…it’s already been posted..and it was the first topic in this forum..with the exact name as the video
From my POV a very interesting character that should have connections to what is happening is this dude: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Malyck
He apparently wasn’t born with a “dream”. That means he has no attachments to a queen cabbage anywere in the world. That also means he will either have an important role against the dragon which controls cabbages but somehow can’t control him..OR he will be controlled.
If ANet won’t use the dragon’s affinity for the cabbage people together with a very interesting character like Malyck which doesn’t obey by any sylvari laws, it would be a big mistake in my opinion. It’s the perfect opportunity to showcase something completely different from the “sylvari” we know.
If they indeed don’t use him and we get to a point where we meet him….what will be he’s answer to “warn’t u effected by the dragon?” …. “Sry was out of range” would be pathetic.
Also remember Faolin & the nightmare court are actively looking for him…
Maybe he was also experimented on by the asuras and that’s why he doesn’t remember anything and woke up in a trench. Sounds like one of your typical drunk nights.

@Rabe that’s what i am in doubt also because of the lighting in the trailer. If i pause it step by step the video i am not sure if Caithe was human or silvari before. Was it a human turning cabbage or was it a cabbage turning into an upgraded cabbage.
Another theory is “Caith” sniffing the weed is not actually caith, but us as characters. Taking a sniff from that apparently “good sh**” will make us have images of Caith’s past…….that and pink elephants and unicorns.
@GscGunner what’s the age of the cabbages? Not sarcastic i am honestly not sure. Remember Caith i think is considered one of the first born….so she’s basically a carrot or even a potato level rank-wise. The birth of the “pale tree” if u remember was a cutscene in GW1 during one of the Elona quests. Can’t remember exactly the name. Well..atleast 1 of the pale trees considering the geographic region where the cutscene takes place is not the same as the area where the pale tree we know is right now. It’s been confirmed there are multiple pale trees.

Zhed’s dead, baby. Zhed’s dead.
As i said, it’s a glimps into the past. Who knows when they met.
So what i understood from the trailer
- Flashback
- How the Asura treated the Silvari (i think when they first discovered them)
- The experiments seem to have been done on Faolin first (the tiedup electrocuted Silvari has the same haircut as Faolin)
- Caith and Faolin where old friends. Dunno what weed they have in that place but Caith transformed just by sniffing it.
- Most of the discussions between them took place in the capital of the cabbage people. This means they are flashbacks to before Faolin turned evil&stuff..showing another side of the Silvari we know as being evil&stuff..the original side of her. Common attempt to make us have things called “feelings” for certain characters. Will most likely fail…considering the amount of hate most of us have towards the cabbage people for completely monopolizing this game& story around them.
- Faolin might have detached herself from the main Cabbage queen during that experiment just like Scarlet…together with other cabbages there.
- Caith wasn’t experimented on but saved her friend Faolin. Since then Faolin was changing slowly and trying to bring Caith to her side.
- The centaur part i think it’s still from her memory and i have a very strong feeling the main centaur who they are talking too is: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Zhed_Shadowhoof
- Zhed is an iconic GW1 character. He is an elementalist. During the video u can see he has a staff + uses earth magic.
This episode practically shows Caith’s past in an attempt to make us understand why she stole the egg.
What my 2 cents on the story is: Caith stole the egg in an attempt to use it’s power to save Faolin from the possible corruption of the dragon considering she is much more susceptible to it because of the early asura experiments.

