Never trust a Charr!
You can dye the mask and the eyes if that helps? I’ve done it with mine although to a lesser extent since I was reasonably happy with it as is
I concur. This is how Current Events should be. – a small story, with a mail to kick off and indicators as to where to go and then trackable achievements.
I am enjoying working out these locations myself!
so any news on this? it’s supposed to be today, right?
Yes, today is the 22nd. Its only 830am Pacific right now. Normal patches don’t roll out for at least another half hour, generally speaking. So, look for at after that point.
thanks for the info

Rafflesia Requiem works well I think
I just recently bought the game hoping there will be more expansions of something but I haven’t read anything of the such. I’m very curious.
They have stated they are working on a expac if that helps.
I would also like to see a rough roadmap, but it’s not going to happen. WHich is a shame, because it can be difficult for players to continuously invest themselves in an evolving game like an MMO when they have no idea what is ahead. I’ve just picked up Lotro again entirely because of their new year roadmap which shows a lot of exciting things ahead. That’s the sort of thing that brings back lapsed players.
Sometimes you also have to zone for the nodes to reset. Flax resets at the same time as the daily, but you need to leave and return for the flax to reappear.
All maxed (incl Scribe) plus hunter twice due to not realising something about legendary weapon crafting so ended levelling a second unnecessarily. I kinda enjoyed the crafting process, but it was partly the achievement points which encouraged me through.
It seems the Devs created the Centaur Camp as fun content for groups (Guilds, zergs, etc.) and then the leather acquisition was attached to it. At least, that’s what I took out of the interview.
My guess that whole north-eastern part of the map was supposed to be some kind of grand meta-event with a world boss on top. But then livestory team #1 run out of time/resorses and someone came up with an idea: “Hey, lets just put lots of elite mobs there. And we can give them leather drops so players would shut up about high leather prices”
With a bit of rework, that would have been an interesting addition. I understand why they are avoiding big metas for these maps, but this idea has merit of making the area more interesting and would be more in keeping with the innovation Anet used to be more keen to get behind.
It feels a little bit like we’ve dialled the clock back to earlier years of MMO gaming with “farming zones”. That could have easily been better disguised using events or a meta and still contained the leather farm if they wanted it.
Gerent is one of my favourites. It has a nice balance of not being too difficult, but still requiring organisation for success. The animation (like most bosses) is exceptional on the Gerent as well.
Scarlet on the Breachmaker was fantastic fun. Really is a shame it was so limited time.
Marionette too not only because it set up Vinewrath, Gerent, Auric and any other lane based metas that came after, but also because it was near perfect in terms of balance.
Mai Trin wins it in fractals for me.
My top replayable story boss goes to Shadow of the Dragon at the end of S2. That was a fight I enjoyed solo and in a group.
I absolutely agree. My only criticism is there sometimes isn’t enough new tracks – eg the Bitterfrost map had music which didn’t fit the dangerous atmosphere of the area.
When they do make new tracks they have almost without exception been excellent, so it’s one thing I particularly listen out for each episode.
I notice that people have been mentioning seasons. I have no idea what you’re referring to here. Is it another DLC like the whole Heart of Thorns thing? Because that’s the only one I’ve seen advertised. I thought I had completed the main story, do I need any of this additional stuff for the things I’ve already done to make sense?
Yes. HoT is not an independent story, it flows directly on from season 2 which flowed on from the now discontinued season 1 which took place after the personal story.
Season 2, like season 3 after HoT, is available from the gemstore. Episodes were free if you logged in during their launch window.
Reading the original dev post it seems like a fix to a problem that doesn’t exist?
I’m on EU, I’ve noticed no drop except a chat lag which went when I rebooted my router.
What Rauderi said. It’s just Anise getting one last insult in of Caudecus, nothing more.
That was excellent!
Where is Dorian alive in the story? Do you mean Saul? Because he was specifically not killed off in GW1 and it was always believed he was alive somewhere. His fate was unknown.
I’m not sure what retconning has been added. A lot of the lore enthusiasts are saying how well things have been tied up and correlated together.
