What I would like to know is whether crafting will be required to make the new legendary weapons.
If you read A Legendary Journey it seems pretty clear crafting will be part of it.
Crafting is fine as is with experience.
ps. why would a key farmer be bothered with crafting? The run takes about 25 minutes and requires exactly 0 crafting. As far as lazy levelers, tell that to someone who has run through world completion multiple times and wants to save 12 hours on his next twink.
I do keyruns now and then I seldom use crafting unless I have more green wood and copper then I can store. I have to ask how do you get to lvl 10 and do the personal story in 25 minutes?
Spring Fling with activities like planting trees off the beaten path, finding lost chicks and returning them to their families, no point in letting us know that Mommy and Daddy are big bad angry birds, I can see where it could be a lot of fun.
Ascended rings can be purchased for 10 Pristine fractal Relics and if you use the Dailies 10 of them are not hard to get. Edited to add the word ascended at the beginning of my post
Sounds kinda stalkerish to me. If someone wants to know what I’m wearing they can ask and if I feel like sharing I will. I don’t see any use for this except bullying or deriding other players I can’t think of any good reason to make that part of the GW2 community.
It’s been well worth it for me. I have a personal Guild Bank and I use it but I know if it was ever compromised anything missing from it would be gone, Anet does not replace anything taken from Guild Banks so just for safe storage it has been worth it to me, the Heavy Crafting bags are a huge bonus. I guess it really depends on you and your needs.
Go to contacts and change your status, it may take a couple of times but it worked for me.
You did this? Well, I’m glad they changed it then. Every time I’ve seen peps advertising their guilds repeatedly like this, I’ve done the right-click report + Spam on them. Every one of them.
Want to advertise your guild in-game? Do so in PUG dungeons, in groups you’re in during WvW and sPvP, in groups at world events. Actually talk with other gamers. Do not do a generic copy&paste advertisement that is as invasive to chat as it is annoying to view.
I got my best guildies like that. New people wanting a guild and some friends do not go “I should hop on the forums” (especially when the recruitment forum is a mess now), or "I should hop into a party! They normally read the map and go “I could join that, yeah!”
When I was new and wanted a Guild I hopped onto map chat posted what I wanted in a Guild and had my choice of 3 Guilds, they whispered me politely, within a couple of minutes. I liked it much more person to person.
I think it’s related to the current voice bug with characters. Right now your character will say something that another character says across AN ENTIRE zone. Even if you’re not of the same race. Heck my human said “For the Imperator” and last I checked they were not a female Charr.
and here I was hoping they shut that doggone thing up, my hopes dashed
Welp this happened to me too except I didn’t realize the chest came from a bug until after I opened it. I was kind of close to getting a chest so I just thought it was fine until I looked to see a bajillion HoM achievements. I don’t have a GW1 account either and it looks like we’re all getting the same achievements and points and things.
Same here, I really want to believe Anet will not penalize ppl for opening a chest, lots of us don’t watch our AP their mistake not ours for trusting the game.
Donno about anyone else but i received all the GW1 achievement points and this account isnt connected to a GW1 account. I recommend everyone who got a chest from this bug not to open it cause the devs can place a temp ban on your account for taking advantage of a bug.
I just got that too I don’t watch Achievement points so opened it and then being the clean bag player I am I put things away. I checked my Hero panel to see what I had got credit for and saw those listed so I signed out and came here. It was nice seeing all those points but I’m sure they will fix it, oh well
Medium armor has to be the worst of the 3 classes in this game, trenchcoats and more trenchcoats, Light and Heavy have much better selections of course that’s just my opinion others may and probably do disagree
Back when I used to do fractals before the fractal update months ago (before they added the newer fractals), I’d regularly do fractals scale 28, 38 and 48. There was a period of time where I’d run all 3 on a daily basis and I think I averaged a fractal skin every other day at the time. Scale 48 and even 38 seemed to have a fairly decent drop rate from what I remember. I don’t know if the update changed the drop rates though, I haven’t done fractals since then.
I’m missing: GS, warhorn, torch, harpoon gun. I have all the other fractal skins and I’ve gotten just about all of the Fractal skins from lvls 19, 29, 38. I get my ascended chests from 38 or 49/50.
Fractal level 8 and just got a Fractal Warhorn last week doing a 1st lvl Fractal.
Impossible. You don’t get skins for the 1-9. Go away, troll.
Nice, hit me up in game and I’ll ping it for you, unless I’m misunderstanding what ppl mean by a Fractal Skin I got one. I got a Tribal Warhorn on lvl 1 Fractal now if I’m wrong I am sorry Fractals are still unknown territory for me, I wish I could say the same about hateful players/posters.
Fractal level 8 and just got a Fractal Warhorn last week doing a 1st lvl Fractal.
It would be quite simple to gate everything behind the expansion and still have the core of the World continue to change. All LS would simply start in the new map areas, where the LS takes you that could be anywhere and probably will be.
It’s a skin I can’t think of reason it would change the sound of a Rifle?