Pretty much. That’s why i never got attached to any of these new Destiny’s Edge 2 characters. They are all lame.
In general any kind of filler….arcs and such things are boring as Fk.
If this boss fight was too hard for u, that means Farmville is next level tactics for u also.
All i know is i am getting tired of this “Silvari Wars 2” game. Bunch of over-glorified cabbages.
mmos = no lot no care. Give a donkey a carrot and he will run after it. If there’s no carrot, even a donkey is smart enough to not bother.
Are u less smart then a donkey?
Fun detected….well u know the rest.
O waw……i am impressed at the detective work done. I know that npc but completely forgot about him. Thumbs up..definitely interesting.
Maybe the pink moa he saw in the past was made by Anise ?
Omelet of the Gods!
And who will vanish next? Zojja, Eir or Logan?
We’ll need to come up with catchphrases for them. Rytlock’s journey has only just begun, and Caithe will bear somebody’s pain. What about the others?
I really hope the whole edge of destiny will go rogue and we have to kill them. Would be finally something really good.
…Traherne
What makes me giggle is they actually try to make it sound like it’s something huge for the game. Last time there was an ESL finals competition or whatever, i joined 1h after it started the stream just to give it a shot.
Not only was it boring as F, but the viewer number was around 200-300 ppl. Minecraft streams have 10x more.
…but hey let’s invest in something a handful of people are actually interested and let’s just skip the main game.
Well…whatever it is, let’s hope it’s more then a 20 min story.
What’s so “deep” about it?
“Oh well guys we made a nice map…but nobody cares about it anymore because we fixed the chest bug (completely removed any incentive to play that map instead of making a smarter change). What should we do now? we don’t have the funds to make a new map for the next 5 months”
“Don’t worry about it…give them a carrot(item) and make them suffer for it. It should populate the map and we get to scratch our balls more”
That’s kinda the “deep” thoughts that go into making an episode. I love how they always “change/fix” the things we like.
- We liked chests, they nerfed them so much most of us think it’s a waste of time and energy now.
- We liked the fact that we could get the new set items by playing the story, they again completely removed it and replaced it with even more grinding on top of the already existing grinding.

Something that i see a lot of people haven’t noticed since the last LS.
Caithe’s Blossom (the ascended accessory u get from the previous LS) has this quote under it: “I’m done with your games, and I’m finished with you. I am not your dearheart.”
I don’t think it’s related to Faolin. I think it’s related to the Pale Tree. This is what made me expect something bad from her ever since the last LS..but i wasn’t expecting it this fast.
Anyway….kids…what did we learn from GW2 today? Preemptive deforestation is a good thing! <and the kids go yaaaaay>
Because they are literally desperate to get people to play the map they nerfed. Just a handful left there. So how do u entice people to play your content? Why fix when u can force them to grind.
I want one of those “we want to communicate and hold hands” anet staff to come here and clarify this.
Do u intend to force us to play a map we no longer like because of the nerf and are desperately looking for ways to make us come back to it in order to get the items or is it a bug and we should have obtained the other gloves through the story via our alts that sit there and collect dust?
(edited by Rebound.3409)
Just make characters that are under the “dead” state not count towards upscaling or in case the boss/event is already upscaled because of the initial numbers, just make it auto-adguest taking in consideration the extra factor of “state:dead”
Plot Twist: Rytlock becomes evil and we have to fight him.
That would be the lamest and saddest plot twist even a kindergarden could come up with
If they will be bought back, the changes to it (to accommodate the GW2 style) will be so massive, u won’t recognize them. Even so i would like a new class.
This thread reminds me why the “Half-Life 3 confirmed” tinfoil hat community exists.
Kormir was actually blinded. One of Abaddon’s demons ate her eyes.
This^
…and oh my god yes. I am genuinely more excited to see the rytlock sidestory rather then the dragon thing. I had no clue that picture was out there. I am hyped. I prefer them releasing this content over the dragon….so far it’s boring. WELL MADE…but boring. Only good part about the main story is the fact u got to see some GW1 stuff in it. Other then that..meh.
I already knew about the egg..about glint..we already know there’s a dragon..we already know something’s up with the dude caring the egg. From now on i consider it just filler..
…but Rytlock..u have no clue what went wrong, where he went, what happened there, who did he meet…also the fact that his sidestory has really deep roots inside GW1 and he is much more loved the most characters ingame. The ryt sidestory has huge potential over the dragon main story which is sad if u ask me.

