Mega Boss loot changes

Nothing is worth doing in this game.

Not without grind.

Normally fine in other MMOs.

Unfortunately in this MMO the sheer length of time you’ll spend doing the same old crap over and over again may outweigh one’s willingness to continue to spend that time playing.

Couple that with the fact that there’s nothing really more to do once you’ve achieved your goal…………….and you have someone like me.

A player who’s quit playing until Anet figures out exactly wtf they’re doing.

'Instance' maker leaves, everyone is removed.

Just quit playing until ascended gear comes out in full.

We’re never going to see good content for the sake of good content until it can be created without ascended gear being at the end of it.

Is this a good game?

I feel like new players shouldn’t even bother trying it until one of two things happens, or both.

1. Ascended gear comes out in full
2. Arenanet figures out wtf they’re doing and what kind of game they actually want this to be.

Ascended gear really should not have been added, not like this.
This is a mess. A complete mess. Currencies on top of currencies, grind on top of grind…….it’s all so terrible…..and confusing really.
I really really want to continue playing and liking this game but the decisions they’ve been making have just been all over the dang place.
It was stated in an AMA shortly after the gear came out that they foresaw the player rage that would come about but that they also regret limiting the acquisition of that gear to fractals only.

So….why did you release it? I literally don’t understand. It’s like Anet all said, “This is gonna suck…….let’s do it.”

I really really have no idea why they decided to screw themselves and go about releasing ascended gear in this way. I can’t even emphasize how much of a mess it is right now. The gear in it’s entirety, all the pieces, all the means of acquiring it…..it all should’ve been worked out and released as part of a full blown expansion.
These monthly updates should’ve just featured the story arcs, the changes to dailies/monthlies and the laurel system (sans ascended gear). New events should’ve been added to the zones apart from the Living Story ones to break up the monotony of the existing ones…..all kinds of small stuff that the fans appreciate. Weren’t we told that new DE’s would get cycled in and out all the time? To keep things fresh?
But no. Anet decided to just throw out ascended gear before everything was fully fleshed out in some mad dash at achieving some element of longevity cuz (SURPRISE), players acquired their legendaries faster that they thought they would.
I honestly believe that Arenanet made the mistake of shooting for the stars with this MMO without first having their feet planted firmly on the ground.

Seriously, they talk and hype waaaaaaaaaaay too much cuz with almost every single content patch SOMETHING has been bugged and/or gamebreaking.
They seriously need to stop trying to impress us so much. They’re like an eager son trying desperately to please his father but every attempt just fails because he’s so young and naive.
That’s Arenanet in a nutshell to me.

Arenanet needs to stop trying to be that boy. They should cut the B/S, come out with a PTR and let us test this and we can tell them what works and what doesn’t. Think of the knowledge that could’ve been gained had these missions been open to us for a few months so they could accurately see the effect it would have on guilds of all sizes.
Think of how The Lost Shores could’ve gone had we a chance to test it first?

They keep trying to be amazing. They’re not yet. They need to let us help and quit trying to do that which thus far, they’ve been unable to adequately do on their own. An MMO like this with such complex systems BEGS for a PTR.

Be it a monthly patch or a full blown expansion, they NEED some sort of test group that exceeds the capabilities of their in-house testers. They NEED that large scale player feedback.

Because right now, we have what we have currently: A hodgepodge of rushed systems all aimed at getting you gear that really, we shouldn’t even know about yet BECAUSE it wasn’t ready.

All you have to do is switch back and forth. Problem solved.

New problem: Large guilds and members of a few have said a lot they don’t want "leechers’. And you could in theory get caught up in that definition since you’re not fully devoting yourself to Harbingers of The Blackety Black Dawn of Twilight.

then find a large guild who doesn’t think that way?

Not everyone thinks the same just because a couple guys in-game/on the forums said so.

The first two are rewards and are primarily focused on cosmetics.
The last is saying you have to WORK/PAY to play supposedly “free” content. Hmm… And as far as that goes anyway, how much WORK is it exactly to join a 400 man guild and be another faceless name?

I was just thinking that. It seems like small guilds are expected to ‘WORK/PAY’ whereas large guilds get this handed to them without effort. (other than a lot of people logging on daily, I guess)

Anyway, people like that keep trying to divert the point, which has nothing to do with ‘having stuff handed to you’ or ‘refusing to WORK/PAY.’ It’s about how small guilds can take part in missions at all, & finding some solution that Anet can actually implement without changing their plan too much. I think such people are just being willfully blind at this point – or not listening. I’ve kind of tired of trying to explain.

eta: Also, people recommending huge guilds have put me off far more than I’d been previously. What an attitude! I mean, who wouldn’t want to put up with THAT each time you log in?

