But the change is not skill or mechanics based. They are playing with boss healths to make adjustments. They will likely want to bring bosses in line with how they were pre patch relatively speaking. I expect to see 1 or 2 more tweaks before they feel its in the right place for the game.
This isnt to do with new builds and the critical spot isnt always critting. Ive seen fully organised teq runs fail, not because organisation was lacking.
Im not advocating it being trivialised, but it isnt where it should be right now, at least for Teq. Im unconvinced Wurm is either, however i havent managed to get into a map that is organised to the right level to judge. I will bow to those who have a greater knowledge with that boss.
If ofc I am wrong, and it is where they want it, the rewards fir both wurm and teq need to be upped. Right now the rewards are poor for the time and effort and further incentive is needed to encourage players not to leave halfway through
(edited by Randulf.7614)
Yes but as has been said that was because people were learning a New mechanic. This is not a skill or me hanics based issue with teq, it is just overtuned. I have no doubt Anet will bring it back down a little, simply because it is easier to balance to start from a high base and pull it back.
This is not a l2p issue nor is it the same as when it was launched when ppl showed no appetite for learning a fight. The fight is learnt already.
The weekend data should be enough for to decide where to make the next adjustments Whether it with hp or the possible crit bug which has been reported
(edited by Randulf.7614)
Yeah most mmo’s use their players on live servers to determine balancing – it’s the only reliable source of obtaining data. No amount of testing internally can re-create player ingenuinity and creativity with builds to be able to properly test things.
As for whether the balance is poor or not, that is highly subjective and I’ve seen both sides of the argument here – many are saying the opposite. Pretty much every subforum has a thread which is about how theirs is the worst nerfed post patch and one that says how op their prof is now.
Things they have said they will reveal but haven’t yet;
Elites for 6 classes
More Revenant detail
Challenging Group Content
Legendary Weapons
Other stuff we might get more info on;
More masteries stuff
More lore stuff like the Hylek tribe blog
Info on the maps
It’s a progression system. They don’t exist to give free access to any area in the game, the idea is you invest XP into the gliding mastery to allow you to explore a map in a new and different way that can only be accessed from tree top to tree top. Travelling across the canopy then improves the jungle “feel”, especially as Maguuma is a more broken and open jungle.
As for the rest of the world, it has no need or purpose there than being cool. Yes it would be cool, but there are gameplay disadvantages as well like trivialising waypoints, breaking map boundaries, trivialising JPs.
On balance, as cool as it would be, I think their decision is the corrct one.
I dont disagree with you OP, but this is the 4th thread today on the subject, with 2 at least on the front page.
It is the weekend, spreading the feedback across multiple threads will only mean they get buried until they can look it at it properly on Monday onwards
Guild Wings
Fire wings
Frosty wings
Lightning wings
Shadow wings
Smoke wings
Toxic wings
Bat wings
Metallic wings
There are so many options. The thing is wings really dont fit the game very well at all. That doesn’t mean I’m against them at all, I just think it’s better to have a variety of different types of backpieces than by flooded with 1 type in different colours and effects in a game where they don’t “feel” quite right.
Realistically though if they’d do more, I’d prob be in favour of the fire one to fit Balthazar and other other common flaming armour.
Mesmer magic or a glass eye. Def not an oversight
Nope……
we will never speak of this again.
I greatly admire your sense of optimism in the forum community
There’s a thread a few down from your one on the subject https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Hero-challenge-icon-vs-Skill-challenge-icon
That I’m aware of, but TT wasn’t much easier post the changes. It was more achievable granted, but not by a large margin. The runs I saw in organised maps yesterday all failed before the double hp buff hit, so that’s the bit I’m scratching my head over. Surely that just makes a hard fight…harder?
Yes but that was a mechanics lesson curve. That is no longer the case, the difficulty is simply due to overtuning the hp pool or because of the crit issues not fully resolved.
If it was purely down to having to re-learn a new mechanic, then I’d 100% agree in not nerfing it at this stage
I’m fairly certain it will get nerfed since it isn’t working as intended. People know the fight, so this time it isn’t a case for learning the fight anymore. They will tweak it until they hit the sweet spot again.
As for wurm, not sure I understand why that got buffed. 3 attempts the day before ended in failure. People wont take the effort to learn a fight if it doesn’t feel achievable to start with.
What we are overlooking here is that Skritt has a LOT of shinies courtesy of the OP’s “generosity”….
evil grin
I thought they already stated a few months back there will be no alternate personal story for Revenants?
If I can find it, Ill post the dev comment on it
I haven’t found a will to take picture post patch yet still working on theocrafting and stuffs. But here’s a pic pre patch :P
That is an awesome screenshot
I’m not disappointed with what large amount that has been shown so far. If there’s more to come, bonus. Especially judging by the teaser stuff in the stress tests.
I re-did my thief post patch now that the balance changes improved him
1. They said they would implement new spvp maps pre release
2. Precursor crafting just after release
3. Minus revenent and new w3 map the rest is just fluff
So lets remove pre-cursor crafting since that is post-release and they also said it wasn’t something they could do.
The new maps, new specialisations, masteries, exploration content – all of which are being implemented based on community feedback and requests, do not sound like fluff to me. Sound like exactly what expacs normally contain. I can name plenty of expacs that have contained far less.
I dont remember Revenant, maguuma maps, multi layered biomes, masteries, specialisations, stronghold, new borderlands maps, wyvern boss fights, precursor crafting or gliding being announced before original launch?
Wouldnt that take away sales of the gem store infinite tools?
The answer is simple, find an external forum for this.
If people feel the need to debate non gw2 issues or attack each other options exist elsewhere.
So I think we’re all in agreement, these items won’t go into the wallet.
Can anyone give me some pointers on how I can consume them? I’ll have 30 stacks left after turning what I can left into the bricks etc.
Thanks
Use the wiki to look up the following
Mawdrey 2
Empyrael Star
Dragonite Eater
They consume your excess mats for each type
Forum refused to go to next page because it has too much health.
Forum health nerf initiated.
Needs more dots, more dots!!

