Maybe they should make the reward from the final boss in these event chains scale based on player participation in the DEs leading up to that event.

If it resulted in people joining in the end receiving less reward that they do now that would simply put everything back where it was several months ago with nobody bothering to do them at all.

But the thread wasn’t about efficiency. Look at the OP – it IS about viability. And you’ll see that I did in fact answer that anything was viable.

YOU are the one who made this a discussion about good and bad. You equated efficient with good and inefficient with bad.

Answered to death already. See above. Not going to answer the same thing for the third or fourth time now. Everything is viable.

Read your own posts again – you directly said if you don’t run berserker then you’re a bad player.

You first. As I’ve explained several times now what I did say is if you’re trying to be efficient, if you’re going for performance, the only reason not to run berserker gear is if you’re not good enough for it. I stand by that.

I am sure that they helped a lot. 5 people against Ulgoth likely would have been a fail. That really isn’t the issue though. It would have been much more fun to have the people playing along for the event chain. It needed not be a struggle. There were clearly people available.

Plus, I was asked what event i was doing this time. I’ve seen it plenty of times on others. You argue that no one forced me to do the event. True enough. I do events because I like doing events. they are much more fun with more people.

Actually those people weren’t necessarily available. They were most likely doing another boss (Golem Mark II seems to be the one that lines up behind Ulgoth more frequently for my server), finished, and ported over to that one.

And yes, would be nice if people played the entire chains, except that there’s no reward for doing so. The only reward on the previous events is Karma (who cares) and Experience (mostly irrelevant if you’re lvl 80).

If the rest of the chain was rewarding people would do them much more often. If, on the other hand, they nerfed the last boss’ drop to make the entire thing equally unrewarding, then we’d be back to 2 or 3 months ago when nobody did those at all.

It’s all about investment and return. The return you get for doing those chains does not in any way compensate the (at least time) investment required to do them.

No you are saying “dont do +all stats b.c it sucks” Im asking and saying, lets find the best class/build for it"

Im trying to find a way to use the +all stats the best I can, you people keeps going back to, “Zerk is better run that, dont do +all stats”

It seems you dont get it, Lets talk about +all stats and what classes it works better with.

kitten ppl thats the name of the topic, its not “Is +all stats worth it?”

You already have that answer . D/D elementalists in PvP, with potential for specific engineer builds, also in PvP. Other builds or situations benefit more from more “directly tailored” gear. Can you use it in other characters or situations? Yes, but it’s not ideal.

This has been repeated ad nauseam.

Enough of the “it doesnt matter” because it does matter, yes you can do basic pve with “No gear” but that doesnt mean it is “good” and what I mean by good is, you can do your quests/story/dungeons/fractals and be able to finish it feeling good, not dying all the time, feeling like you actually did something and not something that make you feel better than other players like “I did it with no gear, look at me” but know that your character can handle it and the sense of completion.

Your feelings are subjective and, therefore, irrelevant to discussion. Everyone has different feelings.

And you can finish all PvE content “naked running” barely dying.

If gear didnt matter at all, then no one would be where it, Zerk cof p1 runs wouldnt require gear checks, some parts of dungeons like the 1st boss in TA wouldnt be a dps race and zerk well, zerk wouldnt get a name b.c there would be no one wearing zerk armor they all would laugh and say “you got armor on? well you must suck at this game”.

Because they’re looking for efficiency . You’re really struggling with this one aren’t you?

CoF Speedrunners aren’t worried they won’t finish the dungeon. They’re trying to speedrun , i.e.: run it as quickly as possible, so they need to be as efficiently as possible. Naked runs aren’t efficient. Non-berserkers aren’t efficient. It’s sad but true. Can other people, with “inefficient” parties, builds and gear clear CoF 1 without dying a billion times? Yes. They can do it naked rangers even. Are they going to be as efficient as a full “tried and true” speedrun berserker party? Not by a long shot. It’s all about what you want.

