We were founded on the principal of having fun and enjoying WvW while also maintaining a Server first attitude. While we are proud to be members of AoS the most important thing to us is our server itself. We have been a very vital part of helping Jade Quarry continue to improve as we field many active commanders and have tons of members who actively support our Server’s efforts to reclaim the number 1 ranking in NA tier. We will do what our server needs whether it be man up and try and take on the toughest foe they can throw at us or throw down an army of golems to start breaking some upgrades we are willing ready and able to do so if asked to do so. We have active commanders on at all hours of the day. Guess I just miss my SBI…
For the record there will always be 2 vs 1. SBI just left SoS alone all weak and SoS ignored them until mid week then takes everything from them. So that left SoS and SBI vs JQ for the majority of the week. I’m just glad to see BG doesn’t lay down for SoS like SBI did. Staging attacks within a minute of each other on opposite sides of the map.
I accept this as legitimate war tactics and know it’s all part of WvW but it’s nice to have a new server that actually wants to win back in the mix.
SBI is just not a real T1 threat anymore, IMO.
Grats on your score to all the servers! It’s still pretty close right now. Stone Mist has been controlled by everyone at this point.

So a little analysis from a BG guy.
Friday opening: BG dominated for a day, first in scores. SoS and JQ both realized they are outdone. Double teaming begins soon after because they simply can’t stand the thought of a newcomer rolling them like this. We have witnessed whole SoS and JQ zergs almost going through each other just wave and move on both attacking BG. Say what you want i have seen it all day long. Hey it rhymes. It’s a poetry piece! It’s the ugly political reality of T1.
Every server has someone who says the same thing.
“I saw the other two servers not fighting each other and just ganging up on us.”
On one of the servers I played on, I’ve stood and watched the other two servers try to destroy each other over a tower and someone in /map said “We’re being doubleteamed.”.

In WvW there has a been a number of times where I was queued for a map and while in the middle of a fight, the popup asking me to transfer or re-enter the queue popped up.
These prompts should not be displayed while someone is in combat.
If someone is in combat they should get a notification blinky thing up in the corner. Then after the fight, they can open the notification and make their choice at that time.
It is extremely annoying to be in the middle of a fight and suddenly BAM!….“Do you wish to travel to blah blah blah” (or whatever that prompt dialog says) right in the middle of your screen.

Not really complaining. We on JQ welcome spies. This isnt our first WvW/RvR/PVP rodeo. As far as 2vs1 learned months ago that’s how WvW is played. We expect to be 2vs1. But if we are talking about egos and insecurities JQ isnt the server making holiday excuses, making mocking troll videos vs other guilds, nor sending whispers to commanders from other servers on the field of battle.

This is what happens when you get two servers with big egos together. SoS has a big ego, rightfully so I suppose since they’ve been NA #1 for weeks now, but BG also seems to have a big ego coming back to tier 1. Yes, JQ has a ego too, but I dunno, just doesn’t seem to be as big as the other two, and I’m not saying that just because I’m on the server. The banter in this thread seems to be mostly between SoS and BG.
Any server in tier 1 is going to have some sort of ego.
You don’t get to tier 1 by being insecure or hesitant.

A poison field and a field that negates healing altogether similar to the ones in orr needs to be added at the beginning of the jumping puzzle to prevent guilds from camping the start of the puzzle 24/7. It renders all the tricks and traps throughout the puzzle mute and it’s easy loot for the campers to prey on one target at a time using the overpowered mesmer pull ability. Since you can’t go back through the portal; if you get tapped by an arrow cart you are effectively dead.
You can argue that they would camp outside the field or treb the spawn from a distance and you wouldn’t be able to heal ect. The can make the edge of the field intercept projectiles into it and give players multiple routes of escape out of it. At least in this case if the fringes are being camped one can simply log before they are picked off and discourage camping the start of the puzzle.
Kill the campers.
No need for poison fields if they’re dead.

I know exactly what you’re saying. Just yesterday, I was playing Pac-Man, and no matter how many dots I ate or how many ghosts I killed, those boards just kept filling up and those ghosts just kept chasing me over and over and over again. I didn’t feel like I achieved anything. It’s so lame, I kept 100% each map and killing all those ghosts and didn’t get a single achievement of any kind. I mean, what’s the point?

Ok i have 3 lvl 80,s , 100 % map completion , 5 × 400 crafting and nearly 3k achievement points , but it feels like i have done nothing , i dont know why this is . Does anyone else feel the same way ?
Need more cool titles n rewards at least , and being able to see you’re own achievement in game might help

From the sounds of it a little note on your achievement tab that you’re a “SUPER ROCKSTAR” would do the trick. Then you’d know you’d achieved something because the game told you you were a Super Rockstar.

So obviously, the way you get commander status is to pay 100 gold for it. However, people often mention that they feel like just being a commander doesn’t mean you deserve it, or deserve having people follow you.
I love WvWvW, and am working towards commander status. However, I want to feel like I “earned” it. So, in everyone’s opinion what should I do to earn this title, in addition to saving up the 100 gold?
Just prove you know what you’re doing.
In any group, people need to figure out who the good leaders are and who the sucky leaders are, and that takes time. It’s one of those things you learn by watching, paying attention and experiencing.
If you’re actually a good leader who knows what he’s doing, people will eventually gravitate to you regardless of whether you have a commander icon or not.

