The best Tower layout to make it really easy to defend (making it the hardest tower to take) is the Green/Blue/Red-Lake tower’s in the borderlands, that tower is just awesome in every way!

but that big ball of players with the same tag has a lot of intimidation value. Plus you can actually try to learn how we turned so many invaders into lootbags that they started just running away as soon as we would charge.
No offense but nobody is ever going to run from anybody because of their guild tag. I’ve never even heard of your guild until this very moment, and we’ve fought each other for 3 weeks straight now. A big endless sea of red though, yeah, that’ll happen.
The lag would be so bad you wouldnt be able to use actions, your FPS would drop to 2-3 and players would not render for minutes. Its a server capacity issue otherwise ANet would do this already.
Just imagine if the 3rd and 1st place teams (going into the match) switched colors/starting locations. Giving the higher tiered server the easier towers to defend is such a weird design choice.

CD has had a full online population 24/7 for the 3 weeks we’ve fought them. It really doesn’t matter. CDs “off hours” are just as strong as our prime time.
I’m a little envious that the KH guild in CD is able to field so many people at once. I don’t think Maguuma has a guild that can field that many, certainly not this late in the match.
People in the public mumble are basically the same thing as a really big wvw guild.
In the non-EB borderlands SE tower is the easiest tower to flip whenever you feel like since you can easily treb it from east keep, and east keep is by far the easiest keep to defend on the map (even easier than your own garrison). It’d say SW or NE towers are the hardest depending if you’re an invader or not.
We play the game the exact same way. We all focus on capturing points and holding them. The difference is Mag plays for the battles we’re currently in, and CD (or at least you) seem to play for the end score.
This is true. If I see an enemy with an outmanned buff, and they have some property to take, I make kitten sure my side knows about it.
Simple fix really. Make it so only the player that has the buff up can see it. Allowing the enemy to know your numbers without having to scout takes strategy away from the game.
I think this is one thing Mag could work on. I don’t think we got that many thieves out there compared to other servers, and if we do they’re just mucking about.
If it were a Mag player, making my post, he could have said. “SMC, inside, killed some, got out, yey!” And they would get showered in adoration in how they outsmarted the mindless CD players.

If he got away, he wasn’t inside the ring. Once SMC is flipped, that lord insta kills everybody on that location with a single swipe of his AoE because of the 4 min buff.
In this light, it does look bad, and I’m sure some probably did bail. It was pretty nuts in there; I don’t think i was above 50% health or endurance for a good 10 minutes, once EBay and Maguuma broke in. However, I left after SMC was taken, and our last stand on the roof was broken. I hid for a few minutes on the roof before I thought I got spotted.
I didn’t think it was implied that I ran out in the confusion. I took advantage of said confusion as long as I could.
But if you ported away it means you weren’t fighting in that last stand on the roof, as you can’t port while in combat. So you literally watched your comrades die while doing nothing… And really, unless you’re a mesmer, there wasn’t any reason to be on that roof. If you weren’t able to stop us with 50+ sieged to the gills, you sure as hell weren’t going to stop us with 10-15 with a single ballista. You’d have been better served either having the 10-15 of you hide somewhere, and hope we didn’t find you so you could instantly ninja cap the location. Or to have a true last stand in the capture point, increasing your numbers and your chances of wiping everybody right then and there.

Sometimes you can just look around and see that your death has no meaning, so getting away in a situation like that isn’t a bad thing.
There is such a thing as a tactical retreat.
This is true when there’s no hope of winning the battle, however that wasn’t the case in SMC at all. Each army sat inside the capture point for upwards of 10 minutes. It really was anybody’s guess who was going to come out on top. If CD had an extra body or two in there, who knows, it may not have flipped.
Furthermore, during your successful capture of SMC, which did seem to catch us off guard, as well as EBay coming in from the other side at the same time, I got 31 badges off the impregnable maguumans. without being downed once, and getting away to boot.
This isn’t something I’d be proud of and share with the class. You just ousted yourself as a coward. If you weren’t in the middle of that ring, you’re the direct reason why Mag was able to flip SMC in the first place. Hell with the waypoint upgrade, you shouldn’t even be worried about death. You can port in every 3 minutes at your leisure.
I’d say us taking SMC was impressive, but I couldn’t even fire off abilities for 5 minutes because the server was so stressed when all 3 armies were in there. Thing was kittenshow.
Having the higher score is entirely based on which server has the most amount of player coverage within the 168 hour time frame. Until you have queues in all 4 borderlands 24/7, there’s really nothing a single individual (or even a group of individuals) can do to help with the score, unless you and your guild are able to play for 168 hours straight.
Hence, murder > score. I’ll worry about the score when I can stay awake and play for a week straight.
And this isn’t to say objectives are meaningless, that’s not what I’m saying at all. Simply that the end score has almost nothing to do with me personally, so why would I or anybody else, feel the need to take credit for it? Everybody is a very small cog in the wheel that is called <insert your wvw server here>.
Sure is a lot of hot air for night capping a NA server in here. It’s 8:30am and I just woke up. It’s not like we won’t take it back after everybody wakes up from their drunken stupor.

Because Mag doesn’t outnumber CD in NA prime time. In fact, they push us just as hard as they do in our off hours. A CD player already said you guys are getting queues during NA hours. Mag never has queues, with the exception of Friday in 2 BLs. Otherwise, you’ll never see a queue on Mag… And I’ve been WvWing on Mag since the 3 day headstart. Mag’s just doesn’t have a big presence on the field. Always been that way, will always be that.
You dudes just have a lot of coverage. A lot more then you’re saying, that’s for sure. Mag can keep check how many we got much easier then other servers because most of the population is on the same mumble. Can just do a quick count and see exactly the numbers you got to to work with. Then it’s all; k send 20 here, 30 there, etc, etc.
Nature of a subscriptionless MMO. Plus it’s a hectic kind of season atm, what with Christmas around the corner. No reason to play it like a job so people don’t.