Players lying dead on the map, whither the scale the event up or not, are a distraction and unnecessary distraction. The fix is an easy one after say 30 seconds their death mark looks like any other NPCs easy easy
And it’s because ANet hopes that if they, PvE players, get hooked on PvP/Fractals/WvW, that’s “new” content to them and content ANet doesn’t have to generate since it’s already there, just underused by some.
Thank you I really wondered why Anet kept pushing PvE players to play parts of the game, now I know. I will never PvP but fractals I might do and maybe a tiny bit of WvW as long as I have the option to lay down and die rather then fight others players. Again Thank you.
Be aware armor or weapons you purchase with karma or badges usually can not be salvaged or Forged so don’t put expensive runes or sigils in them.
Please make it an option since there are so many degrees of color blindness, and not just in the chat, give us a level play field already.
Don’t care for Fractals much myself but the daily just do single Fractal is quite easy to solo. I take the Ascalon one on lvl 1 and 10 minutes later I’m done with a Pristine relic to show for it. No biggie
My problem is that it requires running fractals, which I have no interest in doing.
That was my biggest drawback as well but now that you can get a Pristine Relic for running 1 little piece of a Fractal or 2 for running the complete set it shouldn’t be so bad. Just think if you get a Daily with both Fractal options you could run a lvl 1 Fractal and get 3 relics. I did it before the Dailies changed so had to run 10 complete Fractals it wasn’t so terrible and I met some really nice people.
Time gating adds value to the Crafters, you can sell the spiritwood the iron the inscriptions you can sell just about every piece you need to build an ascended Weapon or piece of Armor and that is one place Crafters can make a lot of money, I for one LOVE time gated mats.
Not really a problem, IMO. You can still get skill point scrolls from Champ bags. I have WAY more skill points than I’ll ever need.
You have them, now, but will they still be there once your experience bar becomes the Mastery Training Bar?
Probably WvW brought with Badges of Honor, I know mine was brought with Badges and I can’t forge or salvage it either. Buy orders help to take the sticker shock out of replacing your Runes. You can always keep it as a spare set just in case.
The actual Armor set can be passed down to any of your characters that wear the same weight class Armor, so take good care of it
One toon holds consumables one toon hold insignias one toon holds inscriptions no need for buying the same things again and again let alone 3 times. This works whither your talking about recipes from events like Superior Sigil of Torment or straight up crafting recipes like Zojja’s. Granted you are going to have to pretty much decide that those toons will not be deleted, ever, but that is still cheaper then buying the same recipes over and over.
How about this… this might sound crazy but hear me out…
Let the PvE’ers do their thing in PvE….
Let the PvP’ers do their thing in PvP….
Let the WvW’ers do their thing in WvW….Have alternate ways of obtaining the same prizes, specific to your preferred game mode. PvE’ers should not be forced to PvP… and the other way around.
Nothing, nothing in the game forces PvEer’s to PvP or PvPer’s to PvE if you don’t want to do what is necessary to get World Completion, then don’t, no part of the game will be denied to you because you can’t be bothered to do what everyone else who want wanted World Completion did. There is no part of the game that requires you to tackle and accomplish World Completion no content will be denied you nothing that that you can’t play because you didn’t do what thousands of other players have done. If you want a Legendary then buy one or do what everyone else does and build it including a bit of mapping.
Hero panel works no matter what level you are and I would hope even new players check the icons at the top of the screen.
I doubt anyone who has taken the time to do Map Completion would be happy with this work around or any work around for that matter hardly seems sporting.
New account old account I have never needed to PvP to complete my dailies in 15 to 20 minutes, they just aren’t that hard.
As far as dailies are concerned, the system gives you dailies based on the highest level character on your account. someone with an 80 on their account will not have the same dailies as someone just starting the game.
Very true, I brought a second account when they were on sale and I finish my new account dailies in about half the time as my main account takes. I don’t doubt if I tried to finish the dailies I get on my main account with a lowbie well I honestly don’t know if I even could to be honest
A sickle with a chance for an unidentified dye, I’d buy that fro a dollar or 1000 gems
I have 4 +6 agony resists but no option to make a +7 on my Artificer(500) any help would be appreciated.
That’s because Belcher’s Bluff isn’t a Daily Activity. Go to LA and speak to the Activity Directer near the Loin statue today’s Activity is Sprint and it’s fun once you get the hang of it.
Graduated kick system, first half only the Leader can kick works well for PUGS that asks for certain build or professions, third quarter kick with 3 or more players consent, last quarter dissolve the party everyone loses takes at least 4 players to instigate gives at least some protection to solo Dungeon runners and stops players from kicking to help their friends or guildies. I’ve never understood the logic of 2 players being able to kick it just doesn’t make sense, of course I could be wrong but is it just a suggestion.
If you consider an Alliance the same as being a member of a Guild none personally I don’t see them as even close good thing we don’t need to agree
Guild Halls in GW1 made sense because you belonged to 1 Guild not up to 5 just saying it seems kinda pointless for GW2
I’m a little annoyed at the way the Festival page is set up. Why put things that don’t count towards the Meta on the page? I did Snowball Mayhem, waste of time it didn’t count, I did Toypocalypse again waste of my time it didn’t count either. Honestly if I had known that from the beginning I would have saved myself 3 gold paying that Ho-Ho and the annoyance of wasting my time even trying to do this. Really why no warning that not everything listed counted?
