i am trying to find what are doing these aetherblade pirates in the middle of the eotm ,except stacking me 10 bleeding from the spikes when i am passing their area….

is there any event on them to trigger any boss or they are the usual trash mobs in the middle of the map ?

No event or anything. They are there for the simple purpose of being a bridge in the storyline between WvW and the Living Story. In other words, they are like the Skritt or Centaur you would find in the Borderland map.

oh no . another lost opportunity to be a wvw map real challenge with a boss in the middle and 3 forces around fight each other who will take the last hit to win the big chest loot

To conclude, I think it is safe to say we play in WvW for fun and not rewards. If one is after rewards only, they are in the wrong place. ….

I play defensive and roaming styles and with an organized zerg burst guild during reset. ….

first of all i will start with a question . ok all knows that eotm has better and faster rewards and this make it many times have karma trains , since i know that you are old player ,can you remember what was the situation in wvw maps before 1 year ?

i will answer to avoid misunderstood . oh yeah …. a big karma train !!!

now on the fun part . you can stay and refresh all day the sieges and play the scouter role for your server’s score . i have played in the past the same roles and i have spend tones of gold on upgrades but after each week on reset i didn’t saw anything as reward for my efforts …. anet send you any reward at the end of the week for your efforts in wvw map to help your server ? i don’t think so mate ….

the only reward that i took was when i tagged up with my com character was to asked to tag off because a bigger guild didn’t want to follow a player from a small guild and they tag up their com .

with a few words …. screw wvw , screw guilds in gw2 . there is nothing fun there . only anonymity and disappointment is there . every time i log in any wvw map , it always ends with a disappointment of the bad fights , the lost of tower because there was not enough people to defend it against a blob at 04:00 the night , against hackers that destroying garrison sieges under the map ….

with a few words . long live eotm …!!!

better structures to defend , way better map with no room for hackers ( under the map ) . no LAG and a system that is not draining from you gold / gems , but it only gives you.

p.s. in Europe mate we are not following karma coms , we force them this way to tag off …. it is very simple and it works … many fights , many defends and many lootbags , something that nobody can find constantly in wvw maps anymore !

5 tickets to loosing server

and the poor guys in a every week outnumbered server will earn an ascended accessory ( if the rewards remain like after season 2 ) after …..

40 weeks = almost one year

Communal Defenses : i tested the ideal aegis party ( 4 guards , 1 mesmer ) …what a crap this trait ! the reason is the 360 range and that is not applied to caster.

i prefer to see wvw die than involved again to a system that is outdated and less rewarding than the new one. i care less for my server every day that is passing .

the last weekend i logged most in eotm and i had real fun and good fights and rewards. i went only to my home border to kick some guilds enemy a…s . but these new wvw guilds are so easy to fight against them and i logged off .the only only real challenge that have remained in wvw borders are the godcondition roaming classes that spam poison on every hit ….

anet you should close home borders now …. do not keep alive a dead system or fix it a.s.a.p. !

do you understand what means 25 stacks of might + 25 stack of corruption ? with full celestial armor and weapons this char has* 2900 power , 1750 condition damage , 30% condition duration, 41 % critical change and 198 % critical damage under this full stack of 25 might situation . his toughness is 2500 that is enough under protection boon to absorb any damage.

and ofc the rotation on fire skills is endless ….

*in wvw is more all these stats because of wvw buffs

p.s. note . in the build i posted before you have to add the 25 stacks of might manually to see the increase of 25 might stack and the 25 from corruption sigil

Focus & Shield confusion

i think the guardian shield cast is wrong . should be like sanctuary . you cast it and want escape? you are moving and the shield dome stays behind to protect you for enemies that are hunting you . if you want heal , you are staying and detonate it to heal you and your allies .

also if devs want some serious usage for shield in wvw or spvp they should add the 4 focus skills for the area inside the dome when detonated . blind for the enemies and regen and remove one condition for allies

