For wvw only, i’d like to see anyone who gets Moa’d to get a 1 minute un-strippable buff that prevents them from getting Moa’d again until the buff expires. Anet, you can even call it “No Moa.”

You are probably right. When making a change to any mmo, the first question any dev must ask is, “If I was a total neckbeard troll kitten, how would I exploit this?”

I honestly have nothing against duelers and hope they enjoy duelling, but I really wish there was some way to differentiate duelers from gankers. Whenever I run past SMC and see a couple enemies hanging out, I wonder if they are waiting for more duelers to show up, or if they are going to harass me. I would love it if you could declare yourself a dueler (with a little crossed sword tag on your head or something) upon entering wvw and have the following things occur:

1) Duelers show up as another color on the minimap that is visible to all sides without being marked by sentries (so you guys can find each other)
2) Duelers cannot harm or be harmed by npcs
3) Duelers cannot deploy or use siege, or claim objectives
4) Duelers are invulnerable to non-duelers, and vice versa.
5) Upon removing the dueler tag, the dueler is transported to spawn.

Poor warrs. I miss how much fun warrs were before the stab nerf. As much as I loved playing my warr, I must admit that the support capabilities of rev make them superior frontliners.

Now you pretty much only want one warr to banner the driver. Any more are a waste.

Anyone who mains ranger in wvw and considers themselves “good” at zerging, should try playing a real wvw class (GREN) and see what they have been missing. If you are good on a ranger, you’ll probably be great on an ele or necro.

I wouldn’t call it a bug, but I have seen situations where 2 players are downed simultaneously, and because of knockback or launch type CC, a player dies because he gets moved under the stomp of the other player’s avenger. Guess that proves that a stomp is an aoe attack. I think its latency. You are only susceptible to stomps when you are in down state.

The profession system is working as intended. It’s not that complicated.
Heavies – front line zerg
Lights – back line zerg
Mediums – everything zergs cannot do efficiently, such as kill sentries and yaks, flip camps, gank, havoc, and scout.

I played ranger for a while in wvw, and while being fun to play, and occasionally useful, rangers just don’t bring as much to the table in zerg fights as heavies and lights. Sadly, they are relatively weak in zerg battles. If you MUST play your ranger, go do something useful with it which does not include bringing down the team.

Bottom line, the commander is performing a FREE SERVICE to the server by tagging up. Everyone who runs with the commander and follows his/her commands is going to get a lot more loot than by running solo. Therefore, the commander is within his rights to exclude players who are not contributing to the success of the zerg. Stop complaining just because you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

I don’t really get your “get your people in line” comment. The only thing players can do is report hackers. Dealing with them is up to ArenaNet.

Would you tolerate people in your guild hacking? We wouldn’t. Hence.

How do you know the guild in question isn’t all hackers? The best all we can do to stop hackers is report them whenever we see them. If anything, you are part of the problem for giving the hackers the attention they desire.

How can you just say conditions are too strong? OK, if you mainly roam or run havoc, then yes, conditions are strong because you don’t have constant cleanse/resistance from other players to mitigate the damage. In zerg fights, condition builds are awful. I gave up trying to play condi because with all the resistance getting spammed, I was doing a small fraction of my power build damage (on a reaper).

If you complain about condi in wvw, you must be a roamer. Condi is underpowered in zerg battles. I sometimes run condi on my necro and find that I am much less effective. With all the resistance-spamming from Revs and boonshare mesmers, condi is a poor build.

anet should have a theme week where siege has a 75% reduced cap. It would be interesting to see how everyone would adapt.

Allow us to make superior siege in the MF 10 or more at a time. 1 at a time is just painful when you go through a stack per day.

Molten Furnace: End boss makes you listen to his 2 minute monologue before the equally boring fight begins.

Mai Trin: The final phase where the adds spawn should come first in the fight, not last. Considering the length of this fight, I’d prefer to know sooner rather than later that my pug group can handle it. I did Mai Trin once for the legendary, but won’t do it again unless something changes. Wiping after a 20 minute fight and being forced to repeat it is just too irritating.

