As some of the DR people seem to be understanding, losing can be really great for your server as a catalyst for improving your overall skills and tactics. It’s a good mindset to be in. That’s how our core grew, as nobody knows about losing as much as Maguuma does lol.

You’re talking about a bunch of people that literally just transferred here to win. Those aren’t Maguumas, they’ll be gone by Friday. Who cares about those people?
You must be new here. We, as a server, are not about the win. If you’re looking to win match ups, Mag isn’t the server for that to happen. We’ve won exactly 5 out of 53 matches (6 after this week). The only time we win is when we need to get back to T4. T1-3 is terrible game play. Nobody wants to go there.
Sit back and enjoy competitive battles in the Maguuma tier. Grandiose plans to move up is for the birds.
I don’t see Maguuma doing well next week. We don’t have the EU/Ocean timezone coverage to hold things overnight and our US pop will become ghosts after a few wipes.
There have been matchups in the last several weeks where the only thing Maguuma fielded was a handful of gankers, and people are used to coasting into 2nd over a dead server.
You say this like Mag actually wants to win T4 match ups.
Waypoints are currently the most powerful upgrade in the game but there are a few issues.
They are only inactive when the defense quest is active, are you guys planning on disabling them slightly longer than the defense quest to allow attackers to keep the defenders from spawning there just as the defense quest lapses?
For example under the current system I can count down on voip the defense quest and spawn in everyone right as it hits zero and before attackers can reflag the keep.
This is definitely a bug. I’ll see about leaving the rally points disabled for a few extra seconds after the event has completed. That way it just stays disabled if the event starts back up.
Whether it’s intended or not, this would be the worst possible change to the game to date. Golem rushing is already the most difficult meta to deter in this game mode. Taking away the only defense to it, other than having large numbers of players sitting in each and every keep you own at all times, would be absolutely terrible for the future of WvW.

So let me get this straight. A BP guild transferred over to us and than exploited into the BP citadel the very next day? I’d say there’s some bad blood there lol.
no one’s saying they dont welcome relatively small but organized and skilled guilds, people are saying they dont want the randoms that only transfer for the wins and world completion.
I’m fine with randoms, so long as they listen to what the hell they need to be doing.
That should probably be the main focus this week for Mag. Whipping all these new folks into shape so they’re a little more presentable for Great Lord Flame Ram. ’Cause atm, all I see are a lot of bad habits.
Way more teaching people the basics tonight than what’s normal. Maybe after we get back to our losing ways they’ll take that knowledge to the next winning server they transfer to.

Oh, BP still had fun, it just gets old ya know? There’s no point in taking targets and certianly no point in upgrading when they are as good as lost anyway. I can’t tell you how often I’ve caught discussions that went like “lets upgrade Hills”, “why?” “to defend it!” What for? we’re just going to lose it in a few. probably before the upgrades even get done". THAT means it isn’t fun anymore. THAT is where the population drops.
This is a really bad defeatist attitude and definitely something as a server you’ll need to work on. I can tell you Mag always upgrades their borderlands as much as possible, as often as possible. Doesn’t matter how much we’re getting spanked… And we lose often. 5 total wins out of 53 match ups.
Think of Bunzy as Bunzy and not Maguuma. Threads get Bunzied in every match up.
Pretty much. He doesn’t capture or defend objectives ever, so really, he has very little to do with how any match up scoring is going at all. Ironically he’s the most vocal as well.
The costs are as heavy as you make them be. I usually just set a specific gold amount I make sure I never go below. Mind you, I never make any money as a result, but I’m not poor either. I’m just constantly hovering around the exact same amount of gold for all eternity.
The pop and coverage difference isn’t that bad. The weekend was highly competitive with a very close score, including DR. It wasn’t until during the week that Mag started to take off. And since we’ve only gained one small guild since then, that indicates to me it’s more of a morale issue than anything. I expect this next reset to be competitive as well.
If you’re capable of keeping up on the weekend there’s no reason, other than dedication, for your numbers to begin thinning out as the week goes on compared to the enemies.
DR giving up or not has nothing to do with what was discussed, and has been discussed before in this thread. But I believe staying OT is nothing you are interested in, you are simply trying to kitten people off.

You are the one bringing up numbers in a discussion about something as simple as denying your opponent supply. And I’m trying to explain it to you, numbers have nothing to do with it.
Believe me, we know. Maguuma is generally the server with the outmanned buff.
And we upgraded west keep during NA prime time today. If you only had 10-20 during that time, that has nothing to do with Maguuma taking advantage of you and everything to do with DR giving up.
It takes exactly 1 person to take out the dolyaks on the way to a keep. It’s standard affair for that to happen constantly in T4. Ya’ll never do it though. Has nothing to do with numbers, everything to do with experience.
I dunno why we’re explaining this tbh, as it only helps you guys out in the future… Mind you, this is tip of the ice berg stuff.
Actually we killed a good 5-6 Dolyaks in a row before we entered Bay cause inner gate was down.
So I guess we did do it.
And my reply was specifically talking about supply camps.
So I don’t know why you are talking about Dolyaks.

We’re talking about supply getting to keeps inside your own borderlands. Bay had, and Hills currently has, waypoint/fortified. That’s like 100 dolyaks that went through to each keep. Killing 5-6 dolyaks isn’t going to cut it. These matches last 168 hours.
