Back to the original point.. repairing is more of an annoyance than an actual cost. But isn’t WvW a large enough gold-sink as is?
That’s my stance on the issue as well. It just seems like an archaic design thrown in because other games have done it in the past. It certainly doesn’t add anything to the game, or fun. So why have it?
VoIP. If you need to tell people in /team what to do, tell other people to type it out as you explain it in the VoIP.
Ultimately you want to play what you think will be fun.
But if you just want to FotM, Mesmer/Guardian/Elementalist/Thief are among the most useful classes in both large group play and small group play for WvW.
Mes has portal and time warp, both invaluable. And one of the strongest 1v1 classes in the game.
Guard has bubble, heals, support, and is very tanky.
Ele is able to destroy siege on the battlements better than any other class. Also one of the strongest 1v1 classes in the game.
Thief is able to stealth a group. Also one of the strongest 1v1 classes in the game.
Thou shalt not PvP in a PvP zone.

Hand full of Maguuma players are still using exploits so they can’t be killed above a supply camp in this weeks match up. Screens have been taking & will be reported.

If you aren’t making money in WvW, you need to alter what you are doing.
If you aren’t losing money in WvW you need to start upgrading keeps.
So what I’ve gotten out of these last few pages is that Maguuma has a secret alliance with both EBay and Yaks simultaneously.
Mag loses all it’s points in eternal. But since eternal is terrible I’m ok with this.
I love being double teamed by yak and mag, it just shows how much of a threat we are. I mean again, I understand you guys need the handicap because your servers skill average is below average, but you would think attacking each other would grant u more points at this point.
You realize the exact same thing happened in Yaks borderlands yesterday, right? EBay love sure love that victim card. Learn to defend your borderland half as well as Mag and maybe it won’t happen to you.
We may be last on the scores, but we’re the only server to not lose both east and west keep simultaneously in NA hours this week. Ya’ll slackers need to build some arrow carts.

40 some odd matches in T4 is pretty constant. Us getting kicked out of this tier isn’t even assured yet. Mag eternal isn’t even close to being queued atm so it can’t be that laggy. 3 full queue eternal SM battle in lord room, now that’s laggy.
I don’t remember being part of this conversation that this dude is talking about, so apparently I was supposed to save this Rainbow guy from a troll guild nobody cares about.
Yeah, you’re right “some” T1-3 servers are bad at defense, my server is one of them. CD doesn’t defend well at all. However, there are servers above you that defend much better than you guys do. Likely some of the servers you would name as being bad are in reality better than Magoooma, but you guys see things through a biased lens in which your server is the most skilled WvW players in the game, and it’s simply not the case.
I just said we were good at a very very small portion of WvW. I didn’t say we were teh walking pwn on earth and everybody else is turrible . Why you felt the need to interject such a simple statement is beyond me.
You’re confusing this dudes extremely vocal 10 man guild, who’s been on our server for a grand total of 3 weeks, with the rest of the server who’ve been here since the beginning.
And no, you don’t defend better than “pretty much every server out there”…. There are three tiers above you with servers who do everything better than you guys do.
Score and defending are completely opposite things. Some servers don’t even try to defend locations. They let it fall and recap the thing directly after. I can name 3 servers within T1-3 that are like that.
Even if it was 3v2, which it probably was, not exactly showing the overwhelming pwn you seem to proclaim day in and day out.
I spent 2 weeks trying to explain this Bunzy and Magoooma server. ^
Leave Maguuma out of this. We defend better than pretty much every server out there.

If you’re looking for sympathy about being night capped from Maguuma, you’re barking up the wrong tree.
Eh the best matches we have had have been similar time zones between all 3 servers. At least then things get decided when the majority of players are on the map. Otherwise, its more of a shell game, and I guess you can call that strategy, but its still PVDoor as the main determining factor.
If you don’t have presence at proper times doesn’t matter how much you fortify, your siege will vanish and you won’t have enough people to man it anyway. This leads to day players being less wining to upgrade, knowing it won’t last and weakening you further.
Mag won on acount of us getting no points during a time period where we typically have a strong presence - db’s asian forces are massive, our oceanics have always been better than average. To me alls fair. We don’t match up well in a Mag DB match up, tough luck.
These two Yaks comments do not coincide whatsoever. ‘Cause all I’m reading is a lot of whining about being night capped, and than being proud of having a strong presence in the same time frame… Making your server the normal night cappers.
Sure is double standard around here.