Correct. Once pre-purchased, the beta slot will appear in readiness. You just can’t use it until a beta is active
A side question, can a precursor drop from those reward bags by mawdrey, princess, and star?
From the Wiki;
1 random weapon or piece of armor Masterwork rarity or higher.
In theory yes, but it would be one of the rarest/hardest ways to obtain one due to how big the loot table is.
No there isn’t. There is no announcement of any upcoming beta weekends yet
Precisely none since they are a crafting material and it would mean re-designing the wallet again for really minimal gain for the work involved. They are also not a currency so wouldn’t belong in there.
Now that all 3 have consumers (albeit Empyreal only appears at Xmas), the problem will eventually go away of having too many.
I expect more recipes and uses will appear over time as well.
Only a tiny handful of ppl try to break out of maps. Gliding would mean everyone could. It would also trivialise waypoints and trivialise jumping puzzles on top of that.
The old zones aren’t designed for them, so the devs said they wouldn’t add them for core regions.
In the point to “good for 3 maps”. We do not know how many maps are in HoT. Plus, they can design new maps going forward with this feature.
A mirror dye would be pretty cool too
What does the fox say?
Can we revote? Because that Fractal.. is the worst thing ever.
I like it and the boss is an excellently designed boss. The right Captain won!
Mesmer magic or a glass eye. Def not an oversight
Nope……
I dread to think how triple wurm is now. They had a sweet spot for it 2 days ago. Double health is surely going to be worse than pre patch?