Talking – It’s always going to be a balance. More and better dialogue has been a frequent request from the community, so from that p.o.v. they have delivered from the feedback. Not everyone will approve though. Personally I welcome more – this episode felt rather light.
Expansion. Yes one is being worked upon. No we don’t know when it is coming although they specifically said they didn’t want to wait 3 years like HoT. They will release info once they are ready and when spoilers wont be forthcoming (I doubt any info will be prior to end of S3).
I vaguely remember them talking about new pvp maps, but it was part of a Reddit AMA, so I can’t remember the details.
Legendary Armour is hoped to be ready for episode 5. Not guaranteed, but that appears to be their aim based on the AMA.
Next balance change is due before episdoe 5 (presumably once they have fully analysed the pvp season data and made appropriate adjustments and QA).
I’m surprised people are upset over this, really. The story told in Bastion of the Penitent is totally tangential to anything that is going on in mainland Tyria, and is really just tying up a loose end from GW1. It’s a cool story, don’t get me wrong, but it has to be. Fighting a bunch of nameless, pointless, loreless encounters in a box devoid of features would be terrible. They have to have something compelling, but they’re being nice by not having it be main encounter stuff. If they had bosses like Caudecus or Lazarus in the raid, then I’d agree with you, but everything we’re seeing here is minor and side-note at best.
As a non raider, I agree with this.
In a game were surviving depends mostly upon dodging, giving us a tiny room full of undodgeable AOE seems a bad design decision. And, when you’ve died a hundred times and have no armour left, making us play through the whole preamble stuff again just to get to that last fight is harsh. I’ve spent too long on it already. I’ll wait for the nerf. Not impressed.
It got nerfed last night
That’s what the patch notes said but today I tried again and the Jade Armor is still in the last fight and the boss hits with the special attack without the tells showing and with only a fraction of a second to hit the ‘-’. key. It took me two hours, several repair canisters and about a million deaths to finally beat him. I spent 5 minutes just lying dead whilst the NPCs oh so S-L-O-W-L-Y killed the Jade. It’s a story instance for kitten’s sake.
Yeah im hearing mixed things about the nerf. I know some genuinely got through it, not easily, but without dying. And others are saying it barely feels different. Ill be back in game next week, ill see how an alt does if it is still the same by then.
Open community run it once or twice a day on the EU. They have voice chat to get you in easily since they have ways to get their own map, but you can sometimes get in by luck or lfg.
I think many maps are out of scale, so things squish or expand based on where you are fir gameplay reasons in a map. We know from Ghosts of Ascalon, it can take many days to cross the maps on foot though, so that gives a very rough idea of the area from Ebonhawke to Ascalon. I dont think that scale is representative across everywhere though.
I wonder though, if the idea is to enter a cleared raid, perhaps we could pay an npc a significant gold sum to access the area. The npc could be a mercenary placeholder who had cleared it prior.
Maybe 200g or more with the npc appearing maybe 1-2 weeks post raid patch
The idea isn’t to enter a cleared raid. It isn’t even about hard versus easy. The idea is to provide the experience of being the hero in this particular story to PVE players regardless of their favorite playstyle, gear or experience with the game.
I realize that some don’t really care about that – that a WoodenPotatoes video is enough for them. That isn’t true of everyone and many are looking for a deeper raid experience without having to compromise on how they currently enjoy their characters and the game.
My apologies, I meant if it is the devs intention for us to use cleared raids as access to story lore for non raiders then add in my idea.
I fully appreciate many will want a more fuller experience than that.
Ignore the first pillar and jump round the furthest ledge. You can glide straight onto the last pillar from there.
Forgive my ignorance, but remind me why the unseen struck their followers down. Wiki indicated for seeing their true power but surely the mursaat want their powers known?
Im sure its obvious but gw1 is too far back for me to remember the details

As a non raider i dont really feel screwed over. GW1 raids had decent stories and i remember no complaints back then. If anything, players are clamouring for their return, witha great deal of that attraction down to the story.
Ive caught up with the raid story via youtube and wiki which has satiated me. I can understand wanting further in game sources for the story and I think bloodstone fen recapped it all excellently with previous raids.
If I really wanted the experience, Id prob go and raid.