There’s no skillful gameplay at healing yourself backup easily per cast/sec, traits, weapon skills. With the latest updates bunkers no longer deal low damage specially if they stack might with rune of strength and have good enough crit chance and ferocity. Also, can you say a bunker condition damage built player deals low damage? Hell no. As I mentioned above, every build and profession have their counter. It is either by a different build within the same profession or from another profession playstyle. That has nothing to do with the topic that bunker is too forgiving on gameplay and needs adjustment.

i agree on that . i am not dedicated ele ( i have one 80 lvl for asura power wvw events in my server : aurora glade ) , but i will add my experience against a d/d that had 25 stacks of corruption before the fight and he build 25 stacks of might in under 15 seconds of fight in a ruin .

i died ( 3400 armor and 25k hp ) without even deal some damage on him. the rotation on boons on him and the conditions that applied on me in this time window was extremely fast . i had trait the destruction of empowered for classes that maintain a lot of boons like guardians and eles or any other class .

i had a lot of duels with many eles in the past but this fight was extremely fast . some times i win , some times i loose , but this fight was just a shame . i started searching on Internet the reason of the problem and i found that the 25 might stack increase by 33% both power and condition damage and with unstoppable rotation of att skills that have access an ele makes him overpowered . this ele was smart , he knew how to stack 25 stacks of might and he had only to increase by 250 his condition damage to make the situation … .god mode !

so , devs have something to do here , because maybe you feel lucky that your class has this god-mode , but it is matter of time to all ele share the same build / video to stack 25 stacks of might ( strenth runes + battle sigil + traits + no skill cooldowns + celestials ) + 250 corruption and devs re-act on other classes anger with the wrong way , by destroying your class.

drive devs to the correct changes and not to the wrong changes . i am not an ele expert and i can not say what should be the changes …it is your turn to make a decision on that problem.

Oh no! If they shutdown the forums where would we go to communicate with the dev’s about all the upcoming changes to WvW? Oh wait…

It is so cute when people seems to imply that they never listen to feedback.

Every single change made to WvW after release was based on feedback and stuff demanded on these forums.

A progression system in WvW – WXP ranks added.
A new map – EOTM added.
A way to play WvW while maps are queued – EOTM added.
A way to join EB JP without queuing for EB – Make OS a separate map joinable from everywhere.
Able to see queue-size – Add said information to the interface.
A place for GvG – Remove stat-bonuses from OS.

How is this not listening to feedback?

i don’t want be optimist but also they created new problems/bugs :

  1. nothing changed in the current wvw maps design …..
  2. overpowered arrow-carts ( fixed when some wvw guilds left )
  3. overpowered bloodlust buff ( fixed but after the usual delay )
  4. overpowered condition builds
  5. immobilized bugs never fixed and added new immobilized bugs
  6. they screwed every skill / combo for cleans of conditions just to attract more players to wvw from spvp . they failed so far , because wvw population is dropping not increasing.
  7. they changed the runes /sigils and now some classes can stack up of 25 stacks ( 33% more power + 33% more condition damage ) of might alone …..
  8. nothing changed at wvw rewards , at least similar to eotm rewards .so, many wvw players now choose eotm and not wvw to play .

i will not add more of these that never changed because your statement based on the eotm map and if you think better what you wrote you will understand that everything they did had different result …. eotm just destroyed wvw . eotm never improved the wvw , because it is open to anyone and in any condition . no need to have queues in wvw to enter eotm !

cleansing ire is a trait that removes total of 3 conditions every time the F1 skill used AND HIT !!! . the most of conditions builds/classes spam much more than 3 conditions in this time window ….

WvW is a joke, it’s in such a sad state. It’s all karma trains and jumping from one map to the next because most servers can’t field the numbers to have more than one map defended.

So if you see numbers on the map, you flip to a map without them and fight NPC’s. BORING, BORING, BORING.

Desolation wvw unfriendly to low levels

I used to play GW2 a fair amount and did some of my levelling through wvw I was there when all the guilds abandoned Deso last year and left us guildless scrubs to battle through – it was fun if a tad disorganised, no one was EVER turned away. In all honesty I don’t even think Deso would be near the top of the wvw if it wernt for the large numbers PUG’s keeping it going through that time.