I’m not trying to argue anything. I’m telling SethGrev what server transfers we have gotten from the Ebay Hate Club. He will not have played with many of them because there aren’t many of them.
Not significant? You have 3 decent to large sized WvW guilds join your server. You say some do not exist anymore which may be true (Have not seen the FINE tag this match). That does not mean the players themselves have stopped playing. I have a bad feeling that I am getting trolled right now…
Three 15 man guilds over the course of a month isn’t what I’d call large portion of incoming transfers my man.
Personally I’m cool with our smaller numbers/coverage/whatever. You actually get to know who you’re playing with on your own server. Not just guilds in general, but specific players.

FC and ET both seem to be in a situation that regardless of who the 3rd server they fight is, they’re going to get stomped because of pop/coverage imbalance… And there’s no tier lower for them to fight in.
Just a bad situation to be in and nothing Anet does can directly fix it for them. They can put incentives for switching to their server, which is the best they can hope for atm.
Population and coverage imbalance. Nothing else. When the scores are a blow out, the winning server generally jump to another tier relatively quickly. They probably won because of a higher population/coverage. If scores are close nobody moves anywhere because the population/coverage between the three servers is about equal.

I don’t understand why Maguuma’s resets are always so bad. We really need to plan our openers better.
We’re a true NA server and resets start at 8pm EST. Things never get bad until midnight. Not enough time to pimp out our keeps for the small night crew.
And really I think we’re one of the smaller WvW servers out there as well. Outmanned in 2 borderlands on a reset, directly after winning the last match up? And Friday is always the most we field during a week. Not exactly a huge population… Our numbers are just more consistent than say EBays throughout the week, who seem to taper off as the week goes by (why is that anyway?). Instead of only playing on the weekend, most of us play all week. Or make some attempt to anyway.

Mag had the outmanned buff for 3 hours in both EBay and Yaks borderlands. Yaks kicked us out eventually, EBay has failed to do so. Even though it’s west keep and west keep is a joke to take if you control garrison. Yaks is doing it right atm, what can I tell ya.
I like all the doubling mag and yak are doing to eb. Keep up the good teamwork you two.
Do you even know what’s going on around you? Have you looked at the maps? Every borderlands has both invading servers with a keep. And Eternal is split down the middle. Sounds like working as intended to me.
EBay better not start playing this victim stuff again, it’s seriously old.

I like these DB guys, most of them seem pretty easy going.
Those are the type of people I like to fight. Just a bunch of chill guys. Some other servers, who shall remain nameless, are total super serious WvW sperglords. Gets old fast.

Well, I get very angry when the zerg decides to stick its thumb up its kitten and not use strategy (and I make it very apparent to the zerg), so probably a small roaming group. I do enjoy zergs, but when they become stupidly unorganized I get very annoyed.
EDIT: Rereading that made me realize that I was rather indecisive. To summarize it briefly, I’m up for a zerg if it’s well organized, but otherwise small groups are the best.
You don’t need strategy to PvD, which is what you’ll be doing if you join a EU server and play during NA times.

They are a great thing.Sure its annoying when we are on the winning side, because it takes upgraded towers quickly and you can’t paint a borderland in just one color and rule it…
But for the losing server, that lost everything on the map its a great thing. When you are playing against a really big/strong server and have no chance of taking a single tower back because you are outmanned as hell the event is a needed help to get at least some points and a little bit of fun back.
This would be fine if the breakout events only happened inside your own home borderland and eternal borderlands, but that isn’t how it is.
A server with a 300k point lead can breakout into the losing servers borderlands, making it even more difficult for the losing server to defend it’s own borderland.
Do you remember how much fighting there was a couple of months ago when you could expect 4 full maps on every side during prime play time? So where did those people go? Clearly it wasn’t interesting enough.
My server was never like this… Ever.
Take for instance League of Legends, there are multiple NPC objectives that force the two teams into fighting, if you let the other team slay an NPC you are putting your team at a disadvantage
Can’t believe I didn’t even think of that, good example. Is anyone here going to call Baron Nashor in LoL “PvE” content?
LoL matches last 45 minutes tops. You can’t just sit there and kill the NPCs all day long and expect to win a game of LoL. You’ll get ganked and become weaker than the enemy… This game however lasts 7 days, you already play it at max level, and it’s actually beneficial to your score to have less PvP fights and simply take objectives from NPCs.
This game needs less PvE and more PvP. My RvR isn’t feeling like RvR anymore. The way to make WvW more dynamic is to add player kills into the end score formula some how. Like a specific objective cap limit on potential points, and the rest of your score needs to be obtained through killing.
