You can’t
There are are a lot of ppl at the leather farms Ive been at, which makes me wonder if there are enough ppl doing the main map events
65 hides from the leather farm got me 50 thick leather and 5 hardened leather.
I think it’s this E character.
E wants to save Kryta. Lazarus has no interest in Kryta, so it would be odd if it turned out that way
You need tens of thousands of flax for the Guild Hall upgrades and scribes use a fair amount too. Combined with the extreme rarity and limited availability of nodes as they rotate through thr black lion chests, you get your high price.
Prob best to sell it imo
You just need to remake the elixir again as car as I remember. The elixir tomes out at reset which is annoying. If you need the ingredients list; https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Thaw_Elixir
5 jade shards.
Thanks for the heads up Ayrilana.
Can’t say I am a fan of this idea. It locks the farm behind those who have access to ls3ep4 only and doesn’t benefit the wider playerbase. Better drops and salvage rates were the answer imo.
If supply increases then the wider playerbase benefits (or suffers) whether or not they have access to LS3-4.
I understand the theory here, but these are core basic mats which everyone should have the option to farm directly or buy directly. They should be treated like the other core mats. Rarer, prestige mats would be more appropriate for niche group farms.
What I don’t understand why not just have the currency tradeable for the magic instead of being salvaged? Currency goes in the wallet – it is literally why they spent time designing this QoL feature.
Anyone notice the Lord Faren illusion in the manor?
Can’t say I am a fan of this idea.
Neither am I, as it is impossible to solo-farm (unless you manage to run through in a hurry, but even then you are bound to die eventually, and the nearest waypoint is on the opposite side of the map).
In their defence it is meant to be group farmed.
But, that’s the big issue I have with it. Why is one quarter of the core mats farm locked behind a group? Metal, wood and Cloth are not. Leather should not be the exception. This was a design decision I cannot understand how it got approved.
Once I got the adds out of the way, I got it under control for the final half by cicrling the room when his shield was up, thrwoing shards at him. It seemed you needed split second timing on the mastery or he’d knock you down.
I liked the idea behind the mechanics, but a lot of the fight I spent constantly being stunned/knocked about in a tight space against almost unavoidable attacks from the boss and adds. Needs scaling for 1 player rather than 3.
It was an awesome room though. His heads followed you where you went…!!!
Thanks for the heads up Ayrilana.

It was an episode which occasionally felt very plodding and the story step where you just fill a bar by doing map stuff felt lazy.
Then I played the final instance and it blew me away. The final fight felt way too chaotic and tuned for more than 1 person, but in essence it was a decent mechanic in a brilliant room and finished off after with a very intriguing twist. The dialogue from the start of the final instance was excellent – from the dungeon joke, to Canach, really enjoyed it all.
Closure of a an arc felt premature, especially as it didn’t really make any sense to close it off this early, but at least a loose end is tied off for a change. Map was formulaic, but good fun. Not sure i;d repeat play it often mind you.
Leather farming area was a bad idea. It felt like we;ve gone back to the old MMO days a bit and locking a poi in a group area will prove unfair to many. Simpler would be to improve drop and salvage rates all round.
Thoroughly enjoyed the episode as it grew to an excellent ending, I’d feedback that solo bits need tuning to solo players better and curency needs to be in the wallet without a single exception. We’ve fed this back enough now for this not to be still cropping up. Also, please stop with the 1 point per achievement. Can we get back to 5 again so we feel rewarded?

this just has to prove the theory that a serious weapon will have a silly counter part and a silly weapon will have a serious weapon.
I don’t necessarily agree with this.
Bifrost and Nevermore are both pretty serious and I like both of them.
Chuka and Champawat and the Dreamer are both silly IMO. So I really don’t think your analogy really works 100%. There do seem to be quite a few that follow that pattern however.
Chuka is as serious as Nevermore is though.
I really like it. I am extremely tempted, but it’s that or our Guild Hall right now
Curious about this too. Perhaps it is on the new map and we have to discover it
This is why we do not and prob wont have dyeable weapons

I hope someone was playing “it’s not unusual” on an instrument as well!

Jormag the Mighty
He roams through the Northwest,
He never needs a place to rest.
With The Claw as his sidekick,
fighting with her icy stick
Causing chaos. killing power,
He’ll then need an icy shower.
He’s Jormag
He’s Jormag the mighty.
Jormag the Mighty,
He’s really icy,
Everybody likes him,
‘Cause he’s got a funny grin,
He’s Jormag

They have confirmed it isn’t launching today.
No worries, it’s not the end of the world and outside of your control
Cheers for the heads up!
It could also mean an extra round of lucky envelopes, which I wont be displeased over.
If the patch is delayed much longer do we get another easy daily and some more Lunar envelopes to buy?
In less than an hour and a half, yes
Ha! Love it
I am fairly certain Mea was being tongue in cheek and not serious about being late to a specific schedule..
I definitely didn’t want to start a drama. :P I just got a huge bucket of Celebrations for the update and REALLY want to eat my chocolate already! LOL. XD Unfortunately, we will have to wait more. See the official announcement on Twitter. I THINK I’M GONNA EAT THE TWIX WHILE WAITING! -squee-
I’ll take the bounties. They always get left in my house which means I end up with more chocolate
muahahahha
XD “kitten -l-o-w-l-y” without the space becomes a kittened word, I thought Gaile was really angry or something XD
I just assumed they replaced the hamster with a kitten called lowly
Hamsters to cats…engine upgrade confirmed!
;D
At least it sounds like they do have power again, they just have to recover from the interruption and/or get the last minute work done that was frozen out thanks to the outtage.
I do wish we could get an estimate on how long the delay was, like, just an hour? Five hours? But I understand they never like to give a time frame as any deviation causes flames.
Jormag’s influence is spreading…

