What, so if there are not screens you just decide it never happens? The users would just lose some of their time posting this for no reason? How funny.

Im surprised this happens often – more than it should at least – but i honestly (and almost posted to ask that once) always wondered if something like this was possible. It is silly. I’m glad that if the Dungeon opener leaves the group the Dungeon finishes that very moment or probably we would have a few guys abusing this to kick the leader in the end and maybe sell his spot to someone or just invite a friend over.

Alright..i got a few questions regarding this. I read two of the sticky threads before but as i recall they didn’t help with the questions i got. Some of them are pretty simple if i had more experience probably i would know them, but i only did WvW 1week after the 2nd Season event started, and now ocasionally i do EotM to finish a couple of meta-achievs that are taking longer, or attempting to do those ‘regular’ EotM achievs that only have one tier. So what i would like to know:

1 – Do colors/sides/maps change on WvW often? I need them to finish my map completion in 2characters, and we are so overwhelmed that unless that happens doesn’t look like i’ll ever reach the 100%.

2 – I believe that you need 1200+ levels in WvW or something to max out every skill, and like half of that if you don’t master any siege weapon. How should i focus on my skills? At first i intented to work on my Supply, but the amount of levels required for that skill is just too much. What should i level at first and leave for later?

3 – Just to make sure, but despite the JPs looking the same at the 3borders you get an achievement for each of them, right?

4 – Every siege other than ACs, Ballistas and Cannons take down gates?

5 – Does every siege that takes down gates, other than Ram, take down walls as well?

6 – Does every siege needs to be refreshed, even Cannons? How long do they last if no one interacts with them, 60min ?

7 – Are there any other type of players other than Roamers and Zerg members?

8 – How many players are needed banded together to be called ’’Zerg’’ ? And are Roamers players that necessarily act solo getting camps and such, or we can call Roamers to a small group of players in the same party too?

9 – Will a WvW booster also give more experience to my character’s ‘normal’ level, or only for the WvW one (which gives points for WvW skills) ?

10 – I read here somewhere, someone who said that they always take SMC from the wall, not the gates like every other place. Why is that? I only took the Castle 4 times or so, and i believe that the last one we went in from the gates.

11 – Our enemy servers changed the other day, was it because of the current WvW event (guessing this is the reason) or something else? And how often do we get new guys as enemies?

12 – After this WvW season is over, the server ranks will be adjusted i assume. Does that means that that will decide the new servers we will have to face during the following months?

13 – How many times per year we get WvW seasons, or it isn’t a ‘scheduled’ event?

14 – I heard that unlike the typical WvW maps EotM isn’t server based. How does it works, how do they decide which server belong to each color?

15 – Colors/sides in EotM change as well? How often?

16 – What is the typical strategy approach in WvW? After having tried for a while, i got my own idea of what should be done and what my server tends to do, but i would like to know if it is like that for every other server as well. Why to go for a camp or tower first, why that tower and not that other, why to move to an enemy border or the EB right now; that kind of thing.

17 – Does your server has more than 1commander tag at same time? Do you guys ever have lack of commanders? On mine usually we only can find one on our border, and often we can’t even find one there ;(

18 – Do you think that different servers will ever merge, in order to fight against the low population in some of them, or are these Home Worlds with a low amount of WvW players destined to fail?

19 – I know that the sieges face the direction of the user, but can all of them – even rams and cannons- rotate 360º, in case it ends up being necessary for some reason?

20 – The borderlands have 6wp associated to them, despite each player only being able to use 1, since the other 2 belong to the other servers. Why they are 6 and not 3 then, does that mean that every other server can build at least 1wp at some place?

21 – What are the requirements in order to have one extra wp? And can it be destroyed or just disappears when the place where it is belongs to other server?

22 – I believe i got 1shoted the time i approached a Legendary Defender of other team, but it was on EotM. Does that means that it is impossible to get to the other servers spawn, and kill players? What if you are a thief?

23 – I see people complaining about hacking, but is it that common, can really any guy easily use these hacks? Is there a list describing those hacks so that i know what i should be expecting?

