I want to know how much the #1 attack hits for. That is the deciding factor of whether this is a good kit or not. If the #1 attack hits like a wet noodle, then this kit will be next to useless for a power build.
According to napkin math, mortar #1 hits about 47% harder than rifle 1. The rest of the mortar skills do less damage but have more utility.
That is insane damage on a .5 sec cast time O.o
Does this mean it still won’t scale or crit?

Counterplay it by not getting hit, kinda like how we have been telling people to counterplay stealth by swinging wildly and not getting hit by backstab.

Because med kit has been as niched as mortar since launch. So ill get hyped for it when I personally try it :P
We heard everyones complaints about engineer showing up too much in the daily. So we made some changes to allow two alternate classes to also show up into the daily profession winner. For instance, now you can complete the daily by playing a ranger or thief, as well as the standard engineer. Rather than the previous system, which only granted one choice beside engineer.
It may be too late for humor. I bug reported this with a screenshot. And proceeded to turret to victory.

If by power creep you mean traits will finally get organized and synergize with each other unlike how they first were introduced, then yes there is power creep. There is nothing wrong with this though if they can get it to the point where the player has a tough chance picking out of the three options because theyre all so good, as opposed to having a tough time picking because theyre all underpowered and useless.
Just look at the reaping traitline for necro; syngergy and powerful traits everywhere. Its how all traitlines should be like.
It kind of looks like they are created from the shadow of the victim…so a shadow fiend would be pretty cool

After turret nerf, these guys don’t even know what they want nerfed for engie now. Theyre throwing any and every skill out there for a nerf, but can’t decide whats so op about engies; they just want to roll over them.

warriors already have almost all weapon choices and have one of the highest DMG, what more love do you want to give them?
Minions, its the only thing they are missing. Once they get it, They’ll be able to have a single mercenary (henchmen) out at a time.
After that, they’ll basically have everything
Other than magic, another explanation could be that in their world, gravity is lower. Which would also explain other things like being able to jump off many high cliffs unharmed.
Engineer has had that problem for the longest with performance enhancement.

No, engineer was designed to be weak against Conditions, and solid against CC.
No. it was designed to be weak against both. it doesn’t have few stunbreakers and awful stab (only on thumper 1sec and B toss. the elites with stab are a joke) by accident. engineer is weak vs cc and conditions.
The engineers defense against cc is in their traits, not just by pure stability like other classes. Protection injection, cloaking device, stabilized armor, leg mods etc.
You should still have added an “other” option.
I flinched a bit the first time I heard dragon hunter as the name. Right away it just felt wrong but I couldn’t put my finger on exactly why. It really doesn’t describe anything about what the class does, its just a horrible name compared to the rest. I really hope anet does hear our feedback and switch the name.
After noticing in the trailer the fact that he goes after a dinosaur, not dragon, the guardian should in fact be named the Dino Hunter.
Dragons are generic and overdone for mmos. Dinos is where its at now.
I hope we get something similar to signets, but that do stuff instead of passive buffs.
Like a gizmo (that’s what I’m calling engineer signets now) that gives a drone when equipped.
Though that idea is still farfetched, we’ll probably get the drones as the profession mechanic.
In the very least, I hope to see something represented in game that defines the Dragonhunter in lore. It’d be easier to accept. Seeing as the Dragonhunter is about ranged support, I could see Logan being pansy enough for it.

Funny, history of turrets make a full circle, at start of the game almost no one used them cause of the humongus hit box, then they made them usable by fixing this and now again almost no one will ever use them due to a fact that they now die extremly fast, as if they didnt die fast enough before.

They spend years on trying to get people to play turrets, and now that they did they’re like…nope go back to alchemy or something,
Turrets as they are now feel inferior to other minions. They cannot move or benefit from boons, yet they now share the weakness of other minions just “to bring them inline with the rest of the game”.
It was pretty obvious that instead of balancing, the intend was just to completely take them out of play again.
If it does it should only open up to a few conditions like burning and work from there to not completely kill turrets while keeping some logic in this game. I will be terrified the day my turrets start bleeding and feel fear, what are we necromancers?
I feel it must be a revamp. It would be ridiculous to call a skill a kit if its not a kit.
Taunt shouldve probably just been left as a creature only skill, or at the least handled differently. Being forced to change targets and getting target locked is reasonable, but losing control of the character is completely unecessary. don’t think we need more ways to lose character control when fear still exists.
When I first read the word taunt on the blog I went “wait wat?? are we now going back to trinity?”

figured I would come back and just as I expected… negative replies. Zerkers are all anyone does. when I ask in map chat for advice on a class I get the same thing…“Zerker” for end game…. I never once said enforce the role system.. to those whom felt that is what this post was about. I enjoy Guild Wars 2 for it’s build system.
I understand some of it can be confusing, what I mean by non zerg teams struggle is.. mobs hit for thousands per hit. a healer can only heal maybe 2k every 16 seconds. (going by what my water ele can do) then the rest is Regeneration which does not heal to much. I will admit, I have no issues when I get a team with a warrior or guardian whom builds some toughness.
I cannot stress it enough, this post was not to enforce the trinity, but to allow others whom wish to play non zerker roles. the chance to enjoy content also. Not everyone should be forced to be pure damage builds in order to burn down mobs before they can kill you. Also not saying make it fast, but make healing builds matter and do enough healing to last a longer battle.
Instead of trying to have a constructive discussion, you pretty much left a whine post i dont see how you couldnt have expected negativity here.
But with that said, their bosses have been improving, their newer living story bosses don’t just stand around and take the hits while once in a while doing a big slow attack every ten seconds. As long as they can bring more bosses like that to HoT I hope we end up seeing less dependence on zerker gear and opens it up for other stats.

Today I was thinking about how revenant charaters would meet Braham and the rest of the charaters. It would seem pretty ridiculous to have Rox and Jora and the rest calling someone who they barely met “boss” and most importantly it would create a gap about who finished off Scarlet and what not. Its like “Oh yeah hey we used to have another member but we forgot who he is. You are boss now”. What seems more appropriate would be having boss become the revenant, and thats where all revenants would start off as, already being heroes of L.A, killer of zhaitan etc wit Rytlock just coming in and showing that person the revenant ways.
Agree? Disagree? I cant think of any other way a revenant would start without making it complicated, but I would like to hear other peoples thoughts on this.

Im thinking the flying turrets could actually be a mechanic that replaces toolbelt whenever you choose that specialization. It could probably be f1-f4 where with 4 specialized turrets that do different things.
If not, flying turrets will be glorious still!

If one of our secondary professions lets us wield hammers, its probably melee focused. I hope the other profession is just as interesting…wonder what the other one can bring to us, bows seems likely
