I have no objection to the idea, but I’d like to see it as a separate building and upgrade queue list. Technically we have something similar in the Aerodrome, but something like you suggest, with waves of mobs or elites etc, would be a nice addition to the GH.
It’s not like there isn’t a massive abundance of space in the GH for more buildings after all!
I’d like to see;
- a fight against a Dragon Lieutenant from an earlier rise
- Battle against Scarlet on the Breachmaker (if S1 is not going to return)
- Danir’s idea of a Bone Dragon + undead waves attacking something the ToA
My previous PC had similar specs and played OK on medium settings. HoT meant I had to have it on lowest to be fully playable, but that’s to be expected on minimum spec set ups.
I prefer the system as it is and how it has worked since the start of GW1. I’m not sure it would prove popular to change a system at this point which would undoubtably screw over a great deal many people who have characters awaiting their rewards.
No such service exists. Various tonics are available in game, however I am unaware of any that change the skin of your race to another of the main races. There is one to make you look like a Kodan though if that helps.
Here is the list of tonics in case any work for you, altho virtually none allow access to skills.

The Guild Hall needs to be relevant to players for them to donate to it. We have 3 semi regular playwrs in the Guild who contribute and between us, we have got to lvl 37 in a year, mostly because I have pushed as something we can do together (plus it stops me being tempted by another Legendary…). The remaining few rarely log in or use the GH, therefore don’t look at the current donations request in the MOTD.
Unless the Guild Hall is relevant to their everyday lives – which is harder in a small guild – they will have no incentive to invest in that as opposed to selling the useful mats for personal gain which will rank a higher priority.
Involving members in decorating, ensuring players know what sevices exist in the hall, guild meetings held there, pvp fights in the arena, changing up the decorations, weekly keg brawls, use of the portal for guild missions – these are possible ideas that may help.

Don’t tell anyone. I’ll get fired.
That’s one heck of a boss fight. Break bar broken by using /dance eh?
None of the LS come bundled with the any purchase. They are either free if you log in during that initial time, or you have to pay (new or veteran, it is the same cost to catch up). LS1 is the exception as that has gone, possibly for good.
I’m not overly keen on the way this is presented, in part because it is unclear to new players unless you venture onto the Wiki or Forums, but also because it makes it hard to recommend the game to people at times when you have these additional costs which aren’t full expacs to try and explain as well.
The restriction itself is perfectly valid. It does however, need to be clearer that it exists in some form, rather than players finding out via the forum or wiki, which is not where this information should be presented to first time players.
It’s not in any way a major issue ofc being such an insignificant period of time, but clarity should always be the rule, not the exception.
Highly unlikely. Judging by the previous AMA, they seem keen to keep LS maps as snapshots in time which make it vastly easier on them developing them. I’m not sure what advantage adding more water brings to the map either.
Also bear in mind that even in a year or 2, new players will still be diving into the map for the first time, so changing it wouldn’t fit for their story either.
One thing to bear in mind. LS2 achievements cannot be completed on any chars first run through on each episode. A char needs to complete an episode (or poss just the relevant instance i forget) for that char to be able to qualify to attempt achievements next time.
Its annoying, but they never updated ls2 to account for this sadly
Known issue according to their twitter. Being worked on
It was pretty much the perfect current event. THIS is the benchmark for all CE going forward.
- mail to start it off (see it works when you do it!!)
- a nice story, tying off a loose end without bogging down the main story
- concise, well told point with appropriate lore
- a decent amount of achievement points (please LS team this is how you do it!)
- a fun and trackable quest
- some well tuned fights. Not too hard, but just enough challenge for those of us less skilled.
- excellent rewards, with an option to swap! (I’d personally have dropped the ascended GS for maybe staff or something to avoid the doubling up though).
Considering how dire the whole story of that weird rift thing was, which is still incomplete and had no real indication of what on Earth was going on, this was a breath of fresh air. Kudos to the team!

