3 at the tower just outside the cave where the caravan leader is (one up in the tower)
2 in the cave west of fort
1 in water just north-west of the fort
2 south towards where the instance start is
1 miner on the eastern side
2 vigil soldiers higher up above the miner
1 asura with 3 golems
1 more asura to the far north on the eastern back
There may be others just north of the fort, but I never saw that area during out attempts
The # NPCs scales with how many people are in the instance. There’s 7 when you’re solo.

I’ve tried bobblehead cutscene and it didn’t work. Apparently our character’s brain can only handle so many drugs.

You have to kill the mob attacking the NPC before you can interact with it (unless you’re able to interact before it spawns) and they cannot die or the achievement immediately ends (icon disappears). Number of NPCs scales up with the amount of players in the instance.

You haven’t had to face the target since before dec 15 patch, when I used to run it.
Shamelessly plugging my video for those Engis still struggling to defeat Liadri.
I did this fight without armor, dodge rolls and only auto attacking, blocking and healing. It’s obviously much easier if you don’t handicap yourself in the same way; the tips will still be quite relevant.

TL;DW version:
- Rifts spawn every 35 seconds and take 5 seconds to pull.
- You can hold Blazing Light for 5 seconds before it disappears.
- Strafe back and forth while facing boss to avoid projectiles in invul phase.
- You can safely Magnet pull Visions through pools of light to explode them quickly.
- Visions don’t explode until they’re basically hugging you; be a bit daring instead of wasting dodges.
- Kit swap often for Swiftness and Vigor; Tool Kit swap for super speed (Kit Refinement).
- Proccing burning on the boss allows downtime on attacks to reposition/kill Rifts.
- The leap is painful if you’re naked; her auto attack stacks cripple which is worse.
- Run behind pools of light as often as you can to remove the Visions!
- Pistol 1 is pbaoe and Liadri runs much faster than the Visions; don’t be worried about bodyblocking.
I’ll edit my post if I have more tips I forgot to add or if anyone else wants me to add something!
They’re strong in spvp and small scale wvw, but niche in zergs. They’re also good in pve with a coordinated group, but in pugs you’re kind of limited if the other players are bad.
Engineer is the way to go!

Auto attacks and no armor build!
Glad someone else noticed. I’ve been complaining about this for a while. Easy fix would be to make retal return a % of damage taken, scaling with power. An easier fix would be to give BF the invul back tho.
Besides, we only have 2 qq threads; a clear indicator that it’s too easy.
Not sure about last year but reading all the complaints from people who couldn’t beat her gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling <3
They definitely made her easier beyond just removing the dome and making the telegraphs more visible. Last year the forum was flooded with Liadri complaint threads for the entire event. It personally took me over 50 gauntlet tickets just to barely beat her. This year I’ve beaten her 3 times with no armor on and damaging her with auto attacks only.

As a stunbreak skill shorter cd does have a huge advantage. I actually feel blink is better than shadowstep when i use staff.
Shadowstep is longer range, 2 stunbreaks and cleanses 3 conditions on the return. It’s way better than a 900 range blink..
There is no priority on condition removal, it just removes last applied first, but with everyone spamming dmg conditions immobilized gets moved to the bottom of teh stacks rather fast

Doubt it. The only time the food makes a difference is in 1v1 or 2v2 situations, which are rare, in fact, the very minority of situations in WvW. Any more then that and the group or AoE condition removal options, combined with the stack cap or the fact that many conditions only stack in duration, limiting their value extremely, with more then one player that applies them as part of their builds damage.
Condis are still extremely powerful in a 5v5 lol. You can have condi cleanse out the kitten , but a couple of a condi engis or necros with +40% food will still be able to stack loads of em.
TL;DR- Good idea, but not at 66%, because thieves are sometimes people too.
Elementalists are also people and 66% on our attunements affects our skill pool too. People seem to forget that though. :\
Better map rotation! Should’ve thrown some skyhammer and spirit watch in there to keep it interesting imo.
Am I the only one who thinks attunement swapping shouldn’t have a cooldown, but add ICDs to on-attunement swap traits? Right now chill fooks me more than any other class and engis do 20 skills better than the tetramage archetype.
In WvW the situation didn’t change as much, our overall survivability in small skirmishing improved (again, you may prefer to stick with d/d) but hambow warriors and backstab thieves can still be a threat without putting much effort in it.
And p/d thief, any necro build, phantasm/PU mesmer, dps guard, engi (though not really power) and regen beastmaster rangers.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think that hammer shots are dodgeable if your timing is right. I did that yesterday but I don’t remember if it was in solo que… Hammer works the same in all modes?
You can’t dodge or block it.
BG has better coverage and off hours than TC or JQ. TC and JQ’s solution? Combine their strengths to eliminate their weaknesses… BG buy’s guilds, sends spies and pays off players to do their bidding, that’s their strategy, this is ours…
We think JQ is paying TC. You can make your baseless assumptions and I can make mine.
Let us look at the last week of t1 (BG SOS) 2v1, JQ commander overtime two days open pin 24 hours to catch up with the PPT, JQ can, BG why not
Because SoS isn’t a t1 server. Their active population and coverage don’t come close to TC’s.
Don’t queue with 5 condi classes and a diamond skin ele won’t be able to solo your team.

Thanks for the replies. It seems to only happen in WvW for me. I hopped into a random PvE map and was fine, same for PvP. I was really looking forward to roaming on Ele.
Change some of the minor traits to give +damage% when endurance isn’t full, 1% per boon, if target has x condition, target is below x% health. I have no kittening idea why Mesmer is the only class that does not have these.

OP your suggestion makes too much sense. Better remove Capricorn first to see how people adjust before we do anything drastic to class balance.

What happens when you interrupt them when they have 1 initiative? It’s only 1/5 effective because thief.

Can anyone explain why my Burning Speed only goes ~200 range instead of the full 600? The animation lands me at the right spot, but the flame trail and blast end way too early, as you can see in the attached screenshot. A friend suggested it was my camera angle, but I’ve used it from many different angle to no avail.
