Even though there are some good ranger WvW builds, unfortunately all of them are inferior to guards, eles and necros in the current meta. At best they can compete with warriors, but most players would even disagree about that point because warrior has battle standard.

Yes, but not only because standard, but Allot of CC from hammer, blast on 7sec cooldown from hammer, passive retaliation, minimum 2 stun brakes, Immobilize on low cooldown(3sec every 7 sec) Leap on low cooldown, healing+cleaning shouts and condition convert from horn + blast + self cleans from f1.
and pretty good damage spikes with descent mobility.

Poison master druid?

Yes I know but he specifically mentioned condi removal in the OP. for PVE I wouldn’t run any condis since zerker is better.

If I were to run a PVE condi build I might take poison master I guess? Not sure as I’ve never run one.

Zerker isn’t better, it’s situational. Condi ranger can out-dps zerker rangers in the right scenarios, but it is dependent on expensive food to match the dps and long enough fights for the build up to be worth it.

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the Berzerker Abomination in Arah. Condi is better vs. heavy armor but there doesn’t seem to be too much of that around.

Sinister ranger under full buff output more that 20-21k dps after last pet buff and if you dodge as condi ranger you’ll lose about 2% of dps.
Zerker ranger output 17-19k dps under full buff, and if you dodge, you lose up to 35% dps.

ONLY where zerker will output more dps are less than 12sec encounters and Dredge fractals boss.

Poison master druid?

poison master on condi builds was strong pre-June 27. Now it is stronger than ever. You can pound out 2k ticks with it.

BUT

they’ve put all our condition cleanse in one line so where you used to take SoTF/poison master, or empathic bond/poison master you now only get one. If you can find a way to get decent condi cleanse and still get poison master by all means take it. it’s strong as hell.

you can do 13k bleed tick and 14k burn tick, but same as poison master, your enemie have to brainless stand in all your AOE.

You have cut it from context, because it was sarcastic topic if you don’t know.

You have made most useless build for WvW and you’r proud of it?
1100 toughness with 16k hp against organized Guild?
Axe as offensive weapon? Next you have to make Staff/Staff berserker revenant or Scepter berserker Necromancer.

With such gear, you’ll be just a rallybot, not more.
Make video when Focus group sit on you in GvG and you survive all damage and keep supporting your teammates, or how you rush under arrowCarts and MetiorShower t3 keep against organised guild.

You need more swiftness in these build, because you’ll have to run allot from respawn in these build

And No stability build for big fights is victory xD GJ.

Rangers can be a great support class even when running completely glass builds thanks to their pets.
- 2 blasts on short cooldowns (Call of the wild from horn & trait)
- AoE fury, might, regen, swiftness (horn, shouts, F2 skills)

Hahaha… i can’t read more… sorry.
After you write, that 24sec and 30 sec are 2 blasts on low cooldown… it so silly.

Rune of ranger? Are you serious? in zerg??? Cat pet will die in 1st few seconds of fight.

Wow amazing healing for 1.3 million imagine if you were actually doing something like dealing 1.3 million in damage. The fact you were not shutdown in a beta weekend means nothing.

Just about any class can triple the damage done by a druid. Using this as a scale one can easily out pace a druids healing.

This just illustrates what a druid could do if were given a real aoe weapon set.

Bunkers are a thing, eh? You don’t need to deal damage to win the match, just hold the points. If two Druids can bunker mid against the other team, then you have 2 players to take far and hold it and one other to take close and then help at mid.

Revenant can hold mid against 4 ppl. tested it in ranked and revenant + whatever else can hold mid against 5 man + kill someone by focus? i run to mid once a minute, dropped few CC and heals on mid and run back on spot as druid, and that’s was all. all damage revenant outhealed by itself, and HP does not dropped above 40%…
Only when necro unload signet on it, then HP dropped to 20% and back to 100%.

IF Thief/war + mesmer will focus druid, it will die faster than mesmer will destroy last shatter. It was already tested many times. Zerker mesmer can 1shot in 1.1seccond guardian with sentinel amulet from stealth. there’s nothing can save 15k hp bunker druid.
In low tier druid are cool, but on high mmr druid blowing like bubble, and it’s with old healing power. With new healing power will be much worse

It’s cool class design!!!