I still hope for the unicorn.
Hmmm, intereesting yea i kinda forgot the details of that trailer. Yea that might be the case.
If u want to consider “extremely amused” as being offended in order to make u feel like u win a conversation, sure why not :P i am “offended”
There’s no evidence so far that it doesn’t…..and if there is it’s just baseless speculation. U could very well state iluminati is inside that egg and when it hatches what will come out of it is death on a unicorn that spits out double rainbows out it’s ahole while singing oprah.
How do u know he is in the south west if the new map opened up above and the plant thing that we don’t have access too yet, is in the top left corner of the map implying it would open up to an upper area?
Not saying u are wrong, but i don’t see what gives u the certainty he is there. Maybe i missed some piece of info.
It’s funny how offended people seem to be that i didn’t say it picture perfect.
@Zaklex yes i am perfectly aware there’s more then 1. I remember perfectly well how many “Tequetals” we fought trying to get to Zhaitan They were all the same…but multiple indeed.
I will keep my initial idea…that the thing they showed in the trailer, that is just 2 times at best bigger then a human is NOT a dragon champion. Maybe a legendary or champion trash. It depends on each person’s view what he considers to be a champion or not.
He also is in no way Mordi like the poster initially thought but u deviated the initial idea. If he is indeed Mordi or a dragon champion (which i already stated which is in my opinion), i would be extremely disappointment. Nothing epic about it.
(edited by Rebound.3409)
Yes it’s the case. U are mistaking the “champion” terminology here. I am not referring to the ingame regular trash “champion” nobody cares about..it’s just in your way, but to the “second in command” or whatever u want to call it. U get what i am saying now? The champion..champion. The big dude second in command to the big boss. Like Teq is to Zhaitan, Claw is to Jormag, Purple dragon is to Krakaltorik…that’s how the dragon we fought in the previous living story is to Mordi. And let’s be serious Mordi can’t be less impressive then Zhaitan…..like the thing we saw in the trailer. That’s a bit over human size basically.

Another theory that can be added to what i said above is he is willing to dumbly sacrifice the egg in a stupid attempt to make a deal with the dragon in order for his people to be safe. Yea…there’s the possibility the story could go into that stupid direction.
A dragon champion is the size of tequatl of claw of jormag or krakaltoric minidude. That’s like a barely hatched starving to death dehidrated on the verge of death dragon compared to the dragon champions out there.
99% sure the flower power champion is the dude we fought in the silvari capital.
The Nornbear wasn’t much bigger than a regular Norn.
The Dragonspawn was rather small as well.Captain Whiting was human sized and Morgus Lethe was Norn-sized. The Eyes of Zhaitan weren’t really that big either.
Size != Power.
The poster was asking if that thing was mordramoth…and i said no, it’s a regular mob and mordreamoth’s champion is the minidragon we fought in the previous living story. Ho was that wrong? All your listings just prove what i said lol.
“as soon as the mordrem started to cause imbalance in the world, the Master of Peace seemed to head directly to Glint’s lair and acquire a dragon egg.”
How do u know that dude didn’t have the egg before?..maybe right after glint died? i don’t think we know when he received the egg.
Also if he is trying to protect the egg, why is he running towards the big bad dragon who wants to eat it? Literally every step he took was towards the dragon…lol
He either wants to give the egg to the big bad dragon and the whole story falls under the cliche “oh the guy who we thought wanted peace, double rainbows and hugs in the world actually hated everyone” and the zaphyrites were misslead and will feel lost after they find out. OR illuminati theory: he knows we will defeat the dragon and he wants to use the dead dragon’s energy to powergrow the egg.

That is 100% not a teragrif. If it is it’s some evolved version of it. Just go ingame and compare the movie to a teragrif
Personally the decision to make all game classes was that i got tired of trying to find out which class is OP and feel bad after finding out at a certain point in the game if i had another class it would have been much better.
GW2 is the easiest mmo to levelup in..u fart in this game and u make a lvl. That’s why i decide fk it, i will just grind all classes, equip them decently and be ready for literally any situation.
Besides this, if i ever get bored i can always change my gaming experience a bit by choosing another class.
This also gave me the opportunity to explore the GW2 world and notice stuff i might not have noticed on my first run.
Nice trailer. Impressed.
Yup, i misunderstood the timings. Read about it on the wiki after. Dunno why i had the impression it was 200y ago. My bad
The more interesting question is who gave the egg to the Peace guy. Either someone/thing other then the dragon gave the egg to the Master of Peace guy, or that dude is over 200 years old.
That’s why the last question of the LS was “did u see who gave it to him?”