Rep a large guild. Do the missions when they have them. Enjoy the content.

Once that’s over, rep the small guild you’re in until such time you guys can take part in your own missions. Like I said, that’d take a month MAX to buy the influence if you work a little towards it.

All you have to do is switch back and forth. Problem solved.

Do you want to enjoy legendaries? Then you have to work/pay for it.
Do you want the rewards at the end of a dungeon? Then you have to work/pay for it

This is an MMO. The name of the game is longevity. Larger guilds with stocks of inf now have a reason to BE a large guild. Small guilds now have a goal that they can towards and if they’re such a tight knit group as everyone claims they are, then the journey should serve to bring them closer together.

This is just silly. If large guilds add nothing inherently to our game experience, why should they be encouraged at all? Why should new guilds be discouraged from ever forming?

You’re only faceless if you refuse to put yourself out there and meet people. I’m in a guild of 200 people. I was just made a Lt. because of my ongoing efforts to bring people together which has been a very enjoyable experience for me and my guild. So quit with that stupid assumption. And the content IS free. I mean pay with gold.

Well the idea about new guilds is that if they enjoy playing the game, then there’s no reason not to assume they won’t continue playing the game they enjoy to work towards a common goal that will FURTHER increase said enjoyment.

Noone is discouraging them. People take one look at the time it takes to gain access to these rewards and instead of reveling in the challenge and continuing to have fun in the game i ASSUME they’ve enjoyed up to this point, they outright QQ all over the place.

1 month.

That’s literally how much time it would take at MAX if a guild of five members actually made an effort to buy the influence.

Worth complaining about?

Nope.

Time must be spent before a reward can be enjoyed. It’s the same for large guilds as well.

The only difference here will be how much time and that’s not worth complaining about.

Because if so, I may as well whine and moan about how somebody used his large guild to help get him the world first legendary.

Oh wait, nobody cares that he did that?

Then why are we complaining that some guilds are gonna have to work harder than others, people?

HMMMMMM?

And WP costs don’t mean squat. I don’t care who you are. You could amass up to 25s in costs running around the world but ya know what?

One teensie weensie dungeon takes care of that.
Plus the increased loot rewards from bosses.

So I don’t wanna hear it.

The ONLY way WP costs should be affecting you negatively is if for some god forsaken reason you’re trying to see how many zones you can WP to in 15 minutes or something.

A mission that costs more than it gives is a badly designed mission, infact it promotes the idea that players go for their one boss then don’t helpanymore as they already got their chest.

Well luckily that’s not the case since you could WP 6 times during a mission for 30s…….cept the reward at the end is 50s and a guaranteed rare or higher.

WP costs still don’t matter.

The increased world boss rewards and of loot in general is what I believe to be what balances all this.

Ok so you’re a tight knit group? Then BE a tight knit group and play the game as you have been, farm up some gold and buy the influence. You as a guild can bunny hop from world boss to boss. The increased quality in loot ensures you’ll have what you need in a week or two (depending on play style or alts).

Now, does it suck that you have to spend all that influence on a completely irrelevant PvP tree? Sure but once all is said and done are you REALLY gonna care anymore?

No. Because you’ll have what you want.

Best thing for small guilds is to bite the bullet, cut your way through the tree and be done with it.

No, because the members are paying the price out of their own pockets, while many large Guild members don’t have to do so. In short, they are being punished for being small, as if that was inherently a bad thing, which obviously it isn’t.

Best thing to do for small Guilds, really, is NOT to pay a dime or spend influence on irrelevant trees at all, and wait until a better system is implemented, if it ever does. It’s just not worth the hassle and sacrifice for most smaller Guilds, I would imagine.

Of course the above means they cannot get (or at least, can’t obtain any time soon) Ascended gear the “Guild mission-way”, but that’s ANet’s fault (no offense)-the small Guild is not to blame for just being small.

Do you want to enjoy legendaries? Then you have to work/pay for it.

Or the small guilds will just switch to another game.

Well fine. They can do that. The truth of the matter is that it’s not going to happen in a large enough capacity for Arenanet to take notice of. I’m just saying that’s the way it is. MMOs can’t please everyone so bye.

