That does not work I did it but after going through the exalted portal their is another door blocking enterance to the skillpoint and Exalted champion
I just used the Guild Hall method during the meta without issues and have done whenever I need to bypass the meta event to the city underneath. There is route through directly to the egg chamber after you use the exalted portal after entering via the GH.
She unbugged herself after 5mins for me. Really would have been annoying to re-do this on a such a slow mission due to a bug.
Might be worth looking into the number of elite mobs spawning. a dozen or more in one wave seems excessive. Aurene is getting obliterated in seconds befroe even getting to some of the generators

It’s an annual April festival now, so no it wont be back again this year
It’s difficult to marry up saying you have 7000 hours played and yet you say there is a lack of game. There will always come a point where you can do everything that appeals to you. The vast majority of players will have a fraction of your play time and Anet can only churn out so much content.
It’s simply burn out and when a suitable enough amount of content is released, you will likely be back playing again.
thanks, scrolled through it real quick.. so it really is a phantom patch? 400mb of nothing?
The wonderfully unexciting world of MMO maintenance patches.

Writing “for the birds” has nothing to do with the Tengu.
“For the birds” is a less common idiom/slang phrase which has been a part of the English language for a long time. It means “worthless” essentially.
Gw2s competition also does gear grinds, level cap raises, non open world scaling, questing and other outdated things GW2 long since discarded. In fact many are starting to copy GW2 as evidenced by the latest WoW expac which has been a roaring success, partly because it is trying to capture what GW2 does right.
I am by no means saying you are wrong in GW2 needing tiered raids, I am largely ambivalent on the subject and am fine with either method. However, what other mmos do is not necs relevant when raid set ups arent conclusively the sole reason for strong subs.
The DDOS attack from two days ago has passed. Its been fine since yesterday.
Firstly they absolutely haven’t failed. Wurm is a daily success and Tequatl is defeintely one of their more successful overhauls.
They did say a while ago why not all were getting the treatment;
- Resources. Shatterer when he was updated was squeezed in between schedules. Right now, I don;t think such a gap for working on the core worlds exist.
- They’ve stated they are happy with the current state of the core maps.
- Many of the bosses don’t need overhauls for their respective maps. eg starter map bosses are specifically designed not to be difficult as it should be.
- Raids are where they want the hardcore pve content to be.
Don#t forget we have had coordinated bosses since Teq and Wurm. Whether they are hardcore is debatable, but the do require coordination.
- Gerent
- Vinewrath
- Dragons Stand
- T4 Verdant Brink
Having said all that, I don’t think we’ve 100% seen the last overhaul. Karka feels prime for an update. Taidha and Modniir need new mechanics for what they are and Claw of Jormag may receive some tweaking when the storyline becomes relevant to do so. Either that or new Claws will be added in the forthcoming maps.
I only use the 10x recipe and I’ve seen them once, maybe twice.
Pretty sure the Consortium are part of the recent Current Events.
Correct. There’s also NPC’s in LA for the Consortium (who built new LA) plus ofc there are the Fractals, which was set up by the Consortium. SO there is lore available for newer players.
They may not directly link into the story yet (well not since S1), but they clearly play a part in the side stories. This is a good use of any faction in my opinion and perhaps shows more how the Living World is meant to work.
Season 4? That may be some time in future. A year or more?
Yes, that was part of the joke the poster was making
Ive had a bunch of those from the 10x recipe before.
I was so pleased.
How is it a massive update affecting gameplay? You get a 3 hour window to log off at your convenience and you are no longer forced out when you zone or switch character.
Given it took just a few mins to fully update and it was listed as a maintenance build (common in any MMO), I’m not entirely understanding what the issue is. I went to make a cuppa and it was done on return.
I disagree. I enjoyed my Moot before they went too far with some of the cartoony stuff. I really hope they don’t mess around with it anymore. They have acknowledged a lot of players have complained about their constant tinkering with legendaries so hopefully those they have already added to, wont get further effects piled on.
This is the first living story that I’m really excited about, but I’m a norn nut with heavy wvw focus. Now I’m gonna have to knock out the other living stories like my avatars hair was set on fire so I can do this one lol.
If you just want the episode and map, you can play them out of order and can jump straight into this one if you aren’t fussed about context.
You aren’t storing them in an invisible bag by any chance are you?
What specifically are you putting in the forge? The forge isn’t really used for transmuting except for ascended weapons and armour.
I remember the boss being a bit rubbish and easy so any increase of difficulty or improved mechanics is welcome.
Love to see exclusive skins as well.
Looking forward to this!
No precursor can be crafted twice. Whether it is core or new, the crafting collections system can only allow you to craft that precursor once. The Tiger shortbow is not unique in this.
However, because the original precursors (ie not the new pistol, staff, mace, shortbow) drop from loot or the forge, that allows the actual Legendary weapon to be crafted more than once. Nevermore and Hope cannot be crafted multiple times due to the collection system. Eureka I have no idea on.