Lets me real for a minute and actually discus something that could help players make a good fair choice within the means that they want.

But you already have that. You’re just willfully disregarding the answer because it is not convenient.

The event scales, so the 30 players that showed up for the boss didn’t negatively impact the previous events of the chain. If anything they helped you with the final boss. And, trust me, if it’s the Ulgoth chain and you struggled with the prior events, you needed that help badly. Nobody forced you to do the other events, and nobody made them worse for you either.

So many ppl not even trying to figure out a good class for +all stats b.c you dont like it or feel you think its crap.

Why dont we talk about “What claases and types of builds are good for +all stats?” instead of just saying “Its crap, go zerk only”

Ok Ok we understand you think zerk is god.. fine, get that out of the way, can we please actually talk about how to use +all stats now? B.c maybe we want to for fun? b.c there is more to fun than killing things super fast.

Sigh…

“Good” in what way?

“Viable” to finish PvE content? Anything. Doesn’t matter. You can do it naked. The gear is not class-locked so anyone can use it, and you barely need gear to finish PvE content, so it doesn’t matter.

Efficient?

None in PvE.

In PvP: D/D Ele. MAYBE very specific Engineer builds… And that’s a very questionable “maybe”. Nobody else truly benefits from the “scattershot” approach and would be better off with more specific gear tailored to their builds.

I believe this has been posted repeatedly now.

Again, with the “you aren’t good enough to” … um? I, personally, probably am not good enough for most things you consider worthwhile, but I consider myself good enough.

…uh? What is this I don’t even…

But this thread isn’t about efficiency. It’s about viability.

Viability in the sense of “can you finish content like this” is irrelevant. Everything is viable. People do naked runs kitten . PvE, in the “being able to cross the finish line” sense, is kitten easy.

And why would you need to be better than anyone else to run full zerker? You hit dodge and negate all damage. Then you hit so hard you finish an enemy before it can level another attack. Hmm. Yes, efficient, certainly. Good? You haven’t shown me anything that marks out any skill there. If anything, the you’ve specced yourself out so that the build is a crutch in itself. It’s a good build – you don’t necessarily have to be good to play it.

I think you’re having some sort of comprehension difficulty here…

Again, we’re talking about efficiency. To be the best possible in PvE, to be as efficient as possible, you run full berserker. This has been demonstrated and explained several times now. The only reason to not run full berserker, if you are trying to attain the best possible performance, is if you’re not good enough to run it. If running full berserker is, as you said, “easier”, then there’s absolutely no reason not to if you are trying to improve your performance.

Whether that makes you a more or less skilled player is irrelevant to the question at hand. I guess you could claim that if you run a marathon with lead shoes it shows you’re more skilled than someone running with normal sneakers… Or a masochist. Whichever. Denominations such as those can be awfully fickle.

No, they aren’t running with crutches. They are running for fun, for enjoyment.

You are running with blinders. Assuming that anyone running non-cookie cutter is doing it because they must obviously suck, when in many instances its simply not the case. Not everyone plays to simply powerhouse through.

There’s a difference.

See above, discussing fun is irrelevant. Fun is subjective. They might be running for fun, but they are running – crippled -for fun . Whether they find it fun or not is irrelevant to the fact that they are gimping themselves.

Which is the point so many of you seem remarkably thick to absorb. “Fun” is a subjective concept. We can’t discuss what’s “fun” because there are no objective parameters. Some people think it’s fun to clear challenges as efficiently as possible, some like to try to clear challenges by gimping themselves as much as possible (e.g.: naked runs). Whatever you prefer is your problem, and completely subjective. What is more efficient however, is factual. Full berserker. If you wanna be efficient you go full berserker. If you don’t care about that go whatever, doesn’t matter, the game is easy enough as is.

I like biking. I like walking and hiking. I hate riding in cars, especially if I’m not driving. I hate buses. But a car is a more efficient method of traveling long distances than a bike, regardless of which I find more fun.