So I really disappointed to discover things have changed – a friend staying for the weekend asked if she could try out GW2 before she bought – as I don’t really play now I signed in to a lowish level character she wanted to try whilst I played something else and we chatted – she went to wvw – it was 4 am in the morning with very little action apart from a couple of groups, wanting to heal mainly she tagged along with a group to take down a garrison – she was summarily told by someone from TEQ to ‘stop following our group around with her crap uplevelled character’ she pointed out she was actually just following the action and learning how to heal.

Im sorry but I don’t think Guilds have any right to demand ownership of a game area like wvw – she wasn’t doing any harm and is now saying she is put off the game for the unfriendly attitude.

I don’t blame her, I think its a shame.

for all these reasons anet should restrict the access to eotm and only for up-level chars ….

wvw for many gamers is the end game and it is the only thing in-game to make them log every day and also the zerg /gvg mechanisms make the game-play very demanding from the players and an up-level char can not offer to any group ……

so, be logical and listen your server . do not follow them if they don’t want !

p.s. to be honest , i played with my uplevel char in the past in wvw but i never followed a com or a gvg raid because i knew that i will give them only troubles .i man the sieges in defending fights or killing sentries or spying enemies moves , things that nobody harms except me if i die

PPT would be interesting if it wasn’t a totally broken mechanic. Right now it is only a measure of coverage.

Figures that if they didn’t fix it in years they aren’t gonna fix it now.

and this can fixed if they add to guild claims in wvw objects a real meaning .

your guild claimed an object ?

  1. your guild members can place sieges inside this object in a 60% ratio of total allowed sieges . these sieges have 24 hours decay time and all others allies have the other 40% of the total allowed sieges to build wherever they want
  2. guilds earn huge amount of influence ( like this that the guild will earn after a daily activity of their members in pve ) if they successfully hold this object for 24 hours
  3. after 24h the claim auto released and can reclaimed from any guild including the same guild

coverage problem from guild ? no problem at all. 500 men slot for tier 6 guild and there is not any problem …. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild

coverage is and was a myth because everyone observes the problem from server side view , but it is and was always guild problem .

and so on …. the total number of influence that earn a guild from wvw ( not only from claims , but from kills too ) it will give the wvw score for a guild ……

but , this will never happened , because the “brilliant” minds that designed the wvw wanted wvw has only gvg guilds ( to earn gems from transfers , lol ) and pug commanders just to control it and not real WAR guilds …

they are controlling it , so far , but now this control is out of their hands … the wvw population dropped dramatically and even T1 servers have night coverage in europe at least where i am playing and the gvg covers a very small part of wvw population right now . nobody wants jailed in a guild with 5 days schedules raids and a dictator-ism leadership just to have zerg fights and win or give nothing else other than loot bags

p.s.

someone will say if they add this system the towers will never change hands ,but the same is happening now !

yesterday night we were 6 total players in my server against a roaming zerg of 20 enemies . we bunker the garrison only and only to not loose the waypoint and we didn’t care for any other object . they captured our towers and we didn’t took back them for all night ….. and was …. A FRIDAY RESET NIGHT ….. 6 players and only for all wvw maps !!! the third server had zero players. they lost everything at night

Edit: In no way do I want NCSoft to gain money that they don’t deserve but for the sake of WvW getting some attention, I feel that this should be discussed.

i will quote only on this and i will answer in personal base , not what i am hearing from others.

personal i want from devs to put some logic in their actions ….

examples :

1.. maintenance oil …. materials cost : 25 gold . what it offers ? for 5-10 min everyone take for 1,5 hour something that alone can craft / buy with 10 silver .

why someone to craft or buy something with so huge materials cost for only 1,5 hour ? to help others ? are you kitten me dear dev ?

2. trinkets . there some situations where an exotic trinket + upgrade has better and more useful stats than ascended . i am not going deep on this but there are and posted in official forums too.