Besides, if you don’t want to spend a few weeks to unlock something (manifesto or no manifesto), then MMOs probably ain’t yo game.

As far as WP costs go for bounties…..it doesn’t matter.
Why?

1. Large guilds will coordinate their bounty strikes so that the individual teams will only have to WP once.
2. Small guilds will have to travel together but c’mon, the guild reward plus ONE measly dungeon run after the fact will cover WP costs for that day and probably the next day as well.

People (including myself) tend to really over think things until they actually go out and do what they need to do and see that it really only takes an hour (exaggeration but you get the idea).

You need AoW5 for Guild Bounty Unlock.

You need Guild Bounty Unlock + Econ6 for Guild Treks Unlock

You need Guild Treks Unlock + Politics6 for Guild Rushes Unlock

You need Guild Rushes Unlock + AoW6 for Guild Challenges Unlock

You need Guild Challenges Unlock + Architecture6 for Guild Puzzle Unlock.

Have fun, guys. That’s a lot of chunks of 50k influence right there in dat lurvley linear progression of unlocks.

Yeah, it’s mind boggling.
They wanted it to be a time sync, just like Ascended.

Except now it just sucks because I can’t even do the content with my Guild. I can’t even do the content with another Guild as a bystander because there is no reason for non-Guildies.

It’s really, really sad how they went about this.

New/Small Guilds are screwed. You have to devote what? A month before you can even start doing Guild Missions together starting from level 1? Worst idea ever.

The sad thing is the content itself will probably wear out it’s welcome from an entertainment standpoint in about 2 weeks.

<facepalm> so no thought about the small 2-5 man guild? It seems that the better game content is now exclusively for huge Zerg Guilds. My guild currently has 3 active members and we will not have a chance to play this premium part of the game until after the servers are turned off. And no, we are not buying gems to pay for influence to get the good stuff. <facepalm, laugh, shakes head>

That’s not a guild. That’s a party. You’ve got plenty of content designed for you.

Oh? Ever hear of Destiny’s Edge, the most storied adventuring GUILD in Tyria? — 5 members.

Just to reply based on my experience in path 2;

It dosn’t seem to be a simple “add more adds”.
If the first word you read is ADD, then decide upon the quality of the new figths based on that, good for you.

So far, my experience seems to be that it has gotten easier and faster. Granted we did it with a rather decently skilled group, but no mobs or bosses were of any threat. Figuring out how to handle the boss at the end was a fresh take on the fights.

Well when the terms “rebuilt” and “revamped” are thrown around I expect much more than adds or a larger AoE or a laser.

The dungeon is hardly more interesting. I won’t use it to judge any future dungeon changes because that would be stupid but these fights are no more entertaining then they were before.

New Guild System Leaves out Small Guilds

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Oreoz.2573

Im going to play devils advocate here for a min.

Let’s say Arena Net removes the Art of War prereq and the first guild mission is open to all.
A small guild with less then 10 people probably could not finish it. There would then be backlash.

Lets say this sub 10 player guild did beat the first tier? Then they try to go for the next tier and they could not beat it because they do not have enough players. They would need 15 to beat it. Back lash again because they would be stuck at tier one until they recruited more and they would say its unfair. Nothing wrong with that complaint btw.

What I am getting at here is Arena Net is kitten if they do and kitten if they don’t.
Guild missions are for 10-25 players. The Art of War prereq is steep for most small/medium guilds but I also feel that this would motivate recruiting and keep the guilds active. The rewards are worth it. If you are in a 5 man guild or less this would leave you out for now. It sucks but it is what it is. There still is a lot of content to play, plus you can participate in guild missions. You will not the guild perks but at least you get descent personal rewards for it.

From what I have read you do not need to be in a 500 man mega guild, all you need is about 10-30 players and you can do most of this stuff. You cant unlock all tiers but at least you get the opportunity at the rewards once a week. Sure, the art of war is the big issue right now but you shouldn’t let that stop you from working together to get it done.

Maybe Anet will change the prereq, if so will that make this issue better for most?

Very valid points.

It’s just that it’s put behind a PVP tree. That’s probably what everyone is so mad about. Small active member guilds would have no problem working towards their goals and through the tiers, even if they had to recruit a few more because they wouldn’t have to change their playstyle.

Because it’s PVE.

Why the kitten is it behind a PvP tree? I just don’t get that decision. It pretty much screws everyone up.

It’s almost as if they’re freely acknowledging the idea that their PvP is lackluster atm and are trying to force everyone into it or something.