That just means you’re bad players and you need to be better. It doesn’t mean that the gear itself is worse. You’re using a crutch. You’ll run faster once you let go of it.

See, you just lose the attention of people by saying things like “you’re bad players”. Bad players? Sheesh. I was trying to listen to your view before you say things like this. Now you will just annoy people. Just because someone doesn’t agree with you that zerker is not ALWAYS the best way to go no questions brooked, doesn’t make them bad. Maybe it makes them better and more versatile, adaptable to more situations. Without the backup of someone with some form of healing, many zerker builds go down quickly. Honestly, if you want a discussion, avoid ticking people off. If you just want to flame, then you’re as bad for this discussion as you think the rest of us are at playing.

I feel the same, and completely agree with everything you just said.

Here’s the thing you’re both missing: Like it or not, it’s true. The only reason you wouldn’t go full berserker is if you, or your group, simply aren’t good enough to. That has nothing to do with what’s most efficient.

Is running with crutches better than running without them? Well, if you have a broken leg you kinda have to… But running without crutches is still better.

Which would be ok if Confusion wasn’t as easy to reapply as it was/is. If Confusion had, say, the same availability as Dazes, then that would be reasonable. But it doesn’t. So it wasn’t. See the problem?

Not everyone is GOD at playing every class like you are, most players arnt perfect like you are and take damage and hits, When I do arah I love my guardian and I love my thief, they are bunker builds, if it wasnt for those builds alot of the times we wouldnt have beaten arah.

That just means you’re bad players and you need to be better. It doesn’t mean that the gear itself is worse. You’re using a crutch. You’ll run faster once you let go of it.

How many high level fotm you see are full zerk parties? hmm I seen none, they all have some type of toughness or Vit with them yes a warrior or 2 with zerk is normal but guardians or that other warrior, normally not.

All the good ones. Especially since at high level fractals things one/two shot you anyways.

Show me a video of Full 5 man zerk teams (with different classes) doing, AC, CM, TA, Arah and 30+ fotm… then I might change my mind to ZERK IS GOD.

It wasn’t overpowered, ArenaNet just didn’t give the userbase enough time to learn how it works. They bowed to community pressure and applied a knee-jerk fix.
It basically came down to people not understanding how they died and not willing to even find out how.

Confusion was overpowered. It did too much damage given how easy to apply, restricting and long lasting it was.

Yes, you could deny confusion’s damage by not doing anything, which effectively made it a daze, leaving you completely helpless. Way too powerful for how easy to apply it was.

Coming from a player with a Guardian as a main (well and a thief) And after playing with Zerk, Knights, Valk etc… (full exotics too btw) I find Im not very useful at all, Knights is fine for leveling/solo pve or easier dungeons for a fast run, like SE, hotw, Cof or even TA. But when I made the change to P/T/H and/or P/T/V with runes +% to boons (for fotm) and a armor set for Soldier runes (for dunegon like TA with lots of conditions) I play 1000x better and I could Never go back. There is no need for a Zerk guardian. Now with that said I do have a couple zerk pieces I can switch to just for a little extra damage when it is need like in the Grawl/Shaman fotm level at the part where you need to kill the grawl before they get to the villagers But then I go right back to ptv armor.

Then you’re doing it wrong. Plain and simple.

Only reason to not use full zerker as a guardian in PvE is in VERY specific circumstances where you’re going cleric’s instead, for AoE healing. But for the most part you’d be better off with zerker as well.

This has nothing to do with how you feel about it. You might prefer the style associated with tanking or healing. As far as effectiveness go, full zerker is the right answer.

Divinity Rune vs Celestial

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

ProxyDamage.9826

Celestial stats are worse than Rune of Divinity stats. Divinity specializes on critical damage, while celestial is mediocre at everything. This makes divinity an excellent choice for dps builds that make use of every stat.

Ruby orbs. Much better.

