How about a Quaggan Punk or Metal band?
Imagine the vocals. :P

I mused that Jory wanted to animate her sister to get some answers out of her post-mortem or something like that. Which, for reasons, might seem a bit creepy to everyone involved.
Tarnished Coast Server
7/10 Nothing wrong with the last name, and the first name sounds untypical but probably popular anyway.
Lol. My Sylvari Mesmer is named Mirage Iboga.
:P Yes, its lore related, and no, I don’t care that its not Welsh.
Tarnished Coast Server
They are Sylvari, not dried out scarecrows. Bit of a difference.
Tarnished Coast Server
Throwing my name into the hat! This looks like it could be a fun thing to be a part of!
Tarnished Coast Server
Greatsword and Hammer both have cleave. That means it hits multiple targets in front of you.
Tarnished Coast Server
I would kill for mainhand dagger.

Hi OP,
You have too many points vested in Nature Magic/Vitality—and the last two traits in that tree do not serve your purpose—put those two points into Marksmanship/Power, and take Malicious Training giving your pets 50% condition duration increase.
I looked into this and I cannot seem to find the trait you mentioned. It’s on the Wiki, but its not on my hero panel, nor is it in the config tool.

So I was levelling my necro in Straights and I noticed something very odd. As I was standing next to a mining node, all of the sudden 4 people arrived out of nowhere, mined the nodes all simultaneously, then disappeared as if they had all mapped out together in unison.
I watched for a few moments, then another came along just a solo person and it happened again.
A few seconds later, two more.
And so on and so forth for about 3 minutes. No warning or anything. No running animations up to the node itself, just appearing out of nothing. All random classes, though primarily they were all humans. Under no other in game circumstances does this happen to me. During dragon events, I can be at max draw with max settings, and I can see quite a large gathering of people. I do not think it has anything to do with graphics culling or anything like that, or else I’d be experiencing the problem in other areas of the game.
I am running Windows 7, AMD FX 6300 6 core processor, on a Nvidia GTX 650 Ti. 8g RAM.
Is it my specs? I suspect its some sort of mass botting and this is how it manifests on my screen? However, I can only offer information from my own end of things. Can anyone clue me in on this? So far, I’ve only witnessed this in SoD. Not in anywhere else considered a popular farming zone.

I’ve always felt that necro minions were just basically shaped ectoplasm. They used to come from corpses in gw1, but now they come from nowhere. So, where does all the flesh and blood and parts come from? My guess is the ether.
Tarnished Coast Server
Testing these, and hybrids thereof. Who knows, maybe i’ll find the right amount of control im looking for somewhere in the middle. These are good suggestions, and I hope to get some mileage out of it.
Many thanks!

Hiya. I’ve decided for my own sake to split up my two rangers. I am making one pure power based builds, and the other more for condi/pressure builds.
I’ve also always liked the idea of condi rangers that were geared for soft controls like Crippled and Chill. I feel like it could be a pretty valuable addition to any havok team.
So, this is my preliminary build concept. I’m looking to steamline it a bit more, possibly. Any advice or critique is welcome.

There are about 80 threads on this already. If you can’t be bothered to click on the forums to find the last 2-5 pages littered with it, how can anyone expect you to click on any other link?

Yes, and the meta has always been an illusion. Which makes ‘everyone and their mother’ as its been coined, a follower.
This is why we can’t have nice things. Because people believe this is always and only one true way of doing things and getting things done quickly and efficiently. Its BS, and always has been.
What I think the current state of ‘Meta’ is merely what’s popular. It works, and it does what the paper says it does. It doesn’t suck. But it largely takes the human factor out of the equation. Awesome players > The One Meta.
Ever run into that person that runs pure Meta builds, but for the life of the group just can’t pull their own weight? Those are the situations where the illusion fails the most.
I feel that a certainly level of cunning and unpredictability towards one’s enemies is what makes a good thief a great one. It’s not something that can be entirely quantified on paper.
And this is not just about thieves either. Also, this:
You see, the meta is fine until it makes people close their minds towards new ideas. It’s all good running an optimal build, but when the meta becomes twisted to promote a mindset of ‘this is the best and if you got any new ideas, you’re wrong.’ it becomes a problem.

Very cool, thanks for sharing! I’d love if this got put in game.

Thieves. Not meant for easymode play. Try harder or whine to people who care about your problems. Thank you.

They’ll nerf him too. You wait.

The only vampires worth noting are the bloody, cunning, and evil kind. The rest are garbage.
Tarnished Coast Server
Tequatl is apparently a pokemans. He am evolved!
Tarnished Coast Server
They did this in DDO.

Its not just male medium armor users. My asura guardian has been nailed with it more than once.

