And if you hover over your achievment points in the Hero Panel, it will give the breakdown of how much daily/monthly you have earned so you can check whether you hit the cap.
This might be the reason – From the WIki
“Current in the description may be a misnomer. The percentage increase is applied to the base condition damage of the player prior to modifiers from effects and other sources.”
We will get more fractals – this Arkk story is far from finished. I would be shocked if we got it next week. It is too soon after the last fractal and they;ve had plenty of other stuff to work on I expect.
Maybe next episode or after (assuming there is a 6)
Have you a source of this, or is it just a theory?
The Dragons pre-dating the Gods and the Humans? That is established lore from various in game places and you can delve into the Wiki for further info.
At an unknown time after the writing of the Tome of Rubicon but prior to 786 BE, the Six Gods arrived on the world and brought the humans with them, but from where is not known. Original human legends claimed that the Six Gods created the world, and the charr also have legends of Melandru creating the world, though this has in recent decades been realized to be false. Their age is also unknown, but it is known that the current pantheon as a whole is not the first, and that they have not been on Tyria as long as the Elder Dragons.
Or did you mean a source for something else?
We’re trotting out the old ones again. It’s really becoming a boar…
Doesn’t he get a mesmer to portal him out at the end of episode 1? Would seem strange to do that if he could portal himself?
As a non-raider, I have no issues with these being exclusive to raiders and I say that from the POV of there being other skins I really want from raids too.
If you are willing to pay, aren’t there groups who sell runs to help with this sort of thing?
The time is now (sorry lol).
And it is GLORIOUS!

HoT sale on until next Tuesday if still interested
Go go go!
I very much doubt they’d overhaul DR completely, but it would be in keeping with the Living World for it to become damaged and stay damaged for a while. DR has changed slightly since launch due to the addition of the Pavilion, so other small revamps are feasible.
Having dynamic, changing and vibrant cities is exactly what a fantasy World should have, especially in Tyria where so much carnage occurs.
Is the info being emailed out this week as well, for both ep4 and the half price offer?
Half price HoT…interesting!
So presumably this is the end of the White Mantle storyline (at least for now). And it looks like Divinity’s Reach is the location for the final battle which I have to admit I didn’t see coming, as much as it seems obvious.
Phew! I’m on holiday the week after..
Not seeing a new map, so maybe this is quite a beefy episode in which case. We do seem to be all over the place with this Season. It’ll be interesting to see how everything comes together.
I didn’t see a new map in the video but at the bottom of the article there’ a screenshot of a town which I don’t recognise. Of course that could be related to the raid, but to me it looked more like an open-world style area.
Is that pic 3? Yes, have to say I don’t recognise it either
I haven’t raided, but I don’t feel I’ve missed out on anything important. Anything that is background lore is covered by the NPC’s in Bloodstone Fen.
The trailer is up

Which is fair enough, although the exatc words were;
" I agree with everyone who expressed opinions in the past that it’s very helpful to know the extent of a festival, and it’s my belief we’ll be more forthcoming about end dates in the future"
It seems reasonable to conclude lunar would fall under that imo.