We’re not asking for immediate gratification. We just want assurance that, one day, the stuff’ll be made available to us again.
They wont give that since it is strict internal policy not to discuss forthcoming content (unless they are doing WvW polls)
It would make no difference. It is a question of resources not a question of willing. We want it, many devs want to do it. To make it requires time away from future content. It comes down the what is more important. Rereleased old content and a drought on new content or regular new content.
Like almost any expansion for a game, you will have to buy the expansion in order to access and play it.
Whilst I 100% agree with you, in case you aren’t aware why it isn’t in game anymore, I’ll leave this summing up by another poster for you.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lwd/Any-update-on-living-story-season-1/first#post6387327
tldr: It’s a huge amount of work for them to re-make. Yes, it needs to be in game and the recap does not cover it anywhere near enough, but it looks unlikely to ever happen now.
Only Karka Queen is large group content. Everything else from the outposts events, to the champions to the solo events (including 2 escort events, the Asura event and the omelette event) do not require large groups. It also has a JP which whilst challenging, is has never been under consensus as the worst in the game. It’s actually a well designed JP.
Removing it is the worst possible solution since it is a beautiful area and would make no sense from a lore pov. If ppl don’t go there, then they can just ignore it. It’s hardly destroying their life or annoying them. It would actually take resources to remove it and redirect achievements and legendary collections elsewhere.
It certainly needs revitalising and hopefully they will give it a few more events or steer a story chapter there, but to remove it entirely from the game seems like a baffling suggestion, especially when there are plenty of people who enjoy the island.
I found the Chaos fractal disappointing, but I am really looking forward to this one. I know it wont be the same as it was, but it was still a pretty epic experience. I hope they have made the boss a bit more challenging though.
I like it. Considering the first legendary shield was a serious one, rather than a joke, it seems fitting that the second should be more jokey (Quip/Hope, Dreamer/Chuk Chump, Bifrost/Nevermore etc.)
I hope you mean Bifrost for staff because nevermore seems more of a serious type legendary which’s lore is deeply embedded in Norn culture.
I think you mean the opposite http://norse-mythology.org/cosmology/bifrost/
Neither are “silly” legendaries, however Nevermore is based on GW2 mythology. Bifrost is not. It is based on mythology from our World and is completely unrelated to the Norn (who are loosely based on a variety of cultures including Norse and North American).
so make it a black lion set, and do 1 for every race on the world of tyria. you get your silly weapons, and you dont kitten all over the Legendary scheme
The legendary scheme as you put it has no rules about being serious or silly. They are meant to be skins with additional details, animations and effects that other skins lack. Whether they are serious or not has never been relevant since the beginning.
I have no issue with the shield skin itself, it looks quite good fun actually.
I remember many moaned about Chuka and Champawat before it came out, but there is nothing wrong with that legendary and I haven’t seen any complaints about it since it was released.
Fair play if it isn’t to an individual taste, but it’s hardly rubbish and plenty of ppl have wanted a Quaggan themed weapon for a while. They are never going to satisfy everyone.
The wolf like one is pretty much a normal icebrood wolf (at 1.00). I don’t see anything unusual in it from the brief flash.
whats next, a legendary GS thats just 5 skritt in a trench coat?
This is the single greatest idea for a weapon ever. It must become a reality!
I’m 100% behind this idea
You might get your wish concerning Caudecus and the White Mantle. There were paintings of the Shiverpeaks in one of the Raid wings. Whilst we know the main civilised races prob wont be occupying such hostile Dragon territory, we do know bandits dig in to these places (Maguuma Wastes, Northern Maguuma etc). Since the bandits were linked to the White Mantle and if memory serves there may be a Bloodstone there, we could get the link you want.
Yeah, I got them in 3 languages. German, Spanish and English. No French, though.
Probably a one-time flub.
I wouldn’t unsubscribe at this time. I’d wait and see if it happens again before unsubscribing, just in case it unsubscribes from all.
Maybe a Dev will respond, though.
I got another English one!
Maybe I’ll get a rare language next…
Gotta catch ’em all!
I had a bit of trouble reading your reply since it need paragraphing so forgive me if I miss part of what you were saying.
RoF is right by other maps, but maps are vast as indicated in Ghosts of Ascalon where travelling from Ebonhawke to Ascalon takes many days. So it might seem right next door, but it’s still a few days travel by sea. According to the Wiki, gates require extreme effort and expense. So it was a bit strange to see one appear so quickly. That also hinders new ones being built so quickly elsewhere as well and that is supported by lore.
Right now, we don’t know how a new map will be handled. But, it really doesn’t change that it still feels a little odd to me to bounce all the way up north so suddenly whilst still dealing with things all the way out in the RoF. That’s my P.O.V. If you don;t agree, then fair enough, but it doesn’t change anything.