He’ll need his own server at this rate!
Isn’t there at least one other thread floating around about legendary dyes? Now if only the search function would work…
Legendary dyes would at least make a level 500 chef plausible. What else do you need that for?
I’m on the verge of saying “make them account-bound”, too, but then, legendary weapons are not. Mhm…I Imagine something along the lines of Sunrise/Twilight dyes, or a “galaxy” dye, like the one below. Now that would be pretty cool.
“What’s that dye on your armour?” – “Oh, just the NGC 2440 nebula.”
The glow and glassy ones sound amazing, too.
And now I’m gonna go sulk in a corner because I probably won’t be able to afford even one of those, should they ever come, let alone all the ones I want…
I tell you what, should a galaxy dye ever be made (which is a very cool idea), I will help make you one (presuming you are on an EU server)
I think part of the issue is people imagining an actual rainbow. Personally I envision something more like the glows on things like Moot and other effects, which are shiny/silvery with a rainbow tint to them.
If you look at the screenshot attached, ignore everything but the top left corner where there is a rainbow effect in Glints Lair. Something like that or more subtle
I will throw this thread in for reference. I’d request a merge, but your thread title is more appropriate

I resent your opinion of Mr. Gnashblade. He is a respected man and responsible individual. Send Kiel to clean that up. She was the one voted into leadership, after all. Get her to contract some people.
Gnashblade is a Charr..he is not a man. Perhaps it’s his kitty litter!
The only thing that I have is the issue with Axe animation that was changed to something vastly inferior https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/necromancer/Axe-skill-1/first.
It’s not specialisation related so fair play if it’s off topic for feeding back. I’m rather enjoying the recent changes atm. Too soon for me to comment on specifics

How on earth would we know!?
Check the OP’s history. It’s just a list of one line questions randomly posted
There was another request from a guild in a similar situation. The thread is here for ref
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Exceptional-request-from-a-devastated-guild/first
Personally Guild Hall monuments/plaques/statues is something I’d approve for any circumstance of and it could be customised to a Guild’s preference. In this case in memory of your friends
Prob just because there is no tab for it yet and it will appear when HoT goes live
They have stated gliders are for Maguuma Jungle only. They will not function in any other zones.
I’d love to see them in Southson though…
There was a thread suggesting things like rainbow colouring as a legendary dye and thus validating chef as crafting lvl 500.
There were some other suggestions in there like night/day dye
Cause people may want to wait to know more detail the content of the extension before buying?
Which is legitimate, which is why pre-purchase lasts up until launch.
What’s wrong with holding off and waiting for reviews of the expansion post launch? That sounds like something a smart buyer would do. I couldn’t tell you how many games I have bought without waiting for reviews that looked good but turned out to be crap.
Absoltuely nothing wrong with that at all. But, the idea behind a pre-purchase bonus is to tempt people to order early. Plus with beta weekends due, I expect to see reviews earlier than launch, in the same way they were with the core game.
The point in hand is whether it is scandalous or shocking. It isn’t at all. It’s expected practice for an mmo or in fact many games to offer something like this exclusive to a pre-purchase.
I guess I was talking about “Why wouldn’t veteran or loyal players pre-purchase. Surely that’s what veteran and loyal players would be doing by their very nature.”.
Just because you’re a veteran or loyal player doesn’t mean you will throw your money at them without knowing what you will be receiving. If this is a veteran bonus it should be available to veterans whether they prepurchase or make a smart decision and wait for reviews. It instead turned into an incentive to prepurchase and seemingly has nothing to do with helping veterans.
This comes back to how one defines a veteran. Age? Playtime? Does a player who bought at launch, played for 6 months and came back 2 months ago count?
A pre-purchase campaign, a marketing campaign and sales figures can’t make such a distinction.
Veteran is a word thrown about a lot on the forums. usually loosely and without understanding the use of the word either and how it applies. As someone who has been here since headstart and was with GW1 1 year after that launched I’m not entirely sure I understand the relevance of being a veteran or at least in this scenario.
A character slot is claim I can understand, but in the context of the sales quota they are expected to meet before launch I can understand also why they wouldn’t offer it post-launch either. Hence why I say it is neither scandalous or shameful, which really was my point anyway.

scandalous to not have the extra slot even after the release of HOT for Veteran players when you buy this extension ….
Why wouldn’t veteran or loyal players pre-purchase. Surely that’s what veteran and loyal players would be doing by their very nature.
Still not understanding where the shameful or scandalous nature is