I don’t think asura have grown, but I’m pretty sure Taimi has, though that could just be me
They confirmed a while ago that they have grown her slightly to take into account her getting a bit older, so you are correct.
SAB? I don’t think so. I think we will get something like when we got the big head or we imitated plane, but not a festival.
But if they have a team to do an another map for SAB, I will be surprised.
SAB is annual festival now. Whilst a new world is improbable (they haven’t outright ruled it out, but implied it’s not on the cards), SAB should be back from April.
Most MMO studios except Blizzard and SquareEnix always have resource issues. There will always, always be a greater demand for stuff than can ever be put in game. Anet’s problem isn’t always down to them having a lack of resources directly (although sometimes it clearly can be), it’s often trying to meet an inflated expectation by one of the most demanding playerbases out there (or so it feels).
GW2 churns out a significant amount of patches, content and features versus some other games, like TSW for example which is the same age, has produced 1 new pve map in nearly 5 years and has never really balanced skills/pvp or anything else in recent history.
GW2 feels a lot more stable in its direction right now. Whilst I don’t always agree with the implementation at times, it’s ceased trying to be so ambitious it can’t fulfill its promises anymore like it was between launch and HoT and has been more consistent in its delivery in both the quality and timescale of its content.
Whilst I am greatly impatient for more (which is a good sign), I appreciate how much we do actually get considering other MMO playerbases get it so much worse.
Yet another “good in concept, poor in execution” scavenger hunt.
What was “poor in execution” according to you?
The scavenger hunt, obviously. Oh, you want details…well…
- While most of the mote’s hints were well enough, two in particular (the “hinterlands” and “wild lands” motes) were so vague that I spent half an hour searching for the former before asking for help, and probably might have ended up doing the same for the latter if I hadn’t read a part of a thread referencing the area for it.
- The shards. Upon finding the collection tab and reading up on the hints, I quickly realize they’re spread throughout the HoT zones and dread trying to search for them blind in huge vertical zones with nearly everything wanting to kill me. After some time looking for the first one, I went “forget it” and decided to wiki that crap, because sure enough, they’re either tucked away in spots you’ll never figure out yourself, or get close to but not quite.
It seems like someone behind the making of these just assumes that since most people are probably going to just look it up anyways, they make parts of it so vague/tedious/frustrating that people end up looking it up anyways…
The sad thing is, the story parts were nice. I just wish that annoying scavenger hunt wasn’t in the way of getting to them…but at least I never have to do it again.
Thanks for sharing, I was genuinely asking out of pure curiosity. Anyway I will have to disagree with you personally. What you found frustrating to look for felt amazing to me. I personally had no trouble to find the items (except for 2 items but anyway people talked about it on map), had no trouble going into the maps and remembering what the description of the item referred to. Over all I found it excellent because it made me go back into places I had forgotten about.
I agree with FLog. The riddles were one of the best bits. I had huge fun trying to work them out. A couple had me stumped for a bit and one I needed a Guildie to solve (who knew it without a second thought), but otherwise it was a brilliant scavenger hunt from my p.o.v.
I sincerely hope the next expac involves Primordus and Jormag. To kill them off so suddenly, without having the opportunity to explore and play in the Depths of The Northern Shiverpeaks would be a huge loss to the game.
Suddenly veering off to Kralk or the DSD seems a bit of an odd direction considering the stage we are currently at.
There are only two, that I know of, that were around before the Rift events. One in the Black Citadel, and one in Divinity’s Reach. They are both ‘ghosts’ of past Living World events. There may be a few others, but most now seen are Rift events.
I reported plenty in Blazeridge, Brisbane, Frostgorge and Snowden previously. This was before the Rift Events. I suspect it’s a bug with the event tracker somewhere. It certainly occurs less frequently (for me) than it used to, so I’m not overly bothered by it anymore.
It is not related to the stabilisers, it is bug which has existed for some time which comes goes. Ive had it many times, unrelated and long before the stabiliser events started.
Ive reported them before, but since ive never deduced a pattern to what causes it, its difficult to give them enough context for a fix
2 more episodes brings us to early Summer. If and it is a big “if” the expac is this year, there is still plenty of time for it to come out at the end of the year, especially given a separate team is working on it. I cannot see a a long build up like HoT given the problems that caused last time and Mike and team clearly seem more organised with scheduling now.
Given where we are with the Season story, 1 more episode would feel incredibly anti-climatic. I’m not saying it wont happen, but it would seem unlikely given where we are right now.
Everything you list seems reasonable to appear before S3 ends, but it’s also way too much for 1 episode given they have a clear and thematically clean framework in place for how each episode works.
I would expect to see 6 – 2 white mantle (done), 2 related to Primordus and 2 related to Jormag. If the 6th doesn’t lead into the expac, I could see a 7th doing that instead tying things together, but that might be extending it too far.
There’s too much going on right now to rush and end it on one more episode.
Edge of Destiny sets up GW2 and has a great deal of lore. It is the weakest in terms of writing quality, but is probably the most important to read. It even has an Elder Dragon appear in it.
Ghosts of Ascalon is the best by far and away in terms of story, writing and characters. Most of the lore is around Ascalon, Ebonhawke and surrounding areas.
Sea of Sorrows is largely dull with the blandest possible hero, but it has some good supporting cast and links into the game with a cool achievement quest. It follows things during and after the rise of Zhaitan and also the founding of LA as it appeared in GW2. It has also has a couple of surprise nods to GW1
They added the 2g daily reward as a carrot for those who had hit the cap. Seems a good trade off to me. Not having reached the cap also means I can pick and choose when I do my dailies since there are some days I just don’t like the options, but I know I’ve not lost those ap for good.
I’d rather they increased the ap rewards from each new achievement – eg 5 instead of 1 with LS achievements. Athough I am happy about the large amount from the new current event…
Alts get a new book updated with what is already collected if they find a new letter, so I’d imagine you’d just get a new book later if you went back to it. The book really is just a lore tracker afaik so you should be safe in theory.
You could go in next time a friend or guildie goes in though.
It’s a mesmer skill bug
Bloodstone Fen has large numbers of plants you can farm. I’ve gained most of mine through there.
I do not think it was from the guild hall guy thing. Cause it persisted to exiting guild hall.
Guild Hall music always comes from the music guy with the only exception being sometimes when you zone, music persists until the track has finished and then moves onto the zone relevant one (hence why you heard it outside).
Golden Cave
It really depends what OST soundtrack the Guild Hall in question was set to. There’s the default one depending on which you visit and one for each of the cities and one called Pure Sound of Nature (which I think is no music).
This might help you track it down as the track name is listed for some, although it is incomplete and tracks cycle through multiple others:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Robb_
I’ll tryt and add some of the tracks below