I am sorry u don’t get solo friendly content in an massive multiplayer online game.
The personaly story can be soloed tho.
I will bash the F out of this game when it deserves to be bashed and i will compliment it when it deserves to be complimented. This patch is amazing and i praised them for it….but if they don’t continue giving us stuff of this quality be sure i will be here bashing left and right.
This release of LS is filled with positive reviews because they did an outstanding job and i fully agree with that.
Now they saw what makes us tick…they have to continue it.
Review by a GW2 basher.
- Full map unlock at once, not in several stories – VERY good
- Fun map that doesn’t have mechanics like the dust cloud that even if cool it can be very irritating and heavy on the PC – VERY good
- Map also combines multiple systems from all over the game….specifically PvE with WvW style content. This not only makes wvw players feel good in a pve map but also teaches PvE players the important basic mechanics and principles behind them, from WvW. Yet they are not hard, actually fun and relaxing to do. – VERY good
- Item drops/rewards are finally at a level that make u want to do the events. Also the farm bad effect is reduced by having lots of events, happening very fast, that require a group by default to finish in general AND some that can be done solo like escorting yaks – VERY good
- Specific rewards (aka new armor set and others) are not obtained via heavy grinding + mats + 10 other things. The system ANet implemented is actually smart and finally makes use of the collectable achievement thingy + encourages you to finish the extra achievements after u do the living story – VERY good
- Specific rewards (aka new armor set) is divided and rewarded over multiple LS episodes starting with this one. This means by the end of the dragon i imagine we will have the whole set unlocked. This in my eyes is a major milestone from a reward point of view. Finally what u do matters both for the world via the events and groups AND you get rewarded with something memorable and useful (armor) that actually makes you feel good about yourself and doesn’t need biblical grinding – VERY good
- The story itself, altho most of us did predict what would happen with the egg and all that, it still was a very good implementation and i think impressed a majority of people – VERY good
- The Easter eggs found in the LS have been well planned out and just enough to make u feel nostalgic of the events that took place in GW1. Was a very nice surprise and i think i spent more time in the library reading/looking then playing the crystal thingy – VERY good
- Overall the extra LS achievements are easy to do and do not require you to group up. That is also a very big plus. They seem much more fine tuned compared to the past ones. – VERY good
Because of all the systems&tweeks above, they also indirectly made the LS seem longer because of all the “stuff” that needs to be done. Also the fact that the “stuff” is spread well, over a big map, that isn’t filled with WPs and also isn’t a heavy repetitive grind, makes the experience actually nice.
The bad that could appear:
- After some time the map can empty. Dunno how a low number of players will be able to do everything in the new map. Time will tell
- It’s EXTREMELY important, the next LS even doesn’t take place in 2-3 months from now. This LS was really beautifully made…but ANet has to deliver equal or better content compared to this at a decent time frame….aka MAX 1 month in my eyes.
*A shoutout to the designers for the beautiful map, awesome NEW mobs (finally), awesome story and events and for finally giving LS – PROPER rewards & drops that actually make me want to play the content.
*A shoutout to the composers and audio team. I dunno how many of u noticed, but the music they made for this map literally triples the good mood u have in it. Exceptional work on the audio part and hope to see more.
PS – now that u have this type of reward system (aka armor – collectable unlock) u should consider offering us the precursor scavenge hunt as soon as possible. It’s overdue 2 years almost. U have literally everything u need to put it in….and it’s working.
Even if there was progress they wouldn’t let u know till the final phase. I can assure u even they want to release it as a re-playable content. Problem is they didn’t have the right tools when they first made S1. S2 is a different story.
It has it’s good sides and bad sides. On the long run, the lower that map’s population gets, having no WP gets irritating.
It’s sad enough it states the LS story might make u yawn. Dat marketing.
@lordkrall no, this is a perfect example of going from one extreme to another. Extremes are never good, there should be a balance. They did not find that balance…they just went from too much info to almost 0 info.
oh god…………….. u are one of “those” people
