People thought X was going to be disappointing before trying it. After they tried it, they found it was actually pretty great.

Yeah, but Dragonhunter was the same until it turned out to be definitely a terrible spec.

Actually only Bow is terrible, where Dragonhunter as a spec adds a lot of damage to the core class with its traits and two of its traps, particularly on large hitboxes. There is a reason that ALL of the raid meta builds and exactly half of the other meta builds for guardian are all based in Dragonhunter, and it’s not because it is “definitely terrible”.

If anything we should be happy that the Guardian Elite Spec is not so unbalanced that it completely invalidates the core class over the elite, unlike some specs on some classes.

hehe I like to see ppl write “Firebrand have so good looking visuals” but saddly visuals do not make this game unless you sit in LA showing off your class visuals.

Visuals do not attack nor defend you in pvp and wvw. Or they just wanna be pretty corpse

And DH was bad pre hot, traps were also bad with no boons. I was loud seeing how stupidly underpowered it was. Luckily some dev logged once into pvp with it and saw how underperforming it was so they buffed it.

I hope some dev log into firebrand and try pvp and wvw roaming and when he get rekt few times in couple of seconds he might buff us giving us true leaked kits.

Or I hope I see some dev in wvw and pvp with his firebrand so i can rekt him in there with my DH or Scrapper.

At least firebrand will be worthless so they might buff DH.

The people complaining havent even read all the traits. FB offers insane condition damage while providing permanent quickness that makes longer cast times irrelevant. Not to mention massive healing+utility. Our GM minor trait alone gives us passive 250 boost to cond damage, healing power and toughness. Axe AA stacks great amounts of burning and bleeding and F1 tome does the same but in massive scale.

You have to go trough the effort of hunting the tolltips here but so far I have found all skills and traits except F1 tomes epilogue skill.

She did not recorded skill at all cause they might change them cause its so underwhelming. We didnt see anything than her mouse going here and there on the screen. Very lazy stream by her.

If they bring kits as tome skills than yes it could be promising, but now saddly its firetrash like pre hot DH.

But beware, Firetrash will have 90sec cd on tome f3 which does not give any blocks except maybe 1 aegis which some classes ignore with unblockables (most of new elites have unblockable) and you are stuck in f3 until you spend all points and then you have 90 sec cd on it.

F2 have some heals resistance but when someone jumps you in wvw and pvp you have no active blocks you die pretty fast being as support class.

I dont see it will be used in raids cause chrono and druid can do much better on shorter cd and alacrity.

Firetrash will be most welcomed in world bosses.

I don’t see it being competitive cause it does not have proper defensive abilities nor good cd’s. Wish it was kit based like leaked, it would be much more complicated and better dps wise.

Yea next xpac we will get pets so our spirit weapons can rest in peace. Instead of balancing and buffing some core stuff and condi stuff they are giving us shouts v2. And some ppl are fine with it. They were fine with pre hot DH when it was pure garbage untill buffed pre xpac. Saddly this is like pre DH too but way worse.

Where is that viable full support spec? I didn’t really see it anywhere… oh right, only WvW.
It’s not about the fact that we have a support build in one game mode, it’s about the fact that other classes that have support builds can be supports in all game modes and do so efficiently. With Firebrand we might be viable burst supports in every aspect of the game.
And if it comes to long cast times, nobody forces you to use such skills without stability or inside of a thick battle.

Firebrand does not have anything better than chrono or druid does now. They can be support but can very deadly as a dps. I dont see firebrands deadly at all cause you are locked in tomes cause of 90 sec cd’s. Kits would be more interesting and better. But now its just guardian shouts v2.

Also, Guardian can spew at 28k DPS with burn build in raids and 30k similar with GS / Scepter + Torch power.

Guardian is just fine right now and it’ll be even better when Firebrand releases.

If you dont remember DH pre hot was trash and garbage. We then cried and you have spec what you play today! So say thans to us.

Firebrand is garbage with no blocks and big 90 sec cd’s and long cast times(not even kit based) it will be disappointment in competitive raids, pvp, wvw. Don’t cry later.

I would laugh my ass out when a good dh or berserker comes near firerand pop his unblockable skill and firebrand goes into f3 try to cast and dies trying to cast first spell but dies to warrior F1 in 2 sec.

Or even better deadeye pops from stealth shoots kilsshot and firebrand dies not even cast a spell.

Or even better weaver comes farting all his elements firebrand tries but fails to go into f3 and dies in painfull death by water/fire combo blast.

