The login is too complicated, it will be changed to putting square, circle and triangle shapes into holes for all us apes.
Hello. I recently bought Guild Wars 2 with disks, and it started installing correctly. But the problem is that when the installation bar reach 80%, the installation do not go further (0 kbps). Is it normal or I have to fix something? Please help me!
If you create an account (which I’m guessing you’ve done) and login via the website you should be able to download the client that way. It’s about 19gb and with my puny 2mbps download speed takes about 4-5 hours.
Just an alternative until Anet don’t reply.

I think a hearts quest is broken. I have tried dancing for the dolyaks but my heart meter does not increase, all I can do is pick up this stuff, help please?
I’m sorry, kind of double post here.
So now I’m paying attention to the level unlocks on the wiki. I have the urge to delete the game from my computer. No expansion for me like this.
I won’t go into details, but… Fine grade salvage kits only at level 44? Are you people serious? What kind of dumb person allows this? Have you considered not having a bunch of yes-men around you? I recommend pulling a Hemingway. The game is now a long, boring and forceful tutorial up to level 23. I did not pay for this kind of shabby treatment.
You can buy fine grade salvage kits at level 2. The wiki isn’t listing unlocks. It’s listening when you’re told about stuff. That’s all.
In the old system you weren’t told about them at all. But they don’t unlock at that level. They’re not locked at all.
I think people need to stop spreading misinformation.
Most of the things on that list aren’t locked at all.
Well goalie Vayne, ever stop to think why it’s an issue now?
It’s not an issue now, except people continue to not understand something and talk about it as if they do. Simply put, leveling up gives you information you might not have known. Why anyone would assume they’re locked out of it before then is beyond me.
Vayne, your better than this, this guff was available when we created toons in gw2 kitten

But there is a chance that the carrot turns into a golden carrot, a 0.00000001% chance!
I should really flush my bank of all the junk from these moneybait things. I’m stockpiling boosters and all the rest of the junk I get from map completion keys. Seems my key drop rate has went down the pan too for map completion so Anet have no doubt fiddled with the drop rates again. You must pay for the junk you get now! YAY!

Just like my opinion man but…
New prof. am I looking forward to it – no
New areas am I looking forward to them – no
Will I buy the xpac after the LS/SAB/NPE/Trait content we’ve gotten the past 2 years – no, same dev’s so same rubbish content only this time paid for.
All the additions to GW2 since release to me have been tripe so I’m defo not buying more of the same. I was on the fence a bit but it seems like Anet are still incapable of creating difficulty without taking control completely away from our toons.
Shame, I remember when I got Nightfall from PC World just after Christmas a few year ago and bought Factions after a few hours of play. These aren’t rose tinted glasses btw, they are simple cold hard truth tinted.

There will be new skills like taunt where you lose control of your character and it runs towards the creature/player that put taunt on you and to automatically start attacking…. There will be new boons like resistance too.
Are you serious? The taunt thing?
Yes, that is real. People will need to bring stun breaks.
Think I’ll pass then, was playing Jormag tonight and was reminded how little control I have, more of this crap (I’m Necro) I can’t be kitten d with!

