Two things:

1. Whether or not they formed super servers the queue should still work correctly.

2. It’s not like a queue is a new gizmo and no one is sure how it should work.

I have doubts about what happened this week. It looks to me like part of SoS quit. I’ve been told people are training/resting/taking time off.

I want to see for myself. Only way to do that is face JQ again.

I do it sometimes. I don’t do it other times. I’ll usually do it for short periods while others run supply to be able to fix the wall or something like that.

I won’t stand there like a donkey doing it for 30 minutes. I have a job that pays bills and swirling winds to protect Garrison’s west wall is not it.

It’s tier 1. Short of cheating, hacking and exploiting, anything goes. Recruiting, paying guilds to transfer, mercenaries, giant zergs, 24/7 coverage…all good.

No idea. I like WvW overall. It’s not perfect, but I think overall it’s quite a bit of fun.

What I’m getting very tired of is the culling. It’s getting to be very annoying to have no idea what is actually around you at times….friends, foes, how many of each…all seem to be a mystery at times and that is frustrating.

With no monthly fee, I can see me putting this down for a while and coming back in 4 or 5 months to see if there’s been any progress on that. This latest change is not progress, IMO…it’s no better or worse than before, just a different set of culling issues.

Not really make or break, but it may be time for a pause.

I don’t know. Now I have allies disappearing and reappearing and the enemy groups still appear out of nowhere.

This is no better, it’s just different.

It seems to me that almost everyone has given up…including the supposed “hardcore pvp guilds”.

This doesn’t feel like tier 1. Too much complaining for the supposed top tier matchup where the biggest, meanest, most competitive servers play.

JQ has what it has. The real tier 1 servers will figure out how to deal with it as best they can. The other servers will not remain in tier 1 for long.

I just did it with an ele actually. Started back in November, reached 80 about 2 weeks ago…nothing but WvW from 2 up.

Early on I manned a lot of siege, rezzed a lot of people, carried a lot of supply, and did nothing but zip in, try to knock people down, and zip out.

I have a level 80 thief and a level 80 ele.

My playstyle is “I suck, but I don’t care”.

I haven’t used my thief in a couple of months, but my ele fights naked or half naked depending on how tough things are in the war.

I like to show off my powerful asuran chest since I think it intimidates the opposition.

I frequently spy on the other servers I am fighting to gather information.

My favorite saying is “Thanks for the rez”.

The only one I summon is the fire sword. Someone picks it up about half the time.

Everyone on every server in every guild is encouraged to fight shirtless this evening (EST evening).

No real reason other than I think it would be amusing.

No shoes either. While we’re smashing each other half naked, we’ll laugh at 7-11 and their goofy “no shirt, no shoes” policy.

ok we all know that today A-net has officially announced that at the end of this week the WvW rating system is going to be zeroed (all servers having 150 points or something). so you tell me if there is any point playing wvw this week? As a Kain player we will be better of if we stay in this tier rather then moving up a tier since we will get more points here then in tier 3. So whould we continue fighting? what for. Its better if we let the Yaks and CDs take all our stuff…. I know this is frustrating but what can we do? Just follow and run around like a headless chook.

The point is the same as always.

Put your best armour on, grab your best weapon and try to kill everyone around you that’s not on your team.

That doesn’t change.

You can’t just let people transfer for free then suddenly take it away without any warning. Arenanet did it the way it should have been done.

They should have given everyone one free server transfer. Then switch to two day matches between servers for a week which would have allowed the servers to settle a bit.

I’d be fine with everyone getting 1 free transfer.

However, they ended standard free transfers the way they should have. Everyone had time to make their decision and go where they wanted.

In effect, everyone did get a free transfer, you just had a little over 1 week to use it.

All this is meaningless.

What’s incredibly meaningful is the really fun fight at garrison we just had for at least the last 2 hours.

You can’t just let people transfer for free then suddenly take it away without any warning.

You stuck on a low pop server, transfer now. You’ve had ample time to move to a high pop server.

Numbers, coverage, holidays, 2v1, recruiting, PvE this, PvP that….all just fluff.