The only use for Divinity Runes is PvP, because there are no ruby orbs there.

And no, Scholar runes are a trap. They’re only better if you’re above 90% health. If you’re fighting anyone of any skill with a glass cannon, you only get a couple of attacks off, at most, before dropping bellow 90%. Ruby orbs are the best for DPS. In PvP, Divinity Runes can be used because there are no orbs.

to have fun

Fun is relative. Some people have fun by running around naked in town. Some have fun by min-maxing. We’re not talking about what’s fun, we’re talking about what’s effective. In PvE there’s no reason to use anything except full berserker gear. Can you? Yes. By all means. Make a full condition damage guardian for PvE if that’s how you get your jollies. Make a full soldier’s one even. Is it effective? No. It’s trash.

In the same manner, anyone can use celestial gear. But if you’re not using a D/D elementalist you’re crippling yourself. Even for a D/D elementalist this is only true for PvP. In PvE it’s full berserker, “as usual”. In PvP, D/D ele is the only spec that makes good use of all the stats celestial offers. That’s the point of celestial gear. It offers you more stats overall, but less of each, so you get a net benefit if you use all of them. However most characters and builds don’t benefit from a great deal of those, crippling themselves on the stats they do need for no reason.

In my experience they’re very close, but because of HB and GS traits, GS still wins. Axe+Mace only wins vs things like HP sponge bosses because of vulnerability stacking (which half of which is single target). If you already have vulnerability stacking on someone else or through some other utility, GS wins.

GS takes the lead again once you consider mobility options, and how the extra dodge from WW allows you to basically trivialize a lot of attacks in the game while delivering high AoE damage.

The fact that this thread is still going confuses me greatly. This is what a court of law would call an “open and shut” case.

Picture person A. Person A does not like alcohol. They think alcohol is wrong, amoral, and bad for you.

Person A is not forced to consume alcohol in any way, shape, or form.

Despite all of this, person A walk routinely into bars and gets drunk. When inquired about it, person A responds “WELL, BUT PEOPLE SHOULDN’T BE ALLOWED TO DO IT!”.

What do you think of person A? What do you call person A in the above example?

That’s the OP, and people who share that point of view. They don’t like something, but they willfully and without any necessity do it over and over again. That’s Peter Griffin. That’s Homer Simpson. Those are the characters we point and laugh as ridiculous. Think about that for a second.

Then don’t look at it. I don’t get people like you… If you don’t want previews, why do you watch them?

I like content previews. Thus I look at them. Sometimes, such as is the case of certain books or movies, I wish to avoid any and all spoilers… So I don’t look at them. I avoid places where I could see them. This seems logical.

Nobody is forcing you to see the previews, so what the kitten is the problem? If you don’t want previews but still look at them, the problem lies with you. There are words for people like that. They’re not very nice or positive words.

If other people like them, let them have it. Personally knowing what’s in the patch makes me a lot more interested in it.

Axe is Garbage Now

in Warrior

Posted by: ProxyDamage.9826

ProxyDamage.9826

All of this on top of the HF and BP nerf mean axe damage is pitiful. I’m confused as to why the warrior community isn’t speaking up about this enough

Because most of the warrior community (and the game community in general) is patently clueless.

The recent changes ensured that there is basically never a reason to bring an axe to PvP. The weapon has no mobility, which already makes it a questionable choice for a warrior, but the final kick in the gonads came when they nerfed the auto attack damage, pushing it into the final hit of the third chain. Previously one of the good things the Axe had over other weapons was old plain auto-attack DPS and Eviscerate, if you set it up. It was the “brute force” option. With sword getting its own eviscerate and, overall, becoming a far better weapon than it already was (which was a good thing mind you, made the weapon viable), only thing Axe had going for it was AA DPS… And then they nerfed that… because of reasons.

As off right now there’s no reason to use an Axe in PvP…. Sword is the better option. GS is also a better option due to much better mobility. If you don’t need mobility, then Mace is the better option due to extra block and loads of CC. Axe fits in nowhere.