This is one that will effect my dwindling interest.
Will the monsters/enemies have new skills that don’t involve ‘Knockdown, fear, fear, stunned, knockdown, fear, fear, stunned, knockdown’?
Tell me L2P all you want but I’ve played tons of games where there was difficulty and I also had control of my character the whole time!
I bought (with gold) the imperial outfit for my main just because she’s been stuck with the same armour since a few month after launch. Didn’t realise it would even take over even the head slot (my Sylvari looks goofy without her Baroque mask). So into the ‘new without tags’ wardrobe it goes. Not a fan GW2 version of onesies and won’t be buying another.
Even GW had at least 2 options for costumes, head and body, can’t Anet at least do that for us?
1. More skills
2. Desirable Elite skills
3. Elona
4. Cantha
5. NPE, Trait, TP and Dailies reversion
General – 60
World Bosses – 40-50
Maw – 20-40
I put anti aliasing on via NVidia inspector
You shouldn’t be allowed to add/change things in a game if you don’t play it. Rolling a character and standing around in LA is not enough.
GW2 has attracted a certain bunch of idiots. I don’t remember ever doing daily dungeons in GW and seeing GWAMM’s ONLY or getting ridiculed for not having R10 Luxon/Kurzick when doing associated activities.
You’re not a bad player, you’re just playing with bad people (aka whiney kids with lots of time on their hands).
Nah, I stockpile them in my bank when they come out of the BLC.
Since the forums are borked I guess I’ll have to make a second post.
The one thing I loved about the Torchlight games was that every drop I got along the way felt and looked different. In GW2 I’ve ran toons with under levelled armour of up to 20 levels because of the pitiful drop rates, the terrible diversity of skins and armour and the fact that there is no oomph factor in any not on the TP.
You mean the fact that 90% of all drops wand wise early on are all the same ugly stick is not appealing OP? You have some kitten high expectations from your games.
Oops sorry, I had my sarcasm volume at full.
They could add washing lines behind some houses where we can pinch stuff. More likely they’ll just remove cloth from the game instead though :P
Crafting
Combo Fields
Original Skill/Trait Descriptions – If I remember they were vague at best like “Gives a wee bit more damage” or “Gives you this much <———> more toughness”. Uh, ok.
I’d prefer a right click option to auto trash them, ascended stuff and the aether keys.
To see character height in relation to an object in the game like a barrel or better yet a human npc. Atm with a blank background you could be the size of a house or as small as a mini for all we know at creation.

Would be nice if they made it somehow that we had to look up. It was months before I realised that William actually had a body, head and wings. It begs the question “How dumb are the GW2 dragons?” they have wings but yet they land and let the little ants bite their toes till they die. Maybe if Anet could incorporate a reason for the dragons landing while we kill their feet like…..not my job.
Or we can leave WvW out of map completion altogether, as has been requested thousands of times.
I think at least they could change where the poi places are. There was one in a building that I couldn’t get for ages. All I’d do for weeks was login, go to WvW see I couldn’t get into the place, silently curse Anet and log out. Sure WvW is kind of a group effort but mapping is not. Plus on maps irl you have symbols for churches etc. not detailed plans of the interiors so why do we have to go inside these buildings to map the area?
This will never change though and Anet will probably interpret the request as a desire for more cumbersome UI elements which will get added at the top left. Big red flashing square if you haven’t mapped the area 100%, big green one if you have :P
i am healthy (i hope?) and i really should be studying/revising but im always drawn to video games, i know that people say im throwing my life away etc but when i first started in gaming it was a way to escape bullying and social pressures, these games (thank you guild wars 1) was a way for me to escape all the bad things happening to me and be someone that i wanted to be, when i was level 20 and bored in guild wars 1, i would often go to minister cho’s estate or shing jea monastery and sometimes a new player to the game would ask for help doing a quest or mission, when i helped them they would thank me and it meant a lot to read those messages
Good man, or woman. God I used to love being helpy helperson in GW once my hero team was brutal. Even miss going full human for zaishens. We don’t have that here
The game occasionally pops up a ‘Change to this server since this ones empty’ message for me. They should have that but allow for roleplay. eg.
‘You have been in this map for 15 minutes would you like to join the roleplay server (if you chat a few times without pinging WP’s). Designated roleplay server rotation lands on Maguuma (or wherever) would you like to go there?
Not a roleplayer myself but have bumped into a few and I surprisingly jumped into character when they chatted to me lol
So much info here, think I’ll need to do a course in this stuff to understand.
I just posted because like I said, I always felt my telly colour scheme was off (I’m not using 4k just a 1920×1080) and kept tinkering with my tv settings. I’d all but given up and stumbled upon this by accident looking for something else. For me it was night and day and workaround it may be but I’ll take it.
I went back to the original colours when I tried to take screenies. No going back for me, it looked like power saving mode on a desktop pc.
Can you show us maybe please some comparison pictures as attachments, which show us the clear difference between pre change and after change of this here???
That would be very nice, so that people can get a better impression on how much of an “improvement” this is and if its worth it to hack the nvidia driver registry for this just to force the driver to enable FULL RNG for better/more colors. (which could end up also in being too bright in the case of whites ^^)
I took screenshots but they look the same in Photoshop. The tool has a button to revert to the original colour scheme if you don’t like it, probably should have mentioned that.
Just thought I’d share because it makes GW2 and BL2 (only games I’ve tried with so far) look so much better not to mention desktop, Internet browsing and software. I always played around with my TV settings because of the washed out chewing gum white look I had which was mostly noticeable on web pages, turns out it was the above that was the issue
When I launch BL2 after applying this the intro videos are still the original colour format and it looks so washed out by comparison until the game loads. This also happens with GW2 for a couple of seconds on load screens, I see the original washed out look then this kicks in
Hope it helps.
Who the hell is taylor smith? Lemme guess, some pop idol karaoke trash or reality tv fame vampire?
Ps. Does the artists formerly known as Prince know about this because…“Tonight we’re gonna party like it’s 1999” he should get on that copyright bandwagon :P