Loot Rewards. Fingers Crossed

Just did maw and a dragon and the rewards weren’t nearly what I would make over the multiple chests I’d get per day.

I’m giving it more time than that. If any of us honestly start to see a higher uptick in rares or exotics than that would accomplish what the previous loot system did not which was give players some friggin hope.

If the hope is there (i.e. the drop rates on rares/exos are high enough to warrant repeated play and noticeable progression but low enough that they’re not being outright handed to us) then the incentive will be there.

We’ll see over time if the drop rates are good enough to warrant doing anything to work towards anything.

Perceived strange drop rates on our part, was it? FACEPALM

Chest drops were only part of our “perceived” madness.

I’m anxious to see if quantity improves quality overall.

One would hope so since now we can only loot those dragons and other world bosses once a day.

If not it’s just gonna drive players into dungeons and fractals even more.

I’ll thank you for addressing the issue but I won’t thank you for fixing it.

Not yet.

Not till I feel like this game is worth playing again.

Sorry to be so negative but zero incentive to do anything is what’s led me to quit playing for the time being. Sure you can have fun with friends and explore and yada yada yada but this is an MMO.

Eventually you’re gonna wanna make some feasible progress on your personal goals and with the way things are now you’re given too little too often.

Like I said, I’m hoping increased loot quantity provides an uptick in quality. No player wants their hand held but in my case zero incentive was bred from zero hope.

People people, lets be real here.

Look at how the game rewards you now.

Do you really think these guild missions are gonna reward you with anything much better? My guess is no.

Either way it doesn’t SEEM like these missions are going to have enough content to keep people occupied for more than a week after the patch drops anyway.

Guild missions should be for guilds and for guilds only. Not for some random pugs to come wandering over. Since pugs can participate, they’re not exactly GUILD missions now are they?

The only need of guilds right now is for someone with a tag to flip some sort of ON switch so that everyone can participate in this really great DE that lasts 20 minutes.

oh joy. oh rapture.

I’m sorry but this game needs raids. I’ll let Arenanet decide how to balance that within the systems of GW2 (cuz i’m not stupid enough to think it’s gotta work like WoW to be successful) but there’s an utter lack of challenging content for guilds to take on.

This upcoming stuff I can almost guarantee will be faceroll fluff that’ll serve as the flavor of the month for March and will be completely forgotten afterwards. And also, based on the way we’re currently “rewarded” I doubt these new guild bonuses are going to be worth the time.

Guild Missions [merged]

Oreoz.2573

Not really because you are still essentially screwing over many guilds. So many other people who have responded notice the direct threat with this patch. Small guilds will not be able to do any of this content period -

Guild Missions will require large amounts of Influence
Large amount of players online at all times

The small guilds will never raise up enough influence, and they will not have enough players online/active to participate in the activities. This is gating many players, forcing them to join different guilds if they want to do these quests, and because of the rewards they will abandon the small/medium sized guilds practically instantly.

To be very blunt here, this up and coming patch is a dagger in the backs of many players – and needs to be stopped.

Let’s see. 36500 influence is needed to get Art of War 5.

The conversion between gold and influence is exactly 20c/influence.

So in other words, to get 36,500 influence, it costs exactly 730,000 coppers which is 73 gold.

Let’s assume we have here a very small guild. 5 active members.

If each pays their equivalent share of work, that would be ~15g per person. That’s not a lot. 3 CoF path 1 runs already generates ~2 gold/person and only takes half an hour.

Personally, I’d pay that much for the content I will receive. In game speaking of course.

yeah I really can’t justify paying 15 of my hard earned gold to play a mission that’s probably gonna take 10 minutes and, given the sorry state of rewards in this game, will compensate you little to nothing at all.

Cheaper waypoint costs means nothing to the person who realizes a simple dungeon takes care of any and all WP costs for that day, and then some.

So 73 gold? Each guild participant best get an ascended piece of their choosing then. No? Then I’ll hold on to my money thanks.

To get the tree started, 15g is a pretty good investment, so your opinion is as worthless as mine. However, if 15g isn’t spent on a guild expansion, it’d be spent on personal expansion (eg. new inventory space), or worse, wasted on items to be flushed down the Mystic Toilet.

Oh, and it’s permanent content, not 15g/run content. Personally, I’d put my money on things for keep. On the big scope of things, I’d say it’s a pretty kitten good investment.