24 – Are there any other big issues, across all WvW servers, besides the hacking issues and the ‘unreachable’ titles/full achievements?

All insight on these or other important stuff you think i should know is appreciated. If you just know/want to answer to a couple of questions or you think that there’s a link that answers very well to any of my questions, please go for it

Just pay attention to your character’s actual level, since probably unless it is 80 ascended won’t be able to drop – i suppose.

How interesting, troublesome and yet well done.

So if I do a Dungeon, i should avoid doing another path of the same Dungeon, since DR would be applied? Or if i do a Dungeon and finish within 30 min, i should avoid doing any other Dungeon because of the said DR? What can i do inbetween the said Dungeons, to avoid the DR to show up?

As for Dynamic Events it is said that it is based on map and a certain number of events, that should last around 3h, yet OP said he did 2-3runs and hit the wall, and that wouldn’t be even close to 3h. Also, if I do 1 event on other map and come back to train, would the DR issue be solved? I assume that AFKing for a couple hours or relog wouldn’t do anything – and im curious how to solve this without changing character.

The only thing that i can think of to resolve your problem is to check all the maps on wiki and check the zones one by one. That’s what i did and it worked for me.

I know, but i don’t see any inconvenience with that, is it somehow bad? I mean, lets imagine that i get 4 Uncommon bags instead 4 Leather bags, it would be exactly the same right?

I also thought before about the advantages i could get, organization wise, if i had for example 1 leather bag, 1 oiled bag, 1 invisble bag, and so on, but i didn’t come to any conclusion.

Oh wow, you mean in EU people actually fight each other in EotM maps? In NA, if you run into a group of enemies in EotM , someone will get a PM asking “What, are we going clockwise today? We keep running into you guys somehow.”

What annoys me in EotM (EU) is when there are no commanders to lead us (red team here), we just seem like ants aimless walking around without doing anything.

Whata..i was told that it was attack power, and i believed it despite finding it odd because of the popular ‘dps’ designation which is usually what people say to talk about damage. Achievement points doesn’t make any sense -.- I’ve seen people with half my ap that know more about Dungeons than i do, but i also met guys with – back in the time – more than twice my ap that didn’t know what to do. Sigh, some PuG players are always so weird, but i get it. I feel so noob right now lol.

Why are you such in a hurry because of a backpack? At first i even thought it would be because of something that was on sale on gemstore, because as it seems that you need gold right now.

I subscribe what was said above, and the obvious ‘’sell everything you have’‘, from mats to runes or gear. You can also try the WvW Zerg at EOTM, as you get plenty of exotic bags and loot from champions in there, but i don’t know if it is better or worse than FGS train. There’s also the Temple runs at Orr, while you gather expensive mats such as omnomberries, ori and ancient wood near your location.

Alright guys so i actually typed my answer yesterday but i wanted to edit if first and then i logged in gw2 so..short story im only answering now.

I’ll avoid quoting everyone because i don’t really know how to quote multiple people, other than copy pasting ^.^

I was thinking about using my relics for 20bags and going with 18bags for the rest, while i would restart doing Fractals daily, and then i could sell the 18bags to get my investement back. BUT i didn’t know the backpiece could be upgraded to ascended. So now i’m thinking that perhaps i should just go full 18bags, get the backpiece, and only after save relics for the 20bags and sell the 18slot ones. If i get ~59 per day it will stay take a while. Also i decided to get a higher PR (lv11 currently) up to 20 for now, and ill need some AR, so that i can start doing lv11 Fractals as daily in order to try to get some Ascended stuff from the Bonus Reward.

This is what i had in mind, but then i read someone’s thread where he wanted more character slots for storage purposes, and i reminded myself about another possibilitie – expanding my character slots; which Mystic soon after mentioned as well (good job with the math by the way!) and was talked about on the link he posted too, i feel silly for not remembering about it before :x Since there’s currently a 20% off on character slots till 16th maybe i’ll try to get it. There’s more to that than this, ideally i would like to have 1character of each profession, so probably i would end up with 8character slots anyway, so it would be smart if i grabbed the chances when they are around, as i’m not sure if they do those discounts often; also i’m afraid that the gems/gold rate keep raising and even if they do a promotion like that again (or maybe better) it ends up being more expensive than now ;( I still need alot of gold so ill first try to save enough and only after think about it.