There’s this post that someone referenced from the patch notes although I couldn’t find the exact wording.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2wfe8z/when_is_the_lunar_new_year_event_end/coqaphq/
Yeah, I read the patch notes and that quote isn’t in it
During Wintersday it was announced we would be getting end dates for future festivals, which they did for Wintersday after years of us asking. For some reason, they immediately dropped that idea again.
I really don’t understand why they don’t put an end date either in patch notes or on the release page for these things anymore (although last I lokked, Lunar wasn’t even on the release page!).
Dragon Stand completions are common, the issue is if you don’t get onto the map at reset or taxi into a lfg map, you will never see it running and the map will be empty.
Use the /wiki event timer to coordinate when you enter the map
None of this info is known because it hasn’t been announced yet. We are almost certainly not going to get any info until after LS3 finishes.
I’m not generally a fan of pvp. I’m not really skilled enough to enjoy it nor am I motivated enough to pursue improving myself in that game mode. I’m not adverse to doing it on occasion mind you, maybe for the reward tracks or just to add variety, but generally I’ll avoid it.
WvW I could never truly gel with. I do dabble in the odd EOTM or zerg wars, but only as a means to an end (currency for guild hall, gift of battle, certain reward tracks). I had hoped for either a decent siege warfare game or something as excellent and accessible as GW1 Alliance Battle (the only form of MMO pvp I’ve ever enjoyed). It has never been either.
Most of it can be attributed to a skill ceiling I’m not prepared to break, in the same way that raids are. I never complain about the existence of these modes, but I’m not going to push myself to learn meta builds or cooldown timings or read enemy attacks. I play nowadays to mess around and have fun, rather than challenge myself beyond necessary.
That post was committed with a lack of caffeine, and I just did some observations. You’re right. I’ll make an edit post-haste.
No problems, most people are instructed to keep out of my until after my 2nd coffee, so I understand the sentiment
Thanks for the advice!
I can understand why the balances are coming between LS updates though, given it gives time to analyse things post-pvp season and also doesn;t distract from actual content. They clearly have access to better metrics then we do for timing balance updates.
On topic (and assuming any further comms will be added), when will we be gettiong a blog post about the next episode? I miss all the preview stuff we used to get.
Depth blur adds an extra effect to distant objects and causes more GPU workload. If you’re seeing FPS drops, I’d advise turning it off.
It’s the other way round. When it is off, I noticed the camera was slightly less smooth when turning.
Hi all,
This release will include the promised fix to AB multi-looting. The fix is simple: you can loot each of the great and grand chests once each time you complete the meta, once per map cycle.
This release will also include a new, challenging group-farming spot for leather.
Mo
Both of these are good news to me, but now I’m wondering what the leather farming spot is. Kill a champion dolyak?
DiabloGW2 cow level confirmed.Release the cowtapults!
Sounds like they’ve beefed things up at least
Cool. Will Thick leather remain 4 per square? Or will be brought back down to 3?
Thanks for the update/communication
I understood you needed HoM and 1 tapestry to actually access any of the rewards though.
Kilroy Stonekin, weapons – barehanded ala Fronis Irontoe’s Lair
- Brawling Combo Punch
- Brawling Headbutt
- Brawling Hook
- Brawling Jab
- Brawling Uppercut
Invoking him would bring forth his great battlecry;
“Kiiiiillroooooy Stoooonekiiiiin!”
The Dragons were on Tyria many tens of thousands of years before the Human Gods arrived remember.
It increases the amount of work being done in the rendering pipeline, probably mostly on the GPU side. This may reduce performance, though probably not by a great deal.
Mostly, it’s supposed to change the visual effect of distant objects. You should select it, or not, to personal taste. Me, I like the effect, but I can see why folks wouldn’t.
Yeah this was what i thought, i just appeared to get the opposite effect from it being on.
Is ticking depth blur supposed to improve or decrease performance of the game? I’m noticing it slightly improve camera scrolling, but I was under the impression depth blur had a minor negative impact on performance.
Discussion of future Legendaries/ls3 episodes
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Randulf.7614
The only limitation that AN has is to finish the Gen 2 Legendaries within the span of this expansion, since they are a core feature of Heart of Thorns. While they do NOT necessarily have to be tied to living story 3 chapters, my concern is with how many are left, with how long the delay is in between weapons and the time left in this expansion before the next one. There are roughly 11 weapons left to release and with lets say a 2 month gap in between, it will take almost 2 years to finish if not more.
They can still include them when the next expac arrives if they’re not finished by then, but they would have to be free for those with HoT who aren’t getting the expac
Yeah T6 are much easier to get now and the TP prices have halved since I last made a legendary last year.
- Open world drops in the LS3 maps are pretty good for T6 mats
- Map rewards make farming so much easier
- You can convert 1 laurel to 3 random t6 mats (not lodestones though)
- The item you get at the end of HoT can generate lodestones and other t6 mats dailyAdding them in as dungeon rewards might work, or it might trivialise their gain and crash their prices even further (which is good or bad depending on your perspective I guess).
Are you talking about:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ley-Energy_Matter_Converter
?
Yes, although I mis-remembered how you obtain the item. It’s not guaranteed or a major source, but trophy bags and heavy crafting bags do appear fairly regularly.

