Not a bug. If you could do that everybody would buy 4 sigils of serpent slaying and roll them till they get fire or strenght or…you get my point.
At which point the price of sigils of serpent slaying and such (a.k.a. the things that are currently basically bellow vendor trash) would rise in price till they normalized. The reason they’re currently 2 silver a piece is because they’re worthless.
Still don’t see a reason for it.
so people have to spend all their free time on this awesome mini game?
You hate it but its awesome? Lolque?
There’s so much ignorance in this thread I don’t know where to start. Just a couple random things:
1 – Adnul is the hardest, but doable. There is a strategy to it, learn it instead of randomly spamming kitten.
2 – You don’t need the drinking achievements to get the Bazaar Ambassador meta. You need 16 achievements. There are 25 achievements you can do. If you mean the Grandmaster of Om achievement, you don’t need it if you don’t like it.
3 – What you like is in no way related to what other people like.
4 – What is this I don’t even…
Dungeons are group content.

8.
Seven of them lvl 80. Last one is on its way (40 now).
This particular horse has been beaten to death already.
Necessary money sink. Nothing major. You’ll pay for it with a couple of monster kills.
Autotargeting is a good thing.
It isn’t. It’s a crutch. Learn to play without it. Instead bind a key to “select nearest target”, which is exactly what auto-targeting does automatically. You get far more control from the game and your issue with trying to remain un-targeted for certain skills (such as ride the lightning) disappears.
You’re welcome.
I love the common complaint of “I had to do it the wrong way, so everyone should be forced to do it the wrong way too!”.
Less grind is good people.
That said, as others have mentioned, context is important. You’re only getting these many badges this quickly because we’re receiving our achievement rewards retroactively. If you got these rewards any slower then even more people would complain, rightly so, of ridiculous and unnecessary time gating for its own sake.
i.e.: Get off your kitten.
I’m not sure. But I see this thread multiple times every day. A lot of people are missing something :/
Yeah… I don’t think the fault lies with ANet on this one…
If a person refuses to open their eyes and unplug their ears you can put any number of signs in front of them and the still won’t notice them…
Someone. Clearly not you. Sucks but, pick another and move on.
Called it:
In b4 nerf.
Some of you never kittening learn do you? Don’t share. Keep your mouth shut or it gets removed.
Lol well ya he didn’t look around but this question is asked often enough that ANET might want to consider tossing in “helpful hint”
How?
Genuine question. How can they make it any more obvious than it is?
1) It appears I am not the only person who is not entirely familiar with a new feature introduced to the game. (could it be that the new feature was not adequately explained? Naw, couldn’t happen. Oh, wait… apparently a number of people didn’t quite grasp how the new feature worked, so maybe it wasn’t after all)
No. No. Wrong. See Esplen’s image . It’s not physically possible to see “Soulbound” and not see the message right above that says “Additional copies of this item are available from the achievement panel”. I even went in-game to confirm that, yes, it is in the skin once you have it in your inventory too. It’s right there.
We’re not telling you to go dig through some interview on an obscure website. It’s not buried in the back of the manual in a tiny foot note in page 274. It’s in the actual item . It’s physically impossible for your eyes to see “soulbound” and not detect the message above. It’s written in as-simple-as-possible, plain English, not in ancient Sumerian or Esperanto.
Between that, the wiki, their many announcements in the front page and in the forums you’re posting on, I don’t see how it is even possible for them to make any clearer how it works… Maybe if they send a small team to every player’s house with a full powerpoint presentation and pre-made notes? I can’t understand. Does not compute.
The fact that so many people are having this issue does not exculpate you. It’s merely further evidence that we should all be very concerned, if not outright depressed, by the state of humanity. People will go out of their games, open a web browser, maybe even log in to a forum, make a new thread and complain before reading a single sentence.
This honestly confuses and depresses me…
Radiant. Hands down.
Perfectly tailored to my recurrent requests for more… “Simple but detailed” looking armor.
What I mean by that is that it’s armor that looks like actual armor, simple in overall design, but with nice details. I’m not a fan of the overly flamboyant and exotic stuff that ends up looking more like an horrible accident at Walmart than fantasy armor. Always thought CoF armor was tailor made for 15 year old kids whose idea of “cool” is being black and having flames.
Now if only they’d do some similar weapons… I’d literally kill for a one handed sword or greatsword that was basically a simple design (think Krytan sword), but with a shinning blade (such as the shine on radiant armor). Bonus points if it also left a very faint trail in the air.
I mean, my OCD feels your pain, but get some perspective here… Overreaction turned up to 11.