3. wvw rewards : all rewards are not changed at all after eotm …. the only reason to stay in wvw maps is for server’s pride , not for rewards .after megaserver system this pride is going lower day by day ….

4. armor looks . personal view : armors in TP. except krytan , everything is total garbage . there is not an single armor look to make feel a player for his character a real medieval warrior . all are fancies , lights and not as good as the most of dungeon armors.

5. salvage wvw weapon/armor . i really can not find a single reason , why can not salvaged something that the player spend gold to take it …. lower the materials incoming to not pass the gold cost dear dev , do not forbid it please .

6. exotic vs ascended stats : the time and money that someone spends to craft ascended is not noticed anywhere in game . right now a 10 men with exotic overkill 5 men with ascended ….easy . this is a real bad game design example .there are more but i don’t want name them now .

7. professional behavior : i don’t want see again photo from devs to play with anet icon in any wvw server. this behavior lowers the respect for them . you want involved ? create a /gm chat and speak with anyone by this way when you want to communicate with players like all other mmo companies do. there is a reason for this distance between players and devs / gm . this called professional behavior.

8,9, etc …. i can write wall of texts but i stop here.

so for the main question what i want from them to buy ?

the answer is: fix the problems that created your illogical stance against players / game and i/we ( this is something that most of people say ) will buy gems again . we will find ways to spend them or not ….. until now , i bought gems only to help the game , not because i really need them ……

That sums up pretty well one of the reasons why megaservers is a big fail in Europe, force to play with a bunch of people you can’t communicate with!

and most of the greeks we are very polite to not start speaking in our greek-english slang ….

So I put it to you guys… Is the Megaserver a +1 or a -1 to you?

I recommend ANET perform any one of these suggested changes to hopefully fix the issue:

1. Remove Home Servers and bring back the GW1 Style server system. For WvW it would just become another EotM Style system, but them WvW tournaments would become redundant…
2. Remove the Megaserver completely.
3. Allow players to set whether they want to see players in Megaserver mode or in Homeserver mode. So you can only see people from the same server as you (or even just put their names in a different colour so you can identify them).

4. and my personal favourite: Take away the charge for switching server and allow free transfer, with a penalty of 1-week ban from WvW borderlands.

5. OR introduce a new Free Switching service which allows players to switch server ONCE per month for free, additional switches will cost.

What do you guys think? Any other suggestions on what Anet can do to fix the MEGA-Mess-Server

Anet can make every server’s lion arch as the server home . all will be happy again.

the megaserver system is good addition for the general pve map or dungeons , but for guild recruitments and the new style of events with tiers is a real curse

I’ve tried Reddit, These forums and in game.

let’s say that 15 % of the users of GW2 actually use reddit to read Gw2 related stuff.
Let’s say that of that perhaps 2% read the recruitment messages.

That’s a whole lot of nothing.
In game you rarely find someone that’s looking for a guild still that’s on your server.
How are guild supposed to recruit members for WvW if 90% of the people they play with either already have a guild, or they are from another server (PvE map recruiting).

Isn’t anyone else running into this?
Anet? any insight here?

Easy way to go about this, what is exactly is PPT based on? What is the biggest factor in it’s total? If you’ve come to the conclusion that it’s coverage & population, so PPT is based on population and coverage, and the current system of population and coverage is imbalanced and/or broken..

Then PPT is in fact broken, this isn’t debatable. It is fixable however. This isn’t an opinion but complete fact, and an unfortunate reality.

If PPT wasn’t based on population and coverage but more so decided by skill, then you can easily argue that PPT isn’t broken because it’s soley based on what players can do either as individuals or a group.

As I’ve posted in several other threads (because I’m a sado-masochist who just LOVES having suggestions fall on the deaf ears of the devs), here are my suggestions for making PPT more about skill than coverage and numbers:

1) Players in combat mode may not resurrect defeated allies.

2) The gates of towers, keeps, and Stonemist Castle upgraded to the “Fortify” state (T3) can not be damaged by player skills. Only siege weapons can deal damage to these gates.