Lunar festival is based on a Canthan festival. The dragon, ram and monkey were also based on canthan legends in prior years.
Sorry, it’s not hinting at anything like what you want it to be

If a GW3 does come out, it will be likely well over 10 years away. MMO’s take many years to make and GW2 has plenty of life in it.
You are safe
The screaming isn’t a bug, it is part of the story
She’s been appearing randomly since the start of episode 3 (per applicable character). Are you seeing her more frequently or just noticing?
There’s a theory that they do a sale every odd numbered episode. if that theory is true (which I doubt), then it would be episode 5 which is roughly just under 3 months away by current pacings.
You are more likely to find sooner sales from approved retailers listed on the GW2 site.
I think you need access to hall of monuments and possibly one tapestry. Im not 100 percent on that thougj
Coincidentally, every time i’ve been at Gerent and a full map failed or succeeded Vayne was not on the map.
I actually really like this boss event, it is one of my favs. I do think it will eventually be better scaled, but i think they will wait until they monitor how a new expac affects the population spread.
Maybe until then, the asura should project an image of Vayne in the central chamber and we could monitor the success rate? That would include EU too for fairness.

I googled some old threads which were inconclusive. It could simply be because 250 years have passed and naturally currencies change, esp as Tyria has become more inclusive of multiple races now. When platinum was a thing, we werent trading with Asura, Norn until late in the GW1 era and especially not with Charr. Human influence has also heavily waned. Standardising to a new currency makes sense.
I have vague recollections of platinum still being mentioned in game by npcs though. Perhaps platinum currency has massively inflated and is very rare to obtain now.

It’s free to play with heavy restrictions. Those who bought it are compensated by not having those restrictions in place.
Enjoy your return!
This here is not an existing problem. In fact it’s a huge foundation for the game and a big selling point for so many of us. The ability to have fun, run around old maps at will and still get relevant rewards is of enormous importance for this game. If anything it improves the experience for lower levels since I have rarely seen events ignored by downscaled passerbys. Most ppl see an active event en route – they join in.
I have no problem with the ABILITY to go to maps and have fun IF YOU WANT TO. But a lot of the people on these maps are not there for fun, they are merely running from node to node, ignoring all other players and enemies, degrading rather than contributing to the fun of people who actually want to be there by triggering improper scaling in events, causing population capping issues, and dragging trains around the map.
We want the population of maps to want to be there and to be participating. The level scaling allows this to happen and is a great system. The node issue has the opposite effect.
The node issue actually brings more people participating. W/o them, the maps would be almost empty and no one would be participating. The issue you are describing barely exists because most ppl generally do participate between nodes if something pops up. I have certainly never in 4 years seen irregular scaling of normal events due to node farmers. I would be surprised if that was an issue anywhere in the game.

This forces people onto maps they have no interest in playing, which they have already completed, and on which they do not actually participate, but merely run around ignoring all events and enemies while they farm. This degrades the experience of all players on these lower level maps and causes issues with event completion and aggro swarming..

- Commanders removing their lfg once full. There were 6 full maps just now I saw and everyone is trying to get into those. If players commanding the taxi shut their lfgs down, players would be more inclined to push their own map and not stand idly by and the cause they issue you describe
You can help here. If you join a squad and the map is full, do tell the commander in the squad chat. We normaly immediately remove the lfg entry but if nobody says anything it stays in lfg longer than needed.
The only way you can guess that the map is full if ppl join and leave again without getting to our map. But sometimes I just don’t look for that while organizing the 4 comm teams.
So just put into the squad chat “/d map full”. It’ll help improve the current situation.
Agreed..but some still don’t do it and you end up re-taxiing back in again
Every 2-3 months was what they originally intended. It was never meant to be strict to 2 months. It’s likely to be either next week or after the pvp season ends.
There’s a lot of threads in the Living Story subforum discussing potential release dates. Frankly I’d rather a delay by a couple of weeks if it means not rushing it to meet an arbitrary schedule