The amount of times I’ve seen this question is troubling… Does nobody read?
Each one you withdraw is soulbound. You can withdraw infinite amounts.
Are we talking leaving trails as you walk or as they are swung?
As you walk.
Hopefully it’s for every other weapon as well.
The funny thing is, Anet will find out anyway.
Actually, they never do till things get popular. It’s not Big Brother, they got more kitten to do.
I agree that many of them look a lot better than their legendary counterparts… But that’s usually because the legendaries suck so much.
Both bows are beautiful. Both legendary bows suck kitten .
Zenith pistol isn’t all that, but legendary pistol is horrible.
Zenith scepter is neat. Legendary scepter looks like its made by matel.
Zenith Staff is great. Legendary staff is…underwhelming.
Etc, etc.
Of course, “opinions”.
I guess Necro can have some issues as well, given that they lack cleave in all their weapons, so until a bit later when you can roll some wells, you’re kinda lacking AoE for that quick area clear.
necro is king of aoe in terms of leveling. Keywords are “marks” and “wells”
Marks do kitten all damage (conditions suck in PvE too), and Wells have a lot more cooldown, even after the buff, than most other character’s options.
In b4 nerf.
Some of you never kittening learn do you? Don’t share. Keep your mouth shut or it gets removed.
“Guys, I’m not getting enough free stuff!”
That said I’ll agree to them upping the MF reward from dailies if they also remove all the MF gear in the game (And yes, I have a set). I’ll take that trade.
I rolled D/D and full conditions on my thief while leveling, I don’t see your excuse :P
What excuse? If you’re leveling with daggers (and conditions especially) it is one of the hardest professions to level. Sword/pistol is so much easier it’s not even funny. Still kitten easy, but that’s because leveling in this game is kitten easy. Which is a good thing, cause leveling is hardly the most interesting part of any game.
Saw someone in this thread say ranger was hard…Idk what you were doin man, but you weren’t doin it right.
Now I started playing an ele got it to about lv 40, then started my ranger which became my main and is my only 80. I also have a necro around 40. So I don’t have a lot of experience with the different classes, but I do think ranger is a pretty easy class to level. I mean leveling ranger, you can just use your pet as a tank while you kill stuff. I wouldn’t recommend this as an endgame playstyle, but it works pretty well for soloing in open pve maps as you’re just leveling and getting used to the class. Plus rangers do have some nice aoes that you can use against groups when you’re leveling.
I’ve said it and I maintain it. Again, it’s not about it being hard, just harder than most. Which it is. Pet tanking is nice and all, but that only works against small numbers. If you compare it to, for example, the heavy classes that don’t even need the pet to tank, while still doing higher damage (and for the most part better AoE), it’s hard to say ranger is on even ground.
I guess Necro can have some issues as well, given that they lack cleave in all their weapons, so until a bit later when you can roll some wells, you’re kinda lacking AoE for that quick area clear.
I will say this: They have a thankless job. No matter what they do, someone will love it, and someone will hate it. And ANet’s “art” related team is fantastic.
That said, as far as I’m concerned, Dragon Jade weapons sucked dongs for the most part (staff, shield and torch being the exceptions), and the current Zenith weapons are very hit and miss – Bows (both of them) are awesome. Staff is awesome. Greatsword is both good and bad (has it’s place, basically). One handed sword is butt ugly. Hammer is pathetic. Most legendary weapons, with notable exceptions, are so kittening stupid that I wouldn’t wear them if I got them for free, let alone grind for them…
I’m still kitten ed at ANet that the most beautiful sets, particularly the great sword, they’ve ever designed (Sclerite) was delivered in such an atrocious fashion, such as was the Southsun boxes.
That said: “Opinions”.
.But I think that rewarding such large amounts is really just not fair. I mean in the past, you really had to earn your badges and as a casual WvWer, it could take quite a while to get a stack of 250.
“In the past, my great grandma had to walk to the nearest water place to wash all of her clothes by hand, so it’s not really fair that people get washing machines these days”
Life is not fair. Deal with it. We move forward, we progress. Things get better.
That said, these are one time rewards. You’re getting a lot of them now because, like most people, the system just came out and, fortunately, works retroactively, so most of us have quite a pile up of achievement points to cash in. Once you catch up to your current AP you won’t be getting these daily.
Celestial sucks.
Sure “stat combos”, but even then it should only ever be a mix of Berserker/Rampagers, which can be fixed by taking Berserker stats on ascended items and Rampagers on exotics. Taking Celestial just makes the player lose the useful stats in exchange for some crap like healing power or vitality which are NEVER useful.