The Chest of Ascended Crafting Materials from login will not only gain you the crystal, but also ascended mats you can sell if you choose not to craft. No crafting required.
One other way is a random drop through things like the Star of Gratitude. No crafting required.
Salvaged from ascended gear gained from pve such as drops or collections. Tool is available from a laurel vendor.
That is three ways you can obtain it without ever having to craft anything ever. Anet cannot cater for every type of player and how they each individually choose to play any given mode. At some point or other, players have to cross over into game modes they would not normally. Such is the way of MMO’s.
Try Melandru’s Calm – I believe it is the one just before Trahearne heals Orr and Fear Not This Night (instrumental) takes over
I know the one you mean. I will find it and let you the name shortly
We’ll be making a game update on Wednesday, February 22 that will include skill balancing. Members of our skills and balance team will be on the official forums for a while after the build goes live to discuss those changes with you.
To take part, please join the new thread we’ll post after the build goes live. For our players who participate on the French, German, or Spanish forums, we will provide a list of highlights from the conversation by the end of the week.
Just one question. Where are the member of balance team? Am I only one who didn’t found any post from them? (that’s make me think that there are no balance team, at least from what I’ve read in last patch notes…..)

I’ve missed the thread. Thanks and my apologize
No worries, it was only up for a couple of hours before it moved to the sticky, so most ppl prob missed it

Seems weirdly exploity in some ways though. I wonder if they intended for players to cycle through at will to complete the achievement
I to have a major Kitten on this I just got all the scavenger hut parts done and find I now need a vision crystal I don’t craft or do fractals and PVE
and will not spend money just to get in to lava lounge to get a salvage tool
did any one at Arena Net stop to think that people by choice do not craft or do PVP fractals yet in PVE all I ever hear is you don’t need ascended gear Well I say KITTENS
I busted my kitten just like every one else to do HOT and get it done now that there is a chance to get an ascended item based on that I get KITTENS Tossed in my face and told tough luck go do something other then PVE your not worthy of an ascended weapon or armor
Most of this I couldn’t really decipher, but why do you need to go to a lava lounge to get the ascended salvage tool? There are other places these are available from, including fractals and I believe a Laurel Vendor
If you use unbound to exchange it for a different one, can you keep doing it to unlock all skins?
In the Grove yes there is a current event which u can only see if you have finished HoT to avoid spoilers. The continuum rift you are seeing is part of a bug listed below, but it is often seen at the site of the current event listed above.