THere’s an argument to be had pve was far, far more grindy at launch. We had no champ loot, we had no map rewards, no magic find, no abundance of rares and exotics to get ectos from.
I remember going for legendary just after Lost Shores and it was so much worse than it is now.
That said, yes there is some bad grind in places, but I do think it is less so than it was.
As for levelling – you can still do it anyway you choose. Nothing has changed here whatsoever. Sure I don’t like the changed levelling system either, but how you you actually level hasn’t been in any way downgraded.
As for being less about exploration, a lot of that is because any MMO game loses that after a while. I thoroughly enjoy the game, but it’s lost its sense of wonder and exploration – and that’s just down to excessive play on my part.
And I think this merging of Dragon powers thread they are running, might give them an opportunity to bring the DSD inland as well.
I guess we will one day see. I hope UW content isn’t dead forever. It’s such a shame they moved away from such an opportunity.
I’m going off memory, but I think this right.
You are largely there already. Eventually you end up with a large tiger climbing gym thingy and ofc their bed in the den. I am unaware of any method to bring players into it with you. though
At some point, you will gain the ability to have them on your back and summon as you will. Completing everything by chance ends up with various clickable journals and baby books to send you to the den. You can share these with alts for multiple access. I think I 3-4 clickable journals that I have spread on different toons. They can also use those items to add any of the 3 cubs to your back.
Collection 4 is the final bit before making the legendary itself using all the gabillion other mats. Personally I found it a great fun collection to complete.
If this is your first character, I would highly advise using a slot to level a toon up and play through naturally to learn the game. The boost is more optimum for Veteran players who want to skip the levelling process and try out one of the new expansion specs.
If you are adamant on starting from where you are, I would start in the map you are on and explore, do the early story and proceed from there. Maps downscale you here to keep everything relevant so you wont be too overpowered.
Your gold cannot be stolen from you from in game sources. If you had 5g and now you don’t it can only have been spent somehow, whether it’s through a vendor in SW where you may not have noticed, salvage kits (do you use the silver o matic one at all?), the trading post etc
You can also lose money by bad luck through the lunar festival divine envelopes.
edit: See below for possible solution
I didn’t think it cost to use the salvage kits. I mainly used the black lion one and then the fine.
The gemstore specific ones use small amounts of copper. The ones you use do not beyond the initial purchase price.
Not anymore – repairs are now free. Not that you would have spent 4g on repairs mind you
I think the bandit that charges you gold to turn all the mobs in the bandit camp neutral (north of Indigo) actually takes your coin.
That is actually true and it’s easy to not realise you have spent the gold

The third and middle thread have less posts and probably sum it up for you quicker.

- What are the red rings that regularly appeared around you during the boss fights? Is that related to later fractals?
It’s the mistlock instability “social awkwardness”.
Dunno if the wiki is up-to-date but at least it should explain the mechanic:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mistlock_Instability:_Social_Awkwardness
Ok thanks, that explains it
Very impressive to watch. One probably obvious question;
- What are the red rings that regularly appeared around you during the boss fights? Is that related to later fractals?
- Not all individuals are trained to fight or use magic, though all can innately use magic.
- NPCs are not bound by mechanics of armor and weapon restrictions. NPCs can use whatever they want.
As such, I would argue Caudecus simply doesn’t have a profession. He isn’t the kind of person to fight himself, but to use others to fight his battle. He doesn’t seem to be trained in magic – if he was, he would have used it against us in Episode 1 rather than just ordering others around. And he more than likely isn’t trained in any but the most basic of swordplay (the kind of swordplay you’d see in official noble dueling – in other words, a mockery of actual combat; kids play).
So his profession? IMO: “None.”
fair enough, he propably carries a sword and gun to kill people as he runs away.
but I do think he would be a better duellist than FarenI don’t know, with all of his a jungle experience, Lord Faren might be a better dueling ????
his jungle experience?
last I remember we did his training for him
The game’s engine could not adequately convey the sheer prowess and awesomeness of Farens skills, so it dumbed the gameplay down so we could feel more a part of the story and action.
I’m pretty certain Faren laid the finishing blow on the Mouth of Mordremoth, but it was just off camera so we missed it.
Worked for me about a week/week and a half ago so the recipe itself should be fine
Chak Gerent seems to running more regularly than normal on EU servers, but even then, the LFG advice above is what will guarantee you a decent map. It’s the same with most of the HoT maps. They seem empty, but that’s only because so many are full and the megaservers are putting you in emptier ones.
Not a surprise really and if a wait means more high quality fractals, then that’s a good thing. Nightmare was probably the best “new” fractal since the fractals launched and Chaos has now really grown on me.
Precursors can only ever be crafted once and they were deliberately designed this way.
You can however gain the core precursors (ie not the HoT ones) via various other methods;
- Mystic Forge
- Ultra rare Open World/Boss/Instance drops
So yes, you can only craft Leaf of Kudzu once
Going into the HoT maps is suicide if you are a new player and very confusing story wise since you jump about 3 story arcs.
I would advise levelling the old fashioned way – this game downscales to the map level so you will always be around people in the maps (all maps are relevant in this game not just level 80 ones). You will also learn your profession better.
The levelling process is fairly quick, so it’s not a grind on your first char- I;d personally save the level 80 up for an alt once you are familiar with the game.
Destroying DR also means re-designing Wintersday and other festivals. That would seem unlikely given how stretched they are with other things and how little festivals generally advance because of it.
A damaged DR seems likely, a destroyed DR I can’t see happening.
I think all festivals deserve to have music optionally played in the Guild Hall via an upgrade. Wintersday and Halloween have some great music which would help improve the atmosphere in the Guild Halls during each season.