As for the Guild Bank im glad to hear that Anet supported players in the past to use it in such a way, im more at ease now. I was thinking about upgrading it again, but i believe that alone would be 30g or something, but right now i got other priorities, and like was suggested a second guild could also do the trick – and in a cheaper way.

For the 5th question, you mean damage from a single blow / skill or power(because 6k power is way too high)?

Regarding this, i didn’t mean power because 6k would really be too high, but i didn’t mean single blow/skill either because that number may be higher or lower depending on the target’s toughness. I meant the attack power (which is based on the power plus the base damage of your weapon i believe?). I was just curious because i often see PuGs asking for 4k+ ZERK ONLY or something, and 5k+ as well, so i was wondering what was the max you could get.

Let me ask one more.

15 – About selling (on my case buying) Dungeons. I’ve a good idea about the ’’aproach’’ of how it works after reading it on some other thread, but generally do you get to kill the last boss as well (for the loot) or you merely get the Bonus Chest for completing the Dungeon?

16 – Also is there any big difference on damage between full Zerk and a mix between Zerk and Assassin’s or Rampager’s ?

Indeed. You make it sound useless but it is not, well how much useless it is may depend on how you use your second character. Personally i do not have ascended, so if i ever get it it will be after the patch; and if i had the chance i would get a Zerk set for all my characters (and that’s more than two). I guess that if i had something like a perma bank acess directly from my inventory maybe i wouldn’t do it.

I talked with a buddy that told me that if i only wanted to do the Story, he could give me a hand in gw1, so maybe ill end up doing that and then i read the wiki. But i guess that for now ill just think about it for a while to decide. Thanks

I got introduced to wvw recently but im happy to see that, after all, im not the only one finding the numbers on those achievs ridiculously high.

I missed alot of stuff, i bought the game 1y after the release and didn’t play any of the LS content (pretty much) during my first 6months. I have 3 gw1 games but I didn’t went too far in any of them. Is there anything i can read (in a organized and coerent way, following the order of the events) with all the story that took place since GW1 until now? I love to see you guys comming with theories and getting all excited about what may come next, but i feel envious that i can’t share that feeling with everyone

Since we talking about it – and i don’t know if the servers are still up – but you think it would be worth to play the GW1 games, this time more ‘seriously’, so that i know better what is going on?

So i semi-read 2 of the sticky threads here – because i did read them once before – but i got some questions that i feel i shoulda know the answer. I’m not a regular Dungeon runner, in fact i still didn’t try all of them and the few i do tend to be in story mode (or lv1 if FotM), but i still would like to know a few things.

1 – I understand that Agony is something that like allows you to take more damage from the mobs? How much Agony resistance would i need to nullify that extra damage for fractals up to lv19 and 29, about 20 resist?

2 – What are the chances to get a ‘bonus’ from lv11+ fractal rewards? Woud it worth for me to do lv11 as a daily instead 1, given that i only have 1ascended piece of gear (ring) yet?

3 – What is the TA Aetherpath? What is different about it? Should be a pretty big deal to have so many achievements dedicated to it.

4 – I believe that the path you do (1,2,3) is decided inside the Dungeon by answering a question, right? But what about those UP and FW (forward) that you see sometimes on lfg, how are they different and does every Dungeon got those 2 options as well?

5 – Out of curiosity, what is the – roughly – max attack power possible in this game, 6k? and how much power is needed to 1shot burrows in AC with Ice Bow’s skill #4?

6 – Does ‘Rush’ in lfg tool means that they skip every mob other than Bosses that drop a chest reward?

7 – Is there any profession that is particularly bad in any Dungeon path?

8 – Any profession that is particularly good in any Dungeon path?

9 – Which potion is more worth to use, in those Dungeons where you find more than one kind of mobs (according to wiki, any other than AC,CM and TA) ?

