They’re not ugly? Maybe not to your taste, but ugly is most definitely not a word I’d associate with them. And if you find them all ugly, that’s the design style, so chances are you wont like the armour skins either

2 things will happen prob,

1) it will be ignored until it blows over.
2) they will provide additional bonuses, but no announcement will come until they can sit down and discuss, ensure any new items are produced and are ready to add to new and existing purchases. That will happen on their schedule.

Whilst i disagree with of the sentiment across the forums regarding the pricing etc, this i can more empathise with. Pre purchasing info without a release date does seem a bit odd.

Other games give you an exciting homepage to explore if they are announcing an expansion, with Heart of Thorns we get a tiny bit here and a tiny bit there, and if you are not interested much in one of the tiny bits, you have to wait at least a week to maybe get some more information on the stuff you want.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t most companies revealing an expansion spread out the reveals of features and such over time?

Plenty of mmos give much less. Tsw and lotro are increasingly less forthcoming with their additions, altho both have moved away from expacs now

On point, I really like the UI as it is and the design style

For what they were, they were all enjoyable, although Sea of Sorrows wasnt great. Mostly due to an extremely weak lead character.

Loved Ghosts of Ascalon and whislt EoD was the worst written, it was packed full of lore and is one of the best sources on the Dragons we havent encountered.

Id be interested in reading more though.

There was an interesting article on community reactions, concentrating on the over the top metroid reaction this week. The general consensus was that developers tend to find these things blow over and if left alone.

Im not saying thats what will or should happen here, but the precedent is set for these things.

Frankly, selfishly i am in a win/win situation. I have no issues with the preorder price or value whatsoever. However, if this bizarre storm do mean added extras or reduce the price, having already preordered, I can only benefit even more

This is an advertised and pre-planned stream, involving those on the Anet team which absoltuely no involvement in the pricing and marketing of the expac. It would be unfair and incorrect to have them face a QA on any issues arisen in the last couple of days.

And frankly, it will be nice to have a break from it anyway.

If a response is warranted, it needs to come separately from those at the top whose responsibility it is to address concerns on such a scale

Well, we can start a list if it helps. Secret world has done three times with different offers when a new dlc hits and they bundle core and old dlc for less than vets paid. Lotro has done it. I believe Anarchy Online did it a long time ago too with a particular bundle.

Also, anet arent asking vets to pay more in this instance. Its the same price. The core game is free for those needing it. I understand calls for more value to vets, but vets arent paying more money.

Knowing the content of the core game which is (rather, was) worth $50, and comparing it to the content revealed for HoT, I can say it is most definitely not worth $50. More around $25-$30.

Hate to burst your bubble, but we have the evidence that they lied and pulled a bait & switch with their FAQ. Even newer players bought GW2 in anticipation for HoT, rightly believing they would need it to play HoT (as per the FAQ that was later changed obscurely).

I spent £40 on jurassic world lego and was done in a weekend (an enjoyable one mind you)

The same money spent on HoT will get me months of play every day just based on what is revealed so far.

It is what the game is worth to you. To me it is well over and above enough content, but for people to outright claim it is or def isnt, are just talking nonsense. Its value to each person will vary. You are entitled to believe what you wish and spend your money how you choose.

Heart of thorns is an expansion. It costs the same to everyone.

The base game though is free when buying the expansion, much like so many games companies offer. Like when i bought lotro mines of moria and base came free with it years ago. Like countless other games i bought. This offer is a bundle for new players base plus expac.

Feedback to tne company is great. Twisting the facts to support an argument is not.

Purchased the ultimate. Looking forward to the expac. Beta is neither her nor there for me tbh, but Ill prob use it to decide whether my P needs an upgrade. The smoke caused an awful lot of chug during the stress test

Highly unlikely. They have already said they is no boxed edition. Boxed editions are expensive, what with distribution and retail costs. Digital is very much the way forward with the industry and much more so with expacs as more and more MMO’s go the way of download only expacs and DLC.

They have already announced their 3 deals, I can’t see a scenario where they’d announce a fourth at a different time. That wouldn’t make sense, especially as a CE with items requires early planning and would need to have been announced by now.

My main question is can a guild of any size claim them? The guild missions were very much only favourable to mid-large sized guilds.

I like how you have to explore and adventure o claim one, I just hope smaler groups wont miss out

Yep, happy enough with purchase. No issue with price considering the time gotten out of the game.
Would have liked a release date too and can understand some minor frustration about no char slot with normal version, but otherwise all good.

They’ve sold multiple million copies, 1 person wont mean anything to them. They lose/gain customers daily for all sorts of reasons. I doubt they will even notice this thread tbh

All MMO’s have server capacities. Why is it Anets fault that server happens to be full?

Are all newcomers “kittened”? of course not, that is pure hyperbole. Plenty of people join different servers and have fun and engaging gaming sessions.

I think it might be worth a forum specialist rounding up some of the FAQ’s around these 2 threads to make it easier for the devs to answer in a single thread. Lots of good follow up questions (like boon and condition duration) being bandied about, but they are a bit all over the place.

Unless they rebalance bosses, they will be trivialised. Esp teq and jormag who will be obliterated in their phases. Vinewrath bosses will never fail as well.

Triple headed wurm may benefit from greater success rates tho

Im on the side of a separate patch or s3. Too easy for ppl to rush the expac and spoil mordy otherwise, although if he is in the expac, im expecting to need certain masteries to get to him

Ls2 has never been bundled with the core game.

You are safe to buy and yes it is for lvl 80. Be warned, ls1 is not included either nor is it available at all so u will have a story gap in game. There are other threads on that subject tho.

That is still possible, the loot table is massive.