…And there’s little reason to not use a GS in PvE, so personally I put my warrior’s axes on the mantle piece to rust in piece.

Get off your kitten…

The only 2 skills I can agree with are kick (because it’s a very short range move that can whiff easily as is, it wouldn’t really give a warrior more mobility, just make the move a bit more reliable) and Earthshaker (because it’s in a horribly low mobility weapon, it’s already very predictable and easy to miss, and it’s not exactly long range mobility either).

GS has 2 high mobility movement skills.

Bull’s Charge is a high mobility utility skill (“stacks” with your weapon skills) that cause a huge knockdown.

Shield bash is a stun that also has a bit of extra range to make it more reliable. Not a skill to use for mobility.

Warriors are already nigh immune to immobilizes, and already had high mobility. If you’re getting kited by anything that isn’t a thief, you’re doing it wrong.

Well how are they better at running away now? Previously only mesmer and thief could get away from me, but it seems warriors are getting there now.

How in the world can a mesmer get away from you short of portaling away?

They get decent condition cleansing through Cleansing Ire + Longbow (if he wasn’t running longbow, or throwing down longbow fire fields whenever he removed conditions, it wasn’t this).

Balanced stance got an additional swiftness on activation/Dolyak Signet became a stun breaker (which gives 180 passive toughness).

Sword became a viable (in fact arguably THE most viable) weapon. Sword being the second most mobile weapon a Warrior has (first being Greatsword).

They got a couple more options of Stunbreakers…

And that’s about it from what I can think of… I mean, they got better, but still nowhere near a Thief. They’re much better at catching people though. But that isn’t the case here. You’re complaining he ran away from you, not that he caught you. So… I don’t know.

I was running S/D and shortbow. Sword #2 is spammable yes, but to actually spam it would be counter intuitive since using shadow return would be counter productive.

Utilities infiltrator signet, signet of shadows, shadow refuge. Shadow steps might be on cooldown since I blew it to get to him in the first place, then he slipped from me. I was chasing the warriors with 3-4 other people who broke from the main zerg.

Then he shouldn’t have gotten away. You did something wrong, plain and simple. I don’t know what, I wasn’t there. Doubly so as a S/D (I run the same) as you can steal his swiftness.

And I’m assuming we’re talking about a decent distance by the way, cause if it’s like, 10 ft into the nearest castle then that’s not really “outrunning”, that’s just plain old not being made of glass.

Warriors are a bit better at running away now, but there’s no way they can simply outrun a thief.

Let me try to put this in perspective for your class: would you want to lose all your adrenaline when your F1 ability is blocked?

It should. AND if we miss. Would work much better with cleansing ire AND open more doors for balancing around good, non-sloppy play.

That said you can reapply stealth in 3 seconds. Warriors need quite a bit longer to charge up adrenaline.

Shield stance lasts 3 seconds, throwing it up should out last the stealth anyways, so thus no backstab unless they chain stealths.

You are pretty bad at stealthing if you only get 3 seconds out of it…

Well I wasn’t running D/P so I didn’t have a spammable shadowstep.

Doesn’t matter what you’re playing. You still have more mobility than anyone in the game.

What were you playing? MH sword? You have a teleport with an immobilize and no cooldown.

MH D? Then you were playing D/P. Were you playing D/D? Bad thief. No reason to play D/D when D/P is superior at roughly everything. Even so Heartseeker is a hell of a chaser.

What was in your offhand? Not a shortbow? Bad thief.

What were your utilities? Infiltrator’s signet? Shadowstep? Why not? If you were an evasion thief you should be using the former. If you weren’t you should be using the later. You should also be using 50% movement speed on stealth if you’re a stealth thief. No one else can get 50% MS.

Was your steal on cooldown? What about traits?

Etc.