10 – This may change depending on your build, but are there any particularly good foods for Dungeons? Let’s say one considerably good for extra gold/mf, or just any that for it’s price is a good deal

11 – The table for the Bonus Chest from wiki is pretty useful, but how much more gold and tokens you get from each path, assuming you loot those guys that drop a small reward chest?

12 – I can do any Dungeons i would like to, daily, but if i repeat any path of the same Dungeon, even if with a different character, the reward will decrease, right?

13 – Are all the Mini-Dungeons soloable?

14 – Yesterday i read about some types of Dungeon gear having a chance to be salvaged in a certain item (inscription or something?) but i forgot the name. Anyone could tell me so i do some research on wiki? As it seemed kinda important

Exotic < Ascended, and in Orr you can’t find many stat combos (I think only 1 or 2, actually). Fractal Capacitor is the cheapest BiS backpiece available.

I believe i’ve seen 2 stat combos there so far, but i didn’t check all the vendors and some of them only pop up after some events, so i guess there should be some more. The backpiece isn’t much of a concern for me tho. And you mean that the Capacitors are Ascended? They got a orange name, so can they be upgraded somehow? What does BiS stands for?

Azrael.4960 You just described a beautiful online gamming community, that saddly does not exist, as a whole at least. Like someone said, there’s bad and good people everywhere and alike there will be servers that overall are quite friendly (your case possibly) but others not so much (well, i won’t complain about mine, but it isn’t as interesting as the one you described). With this said and based on the other MMOs i played, i don’t find the gw2 community particularly great, but that’s merely my experience and i’m not saying it is bad either, just that it isn’t ‘’off the charts’’. Also i tend to find the Forum Community more friendly and helpful than the players around the maps, but that seems to be a tendency in every online game.

Wouldn’t make sense that with the new wardrobe system, where you can see and collect every skin in game, they would remove gear with a unique look (im just assuming that’s the case..right? i believe that’s why you were asking) unless if they happened to add them in game again sometime later.

No, guild banks are server specific. Only those on the same server can access the guild’s bank. Guild members on a different server have their own separate bank.

So that means that if A and B are on server X and C and D on server Y, they all can deposit/withdraw stuff from Guild Bank, but there will be like 2 separate Stashes, 1 for server X and another for Y? So the things that are deposited by A+B can be withdraw by themselves, but C+D cannot because they are on a different server? or it just is like this: people from the Guild’s server can use the Guild Bank, while the others cannot?

I may be wrong but from what i see on Wiki you place the Item and the Infusion on the Mystic Forge’s slots, and the Item gets upgraded, and for such crafting skills wouldn’t be needed, so you would be fine.

I believe that if people read the patch notes they get to know that stuff, but i second that. There’s no reason to not have a few Quests around as a tutorial, to introdunce players to things like LFG and Guilds.

I never get how people complain about being hard to level, when you are possibly playing the online game with the most easily achievable level cap. Also if you just played 5h you shouldn’t even complain about that, just look around exploring the game and eventually you will get to 80.

Its maybe simply that we don’t have the leveling progression curve here like in other MMOs, where the low levels go really quick, but the higher the level the longer it takes.
So in other games you are maybe already 10 after 1 hour, while here it takes you 10 hours.

I guess that’s it, people just find it awkward to level slowly at first because they don’t know that on higher levels the time you take to level will still be (roughly) the same, so they think something is amiss since the curve in gw2 is diff from all the other mmo’s.

With this said i noticed that there’s quite a few threads like this one, maybe someone should work on a guide to place as sticky in here to help the newbies out.

Is there any good ways to use it? I know at some point you need it for Legendary Weapons, to get clovers or something like that, but i mean something that you can do on a ‘daily’ basis and that ends up on a good way of using items that otherwise would be useless. I say this because i was told you could get nice runes by combining 4diff minor runes in there, and i had no idea. Usually i sell those for 16copper each, so 64c which isn’t much, so if i could actually get a good rune it could be a good option. I read somewhere too that you could combine masterwork pieces to get rare ones, but it didn’t work the times i tried, and since i can use luck for my MF i think im better off by just salvaging it.