When you use Sick’Em! and use one of pet commands, SIck’Em will be canceled and goes on Cooldown.
When you use F2 and hit “Guard!”, f2 will be canceled and goes on cooldown.

Ranger are best interrupt class in game, because he have best mechanic to interrupt himself and cancel his abilities! xD

IT’s like if Thief stealth was something like: If you press W, then you’ll be revealed, or warrior: If you press 1, then you lose all boons and “Endure pain” will be canceled.

But devs don’t care… these bug was in 1,2,3 BWE before game launch and nothing was changed.

I’m agree that it was broken before. I’m.talking about now. Engenee can keep 25 might for years already, but Roy say, that for ranger it’s not intended! It’s not intended only for only one class in game, and these class are the weakest I’m almost every part of the game. I just want to know why it’s not intended only for one class in game? Because we have pets or it’s political decisions?

Engineer has a very easy time in stacking 25 might and all boons and maintaining them. Yet I see no one nerfing it…

They are able to do so, because they are specced and skilled for that. That wasn’t the case for WHaO.

To give an example what was able to do with the old WHaO:
Stay in the WvW base, have nature magic and resounding timbre slotted in the whole time, slot in all skills for fury. Acivate these and get fury over the 10s. Activate WHaO now, you will have 18s fury which is more than the cd of your traited heal skill. Put WHaO on auto attack, slot out all skills and traits for skills and traits which will give you swiftness and regeneration. Use them before WHaO kicks in. You have perma fury, swiftness and regeneration now. Slot them out and replace them for another boon. You were able to do this to every single boon except aegis and stability. It’s even easier if someone in the base helps you build up the boons.

Since you got all boons you wanted and stacked them high enough, you can slot in all skills and traits you want and still have all boons with 100% uptime.

Compare this to the engineer: is he able to do so? No, if he wants permanent 25 stacks of might, he has to invest skills and traits for it.

Ok, he have to invest traits and skills to get perma 25 might, and how you can get perma 25 might from WhaO? because swiftness and regen we have 100% uptime and furry we have 100% uptime in combat anyway. Just tell us, how we should keep perma 25 stacks of might and perma protection?

If 2 druids on spot.. if three druids on spot…
Do you even know how much CC can make skillCracker warrior without stability and brake stuns?
How much can do 2-3 warriors on spot? They will just rekt anyone.
5 sec daze are too much??? you can run when dazed, you can dodge when dazed.
SkullCrack STUN you for 4 sec and you can’t dodge/run etc and you will send 0 Traits for these. after 4 sec Stun you switch, do 6sec CC chain from hammer, and you are ready do return to mace and SkullCrack for 4 sec again, then tremmor for 2 sec, ummel for 1 sec and all hammer cc comes back from CD and you are ready 6sec CC chain from hammer again. and it’s not OP, but on paper it’s totally broken and OP.

For 6sec Daze DoDo, you have to take 2 specific trait lines, and you can apply these mess only in DamageLess build, so what’s the problem?

See guys, there is no problem with people running around with 2 min of every boon including quickness. It’s only a problem if rangers are running around with them.

I’m sure this will be fixed as soon as an anet dev sees a ranger running with one of these zergs.

If it goes to any class who can stack huge amounts of buffs, they say: Strip Boons or Corrupt Boons! it’s balance and intended!!!
If the same question goes, to ranger, they say: it’s not intended!!! and have to be nerfed as quick as possible!

Staff autoattack don’t heal much, BUT it will help in Raid/WvW fight, when you have allot of people in RaidUI, and Staff Autoattack will show with line, where is that target.

Just chose from RaidUI target with lowest HP hit 1 and you see, where you have to unload HealingBurst from avatar.