Disclaimer: I talk in a PvE environment only.
And this proves you’re a bad player.
If this is “PvE only” then there’s only one right answer: Berserker.
Warrior and Guardian are the easiest hands down.
Hardest will be either Ranger or Mesmer. Ranger has kitten all damage and is ball and chained to the stupid kittening pet, while Mesmer is super squishy till they get their traits rolling.
Was going to say “Thief”, then remembered that no, I just decided to do mine the hard way – undergeared, with a crap PvE build and no sword. Sword and Pistol make it easy enough.
I don’t think you’ve considered the implications of having different “instances” of WvW… I’ll give you a moment to come to the bleeding obvious conclusion yourself.
Meanwhile, no, and get a better computer.
You mean… like… changing your armor and traits? GASP!
and it only took one post for someone to hate on it…
NO NOT LIKE CHANGING YOUR ARMOR AND TRAITS. i mean like whole new skills, limitations and advantages, weapon usability
Because it’s a ridiculous notion.
You can already change your character’s “role” freely, and dynamically instead of relying on a rigid pre-set system, by switching gear, traits and skills.
If you mean redesigning every class entirely, no, it’s a terrible idea and it’s never going to happen anyways due to the ridiculous amount of work it would require (for absolutely no reason).
1. Make Zenith skins account bound instead of soulbound please.
Why? You get an infinite amount you can acquire on any character at any time.
2. Let Original Poster delete posts
Why? All of the trolls here and Anet won’t delete all the troll posts, unfortunately.
i.e.: “Let me delete all the posts I don’t agree with”. What about no?
Why make the whole process so much more convoluted because you can’t decide on a skin now…?
The current system is pretty much perfect as is.
Staggering Blow, and by proxy the hammer as well, would become far more viable with that very simple change: make it a mobile skill. There’s no reason to root the user in place. The hammer is way too easy to hard counter has is (stability) and has enough lack of mobility.
Yep. That’s it for me… I’m out of these forums for today… Can’t even read this kitten.
Can anyone please make any sense of what the OP is saying? I think they want an off hand sword for the Thief “because of reasons”. But they could just as well be asking for a toaster infused Crème brûlée riding on a donkey for all I know.

+1
Yes please… The rapier was the thing I was looking the most forward to in the last update :/
This is supposed to be a dynamic world that changes. No zone should become obsolete.
1 – Most zones are obsolete because of crap drops/reward. Nothing to do with difficulty.
2 – Oakhearts are among the toughest monsters in any area, which is quite fine given that they’re non-aggressive. They only attack if you attack them. If you do that and aren’t good enough to kill them… Your problem. Don’t bite off more than you can chew. They’re still veterans and can soloed easily by any player. The ones in Queensdale are perfectly level with their zones.
3 – This is possibly the stupidest, most dumbfounding complaint I’ve heard recently… And that’s including the guy complaining about “out-maned” being changed to “outnumbered”. There’s something “special” and discombobulated about this thread…
I’m on Aurora Glade and the zones seem quite populated.
Same. Most starting areas have people in it when I go there.
Mostly it’s the mid-level areas, the dead zones of any MMO, that are empty. But, again, that happens to most mmos…
- People during the new Sanctum Sprint begging/demanding that the 1st Place person “hold back” and allow others to cross the finish line to get the achievement so “everyone can get it”.
Are you serious? This happened?
AHAHAHHA… Please tell me someone exploited the situation. I would have agreed to it… then when everyone else gathered, quickly cross the finish the line and hit /dance , holding my best “u mad?” face.
I love outsmarting kittenes, cheating cheaters. It’s…. Poetic.
there is no grinding associated with the current ascended gears
Yes there is. Grinding and time gating. Both of which should kindly get kittened in the kitten with a bottle rocket as far as I’m concerned. However, sadly, Ascended is currently the “BiS”.
Anyone else found themselves reading this and going “Yep. This change is totally worth complaining about.” in their most sarcastic inner voice?
Personally I have a problem with PC when it actually affects anything, like censorship… But you know… fight the power… ! I guess.
Some people just don’t like PvP. Other people just don’t like PvE. The way to make people who don’t like PvP play PvP is to not make it PvP. I.e.: You don’t.
I just had to endure two people crying for a mesmer for their JP for the better half of an hour.
There’s your mistake. You forgot that there’s a block feature. Just right click their name, press “block”, and they go away forever.
As for everything else: “Most people are idiots”… Woohoo “more on this at eleven”, “stop the presses”, etc… Nothing new.
Hi,
Assuming continued increase in stats on gear
There is no reason to assume that.