Are there some other ways to use the Mystic Forge? And from your experience which ones are more worth to give it a try?

I didn’t do enough fractals to know a clear answer, but i would say that Guardian is surely a safe option, and so is Warrior, as pretty much for any other PvE content. I don’t see Necro, Ranger or Engineer being specially useful for them, so those shouldn’t be the answer. As for Mesmer and Elementalist they surely can be useful in many situations, but probably overall Guardian would be the best.

Also i’ve never tried a lv10+ fractal, so idk how much the Agony factor could change the Profession usefulness.

I’ve used a low lvl char (16-30) in WvW, and the ‘champ boxes’ there were always blue tier, while my level 80 always get exotic bags. So yeah, there can be some differences. Also (in my case) I’ve done Queensdale before with a lv60ish char, and i stacked the boxes and only opened them when i hit lv80, so that the gear that i would get could be of higher level.

I was thinking that maybe i should get them from fractals, because i don’t remember anything else that caught my attention when i checked the possible rewards, and if you guys say it as well..probably i could do that. Is there anything else that i could get with relics that is ’’important’’ and i should save up to get it? I know that it is hard to get obsidian shards, tho 15relics for 1 doesn’t seem fair; also there’s the Gift of Ascension, if i end up needing it won’t be anytime soon that’s for sure, but are there more ways to get it? Also, how many relics do you get if you do 1fractal per day, 25? I have 500 but never paid attention to it.

As for the second Guild Stash, i had no idea you could do that..i mean, it just didn’t cross my mind. Seems a pretty good option indeed, i’ll think about it. I just saw on other post that Anet doesn’t ‘tolerate’ ‘Bank Guilds’ so i’m afraid that the mega-server add could impact it somehow, let’s say, by deleting the 1man guilds or something..

I also didn’t know i could resell the bags, i just assumed they were acc bound. All this makes it easier to decide what to do. Also, now that it was mentioned, is there any real need to have ‘specific’ bags? I mean, i seem to always carry around all the usable weaps i can in every char, so maybe a ‘gear’ bag could be used, but again, a regular leather bag can do the job just the same way… does everyone gets 1kind of each bag or it doesn’t do much difference?

The meta achievement is really pretty easy to get done in EotM. Between some WvW on my server and a lot of EotM I was able to get mine done in the first week. Nine weeks is definitely plenty of time to get it done in.

I do feel bad for the servers that don’t end up with enough tickets to get a mistforged weapon in one tournament, it doesn’t really seem fair to punish people for being on a low pop server. That being said, I guess that is why Anet gave the option to move with the free server transfers before the tournament started. People who didn’t take advantage of that (while I’m sure they had their reasons) only have themselves to blame.

lol, I agree with you. Personally, i don’t like to change guilds, servers and all that, but i only didn’t change server because a) I couldn’t transfer to the one i wanted, which mainly would be for PvE purposes, else i would have done it, probably b) I never had done WvW at the time, so i knew my server was bad but i just didn’t know why exactly that was or what that meant. Well honestly if i could go back im still not sure if i would transfer, but i would enjoy to be a in server that isn’t the worse of the 3, but still can’t be the best one unless working very hard and with a good strategy.

Also i support what you said about the meta-achievement. I realised during my first week (or rather couple of days) how easy it would be to get the 10 achievements. Only 2 or 3 (of all of them) seemed a bit harder to me at the time, but that was because i barely did EotM. So any newbie should be able to easily get the 25points achieve.

Won’t we be able to redeem the tickets only when the events ends? and still a few weeks till then i suppose? So probably it will only be added later i would guess. I did notice some npc that gives information related with the even, on WvW maps, but he doesn’t have a option to redeem items or anything like that.

It just sucks if you have multiple abyss/celestial/midnights/other rare dyes, because now all that money you spent after the first just made you the proud owner of the most expensive common dyes in the game!

