Since Ranger only gets Druid in HoT – which makes them a healer (useless for damage dealing or soloing) I would say ranger. Longbow is easiest, but you could play whatever you want.

I have all classes maxed and the only class I don’t use the elite spec on is Ranger.

I find Druid super good for soloing, you get 33% passive run speed, super mobile if you have a staff or GS, damage boosts from Glyph of Empowerment, GotL long with like frost spirit or a survival skill and 25 might from Rampage as One/Heal as One combo. As long as being able to sustain yourself with your great heals if needed.

Not in PvE no.

Labels are weird things. My play sessions often span from 14 hours to 20 hours, from the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep, but a large amount of that time is putting into leveling alts, talking to guildies, doing random collections, dressing up my characters and so forth, only bit of actual content I do is my daily fractals and a pvp match or 3. Would I be considered a hard-core player or a casual?

Even the people who use it know it’s a ridiculous system that doesn’t actually tell them anything except that this person has been in the game longer than a month or so.

Especially considering most achievement points are gained by playing PvE, and often relatively easy PvE like exploring open-world maps and doing the story, or totally unrelated things like jumping puzzles.

If they could they’d be demanding a gear check, or DPS score or whatever else you can judge people on in other games. But they can’t so they settle for what they can judge you on. It’s the “grown up” equivalent of kids whose school brings in a uniform so they can’t judge each other on their clothes, so they judge you on your bag or where you buy your notebook instead.

And yes, even for easy content. You’ll sometimes see the same thing for story mode dungeons.

If you’re not interested in that type of elitist you’re best off just ignoring any party with an AP requirement.

Been in the game for longer than a month is actually not an unreasonable expectation for scale 32 fractal. That requires 29 AR. It takes about a month for 2 rings, 2 accessories and an amulet from pristine relics, laurels and guild commendations. That gives you 25 AR which is still a bit less than 29.

You can get an amulet from both PvP and HoT story achievements. Theres also the potion from the fractal vendor that gives 10 AR. You can also do the mastery track for the mistlock singularity for another 5 which took me a couple weeks after starting to get. Also there’s a large chance to get an attuned ring since you’ll have enough AR to do the 21-50 dailies and you’ll most likely be able to infuse it right away. A month is plenty of time to get enough AR for scale 32.

Is that visible to other people? I vaguely think yes, but I’m not sure. Though, yeah, it would be a better indicator of fractal performance.

Mastery points are a joke – getting them is a true problem for those who can’t possibly figure out the “menu” which is wrong so much of the time it’s nuts as well as not giving enough info to “start” whatever chain you need to get those mastery points.

Enough of the lack of real instructions already.

Every achievement with a red star next to it awards a Tyria Mastery Point and every achievement with a green star awards a HoT mastery point. I dont see how thats so hard to understand.

Cept Esports is focused on sPvP

Lack of room often turns out to be more of a hoarding problem rather than a lack of slots. 360 spots in the bank + storage toons + 2000 for mats… that’s a ton of room for all sorts of things.

I’d welcome (and buy) more tabs, too. However, I recognize that’s because I keep a lot of stuff for sentimental reasons and because “one day” I might have use for things (even though in 3 years, I’ve never had a need for e.g. a mobile TP pick up NPC). I’ve kept skins that take up a slot, that I’ve never used (and can’t imagine using), because, well, why waste a transmute charge, in case I might change my mind in the next 3 years?

But I digress. The main thing is: all of us tend to keep ‘junk’ around longer than we need to.

This i can agree with. I have 20 bag slots on all my characters and some of them even have max inventory slots. I keep the gizmos, “keys” and some tonics in my character bag such as silverwaste shovels and wintersday bell and torch of kryta.
My single default bank tab is full of boosters and my guild banks (all 3 of them) are filled with mats im hoarding….

Why am i hoarding mats? I gather all mats i encounter and while i did use them in getting a few armor to 500 in order to craft ascended armor…i still seem to gather more than i can consume (and i don’t feel like selling them atm)

This is from a PvE only perspective but …

Reaper is awesome but that is about as far as I would go on describing how great elite specs are. Even for reaper this is primarily for a power build. If I was going for conditions I probably wouldn’t care as much about reaper.

I haven’t found the rest to be especially compelling. That is not to say I think the rest are bad. They are different but not required.

Looks at all the condi reapers doing 20-30k bleed ticks on raid bosses.

I don’t disagree. There are no raid builds that are not specialized. Except for one of my toons that I use for a very specific purpose, all others use the specialization lines.

I have to believe there will be some balance in order to make all lines equal. Whether that happens or not, who knows.

Well, theres normal condi engi at least and D/D Trickery Thief isnt too bad.

Probably should be some more balancing though.

Cant we just change Improved Alacrity to from 50% increased duration to 100% effectiveness on self?

BnS has more twitch viewers and players. Anet killed my favorite game. People are leaving by the masses, you just don’t feel it because of the megaservers.

Every hyped MMO has a large amount of viewers on twitch for like the first month or so, that isnt really a way to tell if its successful or nah.

Nothing, vastly different game that meets a different audience.

Elites as in Elite specilizations?

Ive been doing Auric Basin a lot to level masteries for specialization collection, every completion gave me the rewards I earned. No clue whats happening for you.

Well, you can get all the dungeon armor and weapons through reward tracks, along with Chak, Auric, Ceremonial, Legionnaire, Tribal, Orrian and Etched weapons. Also the Balthazar back piece, the PvP leagues pack piece when it starts up again and the Glorious armor set.

I don’t think that players will spend 1000 gems to get the same item on another character. Yeah, I guess the best decision will be to send via bank. Shared inventory slot 700 gems… it’s not worth it.

Alot of people had bought copper-fed salvage kits and airship/terrace passes for all their characters, not too unbelievable that they’d buy multiple sets of tools

Someone made a suggestion in another thread to turn Gifts of Exploration into a consumable that granted 100% map completion. I think thats a good idea if in return it granted 0 map comp reward chests or exp.

Chrono gets a duration buff to alacrity applied to self so the cooldowns of wells could very well have been balanced with that in mind. At the moment the cooldowns are reasonable though, similar to necromancer wells.

The duration buff is 2 more seconds than eveyone else.

And fyi, necromancer wells aren’t played at all in raids or dungeons, except maybe the aoe blind one, all of which do much more than mesmer wells and are reduced by 20% with a necro trait.

Running around with wells is a significant dps loss. Your survivability goes up though.

What would ya suggest instead? I dont think ive ever not had well of suffering and corruption on my bars

According to this post, crafting spark without buying any of the components is a good 200 gold less then buying it on the TP.

Dont just buy everything cause that will end up being more expensive then buying the precusor