At the end of the day it is only a small and minor gripe. I’ve wanted a new Shiverpeaks map and even my minor gripe wont take away from my enjoyment of where we are headed.

Yeah I just added a thread about it in the Account subforum since it happened to me as well.
I just got an email from Anet about the half price offer on HoT. No issue there since I am subscribed to updates. However, for the first time ever I’ve also had 3 other emails, each in different languages – German, French and Spanish (I think).
Is this a new thing? Can I safely unsubscribe from the 3 unwanted language emails and still be subscribed to the English language option?
My question is if i purchase HoT will i get all the new elite spec that will be released forever?
You will get the HoT ones, but not any in future expacs.
The expac is being worked on behind the scenes unlike HoT. The stated intention was less than the 3 years of the previous wait, so I think next year is a reasonable guess, giving it 2 years since HoT and thus falling in like with their forecasts earlier this year. Summer tends to be rather poor for game releases and Spring feels too soon, so I’d take a fair punt at 3rd or 4th quarter 2017.
We’ve always had Asuran gates, which can teleport us to anywhere in the world, at any given time. Also, in the story it’s already been established that Taimi has her own super powered gate. Yet, some people still question why we jump through the map? Never mind that they’ve been a part of the game since GW1, never mind that they’ve been a prominent part of the story since GW2 came out, and God forbid I once again remind you it’s been a key element of LWS3. Talk about not paying any attention to the story for the past 9 years (EotN)… LOL
And yet despite how long it takes to build a gate or potentially set up a WP network, wherever we go, someone has literally just set such things up. It makes sense in Core Tyria because it is a widely populated part of the Continent.
Does it make as much sense when all of a sudden one is set up in the RoF. Or waypoints appear in the middle of a crater where a bloodstone just exploded or by 3 blighting towers next to an Elder Dragons lair?
We accept it because game mechanics sometimes need to override the logic and that requires a certain suspension of disbelief. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t “feel” a tad weird or cheap on select occasions when we suddenly appear in near abandoned territory halfway through starting up a major battle elsewhere.
The things that caught my eye were the rooster (rooster? wha??) and the blue Bouncing Mushrooms.
Does that mean a new map? Most of what I saw looked like Frostgorge, but….
The devs stated they intended a new map per episode. There also appear to be new mobs and new landscape features, so the conclusion is a new map.
Can someone tell me the words from this moment of the trailer? https://youtu.be/avwqxSGaq3Y?t=29
The Commander says: “so this is Jormag”… and I cant understand other words XD
“So this is Jormag’s idea of paradise”
I agree the jump feels wrong, but Ill wait and see how they handle it. I know the tech exists, but it still feels weird how we jump from one battlefront ot the other across the entire Continent.
I think it is way too soon for Drakkar and I doubt we will push that far North either. As he is an established “villain” from GW1, Drakkar’s appearance should be built up to prior to Jormag in an expac..
Why would it be too soon? Drakkar was not as powerful as the Dragonspawn, the Dragonspawn was slain before the game had begun.
We have no idea of Drakkar’s full power? Even if Drakkar is less powerful for some reason, he is much more established in the lore which means it will be more of seminal moment when we confront him. That requires a lead in which we haven’t had…yet.
Under the collections system, I’d have gone for this regardless of whether I’d use the skin. There would have a lot of potential for some fun collections and exploring more Quaggan lore.
As it is, I’ll skip it entirely.

The Monday is to give them breathing space before Thanksgiving.
The statue makes perfect sense given her relevance to the story concerning Jormag, Drakkar and the Sons of Svanir. As a Norn Hero, I’d be more surprised if she wasn’t mentioned.
It is due to Thanksgiving according to Gaile.
1 day sooner for new content works for me though!!
Monday the 21st is episode 3
mmm…a new snow/ice map.
Unusual day for a patch to hit, but I suppose Thanksgiving has made a few schedule changes.
I think one of the issues is that the story is one long arc rather than smaller campaigns like GW1 where the same type of generic narrative could be kept tighter and be less of a problem. The result has been a bit of a mess of threads going in all directions and not always being tied up.
HoT was a massive opportunity to expand on the sylvari lore, explore the internal strife with the race and delve into the new conflicts with other races born of their revelation as Dragon minions. Instead, the entire lot was thrown to the wind for a quick race through the jungle and to set up the story of Glints Scion and the effect of growing magic from dead Dragons.
Guild Wars 1 had its fair share of poor storytelling and forgettable characters. Both Prophecies and Factions were utterly dire and at times a complete mess, but they were succinct and for the most part tied everything up so a new story arc could begin.
On the flip side, they are very good at telling the little stories. Dynamic events, metas etc. These are often engaging stories and often do a better job of painting the bigger picture than when they try to write a full sweeping story, which usually ends up missing all the necs details and logic required to hold together cohesively.