3) World Score points are awarded to the server which succeeds in capturing an actively defended objective. Actively defended is defined as at least one player who belongs to the world which owns the objective having been present within the objective’s sphere of influence (the “Defend the X” event radius) at any point during the current siege; they do not have to be present at the moment of capture. Each objective awards a base amount of World Score points on capture plus additional World Score points for each completed upgrade built at the objective.

4) No World Score points are awarded to a server for capturing undefended objectives (PvDoor will award nothing).

5) No personal rewards (loot, experience, karma, etc.) are given to players for capturing undefended objectives. The current rewards for capturing supply camps, towers, keeps, and Stonemist Castle will only be given out when capturing an actively defended objective (per the definition given in #3). To give even greater incentive for attacking actively defended fortifications, perhaps scale up the rewards based on the number of upgrades built at the objective.

6) The rewards for defeating real players are substantially increased over their current level.

7) World Score points are awarded for each player defeated in combat by default rather than being an award associated with the Bloodlust Buff. Maybe even give a bonus for stomps; sending a player to defeat without stomping awards 1 World Score point, stomping awards 2 World Score points.

8) Supply camps, towers, keeps, and Stonemist Castle no longer earn World Score points for the owning server unless upgrades are built there. The amount of World Score points earned every 15 minutes (PPT) will scale with the number of upgrades; the more upgrades built, the more PPT an objective earns.

9) For each “Defend the X” event completed at an actively defended supply camp, tower, keep, or Stonemist Castle, the owning server earns World Score points. In recognition of the fact that the defenders have the advantage, the World Score points awarded will be a fraction of what the attacker would earn on capturing the objective; a 10-to-1 ratio is suggested as a starting point.

For example, if capturing a keep with some upgrades would award 50 World Score points to the attackers, the defenders will earn 5 World Score points for each “Defend the X” event successfully concluded at the keep. This only applies while there are players belonging to the world which owns the keep actively defending it; the owning world earns nothing if there are no players defending the keep during any 3 minute “Defend the X” event.

The above shifts WvW from passive rewards (earning PPT by sitting on empty, unupgraded objectives while PvDooring) to active rewards for engaging in conflict with real players and/or making investments in and defending one’s holdings while also addressing the issues of karma training and zerging.

i agree with most but i will give a tip . do not use it in zerg fights against a lot of heavy armor players that are full of retaliation .

it is good for roaming , but it can return to curse to zerg fights

i checked theory craft and i found that stealth + 50% reduce damage can help a lot in this situation.

i based the craft that com needs , 3000+ armor , around 1000 healing power to have very good hp refill from the guardians and good vitality + conditions removal while in stealth ….

i will check it in www too because i found it very funny to stay unaffected from conditions and from melee train burst damage a thief . i hope it works ….

the com needs any a rune that gives healing power . i used the altruism for offensive boons to his allies with low cooldown ( 10 sec ) , maybe grove is better for stacking protection . i really don’t know what is better for thief .

for – conditions food can also used the loaf of saffron bread because it reduces much more the inc damage while stunned , stuck and have -20% cond damage too .

i know it sucks its power damage , only 916 but i based my build on conditions* + spam venom on enemies and 4 stealths ( from steal , from blinding powder and from combo pistol 5 key + blast from shortbow – 2 key and one from trait if you attacked with 10% damage on you ) . the stealths i think is the key to stay a alive a thief in front line , because of -50% damage while in stealth.he is taking it from the trait . someone can rip the one venom and add the smoke screen for more stealths (blast) + blinds …. but i think the regen that gives the healing signet is better for this situation to rip it for hide in shadows.

in battle i think this com should start with dagger storm to pick up the 10 sec of stability and reflect the first big damage and create the first combo with wirl .

p.s. the only problem i think is your mates that will have some problems stay close to you while in stealth or trying to stay close to you when you use shadow strike to avoid the front line damage

i have a full ascended guardian ( my first and beloved ), one semi ascended warrior ( both spec power and cond build ) and a cond thief full cond with only exotic on him .