Ive seen warriors outheal every dmg with healing signet…

Its, at best, 450hp/s if you run all clerics. If a build cannot out damage that, its beyond terrible.

with adrenal heal it goes to 422 + 177 = 599 + regen 599+280 = 879 and if you are cleric, then of course you pick shouts. Each shout heal for 2200 AOE, and every might stack give you 10 healing power, so you can get additional 250 healing power.
And all those shouts AOE cleans and heal
2 shouts give about 330HPS in addition, but you can take more
So max output are not as low as you think.

IT’s more HPS in total, that Druid spam 1st skill

Unjustified nerf of Off-hand-Axe

Before patch:
4,8k damage per axe hit, which sums it up 10k on both sides + 2k if air procs = 12k
After patch:
2,8k damage per axe hit, which sums it up 5,6 on both sides + 2k if air procs = 7,6k

Can some one explain this to me, why do rangers keep getting stealth nerfs?!

Are you 100% sure of this? Can anyone else confirm?

I hate undocumented, stealth nerfs. It wouldn’t be the first time either it happens to this class…

Don’t know about it, but i’m 100% shore that Birds F2 skill damage scale was nerfed on about 2.2x and base damage was left as it was before batch.

Under 25stacks of might and SotW it hits for 11k x2, so up to 22k on light golem.
Now if it will hit 30% of it, it’s already gr8.

Just have to change 1 trait and put it in Minor traits: Lingering light. and change it to:

Healing an ally or on critical hit. creates a wisp that orbits you and heals allies it touches.

That will fix AF generation.

I honestly really do not like that idea. I think its quite good as it is now, especially with that CD and Verdant Etchings, if the range was better, it would be fantastic. For PvE it is just amazingly good.

I think it have to work on your pet also, that will be good.

That way there will be much more synergy with “Protect Me!”.
You transfer damage to pet, and pet reflect these damage to enemy. Why not?

Popping in,
The developers are reading this still. They are not going to post anything until they are certain of any changes they are going to make.

The thread is not being ignored, just not being posted in at the moment. They don’t want to shoot them selves further in the foot by saying something and not following through with it 100%.

They also don’t want to start a chain reaction of: This class raged and got ton of responses from developers so now they hate ____ and ____. So now _ and _ rage and start expecting the same thing ranger go.

Again, It would be nice if they popped in and posted more; however, they are still reading this thread. (waits to get flamed).

The problem with this line of reasoning is twofold:

1) Roy already does give that kind of feedback/discussion on the revenant subforum.

2) No other profession has been bottom of the barrel since launch, in every part of the game. You’ve had dungeon groups looking for anything but ranger, you’ve had tournaments where ranger was the only profession not represented. As an engineer main, ranger needs the feedback, the help, and the attention more than any other profession in the game, by far. You have to help the ones that need it the most, and anyone from any other profession that thinks that their profession needs help more desperately than ranger does is deluding themselves.

As owner of Champion Genius, Champion Paragon, Champion Phantom, Champion Shadow, Champion Legionnaire and Champion Hunter Titles, i’m 200% agree with you!
They have to fully concentrate on Ranger, because it almost pass “Point of No Return” already.

Well i dont understand.. From my point of view i log in and i want to have fun.
I randomly used SotW underwater and i noticed a quality that i wasnt used to most of the times..It had less casting time and it was so much fun to use.

Now my question is that it is really that important to have a 1sec casting time? I mean the skill is there. Just copy it..Im not a game designer i dont know details but logic implies that since it is there how hard could it be?

Or there is a thin thread holding the perfect balance right now and it would destroy everything if SotW becomes more functional?

In pvp all utilities divide on Instant and Castable. 2nd one can be interrupted, and to interrupt then, was added 1sec cast time, so your opponent can react on it.

For example in SkyHammer, LR and Entan. will be worse than SotP and guard, but in other map will be better in some situations.

I have player with surv skills for about one and half year, and now switched to shout one, and i can say that both have huge problems and both have good advantage.
SoR cleaned So many times Fear, taunt and Immobilize from me that i can’t remember already, just from passive.

Once even Necro started whine in map chat in ranked arena about it
And if it will not clean, then i can always clean fear/taunt/root with Guard with 12sec cooldown.

But you have t kite allot in these build anyway… you can’t allow to put on your face all what they got, and swiftness from shouts really help you in that.