Great info.
Tarnished Coast Server
I almost exclusively play staff in WvW when I run with groups. When I roam, I have other options available.
First thing I learned is that while fields and AOE’s are powerful, you are not the top of the food chain. From what I have observed, staff seems to be more devised around area pressure and denial. That is the hallmark of a support weapon. The staff Ele is not for ranged ganking, despite the nice big spikes every now and then. These spikes are deterrents, mostly. Even if you have terrible damage, the thought of being surrounded in red circles is not something people are likely to enjoy.
Every profession that has enjoyed ranged ganking has had their skills pruned against that sort of thing. Even with the availability of something near it can be hazardous and risky to field.
On some of your other points, all I can say is that your experience does not match mine at all. Some of the points are actually rather incorrect, and pretty much QQ.
Tarnished Coast Server
AOE’s still get through it. I wouldn’t rely upon it too heavily as an opener.
Tarnished Coast Server
But now, you can trigger the trait with the racial skill. Not all the races have a racial healing skill. Therefore, it is now more advantageous to play humans and sylvari as warriors based upon that one trait. Which is why im partly asking if that is going to lead to more and more racial advantages/cookie cutters.
Tarnished Coast Server
Another way of thinking: Could this be the rise of traits that affect racial abilities? OR, could this just be a fluke of offering up a bonus to various racial abilities/traits only to see them renege on it after remembering their earlier philosophy on how racial skills were handled?
Tarnished Coast Server
- Restorative Strength trait: Now functions with the sylvari Healing Seed skill and the human Prayer to Dwayna skill.
And I had some thoughts; Since engineers get traits for turrets/explosives and what not, can we have a reasonable expectation for to enhance our racial abilities as well? Didn’t Anet say something about racial skills not being too overly advantageous outside of their intent? There are racial abilities that include turrets, shouts, trap-like AOE’s, and other assorted fun stuff. In the realm of possibility/plausibility, what do you think else should follow suit?
Tarnished Coast Server
Its not a new thing. It’s been around since launch.
Tarnished Coast Server
I guess I have nothing to add then, because that makes no logical conclusive sense to me.
Tarnished Coast Server
I don’t see any boasts here. He’s only posting what he’s playing, and enjoys.
Tarnished Coast Server
I’m curious, but what does weapon choice have to do with legion choice?
Tarnished Coast Server
I kitten near fell outta my chair.
I expect nerfs incoming now.

I’ve been with these guys for going on 4 weeks now. Probably the best move I ever made in GW2. I have the honour of hanging out and laughing with some of the funniest goofballs I’ve ever met in any MMO.
If you consider joining us, Rollindat will make you a delicious sammitch. It hath been decreed by the powers that be.

My entire team in CoF and half my guild have been kicked offline for this issue and cannot log in.
WTF is going on?
Tarnished Coast Server
All i ask is to have turrets that hurt like turrets should.
Tarnished Coast Server
This made me smile. Well done.
Tarnished Coast Server
And here I was thinking that FT is more of a might stack based (both power and condi) pressure weapon.
Tarnished Coast Server
I’m a bit confused by your question. How did you level in the first place?
Definitely referring to dungeons/fractals. Would I really ask how to solo mobs in open world zones? Really?
Then might I suggest wording your question better? You coulda mentioned dungeons and fractals without blanketting all of PvE. I’m not going to automatically assume you’re an intelligent and bright human being, based upon a first-draft poorly worded question. You know, kinda like how it is in real life.
You can level up in WvW and Crafting too. It’s not that uncommon.

I’m a bit confused by your question. How did you level in the first place?
Tarnished Coast Server
After all the one-upmanship and 20 different ways to achieve the same goal… I remembered this pic.
Tarnished Coast Server
I still love my ele, and its rapidly becoming my main. I’ve played and deleted a bunch, out of frustration during the levelling game mostly, or just didn’t like the way they looked. Two of my ele’s were deleted after level 50.
It feels a lot more robust when your 80 and full exotics/ascended with a proper rotation and purpose. I even had the exact build that Anet kittened all to hell, but I literally swapped one trait and I was good to go. No drastic changes at all, save that I lost 10 seconds on my RTL recharge when used as an escape. No biggie. If I bother to use it as an escape, I can use those extra seconds to pick out another juicy target. (Hint: Don’t blow your wad all in one go, you’ll live longer).
Still one of my fave professions of all time.

Considering we have the primitive and the complex side of ranged ballistics, but have lost the middle in terms of progressive technology. Why no crossbow???
Tarnished Coast Server
Dasorine is correct: There is not such thing as a best race for any profession. It’s really about aesthetics, and what you envision, and what story line you feel might be the most interesting. Anything outside of that is someone trying to sell you something.
Tarnished Coast Server
I swapped one trait and was good to go.
I dunno what everyone is filling their diapers about. Arrow Carts are the real killer these days anyway.

rubs hands together
this should be good.
I gotta admit however, path 1 is not very hard. Once you learn the dance you can do it with almost any group composition, in under 20 minutes. It doesn’t surprise me that it can be done with rangers/ranger pets either. I am however, pleased someone di a video on it.
EDIT: now that I have seen it, I am still not really all that surprised, but I am definitely entertained. Well done. XD

I work as a chef in real life, and some of the components of these are just beyond reasonable. Now, I realize this is just a game but think about this: There are flavour palettes in this world that can’t barely handle a half of a jalapeno in their meal. Why on earth would you need a double digit of ghost peppers in one item?
Really destroys a suspension of disbelief here. Not that there aren’t a hundred other ways it gets ruined. But this one got my attention specifically.
Tarnished Coast Server
I suppose its born of the same mentality of how I can put bleeds on Ghosts in Ascalon. Sense; it makes none.
Tarnished Coast Server
Itchy…. tasty….
Tarnished Coast Server
I’m not falling for this. Even a sympathetic hug from a thief makes me wary. :P