with power guardian alone i need to use the tricks to capture the camp , with power warrior it is semi -easy , with cond warrior is easy and with cond thief i am walking on mobs …cond thief with krait is very powerfull : stealth and pew pew 1 key … way to big damage + bleed stacks

soz typo for the difference of boons duration ( total 20% , not 15% ), but i have both guardians and warriors and for front-line zerg battles is selfish but better “driver” than guardian while guardian is better boon manager .

with warrior now , i can jump inside zerg without problem , while with my guardian i need stay in boon/heal range to not destroyed from burst damage. before April’s patch i could do the same with guardian but now , i have not find a way to do it without destroyed from zerg conditions .

the selfish part of warrior is not bad , because his mistakes or from his allies are not so much affect him as much affect guardian.

+ that the “kitten.ing” tab always choose guardian , not warriors …… check it

after april’s patch , you are not taking any + boon duration benefits if you are using 2 same from 3 different runes . it is the same if you used one full set ( +15% boon duration ).

mace shield is better with much more healing power because is for bunker close face 2 face combat and you need this +healing power more to heal better you and your allies near you with dodges from selfess daring .

with the thought , that you are new player ( because of only exotic usage ) and you have limits on crafting ( ascended ) to spend more money ( way much more ), i changed it a bit the build to be more healing spec . you need to buy only the recipe to craft the celestial upgrade , because it is account bound ( it is still cheap : http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/43800 and the quartz crystals , cheap too : http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/43773 ) and i changed a bit the trait , one sigil ( for +healing power ) and the skills.

So, in answer to the OP’s specific WvW query, I’d like to put forward:
Badger Spirits [BS] – NA/International on Desolation .. these guys take tactical WvW to the next level.

I guess we have to make another list at who’s the best at nightcapping, golem rushing, arrowcart building, and all around siege wars, to determine who is the best “WvW” guild. Unless I’m very much mistaken PPT is a pointless mechanic in which very few people still play purely for that reason, which is, I assume, why people mention the best fighting guilds.

in WvW , there are only PPT heroes and nothing else .

official leaderboards link has server WvW points and only the gvg scene is in a unofficial state , now . if they add gvg game mode in WvW with points from fights then the best in fights will have a meaning for other people in the game and for their server. until then , there are only PPT heroes

I love it when people try and ignore GvG like it’s not there simply because it’s “unofficial”. Can’t come up with a solid argument against GvG, just say it’s unofficial and it’s done! GvG may be dying now, but PPT died long ago. Those who still play for PPT are either on T1 servers or are too new to wvw to know it’s the most flawed mechanic in the game. The vast majority will never accept PPT as a viable game mode until population imbalances are addressed, which likely won’t ever happen,

in this build you can clean the conditions only with purging flames once every 28 seconds and from 3rd water rune 1 cond every 30 sec with 25% chance + 1 cond with purity sigil with 30% chance …

so with this build you depend your survivability from conditions from other guardians to use trooper rune + pure of voice to clean your conditions ….

+ that you use hammer for the alter weapon and not mace + shield that is way better for healing specs or a second staff with different sigils …..

next season should start on September-October ( after the gw2 birthday pve content ) and last in spring of 2015 .all servers will play with all and in every match the servers will change their color .all servers should play equal times with all and with all combinations .

all will start with zero points and home borderlands ( not uplevel characters allowed enter to prevent spies and mor-rons ) will be opened only in prime time for 3 hours like eotm’s time window . the eb /eotm will be open 24/7 as now …. rip the leagues categories . all servers are equals if they have not so many maps to fill with players .

also the mobs and the keeps will have same like eotm hp/toughness and level and the same rewards ….

rewards from season will be account based and not server based ….. more you played more rewards you will gain from season result …. that means even in the last server the rewards from season for a player that accomplished same missions ( missions / captures / defenses / player-npc kills ) will have equal rewards with a player from the first server , the only difference will be only achievements points ( reward every week . so total reward after season will be better for first , then second ..etc ) + dollies – miniatures / cosmetic items

If someone is running Celestial, I can’t see why they wouldn’t consider running Divinity runes as well; they both improve your baseline stats. Of course, I would question the use of celestial in the first place.

agree . i trapped now in my guardian with some ascended celestial + divinity and i am too lazy and old to spend time to craft new armor to change it.

i can not imagine any reason to use a new guardian the divinity runes now and either the celestial can not save the bad stats from divinity …..