It’s not to anyone that doesn’t want to spend all their influence to build up a PvP tree to play PvE.

As enjoyable as the bounties may be, I forsee the rewards being hardly worth the effort. Better to invest influence in a track that will actually benefit you as a player and a guild instead of wasting 36k+ on, lets face it, a dynamic event.

Login issues are starting to become a monthly tradition.

I doubt we’re gonna see performance optimization of any kind until they figure their own game out.

If you wanted to get someone into the game..

I’d tell them the game is very very fun.

Until you get to max level.

And then the fun kind of disappears behind a very thick cloud of extremely crappy rewards, zero incentives and gratuitous amounts of RNG.

Oh and then there’s DR which influences all of that.

Actually DR alone would probably keep most away.

Do “diminished rewards” bring a smile to ANY mmo player’s face?

Do you like the persistent world at lv80?

Zero incentive to do anything in this game is the reason I’ve quit playing for the time being.

Obviously it’s hard to make that argument without sounding like an entitled prick but I think everyone agrees that rares and exotics don’t drop on a consistent enough basis across the player base to even give people HOPE.

So I’ve quit.

If Arenanet wants an example of how bad it is, i’ve gone back to playing WoW. That’s something I said I’d never do after playing the beta for this game.

But you know what?

Despite repetitive gameplay, at least WoW has an endgame of some sort.
At least WoW rewards me with items relative to my toon when i don’t get the thing I want.
At least in WoW when I set a goal for myself I can see about getting it in a reasonable amount of time (reasonable being before I lose interest).

I’m waiting until GW2 finally figures out what kind of game it wants to be because right now it, I’m not even sure the devs know what kind of direction they’re taking it.

Just to clarify why small guild members are complaining.

It’s a matter of time, not entitlement.

There isn’t a member of any guild here who isn’t willing to put forth a bit of work to unlock something.

The investment of time has to be something reasonable though. Small PvE guilds probably won’t ever see bounties because they don’t like PvP. Why should my PvE guild spend all our influence on a PvP track so at the very end of it all, we can have fun in……PvE?

Does that really make sense to you? Not me.

But lets say they really wanted to do bounties. That means no influence can be spent on anything other than that track. Soooo….no banners. No MF boosts. No speed boons. Etc.

Most won’t do that.

The ones that will try, will lose interest and quit long before their patience holds out long enough to build up the influence. And then what?

They move to a large guild.

The game is slowly evolving.

It used to be that you could play the way you want.

Now it’s becoming so that you have to play and spend and grind in a very specific fashion in order to get anything of worth.

Not a big deal. All end-game MMO content is like that.

Of course other MMOs actually reward you with something tangible for your efforts.

You can chalk that up to another reason why small guilds probably won’t invest in guild missions.

If one were to assume the rewards for doing them are as crappy as the rewards for doing anything else in this game.

Cheaper WP costs? Oh boy!

The entire patch is a mess, everything is being rushed and every potential outcome is not being considered carefully. Arenanet should very well know that the community has a whole is very fractured, especially since Lost Shores and the community cannot take many more bombshells.

With the whole launch of Fractals and Ascended items, every player no matter what still had the same chances, the same access to the content as the next person. However, in the next patch – you don’t have access to the same content

What should have been down is the players of any guild should be able to participate and receive the same rewards. The content should have been created so everyone could work together, or solo if they wanted too.

Guild Bounties should have been Art of War 1, and each rank should have unlocked a progressively harder encounter, so the larger guilds could clear this content faster and more efficiently than a small guild could – but the outcome would have been the same – everyones happy – But it wasn’t created in this way, it has been created with a hardcore and super large guild in mind. I personally blame all the players who wanted raids etc for this mess.

I completely agree. These guild missions should’ve been added in with the idea of helping to break up the monotony while smaller or larger guilds build up their influence for other ventures. The rewards don’t even have to be same. They should scale based on the size of the guild or something.

These missions were supposed to give purpose to guilds in-game but it just kittens over the smaller ones.

“Oh great. We’re totally not a PvP guild but we need to do nothing but grind PvP so we can have fun in PvE. Welp, see ya guys later. Gonna go find a larger guild.”

I seriously doubt Arenanet even thinks about these things anymore.

well just to keep things real, small guilds can access this content.

But it will take them a very very very long time…..long enough that they’ll quit or join another guild before they even get close.

So the result is the same i guess. lol

I don’t even know why they decided to make these guild missions researchable i the first place.

Oh wait…..