My time hasn’t changed but I’m having more fun no more grinding out 8 Dailies everyday. I do 3, today I did a quick Fractal brought some Blueprints in WvW and mined a Home instance in Rata Sum and done in almost no time at all. I’m taking a little break right now for a cuppa, got strange Headache cough hangover cough but when I log back in I’ll be doing what I want instead of what I need for Dailies.
Thanks for the responses, knowing what is generally expected is a big help for me, I’m not a chatter so I will make an effort to say Hi once in a while and I’ll see if they have a website and check it out, thanks again to you who offered helpful advice.
I’d say your singing to Choir for a lot of us but even the word Choir makes me want to hurl anymore.
I just recently joined my first non RL friends and Family Guild and I have a few questions, yes I know I could ask the Guild but I would like to know what is generally expected. What do Guilds expect from their members? Do I need to inform them of when I’m on or what I’m doing, how a spend my game time or if I’m going to be busy with RL stuff for a while? Am I supposed to drop what I’m doing if a guild member or officer wants something? I know what I can get out of a Guild, buffs and other people to bounce ideas and theories off of and maybe even someone to run Dungeons or Fractals with what price should I expect to pay for that? Generally speaking
Why do you think that players need to be “encouraged” to take part in content? If the content is fun for them they will do it. And there is no “talk to an NPC” choice (from what I’ve seen) so I don’t know why you bring that up.
The reduction of choices is a continuing theme in GW2 lately that is a problem for many players and which could turn into a problem for Anet if players are unhappy enough to leave.
As i said before I think people should take part in all wintersday content if they want the rewards.
Not only does it give them a reason to at least try some activities they might dismiss out of hand because its a game mode they havnt enjoyed before (snowball mayhem) but it also keeps the activities, well active lol so they dont die out within a week of release.
If doing 1 of these activities is so unfun and awful for someone then they can easily ignore the daily and try again the next day. Its not like they lose anything other than 1 laurel which can be got simply by logging into the game now.
Id be more inclined to agree with you if there were unique rewards tied to the daily, but there arent.
Edit for typo
The thing is there is no try again next day because the Dailies are the same 6 every single day, and to complete the Winter Festival even though there are many thing included on the page many of them don’t count towards the 11 you need. If you for whatever reason can’t do the Bell Choir you miss out on the Dailies and Winter Festival altogether, that is not choice that isn’t even close.
I like the new system because of the new rewards: I’ve never been a fan of dailies because the only rewards were too general and not enough (laurels and coins). With the new system I get PvP daily so I get a PvP reward. Same with WvW, and *eww" even PvE.
As far as getting the AP, I really don’t understand why people’s first reaction seems to be: “I won’t do wvw, so I refuse to go into wvw” Even though killing a sentry is very, very PvE.
Speaking only for me but WvW is as much about some of the people who play there as it is about the game mode. I will sometimes play WvW but as soon as it starts getting ugly, and sometimes it starts that way, I’m gone and PvP is even worse IMO. I’m not trying to slam everyone who prefer those parts of the game just saying some people can get really ugly and that play style seems to bring out the worst in some.
That is exactly the same as PvE.
Maybe, to a lesser degree in PvE. I’ve played both modes and a whole lot more of it in PvE and I have never read the kind of posts in PvE that I have in WvW or PvP. Different places with different objectives so naturally people response differently. It’s to bad WvW doesn’t offer more rewards to balance things out playing there just isn’t worth the grief for some players.

AP without a doubt and the chests aren’t bad either, I especially like the Fractal chests. I was so angry when Anet made it so that you had to do Fractals to finish the Mallory Backpiece, but in the end they were right, at least in my case, I’ve continued to try Fractals, I’m not good at them but I’m trying. Maybe just maybe Anet knows what they are doing even if the change annoys people at first.
That’s a trend you started with the reward tracks – I say it was the wrong decision: Content should be available in all gamemodes so you can choose whatever playstyle you want. PvP should have all the rewards like dragonite ore and items that PvE can farm but nothing exclusive. This is the whole PvE has everything, PvP get’s the short end of the stick thing reversed.
PvP should be as rewarding as PVE (it is NOT, currently) and it should havesomething exclusive just like PVE has something exclusive (fractal, for example). I am not willing to exchange my glorious hero armor for your fractal skins, because, from my very personal pov, my glorious hero armor has an additional value attached to it.
If it was obtainable for pve players, it would lose all its attractiveness.
The same logic can be applied to fractal skins, of course.
I hope I don’t pull this off topic but I just started doing Fractals and the only skin I’ve seen is 1 backpiece. Am I missing something?
Grawnk and the Orphans should be in your home instance but if they are aren’t for your low lvl toon I’d try looking there with a higher lvl toon. Seimur’s location changes everyday but Grawnk will give you hints about where he is.