I think Break out event is working as intended, you are complaining about a “tower” (10 points), while what this event does, is giving some foothold and “hope” to oppressed servers.
Who takes hope from this?
We’re getting our butts kicked. We should have no structures, but because the game gave us unbreakable siege and a super powered commander w own a tower. The only reason we have this tower is because of the enormous advantage the game gave us for nothing….what hope do we have of taking anything else where we don’t have unbreakable siege and a super powered commander?

Ive got only one simple question) wth?
Thief dealing a lot of damage by 2 hits. I’m not a warrior or guard with heavy armor so i’m dying fast enough. Is that normal?
at WvW i see thieves everywhere xD Yeah i know that it’s the easiest class (only 3 buttons almost in every mmo) and always high damage…but that’s makes game sick.
As engineer i can kill thief (not always but mostly) 1×1 but 1×2 = fail.
And please dont tell me something like:
Dude l2p, thieves has no overdamage! Stop qq, we are thieves and we are cool. We using more than 3 buttons for kills…etc

1) I am asking Anet to fix this by adding a skill “Destroy” in skill slot 10 of all siege weapons. That way our team could easily destroy these flame rams, to let our yaks though.

I mean it’s also possible that the JP was conceptually a good idea yet terrible in execution…. like basically so many other things in this game. I like the idea, personally, but I think it could use a slightly better design overall.

I don’t see what’s so wrong about the design. I think the goal was servers would fight over the ability to complete the jump puzzle. A group of Server X players get together and hold the JP area so other members of Server X could do the puzzle.
Server Y players looking for 100% map completion….get some more Server Y players together and kick the Server X players off the jump puzzle.
I think that was the design intent anyways…I could be wrong.

I saw what I thought was a great idea in one thread yesterday and wanted to see what other people thought. I haven’t thought it through all the way (part of the reason for this thread) but at first glance I thought it was great.
Currently keeps, towers, etc all have point values in the scoring system. It doesn’t matter how long you hold it for…if you capture a keep 5 seconds before the scoring tick, you get X points, capture a tower you get Y, and so on. A lot of people think this makes holding these place pointless.
The idea was to increase the value of these places the longer you hold it (up to a limit).
So…if something is worth 10 points now it would become something like:
1st 4 ticks, you get 2 points. Next 4 ticks you get 4 points. Next 4 you get 6 points and so on up the max point limit of a structure (sample numbers only to illustrate the point).
Your hold counter would reset at any point if the keep is taken from you, so if something is taken but you take it back before the tick…it’s still your 1st tick.
Ideas? Thoughts? I thought it was cool because it would make holding these places more important than it is now. Rather than just zerg and rush before the tick for full credit, you’d have more incentive to hold places and defend them.

Today I had been playing WvW in GW2 to try and take a break from PVE. To my displeasure, I found myself alone trying to get from one side of the map to the other when suddenly a lvl 80 enemy character came rushing at me. My character is lvl 17 and was completely destroyed by this enemy. The Imbalance in WvW is so ridiculous you can’t try to move anywhere alone without being overpowered by just one other person. Im not new to Guild Wars, I played the first one and have owned the second one since before it came out, and I really had high hopes for WvW but I will no longer play it if something isn’t changed. It makes it very unfair for anyone lower than lvl 80 to enjoy what seemed like an awesome style of PvP. Its no fun unless your in a giant mob with a bunch of other lvl 80’s, and still then, you feel like your doing very minimal towards helping capture bases when you know everyone else around you is blowing your DPS out of the water. There’s really no opportunity for 1v1 unless you get lucky and are fighting someone who’s also traveling alone and is in the same lvl region as you are, but I feel the chances of that are slim. Even being defensive (dodging) helps little against anyone higher lvl then you are. Taking away the gear based PvP system would, in all, make WvW much more enjoyable, or even setting lvl brackets would be great. I know that this is a “World vs World” and you should be able to show off your strengths and ability’s to your opponent, but being a low lvl in WvW gives you no chance against that person. They should make WvW either strictly for lvl 80 players, or add some sort of way where a lvl 17 character could have a chance.

I’m running around at level 20 right now and having a ball. I have one other character that’s been 80 for a while which I’ve done WvW with so I’m relatively familiar with it, but if you give it a little time, even at 17 you should be able to help your side.

Its quite simple to negate some of the shielding when you are the one firing the trebs..
1. aim a little left or right after each shot
2. when you are shooting multiple trebs, do not fire all at once.While your are mindlessly spamming 222222 the eles actually have to watch the projectiles to shield it. Also you need more eles to shield than the number of trebs. So I say its not broken and working as intended.
Shooo. There will be none of this learning and adapting heresy you seem to be advocating.

Downstate is fine. It may need tweaking but the overall idea is a good one.

Instead of something being worth 20 points right off the bat start at 5 and work up.
First 4 ticks are 5 points. Next 4 are 10, etc, etc, up to 20 or whatever the full amount is.
Hmmm….Not sure of all the specifics but I like the general idea. (I think. I may decide it sucks after I’ve had a chance to fully think about it.)
