill give you some specifics concerning my current time playing so you csn narrow it down.

Im a PvE player mostly and lvling an alt to 80. In this respect i switch between rifle and longbow out of preference since, lets face it, outdoor PvE content isnt exactly rocket science. Lol

My curiosity concerns their usage in AC as its the only dungeon ill be doing for the forseeable future (not cuz the others r bad, i just like to get wat i want b4 i move on to the next).

Do you prefer one or the other in these ex modes? Personally I found the longbow to be most effective since i use its slows and immobilize to CC those graveling scavs and the might coming off of burst+3 benefits not just the group but this build as well.

What do you or others prefer specifically for this dungeon?

I am frustrated and not finding this fun

Half are right and half are somewhat right.

While we did pay for a product the fact remains that MMOs ARE a complicated beast and one that can’t be tamed as quickly as we all want it. We paid for a product and the expectations that came with that product yes, but we also willingly paid for a product that comes with certain limitations, such as the inability to be perfect all the time. This is something that everyone knows and understands.

HOWEVER

Noone likes content that’s literally unplayable due to bugs or lag.

PTR
PTR
PTR
PTR

Arenanet, invest in some sort of PTR.

I’ll say it again,

PTR.

If you want to release content updates at the current rate or even at all, the very nature of your game literally BEGS for a PTR. Almost even requires it.
The events all rely on one another to work properly and if one fails, they all fail.

Clearly your in-house testing group can’t get it all done and we don’t expect them to but you really need to bite the bullet and “spoil” the content before it goes live so that we can test it for you.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Allow some way for your public to test these content patches. I literally see NO reason not to let us save for the threat of spoilers but in all reality, due to the very nature of MMOs and the internet, noone really cares about them anyway.

The poster has no obligation to sum them up again, since you can just use the scroll button and move up

maybe you should do the same and see i’ve been posting back and forth with various people since page 46 or 47.

lets be real here folks.

the majority of you that said you aren’t gonna play anymore………………….are gonna play. cmon now. You will. It’s a free game.

Actually, Guild Wars 2 was sort of going to be my last MMO. The way they set it up kind of spoiled me, especially after a few years of playing WoW.

Then they toss what made it fun out of the window. It’s left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m trying really hard to get them to see why it’s a bad idea. They made a game perfect for a niche market, and now they’re messing it all up.

well they just added more content and more gear and when you consider the static leveling curve it wasn’t gonna take you any longer to get it than it would’ve to get exotics but you don’t like to play mmos anymore so buh bye

sorry for being a kitten but I’m trying to get people to realize how stupid it is to complain about all this.

Ah well, I guess if you’re going to be an kitten I can be one too.

Go back to WoW if you want your +5 rings.

FACEPALM

I’m not even…just….ugh.

You went there?

Really?

“Go play WoW” = “I have no further argument.”

golfclap

It’s a niche game. I have plenty more to say about it, but most people in support of the change are simply regurgitating that “It’s not a slippery slope!” and “It makes me better because…???” and I’ve gotten tired of it.

Don’t feel bad.

Players who put far too much pressure on themselves and others to be the best or have the best are the ones who are creating the problem.

If you eliminate the pressure, you just have the game.

And last I checked we all agree that it’s fun to play the game.

Because people, including me, do not want to be forced to play a certain amount to remain in the game. Its the reason we loved GW1 and this area where GW2 was promised to be the same is the reason we like it too. More shinies, more stuff all good. More powerful stuff, bad. Its not complicated man.

That’s right. It’s not complicated.

YOUR’E making it complicated.

What is preventing you from remaining in the game accept the pressure you put on yourself to keep up?

Keep up with who?

See?

There’s no issue here accept that which players create for themselves.

Who said anything about quitting the game? (I know other people are, I have not) All I stated is that I will like Anet and GW2 less for doing this, and the reasons why. If you are still genuinely confused as to why people dont like this situation then Im afraid I cant explain it any more clearly – new stuff good, more powerful stuff bad.

That still doesn’t explain it.

and you said “remain in the game” so I took that as “potentially quit.”

The flat leveling curve means it’s not gonna take you any longer to get ascended gear than it would’ve to get exotics and if you already have ur exotics then it looks like you have to play the game i’m assuming that genuinely enjoy for a few hours to get ascended gear.

So it looks like Anet gave you more gear and more fun content through which to acquire it.

So if you can’t explain to me why everyone is complaining about that than I’m stuck believing there is no real issue here and we’re looking at 50 pages of people crying wolf.