I don’t know if this has been said before, or not, but why just have cats that you can add to your home instance? That only really feeds into one group of people, cat people. I personally wouldn’t spend even 1 copper to get these cats in my home instance, but if I were given the opportunity to add puppies, or full grown dogs to my home instance I would blow through whatever gold it took! Please?!
Don’t worry, one day we will set sail to the South, for there are no cats in Cantha and the streets are paved with cheese So set your mind at ease!
Keep the dream alive!

They’re being rounded up into one place for a greater purpose.
I wonder who the mastermind behind such a scheme could be…
Discussion about that going on here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lore/Wait-wasn-t-Caudecus-going-Spoilers/first#post6490990
“Lazarus” doesn’t wear shoes either………
128 hides got me 9 hardened leather. Def not worth the time investment for the t6 leather
This fight needs to be be detuned more. It’s absolutely awful. A small room full of explosions and that jade construct while having to throw crap at the boss? Who thought this would be enteraining?
I thought the Jade was removed with the patch?
Ypu don’t equip a glider. You need to have trained the relevant mastery.
- complete the first bit of the HoT story
- assign xp to the gliding mastery in the hero panel (or click on the xp bar)
- once the bar is complete, click on the unlock icon next to the mastery to spend mastery points to be able to use gliding.
- When in the air, press jump to glide
If you want to change skins, open your Hero Panel, go to glider skins and select any that are unlocked
The new episode has access to a rug and some paintings once the story is done if that helps.
He was very much the star of the episode.
Thanks for the change. I muddled through on my Warrior, but some of my alts were waiting to see if there was a nerf incoming,
Hopefully these things will be picked up prior to launch going forward, but great to see such a quick fix.
You can use the portal from both directions. Harati is the right pronounciation I think.
It is one way. I exited to Harathi, but could not return to Lake Doric from the same side.
Again, increased supply does benefit (or adversely affect) the broader player base.
If prices on the TP go down due to the farm then even non HoT owners can benefit.
Yes it does and I am not disputing that at all, but that still does not balance acquistion out. Ore, wood and cloth benefit from this, plus easier to obtain by direct farming across multiple sources without restriction of such gating. This solution does not put leather on an equal footing with the other 3 types.
If the leather farming was in more accessible areas, it would have achieved that better, altho I maintain better leather salvage rates would be a better solution.
Yes I feel like I missed something here too.
Thanks for the heads up Ayrilana.
Can’t say I am a fan of this idea. It locks the farm behind those who have access to ls3ep4 only and doesn’t benefit the wider playerbase. Better drops and salvage rates were the answer imo.
I don’t get why such a benefit should be accessible to people that don’t have HoT access … what is your logic behind such a thing needing to benefit everyone?
They are are core crafting mats and should be as accessible as cloth, wood and ore. There is no reason for these core mats to be harder to get for those without ep4 access. If they were HoT mats, prestige mats or equiv then that would make sense, but leather should be on par with the other 3 types in terms of how players are able to obtain them.
They assume mean they can’t go on an alt without doing chapter 1 first or a protal scroll. They want to be able to walk in w/o either requirement.
So long as you’ve done Chapter 1 on a character, why not open it up for the account? Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that how the map for Part 3 works?
No idea. I’m assuming based on what the OP is saying
The Logan painting seems smaller than the one in his bedroom
what?
what is this about now?
the portal
to lake doric
is right there
in divinity’s reachLike, literally all you have to do is listen to jennah’s blabbering and and GO THERE..
come one.. you can’t seriously be this lazy?

One does not simply.. walk into lake Doric..
The problem with the poll is that it is black and white. The game needs both types for variety, so yes I like metas, but only in small doses. Too many meta maps is bad long term.
Is this a mini you’re talking about or these cute little cubs who are not minis?
The cats in the home instance you gain throughout Tyria, specifically the Bitterfrost Frontier snow leopard kitten, is what they are referring to.
There was something in the AMA about UI upgrades for things like achievements. It isn’t on the cards since they are focused on content not features
Also aren’t the mobs here particularly dangerous that you might as well organize a squad to deal with them?
Many maps are doing just that and advertising via lfg. I suspect that is the intended outcome