Thaumanova: Does the floor have to be transparent? There’s enough shiny effects to look at in this fight. I don’t need to see shiny reactor through the floor too.

I’m actually not bothered by the AR gate. It forces people to play a lot and learn the fractals before they venture into T4. Without it, we will have a lot of leechers joining content above their level looking to get carried.

Guest lord week! Every day a new PVE champ boss like Frozen Maw, Grenth, Lyssa, Balthazar, etc., replaces the SMC lord.

Fight like a man week! Siege cap for all maps is lowered by 90%.

Maybe instead of screaming and crying about how terrible these pairings are, we should actually give it a little time and see for ourselves. I’m sure anet is using all the data at their disposal to determine these pairings, and even so, there is no way to make the calculations balance. WvW has always been, and always will be, unfair. If you want fair, there are 2 other game modes available.

If SoS wasn’t so PPT try hard Mag would have moved up weeks ago to replace FA. That’s what happens when your ocx crew drains a bunch of glicko points. Mag doesn’t have that many PPT guilds, the majority of their players are more interested in fighting and having fun rather than avoiding your players to PvD.

Just look at the scores right now, SoS night crew is going hard in a match they can’t win and Mag is losing 8 glicko points because of it. You are killing yourselves.

Mag doesn’t have ANY PPT guilds. When SoS takes a tower, it’s immediately covered in siege and has a couple scouts watching it. When Mag takes a tower, supply is drained and everyone goes running towards the closest OJs.

The best thing SoS and SBI could do right now is just tank for a week to let Mag move up. With any luck Mag would get replaced with a like-minded siege humper server.

Don’t complain about raids. At some point, all the early raids will be nerfed to the point where a pug group of average ability can beat them. It happens so often in mmo’s that it is only a matter of time.

Before anet nerfs durability runes, I hope they fix the sigil of draining.

In normal play epidemic is pretty meh. The only time epidemic is really OP is when a tower or keep lord gets hit and you are standing right next to him. Then, you are pretty much screwed.

Yeah, the way reapers faceroll t4 fractals make me think they are gonna get a nerf soon. 4 reapers and a druid or ele healer is stupid easy.

Everyone feel free to add to this list. Just a couple fresh in my mind from last night’s disaster.

1) Don’t use knockbacks. Seriously, when everyone is hitting the mobs from melee range, your knockbacks are screwing the whole party when you move them. If you really want to use those knockbacks, save them for the fractal avengers. CC’s should be used to pull mobs together, not spread them apart.
2) Stop attacking from range. Half the bosses have some sort of shadowstep move that they ONLY USE when someone is not stacked on them. When they shadowstep, they effectively evade everyone else’s melee attacks. Use ranged weapons when you must, like when the molten berserker is in a sea of fire aoes, and there is no safe place to stand in melee range.
3) Learn the mechanics. It’s amazing how many times I have been the only one trying to knock down the boss’s shield on the volcanic fractal while everyone else just hammers on the elementals. There’s a written or video guide to every fractal. Watch them until you understand everything.

Great! Pull more players out of wvw and spvp. Exactly what anet wants to do. Brilliant!

Anet let us choose from a narrow list of options THEY are considering. Just because its a “poll” doesn’t mean that players get to choose exactly what they want.

Ever stop and think that maybe anet will get a lot of valuable data if they give us a choice between BL’s. They’ll be able to get empirical data as to which BL’s have the higher populations. If they find that the ABL’s are packed and the DBL is deserted, maybe the next poll will have a “no DBL” option.

It doesn’t work for me. Rev staff 5 is an interrupt and can hit up to 8 times. I haven’t seen any damage or healing in the combat log, and although it looks like I get the extra damage on the first hit, I never get any heals. It doesn’t have a cool down, so I was expecting multiple damage and heal procs.

So I bought one of these Sigils of Draining thinking it would work well on a rev’s staff 5 as it is a knockdown attack. I tested it out on some random mobs, and it does absolutely nothing. No bonus damage and no stolen health. Nothing in the combat log, and no damage or healing showing up on the screen. There is apparently no cooldown for the sigil, but it seems like there must be.