Traits, NPE, New Dailies.
New Dailies are the straw that broke my camels back.
Like many others I used to enjoy dailies on my alt’s (which traits and new breakinsteadofcreate experience killed) as it allowed an nice little level boost each day for my alt’s.
Now dailies might as well not exist for me and I have, god, 8-11 level 80’s (uninstalled because, it’s a chore to play alt’s which is my main reason to play outwith world boss farming so can’t check how many).. It’s too much of a "Though shalt go here and do this very thing, not similar, this EXACT thing, do not deviate from our path or though shall not be rewarded! Oh BTW though shall have invasive top right nag screen until though does what we demand non stop for ever, NAG, NAG, NAG! "
Fun = Over.
Ps. Reducing the amount of harvest zones in areas that dailies require, how underhanded and cheap do you want to be Anet because you are borderline laughable with this.

“[legal]”
Yeah, we believe you :P
I only top out at 2mbps and it only takes a few hours. I’m jealous of your 3 and 7’s. Sky (my isp) claim 20mbps.
Seen a proggy a while back, think it was Seoul that gets 150mbps, that’s insane

I wonder if someone who has this ability can hang glide in present area. I assume that they will be able to.
You’d cross the current maps too quick unless the hang gliders are walking speed (yawn!). I suspect a convenient forget mechanic or they wither when outside the range of the new zones or something.
That said Vistas are bloody base jump points that reeked of things like this, hope I get proved wrong but unless the are walk speed it’ll feel like flying a plane but you can’t leave the airport of invisible walls.

The megaserver means there is continuous traffic in the hotspots although when I went to mapping with my lowbies (gritting my teeth and suffering the recent downdates) players were few and far between. I played both UK and US times over Christmas, late nights aplenty. No doubt this will get argued away that I was in a server that was new because the other was full?
Anet said that they didn’t want to add new zones to the game and further divide the player base on each server without having the megaserver in place.
What does that mean? They want to keep fps low at world bosses or there aren’t enough players to go round?
It seems they were trying to base the trait system off a similar one in Guild Wars.
Maybe they should have played GW first then?
Number. Can’t disable nag screen at top right yet.
Number. Can’t turn off legendary effects
Number. Can’t disable the god knows what key combinations that constantly lead me to shortcutting to the chat box, sometimes mid fight or, by the bear, jump puzzles. Something to do with arrow keys, right shift, ctrl and enter? :S
Possible Number. Have they removed the killer slopes/walking down hills from the table yet?

ILet them try (like I did) playing GW2 on a GTX 8600
Just curious what museum it is? My gtx 970 never goes above 61o C while playing gw2 and i have it overclocked to 1517mhz. Check, gw2 is one of the games where i can use 4k resolution and it won’t affect my fps even in wvw ZvZ which speaks a lot.
This game is cpu bound and that is actually a fact. I hope they bring dx12 in future tho or at least dx11 as it would increase performance a lot compared to old dx9 they currenty have.
It’s the museum of ‘My gtx 580 was dying and decided to try out my old 8600 while I waited on my 780 ti delivery’.
My temp’s may be considered high but I am running at 4x multisampling and….http://ipkonfig.com/guild-wars-2-bringing-antialiasing-to-the-game
I also use this with other games. The other games don’t go above 60’s though, not one. GW2 though. Granted all I do in this game is world bosses so all those particles etc. probably contribute to the temps with AA on.
Hahaha, Anet will take this a metric sign to increase clicking amount in our junk drops but will reduce the amount of junk we get top compensate.
Actually some of what you posted is factually inaccurate.