ANet stated that, at most, Ascended would be the absolute top quality in stats (along with Legendary), and recent rumor has it that they’ve scrapped the idea of more ascended gear entirely (if we’re lucky…I believe….). So as off now, there’s no reason to assume there’s going to be further “treadmill” than the current ascended stuff that, unfortunately, made its way into the game.
To be fair, they still haven’t fixed the issue of engineers barely ever seen any different weapons, since weapon kits aren’t affect and never change skin…. So, meh. I have 7 other characters to worry about.
Oh kitten off…
This thread is the most obvious evidence that so many of you are spoiled, self-entitled, and absolutely clueless…
You pick one at the time, and it’s unlocked forever. Achievement points are infinite, you can get more at least everyday – IN ANY GAME MODE – by just doing dailies. You’ll eventually unlock everything by just playing the game. It’s not going away with the update. It’s not forbidding you from playing other modes to earn more achievement points. It’s literally just freebies for playing…
Christ, even when they give you stuff for free you complain…
repeat with me:
PvP is a minor aspect of the game…and is the least played.
[Citation Needed]
If you’re going to make a claim like that, I’m gonna need references to reliable numbers. Cause I don’t see GW2 being broadcast alongside league of legends or WoW, and therefore creating publicity, for the PvE. In fact, all evidence seems to point to PvE being the secondary aspect of the game.
As far as pure PVE efficiency goes, Proxy is unarguably right about Zerk builds > all else. Simply put, once you have mastered the dodge mechanic and are at least “good” with it, the all Zerk gear is the best possible option for the overwhelming majority of PvE content.
However, (there’s always a “however” lol) … however, it has been my experience in both WvW and PvP that no one is as terribly bad a player in those venues, as the dedicated PvE “zerk” player. On average they have far less knowledge of their full catalogue of weapon sets than others, less knowledge of their skills and utilities and a very one-dimensional approach that makes them easy kills and a burden to your group.
Of course I am speaking in generalities, and there are many PvE zerkers that transition flawlessly to WvW and PvP. But exceptions they are, because the majority of the COF1 speedrun teenagers are incredibly lame players when facing actual human beings.
I will say that this is my experience as well. A lot of people forget that PvP (in which I include structured PvP and WvW) are completely different ball games from PvE. Nothing amuses me more than catching an obvious “full berserker speed runner” that thinks he’s still killing mobs. I like to use them as personal benchmarks, seeing how quickly I can destroy them, how little damage they manage to do, or I’m feeling particularly sadistic, how long I can “play” with them without killing them.
But to be fair, a lot of people are also absolutely horrible in PvP, with no relation to their PvE skill… Especially in WvW…
I see you answered it. I wasn’t asking you to answer it, I was just pointing out that your fixation on efficiency wasn’t what was being asked for here. The question of efficiency and good or bad wasn’t even really relevant.
And I know you stand by your point. I’m simply saying I object to the assumption that you’re “not good enough” because you don’t run berserker gear. I realise you find being efficient fun. But, as others have pointed out, fun is subjective. Maybe people don’t find it fun to complete a dungeon in 8/10 minutes flat. Maybe they actually want to have time to, I don’t know, actually experience something. Maybe they find the gameplay fun. Maybe they want to experiment. You are implying that all these people are bad players simply because they don’t CHOOSE to use zerker gear because “there is no reason not to”. I’ve just given you a few reasons why they wouldn’t, which have NO impact on their talent level.
I’ll mention three things related to the highlighted content, in order, and make of that what you will cause this is boring me now.
1 – If efficiency wasn’t relevant then the thread itself is irrelevant. As I said before, if your only question is who can use Celestial gear to be viable, in the sense of being able to finish PvE content the answer is anyone. It doesn’t matter. You can do that naked, so it doesn’t matter what gear you have on for that specific goal, so all gear is valid.
2 – You know who said that the most often? Me. Perhaps you should read my posts again, a little more carefully this time.
3 – Incorrect. I implied nothing. I stated outright that if you’re playing with efficiency and performance as a goal and not running berserker gear you are bad. Different.
I for one welcome proper armor looking armor for classes that aren’t heavy.
As far as I’m concerned, and perfectly aware that this is incredibly subjective, while this game does have beautiful armors, it also has precious few of them, with the majority focusing too much in being exotic and flamboyant and not enough in being simple and pretty. I want more things you’d expect actual warriors (if fantastic and magical warriors…) to wear. The kind of designs you’d see in, for example, Dark Souls or Vindictus.
Look at this kitten! Look at this! Or this!
…Etc.
But, hey, personal preference.