Indeed it is a sad situation. Fortunately i never was ‘dye addicted’ and saved all the dyes to open until now, but i know that quite a few people spent a good amount of gold trying to unlock certain colors on one (or more) of their characters ;x

A Bank Guild is a guild with very few members who’s sole purpose is to act as an extension of your personal storage.

Wait, is it bad..? I was adviced to do so since it was a easy way to get some free room. Could those Guilds or Banks get suddenly deleted or something? I don’t think something so radical would happen, but the guy on that comment really makes you think that Anet hates that :x

The rewards can be changed and the xp adjusted. I doubt that they won’t come up with such a Kit sometime later on.

If i have a ‘x’ color on one of my characters, will that color be transfered over to all the other characters after the patch? putting it simply, the now revealed and character-bound colors will be account bound as well after the patch, or that only applies for the colors you use after 15th April?

I thought it was the first case, but then i re-read something on the ‘patch notes’ that made me think that i was just assuming too much since they said that if you happened to have the same color on 2characters you would get a unindified dye.

If you can’t finish the JP without a portal you don’t deserve the achievement. Plain and simple.

I wouldn’t go that far, specially because there are more characters that have ways to ‘cheat’ their way thru JPs, but i must agree that for Jumping purposes Mesmer’s Portal is OP.

Alright, i’m kittened. Just did a long-kitten post that my browser decided to erase., tyvm Chrome-san. So i will keep it short this time.

- I often have room issues, despite the 5 characters and Guild Bank’s Stash+Treasure Trove.
- I will upgrade 4 of my characters inventory, which means 16 bags.
- I have lv400 leatherwork = crafts up to 20slots leatherwork bags. Will get all the other skills to 400 once i have time ($$).
- Ignoring the other mat which is cheap and i can craft, because of the Holding Runes value: 18slots bags = 2g, 20slots bags = 10g.
- Balance, 20slot bags would coste more 32g for 8extra slots (per character) = 128g for 32slots.
- Im afraid to invest on 18bags to end up later on getting 20bags, and all the 18bags going to waste, so not sure what to do.
- I want to know different options to get the said bags. TP isn’t one, since people noobishly decide to sell Holding Runes at a higher price than the NPC himself.
- I eemember that you can get 20bags from Fractals exchanging rewards but not sure if it is worth it. Would like to know if there are more similar options (Karma, Dungeon badges, Badges of Honor).
- I didn’t check the other craftable prices for different kind of bags, but i’m assuming they are close and probably slightly more expensive.
- When you were (or if you would) be in a similar situation what would you do?

I doubt they’ll ever add the option considering how much your early personal story is tied into your character’s race.

That is easy to solve, you just have to delete your whole personnal story and restart it in case you are interested to do so.

But if not, what would be the point of fighting at all? Winning but still getting the same rewards as the losing teams wouldn’t really make people interested in playing now, would it?

That is how real-life work. If your team is good, you get better rewards.

Don’t get me wrong, if i saw everyone on my server attempting to do their best, splitting tears,sweat and blood on the battle floor for the mere slim possibility of winning and in the end we just happened to still get crushed, i would be happy enough. But we literally have no chance, not enough people show up (despite the assumed high/very high population) and we aren’t nearly organized enough. Out of the 4servers we crossed swords against we were always considerably inferior, can’t even imagine how much more unbalanced it would be if we weren’t in the Bronze League. You can’t help but feel depressed when you think about it.

EU server members can’t guest in NA servers and vice-versa.
Indeed, i always to completion solo but in a group it should speed up considerably the process.

As said, currently such kit isn’t avaliable, but my guess is that it will be sometime in the future. Usually people pick their race for the looks (or at least that ends up being the most notable difference between races) and a small f.Norn should be pretty similar to a tall f.Human i guess, but if that really bothers you just start over. Like you said you don’t lose much, and since now you have some more experience it will be even faster leveling her.

Did you try to ask on your wvw map chat? Specially with the meta achievement going on, it is certain to be plenty of people willing to do the jp with you, so it would be natural if a couple would be Mesmers. Personally i was lucky because there were no enemies around and i did party up with a Me which increased the speed of the thing. I did fall a couple times.
