This past Saturday we built over 60 omegas, hitting the siege cap, and then just walked around ebg capping everything in sight. It was pretty hilarious. Interesting thing is that even though we were siege capped at ~60 omegas, once we got in the omegas we could build more. I think once you get in an omega it no longer counts towards the siege cap.

I find it funny how many people are complaining about nighttime players and how “they don’t put in any effort to cap things that require 100000xs the effort during primetime.” I’m pretty sure 90% of these people have never even played outside their timezone. Sure there may be less people on, but that doesn’t mean the nighttime players have it easy.
Have you ever tried to stop 3 simultaneous golem rushes on 3 different maps with only 20-30 people? I can tell you it’s not easy. I am a primetime player but on a few occasions I have stayed up late playing with SEA/EU players. They fight just as hard as anybody during primetime. You just don’t see it.

They may be strong at the very high levels. In the games I play, having 2 thieves on my team is a loss 90% of the time.
I played team queues last night and we got matched up against Caed’s team a few times. They were running 2 thieves. We got absolutely spanked.

@ Arlette. No. It removes 3 conditions when you use it. For it’s duration, you get a buff that reduces condi duration on you by 33%. The buff lasts 1 second and pulses for 1second while you stand in the field.
I was using this build in hotjoins, soloq, teamq and dueling arenas last night and I can say it is hella fun! The build is kinda squishy so duels we’re intense but I won most of them. In teamq it provided really nice spike damage in team fights, although without many escapes if the other team figures out where all the damage is coming from it can get sketchy. In soloq this build just destroys. No one really expects a guard to do this kind of damage so you can catch a lot of unsuspecting people. I went undefeated in soloqs

I agree that the grandmaster radiance trait could be more appealing if, for example, it also reduced the recharge of sword skills. However taking so many points out of radiance means you lose the 10% sword damage and +10% damage vs targets with conditions, or 20% total damage. That’s a lot of deeps :O

A total of +40% damage with sword vs. burning targets.
Lots of sources of burning.
Sword/torch seems obvious but I’m not sure what to put for weapon swap. Scepter/focus seems like a valid choice for the ranged option, extra blind, block, immobilize to setup for sword burst.
What do you guys think?

how would you go about infracting someone for “you didn’t show up to defend a keep”?
maybe you didn’t notice that I used the word “unofficially”? it’s not an overt agreement, it’s just an how the zerg movements ends up syncing to one another(Server A is taking all of Server B’s BL keeps so Server B just goes to BL A to do the same.. then they each go home and retake all their keeps, rinse repeat.)
This is called karma training and is not against any rules. If a server wants to take an enemy keep instead of defending their own keep, that is their prerogative. The only time this could actually be against the rules is if both servers sit inside a keep trading it back and forth as soon as the buff is down.
Either way, scaling rewards based on the upgrade level of the keep would help to make both these situations less profitable compared to actually playing wvw.

Fights for a keep can last hours.
They can also last 5 minutes, and there’s already a history of servers unofficially agreeing to trade keeps back and forth just to farm rewards.
A good reason to scale rewards with upgrade level of the keep. Trading paper keeps back and forth or “karma training” should offer significantly less rewards than fighting for hours over a fully upgraded garrison.

Another possibility would be to have the dragonite scale with the upgrade level of the keep.

The amount of dragonite ore you get from keeps and stonemist really needs to be buffed. Fights for a keep can last hours. How much dragonite do you get? The same amount for doing a lvl 15 world event. To make one ascended weapon you would need to capture anywhere between 100 to 200 keeps.

I’m hoping that in the next balance/content update they will fix the minimap. It keeps immediately scrolling back to center on your character regardless of where your cursor is. It makes it really impossible to use the minimap to do anything besides look at your immediate vicinity.

1) Hammer F1 and Hammer 4 damage was just nerfed by 20% damage.
2) If you’re getting knockdown as soon as you get up, it’s probably not the warriors. You’re probably standing on a guardian line of warding.
3) Get stun breaks/stability/party up with a guardian or two.

Most commanders have to change characters based on the needs of the group/server/guild. To buy multiple commander tags becomes extremely expensive very quickly.

Seriously SoS…all you have done this entire matchup is prevent FA from getting points. Are you scared of TC or something? Especially your oceanic and EU guilds. All the do is karma train FA when we have 10 people on and don’t even touch TC. So I think CMC put it perfectly when he discussed why he was using diamond skin:

Diamond skin is only broken in straight up duels against pure condi, 0 power builds that can’t even do 1500 direct damage. Otherwise it sucks. Especially since to go 30 in earth you either have to drop 15 water for heal on attunement or 30 arcana for evasive arcana, meaning once you drop below 90% hp it’s very hard to get back above 90%.

With the latest release of ascended armor, the problem of alts has reached an all time high. If you have 8 characters, it will take you 1 year and 1 month to get all the ascended gear you need. This is assuming you get rings and backpeice from fractals and earrings from guild missions. And that’s for only one set. God forbid you have multiple armor sets. Here’s the math:
Ascended armor: 30 laurels
Ascended weapons: 15 laurels (assuming a dual wield/two hand weapon swap, can be more or less)
Ascended necklace: 20 laurels (assuming you buy them with wvw badges)
Total: 65 laurels
Multiply this by 8 characters, thats 520 laurels. For one set of armor/weapons and trinkets only.
Let’s say you’re really diligent, and complete every single daily and monthly. On average you will get 40 laurels per month, which isn’t even enough to gear 1 character.
520/40 = 13 months.
This calculation does not take into account laurel rewards from achievement chests, which vary from person to person.
This calculation also does not take into account wvw infusions, which cost 5 laurels per infusion and characters can equip (for the moment) at least 8 infusions or 40 laurels. If you factor this into account it will take 21 months to gear 8 characters.

I generally run scepter dagger with 30 in fire for the fury on fire field blast finisher. Sigil of battle. Arcane wave. rest is up to you. You should be able to maintain 20-ish stacks of might and permafury on your whole party if no one messes up your combo field (I’m looking at you, guardians :P )

The only thing I would change is how fast it ticks. Before you can even get out of the cloud, your zerg has lost half its supply. Perhaps adjust the aoe cap or the tick rate. Other than that I think it’s a good skill.

re: Rank acquisition
Glad to see you guys are considering keeping ranks in the game.
In terms of acquisition rate, I think there should be a noticeable difference between doing hotjoins, solo queue and team queue. There should also be a significant difference between winning and losing. However the rank 80 emote should be difficult to obtain. In gw1 after 7 years there were maybe 10-15 people who managed to get the dragon emote. That shows real dedication and experience, especially since you were only awarded points for wins. Perhaps a little extreme, but it should be something that not everyone can achieve.
Also, if possible please remove all rank/glory acquired by sky hammer farmers.
Bonus: Add a king of the hill format for team queues, a-la heroes ascent, where rank gain increases progressively the more you win. That would be awesome!

This is something we’ve been asking for since beta to no avail. It would be really nice if we could have alliances like in gw1. We tried to form an alliance in gw2 with another guild when both our populations started declining. It was so complicated and ultimately failed.

I am not much for removing ranks. Ladder and Leagues sound great, but here’s the catch:
People want a way to show veteran status as well as league standing.
Especially people like me, who play with very high-ranked people on an even footing but I don’t get to play very often. I don’t want my status in pvp to be reflected by only my league standing.

Yeah it was pretty boring. Although other servers were a good match during prime time, no other server has nearly the same coverage as FA does. I would log on, get some good fights for maybe an hour or two, but by about 10pm PST the karma train would start and we would we rocking 600+ ppt. Great for wxp, but truly and utterly boring.