-Troll Unguent is our best heal, use it when you are about 80% hp to see the best benefit for it, because its healing is over 10 seconds it takes a while to ramp, but it will heal for roughly 8k.
-WHaO is just really poor, some like it because of the burst heal, but with proper Troll Unguent use you won’t have this issue.

If you compare the traited versions of both heals WHaO actually provides more health per second. It also provides a burst heal and aoe swiftness for better rotations. TU’s only real benefit is the additional condi removal.

Assuming you want to give up Go for the Eyes for Resounding Timbre, with the bird having a 4 sec CD its hard to give up that is a lot of defense in of itself.

I’ve stopped using hawk and eagle until we get a indicator on the buff bar letting us know when BW is off cooldown. The swiftness comes in a lot more handy for me.

That is fine, but would say most won’t be willing to drop Go for the Eyes

I have dropped it, and i feel that it’s much better for me.
I run in 3 shout/2signets power ranger and i feel much better than before.
From BM i take RT WS BW and i feel really good with it.
When Casting WHaO, after 0.5sec dropping Guard, so i get in additional 3sec protection after cast heal and clean 2 conditions from solder runes.

Then you can show to enemy, that you want to hide from it.. hide behind pillar and in that moment you unload From stealth Bird Burst damage then knockback and rapid or if Taunt OoCD, then rappid, knock 5th skill/stealth.

The more I read about Revenant, the less excited I am about Ranger and Druid.

It’s cool to have a bow and pet for aesthetic reasons, but everything Revenant seems to be far superior from what I’m reading. Along with the option to be a better sustained healer, Revenant also other goodies to support their team. I get the feeling that Revanant will completely outshine Ranger in every aspect and game mode.

Of course Revenant will be a better sustained healer. Druid isn’t a sustained healing spec. It’s burst.

Burst healer with Channel 4th skill or spam 1st skill in avatar.

In fact 1st skill is so bad that it’s better to just spam 2 3 4.

The point is, that if you press 4th skill, you can’t use anything at all, or it will brake channel. 2nd skill has delay? so if you’ll w8 when these “thing” will blow, then it can be too late already.
3th skill have 5sec cooldown.
ANd most fun, that you have 3 blast finisters, but you can’t blast in CA… no, you can, but it will brake water field channel gr8 synergy! xD

Well ranger has it’s problems, but I don’t think you got it quite right.

First of all, make sure your heal skill is traited. It reduces the CD and gives you additional effects, i.e. the perma swiftness and regen on WHaO and condi removal on TU. Our heal skills are some of my favorite across all the professions, all 3 are really good in the right situation and that’s awesome. Most professions have 1 viable heal skill.

Condi cleanse, you’re going to want to use wilderness knowledge, and I also use signet of renewal. That’s a good bit of on-demand condi removal.

Pet dying is both the sign of an inexperienced ranger, as well as just something that happens from time to time. Pet management is very important to playing a ranger, so you need to be able to swap it or reposition it to keep it from dying. Sometimes it just gets obliterated, but that shouldn’t happen that much if you’re paying attention to it.

this right here! these new cele necros are incredibly tough and so are the minion master builds but against most other classes I have very little trouble in a 1v1.

i tend to run a power signet or power shout build in pvp and ele’s are the class i hate the most, they have so much low cooldown healing and blasts it’s insane.

That’s why ranger needs boon stripping.

PLZZ! make skill 1 possible to hit targeted friendly target also!
It will really help in different game types.

In WvW you can always target your commander and see where he’s moving and in additional support him.

In raids You can Select friend with LowHP and Animation from Skill1 will show you where you have to unload all your healing skills to save him. it will add interesting mechanics.

PLZ, don’t ignore it.

Shared Anguish: “Whenever you are crowd controlled, it is transferred to your pet, if your pet is defeated, it is revived and then transferred to it.”

Or transfer it to Pet, pet receive invulnerable, and next pets attack will return these CC to target, but 2x longer and have to be something like 30sec cooldown.

