So just a question. WHY does everyone hate skyhammer? What is so non-competitive about it? What’s so hard about dodging as you go around the corner to point A or C when you know someone is contesting the point? Or stability?

Exactly. Skyhammer is a map for trolling people off the ledges, not for competitive play. And both skyhammer and spirit watch offer even more advantage for partial/full premade teams than the normal conquest maps.

Now when the leagues are gone, I almost stopped playing spvp. I always solo queue.

People who truly play mes will continue stomping kids even after the next nerf where all other mes builds (shatter, bunker, condi, mantra, you name it) are crap again compared to any given other profession running a similar build.

After the nerf all the people who just WANT to play mes will quit cause its too hard, and every other profession in the game will be happy cause only the great mesmers are actually any good and they wont have to worry about them as often. Real mes player will be upset they have to be twice as good as any other profession to be better than them but at the same time will be happy knowing they are some of the best and fewest players in the game.

So speaking on the behalf of the real mes population… Go ahead and keep complaining you can’t handle us. Get us nerfed time and time again…. We’ll just keep finding new ways to crush you. Keeps things interesting that way. ^^ gl stopping us next season

Ya know. When I played ranger, everyone was hating on ranger. When I play theif, everyone is hating on theif. Now I play rev, does everybody hate rev now? Why do I like to play the profession everyone else hates I wonder?

Some people have a lose sense of spelling. Don’t loose you mind over it :p

When I play as theif, i’m constantly rotating. Capping empty points, jumping into 1v1 fights to burst down oponent, starting off point fights when my team is ahead and holding majority of points.

Winning is more strategy and teamwork than build and profession.

I’d love for ANET to show stats for how often a 3 thief pug team beats a no thief pug team. I guarantee one of us will be right and it isn’t you.

You know what loses matches? Crappy players, no plan. I win just fine with 2 thieves on my team. You have to use the strengths you have and adjust tactics. What a crybaby!! Thieves can add a whole new dimension to your strategy, unless your strategy is clone meta build off the Internet and mindlessly bang away on your favorite skills. Stop the hate loser

keep it close to your moving keys, remove back pedal, use your mouse

So you re-bind “s” to an attack? what about “a” & “d”? Re-bind them to attack as well? And just use “q”,“w”, and “e” for movement combined w/ mouse? How to you evade backward?

Facet of light according to the livestream.

So then this really isn’t that big of a deal. When i’m on Glint i always pop that facet before a fight so if there isn’t going to be a cast time for infuse light, not really a nerf imo.

Power Herald destroys everything except Condi reaper. Even that i can hold until my teammate comes in to help. As for thief, unless you are bursting out of stealth from behind, you’re dead too.

When you pop facet of light in the middle of a team fight, someone ALWAYS hits you. Not everyone watches the opponent status icons. So even if you know not to attack me, your teammate doesn’t!! It’s insane to run into a 3v3, run my rotation, and see 3 downed enemy players in the wake of my destruction!!

I’ll be interested to see Herald after the patch. IMO even the upcoming nerfs won’t stop the REV TRAIN!!

Also, everybody overreacting about the auto boon strip. Itll probably be 1 boon on third attack. Not sure if you realize it but most necros already run very heavy boon strip, and revenants are very viable. Corrupt boon buff is actually more impactful than the scepter auto one imo

This logic right here is why I just bought blades of soul and left GW2 and likely not returning for any expansion here after.

95% of my guild, although PVX is also leaving as well. To make such a balance without community feedback or proper testing truly is a disappointment.

I must ask how many hours have you played rank PVP as a revenant? I can guess not many because you would know this patch is class breaking. So much so that a majority of those that main revenants will likely leave the game or role another class.

Personally I am tired of having to role another class every patch so I am done.

C’mon dude. I switched to Rev because i was tired of losing to them. Then i was like “Wow, winning is way too easy with Rev.” Rev is OP, anyone saying different just wants to win PVP no matter how unfair it is. It will still be strong after patch, you’ll just have to put down the dorritos while you play!

I used to main thief. I wasn’t winning as much so i switched to Rev. Now it’s hard to lose a match in PVP.

I don’t think any seasoned Elementalist would say that, in fact, they would say their skills are over-balanced to compensate.

The Revenant has the same issue. Some skills are very strong (particularly Shiro), but most of the heals are trash, and quite a few utilities are just useless.

The reason you did so well is because Power Revenant currently has quite a low skill floor for success and can do good damage while Thief is squishy and difficult to use, especially in this meta.

I agree that Rev has a low skill floor. Not sure what the deal was with thief since i average 190 points per match, but the team would still lose the match…

Implying scoreboard indicate anything else but being overtly aggressive in its playstyle and has no relevance as to one’s own usefulness in a game?
I mean one could have double capped, fought off point and finished anyone he came accross and have a very high scoreboard.
Doesn’t mean he contributed to his team in any manner that proved relevant.

If you are running Shiro/Glint, all of your heals are situational. So there’s no sure thing heal.

Again, on hands of incomptent this is true. not on hands of experinced players who knows when to pop it. it is low risk high reward for them. warriors dont use dafiance cause they dont have another heal like herald have. Herald can basically kite and block and kite till it get the facet again EASLY.

Welp. I think the design was supposed to be high risk/high reward, which is why some people are saying it’s broken. I don’t know how much experience it takes to use Rev right now. I used to main thief, but decided to try one of the META builds. All i can say is it’s pretty hard to lose running Herald. One of the lowest skill caps in the game imo.

After the patch, i’ll prob go back to thief and keep on winning