I guess you get a pass if you blew all of your cooldowns on some other kill/fight, and he didn’t… At which point, I guess, if you have a lower mobility setup, he (or anyone else really) could get away…

Mending or Adrenaline Heal?

I prefer Adrenaline for the higher burst heal and the adrenaline full recharge, giving me more offensive options or condition removal through longbow and cleansing ire.

If you’re not using CI+longbow, on the other hand, Mending is possibly the more desirable option (depending on the rest of your build). Particularly because it cleanses the conditions BEFORE the heal (nasty poison…).

Warriors got a much needed buff yes. They are far from “immune to conditions”.

That said, from your post history you seem to be a Thief player. If you’re playing a Thief and ANY other class outruns you you suck, plain and simple. Since the ele d/d nerf, no class comes close to the Thief’s mobility.

I know no one ever managed to get away from mine. Beat me? Sure, when they play better, but run away? No. Just no.

Imo, a player using a skill should appear from stealth, did it hit or not.

This. It’s kinda stupid that a terribad player can just flail his kitten around till he hits.

How Da Heck Do You Play Rifle?

in Warrior

Posted by: ProxyDamage.9826

ProxyDamage.9826

It’s a single target burst weapon. That said, since the longbow buffs and, more importantly, cleansing ire (and the fact that Longbow is the only weapon that can proc CI without hitting, and that brutal shot takes forever and 2 days of being immobilized to trigger CI, even if it hits) Longbow has simply become the better option, with rifle needing some love.

However Bleeding shot runs directly opposite to that.

Or you could ignore the bleed and account for everything else you’re getting. It’s…disconcerting how many people get caught up in the fact that there IS a bleed there instead of everything else about the kittening weapon.

Lightning hammer, ice bow, fire axe.

By your powers combined…

PS: All of those weapons exist in the game as mystic forge weapons that can be made. See wiki.

Elementalist

I have 2 lvl 80 characters in full ascended, an ele and a ranger. With the exception of zerging in WvW, the ranger is better at everything.

Anyone who complains about ranger DPS has never played an ele. Yes, ranger dps is incredibly low in comparison to the 3 melee classes but the ele auto attack doesn’t even hit for 300. The most damaging spell an ele has ‘Fire Grab’ barely clears 1k damage unless you spec full glass at which point everything 1 shots you.

…How?

I have a lvl 80 Elementalist. It dwarves Ranger DPS. What gear are you using? Cause if you’re not just outright lying there has to be something wrong with your account, cause my elementalist seems to outdamage yours since she was lvl 50, and she’s not even using berserker gear. In full berserker gear (which is what you should wear for PvE, no reason not to), elementalists absolutely destroy ranger DPS. Especially in a party, where they don’t need to tank and can just go full staff AoE DPS… They also bring a LOT more utility to the table.

So yeah, no idea what game you’re playing.

I don’t think this is an “opinion” thing. There are right answers and wrong answers on this one.

The right answer is “rangers”. The wrong answer is anything else.

There is really no contest. Previously you could argue Necros and Warriors, but even them at least had a better place in PvE (particularly Warriors). As off the last patch even Warriors are much better off, while Rangers are the worst they’ve ever been and are amongst the lowest tiers in everything. PvP, PvE, WvW, Dungeons….

Is Orr now Obsolete? Returning Player

Yes. We’re, ironically, back where we were 4 or 5 months ago. Since you’ve left they’re redesigned a lot of Orr, and for a while it was quite a nice place. However it seems like we were having too much fun and ANet has since overnerfed the whole kitten place again, with the end result being that, once again, no reason to bother with it.

You’d figure they would have learned the first time around, but alas…

You said kids not seeing realistic gore as a result of a violent act may result in kids actually committing them in RL. I replied by asking what if they enjoyed gore and are not repulsed by it at all and followed up by asking if the authorities had a spy program in place to monitor if people of any age were inclined towards sadistic video games and had sadistic tendencies in RL, so as to preempt any sort of attacks on the community in RL.