No kidding. After extensivly playing ranger in pvp it furiates me to no end. I can name 7 other classes outperforming the poor ranger atm. Such shame.

In team Fights – maybe.
In 1v1, all depends on ranger.

There are too many things you have to manage when you playing ranger.
If you concentrate on battle, you’ll lose pet.
If you concentrate on pet management, then you’ll lose concentration on battle and will be not 100% effective.

On almost every class, you can start dominate after 1-3 days of playing it.
With ranger, you start to push out from it all only after few months or maybe year of playing it.

That’s why none loves ranger, because only per_verts can play for so long with such a broken class.

Why you all suggest that “it have to be CHANCE to apply condition”??? Warriors apply 2stacks of burn from LB auto-attack and in additional they can be Fire Projectiles!

Do warriors SwordAA have chance to apply bleed? NO, it apply 10sec bleed from every attack. May be necro? NO! 10sec bleed from every AA too.
May be Eni Pistol? NO! Every attack apply AOE bleed.
Thief? NO!
Revenant? NO!
Elem? NO!
Mesmer? NO!

Every class have 100% chance to apply Condition, and Only Ranger have to be “flanking”.

And now you suggest to make “chance” on staff…

Ranger mechanic already contain TOO MANY IF LOGIC.

If pet Dead, half of traits don’t work.
If pet Dead, some skills not work kitten 4th skill or Bash from GS, that increase Pet’s damage.
If pet more far than 600, then ONLY Condition Clean Utility “Signet of Renewal” goes on cooldown, but does not clean Conditions from you.
If pet far than 300 from you, then some Traits stop working and f2 don’t work on you too.
If You chose ranged PET, then you can forgot about Blind and taunt, because pet will never come so close to target, that those traits will start to work…

And it’s just from top of my head. I believe, that it’s only 10% of overall problems of ranger mechanic.

Why you all think, that there are no spot for ranger in raids instead of DruidHealer?
Do you even know what DPS can output sinister ranger???
After pet Buff these will be much more than 20k dps in raid.
Do you know why Sinister ranger was not the part of Meta?
Because all encounters last for 12-30sec, and sinister Ranger start shine only after 10-14sec of battle. And last part, why sinister Ranger not the art of meta, because Sinister gear scale really bad with IcoBow and after iceBow was nerfed, SinisterRanger can become part of New Meta in HoT.

Sinister ranger is good if your target doesn’t move (Bonfire + Fire Trap). But you can now use shortbow efficiently and put down spirits (frost and sun) for more damages. And your pet won’t die as well.
Also Druid traitline could replace the BM one, Ancient Seed is a nice addition to condi. We’ll have to wait for what we’ll get at release and do some maths (since pet doesn’t take damages in raid, BM might might still be the best option).

I hope they’ll introduce more stat combos. I’d really like some Prec/Condi/H.Power.

Druid traits no where close with Pet DPS output. Old pets under full buff can output 6-7.8k dps.

ShortBow are wort choice for DPS no matter what build you make.
And most interesting – Sinister ranger not suffer from dodgeRolls. for power builds if you use dodgeRolls, you can lose up to 40% of your max dps. For sinister druid it’;s about 5% only.

Why you all think, that there are no spot for ranger in raids instead of DruidHealer?
Do you even know what DPS can output sinister ranger???
After pet Buff these will be much more than 20k dps in raid.
Do you know why Sinister ranger was not the part of Meta?
Because all encounters last for 12-30sec, and sinister Ranger start shine only after 10-14sec of battle. And last part, why sinister Ranger not the art of meta, because Sinister gear scale really bad with IcoBow and after iceBow was nerfed, SInisterRanger can become part of New Meta in HoT.

Decrase base amount of heal on ALL heal skills in game + regen. Make it scaling better with healing power, and make healing other people in pve pvp and WvWvW more rewarding. Right now no1 cares about these heals.

and that will buff Celestial Elems, Guardians(in WvW)Necros and Engineers.