Or even better spellbreaker comes and destroy his f3 skill and firebrand dies well cause someone shred his tome.

I was hoping for them to be kits using them when you like with medium-small cd of their skills. But seing 90 sec cd and no proper defense block on f3 will be dissaster in any competitive pvp and wvw. Mantras are not good, they should be giving daze to enemies cause they are like shouts now.

This are not kits! They are tomes with big cd’s. Kits dont have cd’s and you can access them when you want.

Srry tomes are not kits. They are on 90 and 60 sec cd once you get into them. Kits do not have cd’s. And thats my disappointment. Tomes are nothing but virtues shouts. Wish they were real kits with proper cd’s we can rotate. Disappointed with firebrand totally. And mantras have 2 1/4 cast time also with 3 charges on 40 sec cd, and elite mantra is not that elite , RF is 3x times better saddly. Survivability is going to be bad in pvp and wvw.

Protection is vastly useful, on my ele I can get close to 100% protection uptime and survive zerg vs zerg at melee range.

Well I think hes right, chrono and druid can do much better support and heal than firebrand. Firebrand is shout 2.0. Lazy and garbage design compared to other specs. I dont see it being used in pvp cause of casting times and virtue cd and not even in wvw cause of same things. They hyped us tomes=kits but in reality they are not kits at all. Disappointed.

I was hyped for tomes as kits but now I see its plain simple shout build dropped into tomes on a 90 sec cd….what a lazy design. Giardian dev is plain garbage. Those of you hyped for raids are gonna get disappointed cause chrono can do buffs better anyways in raids, druid can heal better on 9 sec cd. Tomes are simply garbage as is. Other elites are way better and give something new. Srry but mantras does not give anything better than those skills we have on shorter cd.

I really hope the Renegade elite spec isn’t the Yet Another Garbage Support Spec it looks like. At least shortbow looks awesome. (And what would make it a garbage support spec is by being a support spec. They already have one – Herald. Having nothing but support Especs would leave the class lacking)

F2 has swiftness. And one of the mantras does too.

F3 #2 is an AoE taunt, #3 is basically mesmer’s Feedback, #4 is pulsing AoE resistance, #5 is protection, retal and +300 toughness. F3 does have a huge 90 sec cd, though.

So wait…wtf…F’s have a cd, and they call it kits…kids does not havr cd’s at all you can swap them anytime….god it gets worse every second. 90 sec cd…why dont they make them 180 sec cd. I am very disappointed right now.

Hm as I was saying celestial would be a thing to go with firebrand. Axe shield and some other weapon . Too bad hammer and gs would be again bad thing with this elite spec and I own those legendaries. Plus no passive movement :/ They should give us at least farting swiftness instead like herald. Farting only quickess feels disappointing.

Tome skills were good what ive seen, there is one big simbol farting ressistance, and some dome symbol and some heal symbol. But I cant see kitten from that streamer………god useless aurora.

You cant see nothing when she plays only attacks which you dont know what they do…pure disappointment. Hope elite spec were not that bad as it seems.

What I have seen it farts bleeding and burning but also farts quickness when you give alies aegis (it melts golems really fast tho).

Axe symbol is long casting and giving quickness too (I think)
Autoattack giving bleeds or burning.

Virtues are not bad (BUT I CANT SEE THEM CAUSE THAT STREAMER DIDNT RECORD ANYTHING VALUABLE !!!) but we get nothing on activation if you dont go into virtues tree(meh bad thing).

We are quickness farting bot now.

Mantras have 2 3/4 sec cast time 3 charges (40 sec cd??).
Elite mantra giving 1 stability and swiftness for 5 sec(5 sec….meh)
One mantra farts condies.
Heal mantra heals for 1400 or 2400 clears 2 condies ( I think)

Bad stream…..-hope elite spec is not that bad like this recorder stream.

Traits are something like-
1st row:
1 axe skills 20% reduced and 33% on attack giving bleed stack and daze on initial attack.
2 – healing gives quickness for 2 sec (meh trait)
3 – you get 3 more charges on tomes

2nd row-
1-mantras final attack(3rd attack) imobilizes foes (too bad many of the specs are immune to imob)
2- when you grant stability or aegis grant quickness for 2 sec (5sec cd)
3- tomes gives (burning, regen(6s) , aegis (5s))

3rd row
1-inflict slow (3s 1/2) on foes you disable or imobilize (5 sec cd) – meh …
2-didnt see cause stream is disappointment….
3- tome skills gain reduced recharge (33%), retain virtues passives while they are on cooldown

Only 2s on 12 sec cd? seems underwhelmed. Too bad she can’t record properly so we can’t see nothing else than her mouse randomly moving elsewhere except on skills and mantras. Her stream was pretty much disappointment.