JQ is doing a great job, BG is doing extremely well for what supposed to be the weakling and number 1 is getting it’s kitten kicked right now. That is all.

So a non-hardcore server stayed in tier 1 all that time?

They should fix it so that if you’re in a party with someone and they’re on an opposing team, you can’t see them in stealth. I was playing sPvP hot joins with my guild yesterday and I could see my friend’s mesmer when she stealthed, it made fights much more difficult for her. Other than that I don’t have a problem with partying up with enemies.

Why should they do that?

Don’t party with the enemy if you don’t want them to see you in stealth.

I’m okay with paid transfers. But I was also okay with the idea of free transfers, but a 1 week hold on WvWvW on your new server to prevent rampant server hopping.

I’d also be okay with all players getting a free transfer once a year.

While I agree with the idea that you should always fight for first, sometimes, circumstances dictate otherwise.

You have to be in tier 1 to fight for first in tier 1.

If for a short time it benefits you to smack #2 to stay in tier 1, that’s what you do. If it benefits you to smack #1 to stay in tier 1, that’s what you do. If it benefits you to smack both at the same, you do that.

Run naked. Be free of all concerns for armor and gearing up. You simply need to worry about weapons. As a bonus, aside from being free from the trouble of gearing up properly, you are free from all repair costs.

But see, you can do that in sPvP, why go to WvW?

Because sieging a keep for 3 hours is fun sometimes. There’s nothing like that in SPVP. One minute you and I are on the same small team. 15 minutes later we’re on a different random map on different teams. There’s no longer term goal.

I think the major guilds coordinate to have all their members log off at the same time for a short time period. The population status is determined by the amount of people online, so this would take it down a notch from full, allowing people to transfer there.

So you are suggesting that they may be artificially making the population appear lower to cheat server limits?
Just as a query, but if that is what they are doing, doesn’t that sound like the definition of an exploit…..?

What server limit?

Say 1000 (sample only) are allowed on at once.

100 people log off, 100 people transfer…there is still only 1000 people allowed online at once.

It’s basically the server deciding which people around you to tell you about.

You are standing in a field. There are 75 people around you. Rather than send you 75 people’s data it decides to save itself som ework and your client some work and only send yo information on 50 people.

Your computer only knows about 50 of the people, you can only see 50 people, but there are others around you just cannot see.

They tried to write the server so it would do this intelligently and show you the people you would most likely want/need to see, but it doesn’t always work very well.

Do these guild leaders actually think one guy represents the entire server? Because I’ve seen plenty of jerks from each server on the forums, and I’ve run into plenty of jerks from each server in game…so I’m not sure what assumption I should draw from that about each server….

Well….I’m travelling for work this week, so no computer I can play GW2 on until Saturday.

Instead of fighting my guild is recruiting. My guild consists of just me, so I am recruiting.

I don’t care what server you play on. This guild is cross server. It’s universal.

All we care about is:

1. Are you Asuran. No bookahs allowed. Seriously. Do not apply, bookah.

2. You must WvWvW. I don’t care what else you do, but you must partake in the joyous slaughter that is WvWvW. And I’m not talking about jump puzzles.

3. Can you frolick? If you can’t frolick whimsically, I have no need for you.

4. Are willing to strip off your armor and run around the field of battle sans clothing for extended periods? I’m not talking about 2 little naked charges where you die instantly then put your armor back on….I’m talking days of naked combat against bloodthirsty enemies who do not care that you are naked or frolicking and will stab, crush, shoot full of arrows, blast with lightning, roast with fire and just generally stomp you into the ground any chance they get. For days at a time.

5. Skill level matters not. I am the Overlord of NAKY and I suck horribly.

If you meet those 4 critera, NAKY is the place for you, my frolicking little Asuran nudist friend.

But the downed state and the easy nature of revives makes this the most downright frustrating experience in any video game I’ve played in the last decade. I’ve litterally attacked groups of 3 by myself and downed the same player 3 times. But they just keep on reviving.

So you’re unhappy you can’t win 1v3 and rather than adjusting to the game the way it is, you keep playing the game the way you wish it was.

Interesting. To each his own.