Because they need players to keep playing that totally not grindy game that they made.

I hate to personally say it, but this might be the time to start a petition to attempt to block this patch.

No… you don’t petition to block new content from dropping. I don’t want big guilds to be excluded from the content too just because small guilds have been… the answer is make our position known, and understood, be willing to discuss it at length until it is… and then act like adults once the “final” decision has been made and deal with it’s consequences on an adult level.

We aren’t 5 year olds… we can certainly deal with an unfavorable turn of events without trying to screw over everyone else for whom it is favorable. At the same time… when decisions have been made, the decision makers need to be given feedback and alerted to dissident opinions… that is the very basis and strength of freedom of speech. “Good” decision makers take this feedback into consideration in the future and incorporate it into more accurate decision making models… even if their decisions continue to press disfavor on a portion of the population affected by them… not all decisions can be favorable to everyone… but everyone should be heard and acknowledged… and their feedback should have weight.

I agree with you completely.

And then i remember back when Anet said they didn’t want to make a grindy game.

Truthfully, they haven’t. It’s all optional.

So people quit playing because they don’t want to grind.

Ironic.

Jeez for the last time everything in this game is as optional as everytng in any game. Yet we do it because what else is there to do. The argument that its all optional is mute. Raiding is optional in wow but we do it because theres nothing else to do. Much like missionswillbe done here.

Literally everything you do in this game is a grind. Guild missions are going to be a grind for smaller guids. Its optional but again so is raiding in wow yet we did all of that…so we are going to do guild missns and grind them out…in a game where this is no grInd

I think you missed my sarcasm there…..

I’ve gotten 2 exotics and a handful of rares.

I got an exotic lvl 80 Berserker’s ring from the tiny chest across the way from the big one on the skipping stones JP in Southsun. It sold for over 8g.

They can give you good stuff, it’s just that it seems like you always get the same green crap because honestly if the rates were any better the sucky classes would be better off farming JPs rather than dungeons.

Pff that’s assuming they up the rates too much. I’m talkin about upping them enough to give people some frikkin hope. lol

Well since the game doesn’t adequately reward you for playing it for any given amount of time…….I say quit while you’re ahead and you still have real money in your wallet, lest you be tempted by the gem store.

Of course you could just play the game your way and over time gather everything you need and you’ll have a legendary in a year, maybe two.

Nothing else will pull you away from the game before then, right?

And yes, as Oreoz said, drops from bosses, such as Jormag, SUCK!!! I don’t even bother with names bosses anymore unless I’m doing it with a guild group or just happen to be in the area at the same time the event pops. And I also agree there is too much RNG and it’s too restrictive.

Problem with loots from Jormag is less the quality of the items or the amount of the loot, but the fact that this kittenty system revolves all around vertical progression. It doesn’t matter whether you get a weapon with a nice skin or not, it’s all just about getting better stats / salvageables to craft one of the few “legendaries” or “rare skins” from the mystic toilet. And first ones you only get from a single dungeon while the second one is a pure combination of RNG + hardcore grinding.

sadly people will argue that that’s all optional which is true…but they also forget the other thing.

“Ok fine guess I’ll quit then since maxing out your toon takes *15 minutes.”

*denotes exaggeration

Imagine if the majority of the player base thought that way?
It’ll probably become a reality once they realize that if they play the game their way instead of grinding fractals and dungeons they’ll get their legendary in like, 2 years. If we’re to base it on the current overly consistent crappy drops.

These guild missions are nice, but I personally don’t believe it gives guilds any more of a reason to exist except as a method through which like minded players can group together.

My initial hope was that they would be missions for GUILDS and not something random pugs can join in on once they’re activated. That IMMEDIATELY tells me that these missions aren’t going to be very taxing on the senses and that the only need for voice chat will come out of arbitrarily telling guildees where to go in the world during a bounty or something.

I’m just gonna say it right now.

10 man raids. Imagine if fractals were to be structured as different rooms in a large dungeon rather than the timesplitters portal jumping we have currently. Obviously for the sake of this example we’ll strip away plot and setting but keep the overall mechanics of each room and place them in this fictional raid and then further modify them in both scale and difficulty so as to accommodate a larger group.

Arenanet has obviously shown they have the ability to create interesting and inventive encounters so why not take that and apply it to something worth being called “end game?”

But oh wait……

Your loot distribution consistently leans toward the “holy god this is terrible” spectrum so even a raid won’t be worth doing.