It would not change much in 1vs1, but would make it easier to lock down the ranger in teamfights, where it is way harder to keep the pet alive.

but…
this is only a problem if the pet is already dead, it doesnt change anything if the pet is alive, it just makes the pet not infinitely soak cc’s after it already died

I’m agree! THey have to change these trait to: 40sec cooldown. When you get CC, you automatically Brake Stun and get 5stacks of stability fo 10SEC! + Vigor for 6sec

You can say: But it will be totally broken and OP!!!!
But warrior have that trait and noone of them go and cry on forum, that these trait too op! you know why? Because there are much better traits in same line! And AutobrakestunWith10secStability are worst choice for them, But 1CC transfer to pet, not even brakestun!!! every 60sec! are too op and have to be nerfed…

I want +30% Pet damage buff(physic and condi) +20% base pets run speed +30% attack speed when you are in celestial Avatar + all pets attacks Cleave 5 targets.

That will be fare and well rewarding for being in “healermode”.

ATM in pvp, even with healing stats like now, when i fight against druid: he has LB/GS/whatever… he can be dangerous, so i have co keep concentrated to not lose!
When he switch to Avatar: Ha!!! now i got you, damage-less trashCan! 1cc Chain and druid dead, because Staff and Avatar have no saves at all! Even revenant have CC and Block on Staff as healer.
Ranger made that way, that EVERY weapon set have Defense or CC(Sword,axe,dagger,) abilities or both(Lb,GS,SB). That’s what allow ranger to survive in fights. It’s core mechanic of ranger..

Thanks for the tremendous amount of feedback regarding the Druid. I’ll be modifying swaths of the druid (and scrapper) to fix bugs and account for your feedback this week and reviewing things like glyphs effectiveness, celestial avatar skill differentiation, astral force charging rates and some of the staff skills.

In general the Celestial Avatar form’s base heals feel a bit too high and heal coefficients didn’t feel rewarding enough to go with healpower stats. The heals themselves seemed to be working at decent values, so I’ll be tweaking the base heals down and coefficients up some in order to better reward selecting healing power stat combos as a druid.

Honestly if you nerf the base heal in cele form you most likely will make druid not worth taking in any instance outside of support. Is this the vision you have for druid and ranger?

ATM heal in berserk are to high and scaling from gear are not worth at all to take it.

IMHO it have to be lower about on 25% and higher than now if you take +healingPower.

Hey everybody!

Some people like druid, some people not.
Allot of people complain, that it’s buggy and not ready.
Some people complain, that they die too fast, BUT!

If you compare Druid and Scrapper with all other Elite specs, then you realize, Druid and scraper are TWO BEST specs for their 1st beta. Every other Elite on it’s 1st beta was awful, but Druid and Scrapper are more than playable! In some parts of the game, they are much stronger than other classes.

And i believe, that if Roy will continue to fix his OP revenant(focus on hes job) and will not interfere with our “Savior of Rangers, the father of Druids”, then we have Brilliant future.

1st, it occupies a Master Slot, so you can’t get glyphs -cd

2nd, Chrono has the 25% as minor with no drawback

3rd Other classes’ 25% all do something else other than giving 25% speed

4th this is probably the only reason people who don’t play healer pick this traitline, so it’s justified.

5th It will become useless if you’re crippled or chilled.

6th before druid, ranger can keep swiftness 24/7 anyway and stack it u to 2min.

To gearUP, you can Go to dungeons and get your “free” ExoticGear, or Go EOTM and farm with ppl there BadgesOfHonor and buy gear for you.

Or you can do StoryMode of any dungeon, and do sPvP and get your gear there from sPvP progression.

The idea to make the Druid a part of the meta by making it a heavy healer is an interesting idea.

Interesting, but fighting them and seeing what they can do, that’s apparently not what it does best… At least not in WvW. The Druid as is can insta-kill any class. No healing will ever be needed lol.

Yes they can lol. I have no idea how they do it – I havent played them. But I have seen druid insta-kill people from full HP. Its some type of pulse attack that does 4K damage each. But hey at least its balanced by 30K killshots, hah!

The beta weekend gave me a real feel of p2w… You’re going to need HoT to compete, no question about it.

If you’r talking about WvW, then it’s not a druid, it’s new PET.