@OP i think some other classes can still have benefits from celestials + divinity ,like eles , but i am not playing too much other classes to speak . if you don’t play other classes sell them because the price of divinity if they are not change it will drop more in the near future .

PS: I have win 7 64 bits (I saw someone asking about it)

better ,add more RAM … you need more ram for win 7 64bit . gamebooster and all utilities that change the registry have a risk of damaged operating system .

Like Tink said the problem is your processor. You just gotta turn settings down in WvW, that’s the only solution.

(Unless you want to try Reborn’s sound solution. I’ve always wondered if the sound was what caused issues. My game just recently started crashing and sound does linger like he said. I’m going to try the -nosound option to test. But I don’t think I feel like going to the extent of getting an external sound card. If GW2 is so badly optimized that sound causes the issue then its not worth playing if you have to jump through so many hoops)

i never said that the sound coding was bad , but it is not so good optimized when someone enters wvw . when i did my analysis i used some tools like process explorer and lasso to find how many inner threads opens the gw2 executable for sound card and i found they are way too many and that they are not changed at all between pve and wvw.

all knows that the mmos need good cpu , and if someone find a way to lower the computation requirements of cpu then the cpu performs better , because it will have lower computations to complete in the same time. this what -nosound doing. it lowers the total computation requirements ( disables all computations for in-game sounds ) and the cpu performs better .

i have a friend that plays with a i3 cpu ( but with 6 gb ram in win 7 64 bit ) and he is now using all the time the -nosound option in wvw because he never had again lag or lag spike in zerg fights .

all the players in wvw should have a 5 seconds immune on each 5 seconds of immobilize ( i think the most time on immobilize skills is 4 seconds ) , to prevent all these traits/environment bugs/exploits .

a mesmer once immobilized me for over 20 seconds , saved me defy pain and defiance stance , but for only 20 sec…. no stability skill and no berseker stance worked under this exploit, it reapplied instantly ……

can do the same with a hammer, dunno why people keep using that argument for shield… you’re using one weapon simply for one classes utility skill… much value.

Zealot’s Embrace is a channeled spell, it will follow the thief if casted before stealth, if you can get a fire sigil proc you can see his location, then banish him.

shield can used best with concentrate/cleric builds to create good pressure in choke points ( gates , bridges, walls in wvw ) or maybe from pug zerg commanders with the new tvh stats to create a safe for 5 seconds area for him and around him .

for me shield usage is ideal with mace and conc builds …. but i don’t like mace and cleric builds and i have send my asc shield to my warrior for ever

your pc is fine except ram if you are using win 7/8/8.1 64 bit ( 6gb ram for gaming pc in 64bit Win OS ) , and i am sure your settings are not too optimized for wvw play …..

People CHOOSE to have only 1 commander tag up, there’s nothing stopping you having more and devide the zerg in 2, 3, 4... while still having small groups going around sniping stuff, that’s a dangerous quest for you, go take all the enemy supply camps in EB.

This is exactly the kind of thing they should try in EotM, you know that map they created after so many people complained about how week long battles were stupid and night cap was killing it and they should do shorter smaller scale stuff? The one that players grabbed hold on and immediately turned into farm fest and Anet doesn’t nerf because there be no end to complains?

mesmer. you need 2 classes that can stealth the gp to get away from zergs and stealth rez. Mesmer also provide cover for the other 2 classes with the clones. Adding another class without stealth may be better on paper but trust me you will want the extra stealth to dodge zergs.

I heard the Chinese servers have 4 additional maps that rotate in and out. And different color commander tags. And no nightcapping.