If they actually enjoy gore they’ve got issues that go well beyond violent videogames and playing them will in no way facilitate a “real life episode”. If anything it seems to work the other way around. I know I prefer random psychopaths to get their jollies out of mangling bodies in a game than grabbing a knife and deciding to go out and try it for themselves.

You need to understand the difference between being desensitized to violence as to not be shocked by it, and being ok with, or even enjoying, it. There is a line the size of the grand canyon between the kid that doesn’t throw up or even laughs when he sees someone bleeding and the kid that will actively attempt to get someone to bleed for his enjoyment.

No game is going to turn a kid into a murderer. It’s not even a “gateway”, because the thing a psychopath gets from killing someone… You can’t find that in a videogame, no matter how realistic they get. Murderers aren’t born from violent videogames. They’re born from kittened up lives, and violent videogames have about as much sway in it as you trying to move a cruise ship by slapping your hand against the water surface.

Some people enjoy realistic gore regardless of their age so how is that a deterrent factor at all. Is there some kind of spy program that monitors people and their proclivities so as to detect disturbed individuals via the games they play?

I’m sorry, but how is that relevant? Yes, some people like gore…. And? I’m not sure how that’s relevant to anything. If it was in the game, some people would enjoy it…? …And? …Good for them I guess?

Yet limbs dont get severed, skulls don’t smashed in, no big spurting blood pools everywhere you see. Its just not realistic enough. Some kids might imagine that Greatswords shoot lasers in real life. Think of the children. Dont let them turn into pansies who will faint at the sight of a RL maiming/torture/murder.

Let’s put it this way: I hope you realize the incoherence, if not the potential inherent danger, in letting a kid see people violently attack each other, but fervently denying them the result of said violent.

I know this is hardly scientific (I hope to run a test on that one day, if I get the chance to, or maybe find some studies on it), but have you ever noticed how when a kid pics up a gun and shoots another kid because of a cartoon they saw, it’s usually one of those cartoons with no blood or anything, where a bullet is little more than a punch to the gut? The disassociation between cause and effect seems, to my trained eye, more dangerous than the base knowledge that there is such a thing as violence – they know. They’re young, not stupid.

Personally, I don’t care of GW has blood or not. I think it’s more a matter of stylistic and artistic coherence, but when you start the “THINK OF THE CHILDREN” argument then you’re going down a very treacherous road that may not go exactly where you want it to.

…But Guardian can use a 1H sword and they’re quite good at it…

That said, I don’t get these posts. How are we supposed to know what you want? Try everything. There are only 8 characters, making a new one is free and quick, and you can try everything in PvP as a full lvl 80 from the start. The Wiki tells you who can use what, and what their skills are, and you can browse forums and watch streams for examples of gameplay. We can’t do anything else for you. You need to decide what you like. Or just do like most people (apparently) and have one of everything. It’s not that complicated.

Most people I know playing have kids, so I think they would not want to have their kids see blood while mommy/daddy is enjoying their private gaming hour. :-)

Of course not. Seeing people get hacked with swords, axes and daggers, being set on fire and smashed with hammers… that’s fine. It’s the blood that causes the emotional trauma. Really. Lesson learned kids: You can shoot someone in real life, just avoid the blood!

I’ll never forget that one idiot a few years ago, asking for a “no blood” mod for CS so he could play it with his 9 year old girl at peace. Stabbing and shooting daddy in the face is just dandy, just no blood! God forbid we realize that the perfectly ordinary liquid that keeps up alive is bound to spill from our bodies if we puncture them.

I wonder what kind of hysterics do some people go through whenever they get a tiny cut that bleeds a bit.

Rated T for teens.

Teens know what blood is

They also know what sex is, but put a nipple in a game and suddenly the rating sky rockets.

Remember that 90% of the reason these ratings and regulations exist is because of the kind of people that can’t breath and talk at the same time, so you can’t expect too much.