- Figure out which is your favorite and completely adapt your build/main so that it will be used that often.
This is me
My poor alts lol
It’s not been closed, it was moved to the sticky section at the top. It is annoying when it happens, but it’s technical issue with the forum. Eowin’s advice is sound if you are ever writing anything lengthy.
It IS closed. Looked at the lock in it.
I stand corrected. As you were!

If you are interested in this universe, explore the events that took place during GW1 and read the three amazing novels. Anything related to GW2 should be forgotten as we all know how rushed, cliché and milked the overall story is.
Three novels? I’m only aware of two (Ghosts and Destiny’s Edge). What’s the third?
Sea of Sorrows. It takes place during and after Zhaitans rise and sets up the founding of Lions Arch as it appeared at GW2’s Launch. It is reasonably well written, with a decent supporting cast and (in my opinion) a bland hero. Whilst I didn’t really think it was an interesting story, many people liked it the most and there are nods to it with an achievement to find the monuments to Cobiah Marriner in key locations mentioned in the book.
The main story is told regardless of race. Each race has it’s own unique take on the early part prior to joining an order, but it is flavour and lore enhancements rather than any impact on the main story.
The dungeon story is set up via in game mails. You will have received these as you level and progress through the game. They will direct you to the dungeon which will have their own story mode you can play through. They link loosely to the final story instance, but are not essential.
Following the map pointer is all you have to do to understand the main arc. Everything else is peripheral. It’s a Living World, so other stories are often going on around you – whether that takes the form of Hearts, Dynamic Events, Current Events or Dungeons and Raids, they are not vital for the understanding of the main plot – they merely enhance/deepen the experience.
Seasons
- Season 1 is gone, probably for good. After you finish the Personal Story you will get access to a summary video explaining bits. It is largely incomplete so you may need to seek external sources like the Wiki for completion
- Season 2 is a gem store purchase. Each episode was free if you logged in for the launch, otherwise you will need to buy it. To access the gem store, press O in game.
If you have completed the Personal Story, Trahearne was the Sylvari who led the Pact throughout the latter half of the story. You spoke to him a lot and he led the offensive to cleanse Orr and take on Zhaitan.
LA is short for Lions Arch. It is almost the Capital City of the game, being a nexus for all the races. If you have completed the Personal Story you will have been there many times.
It will not remove the boost until it is consumed. You are safe
All classes get significantly better at 80 once traits and proper armour is unlocked.
I would advise against using a boost if you are new though. The difference between 8 and 80 is large and you risk causing more confusion if you haven’t gotten used to the game the traditional way.
Mesmer particularly benefits from levelling more traditionally since it is a more complex class than some of the others and you will benefit from gradually unlocking and learning.
Any elite spec, Legends and new weapons will occur with subsequent expansions. That is about the limit of anyone’s knowledge.
eg Revenant was given Herald spec, Glint Legend and Shield with HoT
What they need to do is separate skill balancing and fix what is actually broken, not continue this buff and nerf circus that goes on every few months.
Dude, logic much? Sheesh, chill out there. Next you’ll be wanting to solve world hunger or something.
No, he’s right, you are the one here, who’s disillusioned and doesn’t see anymore things how they actually are.
You are currently just blinded by your own overprotectionism for the game, because you don’t seem to understand, why other people aren’t satisfied with the patch right now.It must not be your logic. He has his own logic for his reasons and they are completely legit. I absolutely agree with him, that this Game needs finally separate Skill Balancing.
Because all three Game Modes have completely different interests and target groups of Players.
If PvE Skills would get more freedom in their designs, then they could for example become more epic, fun and interesting, without that they will harm in any way the balance for PvP or WvW .
If PvP skills get their own seperate designs, then can anet make as many balance changes there as they want, without that any good and interesting builds get destroyed for PvE, or turns into something overpowered under mass player conditions in WvW unpredictedly.
And for WvW it would allow them also to make more flavorful interesting skill adjustments without that the skills are then for PvP totally overpowered or make PvE too easy somewhere in regard of World Bosses and other mass events there.
Pretty certain the person you quoted was agreeing with you and just being sarcastic