But what I can tell that guardian will be going into celestial gear as a meta in wvw.

Still no passive movement.

We are best support but with lack of dps and heal. While other supports have better dps and heal thus we are not needed in raids. In next xpac we will have solid dps in DH solid support trough tomes and abysmal casting times of 2-4 sec and dead core guard which needs total remodel now. Every other elite spec get something new and guard is getting something that was already bad at the start. Maybe third expansion we get pets so spirit weapons can rest in peace.

That is devastating. Our skills are a JOKE compared to other classes. Didn’t think it was this bad. And as well all know it’s not like that we had the best spec last expansion and it gets toned down now, no, we get two times in a row the worst spec, definitely visually wise and probably again number wise. If you support them with your money as a Guardian main I don’t know why tbh.

Best at support? Which support are you talking about? Damage support? Druid has it. Healing support? Druid also has it. Also revenant and ele heal better. Quickness? Chrono has it. Only thing we have is buffs and revenant do that better than we do and even they are not in the meta.

You are mixing healing with support. Healing is healing, support is support.
Look at wvw and pvp, support guardian is always wanted. When a Druid you are instantly kicked out of raids in wvw and you should know why.
Our dps is not meta. And we have no healing spec.
Elite spec gives us another support spec saddly.

We had always a bad dev. DH was rushed and was crappy pre HoT so they buffed it but since then nerfed every patch. Now every new elite spec is dps oriented while we get support? Pretty much every elite spec will rekt us – maybe even new support necro…
We have good diverse support builds and we fart boons, what will this new elite give us more? We can give all buffs now, so whats something new and fresh in tomes??

You do realize that the only enemies that have ever been immune to burning is the vanilla destroyers right? And even then none of the destroyer bosses are immune to burning so idk why that’s the part you’re freaking out about.

I don’t get the balance of a support focused specalisation with a melee weapon. The two seem at odds. Also concentrating on burning their enemy, with the amount on condi cleanse on offer, relying on one condition for damage seems pointless too.

And problem is that balthazar is fire based boss so like 90% of those enemies gonna be fire immune? So whats the point of fire condi spec if you cant do condi dmg?

We have excellent support in base guard or combined with DH.

Considering how Guardian has been lacking in support especially when it comes to healing, we get out healed by Rangers and Elementals easily. For once I’m happy to see that we’re getting what appears to be a pure support build hopefully it just won’t get out shined by other classes

We need some blocking skills like engie and warrior shield skills plus some active healing and something.

Base guardian as a dps cant win vs nothing. DH improves healing dps and blocking ability I hope Firebrand will have better blocking and healing cause well, if you need to survive you need good defensive skills.

I am little disappointed, until we try it next week.

This is nothing more then a L2P issue.

Less crying, and more learning to play will do you more good then crying nerf. At a class that has nearly been gutted multiple times. All druid has for damage is their pet.

I think if ANet nerfed the pet by 30% then they should buff all non pet skills on the ranger by 30%. Other then that, they will do no damage.

They can keep the dmg. They need it vs some builds but I dislike how tanky the smoke scale dog thing is, even at 8 might stacks full burserker stats I land a pathetic 5k teir 3 eviserate.

Lol then you need to fix your build. Build less tanky on the status and more tanky via traits and utility skills. Because my Berserker normally hits people for 8k, 9k or more burst damage. Can run from fights and is tanky because logic.

Srry but amount of dmg they can do while wearing soldiers gear plus stealth and heal plus 1200 x2 if they play gs/staff escape options is just too much for a “healing” elite spec.

Berserker/warrior was nerfed last patch because they were brokenly OP.

Pet that can do 5-7k dmg while hes master is in soldiers gear is brokenly op.

So we heard guardian is going to get support spec next xpac, so lets imagine Guard next spec can heal 5k when he wants (hes getting kits for virtues) plus hes supportive elite spec plus it can dish 10k dmg burst with axe(like necro #2 burst skill) in soldiers gear you would be satisfied with it? Yea right.

I was fighting tanky druid yesterday, he was just doing autoattacks and pet dmg and he was just trolling me and resseting fights like every 20-30 sec while I was taking significant dmg from hes pet.
Druid spec is just broken in wvw.

They should nerf bet dmg by 30%. But hey they like passives like condies and pet dmg so I don’t think they will do anything.