See, I can do it too. this is where you explain why? Not throw potatoes.

All I do is world boss farm since creating new toons is dead to me now. I literally do nothing else in this game, not even dailies anymore, well done Anet.
I’ll tell you one thing. All these people saying, blah, blah, GW2 is mostly dependant on the CPU are full of it. Let them try (like I did) playing GW2 on a GTX 8600 while sporting an i7 960.
GW2 is an unoptimised mess that heats up my new gfx card (and my old gtx 580) and (new) cpu faster than the most modern games I purchased on the Steam sales. Granted I have it running with anti aliasing via Nvidia Inspector but I do this with other games but GW2 is the only one that takes me into the 70’s (degrees).
This is Anet you’re talking to. Instead of adapt, overcome. You’ll get delete, remove.
Haven’t completed a daily yet since this revamp came out, NCnet you’re on a roll.
What’s next? Option Menu requires third party software to use or SweetFX/Nvidia Inspector gets you banned?
Ps. Wintersday, if I was Santa you’d get a lump of coal this year.
(edited by Paul.4081)
I noticed you took down my post about this and put up your own, interesting…
Ouch lol, thunder gets stolen during Christmas Holidays edition.
Two blues and a green, and a bit of junk so far.
If you could view the inventory of all my toons you would lol at what they contain
Traits matter to some classes as you are leveling. I have felt this pain firsthand with a Mesmer (I want to do JPs with my wife on her mesmer).
I gave this system the benefit of the doubt and tried it out via leveling a Guardian with full traits..
I hated most of the process and vowed to not do it again.
However, as I said, I decided to roll a Mesmer. Playing this toon with no traits was much more painful than a Guardian. It was painful enough that I bought my trait tree.
People who say that we don’t “need” traits at lower levels are correct… technically. However, if you want to level alone, or have to level alone, you are going to feel the pain. For classes like this, while its true that you may not need traits during leveling, without them you are going to have a much more difficult and less enjoyable time.
Even with a buddy, the experience was painful. Most of the trait unlocks were above our level, and it made our play time very disjointed.
It must be pain when someone took your toys away but I can not imagine possessing all traits by level, let’s say 30 0_o it would be game destroying IMO. Sorry but honestly I do not get what all fuss is about but I have feeling that you all want “easy” time. Now everything must be “casual friendly”, “easy”, “buy it now”, “have all now” to me it’s fun when there is challenge, and you have to think how to get something/there/ et cetera.
I wish old times come back, where every game was hardedit:
there is solution, make suggestion to create item in store “one click to 80”People are asking for the game to go back to how it was at launch and how it was until the patch last April that ruined it. Its obvious you have no idea w t f you are talking about so please do not comment with out doing some research.
If they can’t or won’t go back to how it was then arenanet needs to put some effort into the new trait system as there is plenty that needs work. This thread has tons of ideas on what they could do to make it a better experience.
Ascended, Traits, rework of the TP that requires more work to list and poorly laid out, new UI, intrusive UI, pop up UI elements in the middle of your screen, NPE, New dailies.
The current Anet are incapable of developing anything resembling a better experience.
No doubt Corey Feldman will present the award to the winner. Post it on You Tube.
I re-installed for a short while. I’ve played over 4 toons, 3 80’s one NPE (horrible, all she does it twang, twang, twang, twang, twang, twang, twang, looks at map chat for some relief, nope so, twang, twang, twang, twang, twang, twang, twang) just farting about, levelling, doing random world bosses and haven’t achieved one daily. What’s that about? I have to literally do what ANet tell me to get a daily now, no dice ANet.
Lot of dailies in starting zones too, that because of an influx of newbies or a departure of others thanks to NPE failure, you decide. Remember though, it’s all about metrics.
Also noticed you managed to make the invasive top right pointless shopping list even more desperate by adding underlines to attract our eyes more. Cheap moves allover.
Steam, take my money this Christmas!
How much does it cost to send a lump of coal internationally? Nvm, Anet will probably find a way to charge me if I did.