From what I’ve heard, treb bots are done by people with 2 accounts on 2 computers. They’ll play normally with their main account, and have a bot set up on a laptop so they can keep an eye on it. Amazing what inane activities people will engage in to “win” at wvw.

I did say 9 times out of 10.

Everyone has a fractal horror story. I try to improve my odds of having a good group by trying to join diverse groups, when possible. Being a PS Warr, whenever I look for groups in the lfg tool, I try to avoid groups that already have one. I also avoid groups that have 2 or more of a single class. It’s not foolproof, but I think it helps.

WvW has been more fun since the server matching started than for the previous year or so. If you quit after the stability nerf, you missed the worst time in wvw. Gratz on the fantastic timing.

Honestly, T4 is the easiest tier to pug. 9 times out of 10, everyone in the party is a real pro. It’s T2 and T3 where I had the most problems with pugs not knowing how to play.

Over a month of T3 and T4 fractals, and I must conclude that my RNG just sucks. Always someone in my party who gets a golden skin or an ascended mat or a weapon/armor box. Highlight of my last week was an ascended accessory. Yippee!

In my earlier post I meant that regular and ascended rings should be removed from T3 and T4 loot tables, and odds of other loot should be improved. The reason being that most people who are doing fractals at that level already have 50+ rings in the bank and don’t need more.

At some point, probably when hardly anyone does them anymore, the oldest raids will get nerfed to the point where they are completely puggable. Every MMO does it, and I don’t expect gw2 will be any different. It is just such an easy way to open up more content for casual players.

The single stack potions are also salt on the wound, that’s just insulting. Rings shouldn’t even be dropping in T3 or T4 chests to begin with.

Regular rings should only be T1 drops. Infused rings should only be T2 drops. Rings should be pulled from the T3 and T4 loot tables completely.

I think only the single tools drop. I’ve never seen anyone get a full kit.

Just vendor the rings. On average, I break even salvaging them so now I vendor all non-infused rings.

Oh, those. Never even considered buying them because they were so outrageously overpriced.

Is a vial of linseed oil considered a T7 mat? If so, wtf! I have gotten 3 of those so far.

Not everyone knows about the trick of running back to the first bonfire at the phase changes in the elemental source fight. I only heard about it a week ago. If they didn’t know what you were doing, they may have thought you were a complete idiot. Also, issue with pugs is you never know if the other member speak english. Maybe they just kicked you out of frustration. I could write a book about all the stupid, rude, and illogical behavior I’ve observed in pugs.

I’m really confused. You can upgrade them. It costs like 75 fractal relics to upgrade from +5 to +7. Am I just not understanding you?

I just hope someone finds a way to hack a match during a televised spvp tournament and completely embarrasses anet. THEN, they would do something about hacking.

Yeah, your friend’s story is sad, but you need a little more data to consider it a trend. I think the pugs were just jerks. T1 fracs are ezmode so unless your friend was doing really stupid things to wipe the group, that kind of behavior seems extreme.

I just leave groups if we obviously can’t handle the frac. I’ve only ever kicked people for not having enough AR, because in my opinion, doing a frac when you KNOW you don’t have the AR for it is extremely rude.

I imagine the coding would be a nightmare, but it sure would be nice if we got RNG modifiers when we went abnormally long periods of time without getting a rare drop.

I’m looking to join a guild of experienced fractal frequenters who regularly do T3 and T4 fracs. Does such a guild exist?

If you are a roamer, assuming you have a viable build, whatever class you are best on is probably your best choice. Roaming, like dueling, is more dependent upon individual skill than any sort of class advantage.

If you are looking for zerg fights, think GER (guard, ele, rev). Now I see the more serious fight guilds running a front line of mostly guards and revs, with maybe a warr or 2 thrown in for banners. Back line is mostly eles. No need for more than 1 mes for every 20 other players. Medium classes have few roles in a zerg.
