It IS viable if you know how to use it. Rampage is not ment for raw damage (Signet of Rage fills this role weather we like it or not). Rampage is the controller elite skill for War. Use it when you need to dominate someone and bully them around, keeping someone ont he ground and out of the fight. Runt hrough your hammer skills to control someone then rampage ont hem and bully them some more, when rampage wears out you go right back to pummelling them around with hammer skills again if they are still alive. It works perfect for what it was intended for.
Lestones are needed in absurd numbers for most crafts requiring them. It should be 10 tokens per.
Items used inc rafting should be GRINDABLE…aka guarenteed spots with guarenteed drop rates. If you need 80 lodestones for mh/oh weapons you should be able to pick a spot and grind them out or go into the appropriate dungeoun and grind them out that way in a reasonable time.
The constant anti-grind mentality from the devs contradicts the fact crafting requires a grind in this game. They don’t want us staying in one spot for 2-3 hours grinding enemies to get our materials yet it requires far more time than that to get even a paltry few lodestones. To get 20-40 lodestones you are looking at half a month of solid grinding in one spot of one map broken up in half hour times because of diminishing returns ruining our droprate even more.
Never had a problem with it and I play melee. Know where you are and what is going on. It is a simple click and if you die during a single click action to ignore it you were going to die anyway.
I always laugh about the inflation part fo the argument against raising money, you realize they can cancel out the inflation by capping what you can sell things for (imagine a 1k gold cap on legendaries for example, as int hat is the highest you can sell them for ont he TP and have to risk having them stolen if you use the mail system). Inflation can be ended with a simple code change to cap things based on level and rarity of the item.
In a totaly enclosed environment, inflation really is that easy to combat when there is no COD mail system in place, if anyone complains about losing an item via selling using the mail system the answer is just to point to the TP. You lose the item for using an unsecured method that is your problem not the dev’s. The only people who would leave are the people who don’t really play the game anyway are mostly a nuesance to those actually playing (aka those people you see standing in the TP for hours on end using spreadsheets to try and control the market).
Typically speaking, most games have far TOO MANY particle effects on weapons/armor.
The fact so few skins exist is a good thing. Makes the game look less anime-ish.
Only x2? Given the size of attackers with the zerg balls…A successful defense should net x5 WXP on the minimum.
Also, if a zerg ball attacks an undefended tower/keep they should net NO WXP.
PvDoor should never be rewarded beyond the fact you got your server more land on the map.
I’d rather have a guild herald that gives 10 min warnings on when any meta event is about to go off complete with linked nearest waypoint.
If elementalists got a wiffle bat, I’d actually play one.
Yeah, the charge is nice at times…when you need that few seconds to summon another pet…because they take forever to summon… Other than that, the charge is kinda annoying because the golem ends up ooc for several seconds… Perhaps if the “elite” ability it had was changed it could be a swimmer and not a sinker…
Going to assume you don’t pvp if you find that skill useless.
Please don’t try to read between the lines; where did I say the skill is “useless”? I said it is nice at times…meaning that it is handy every now and then for clearing mobs for that short break in fighting.
It is just as usefull in PvE, sending him in first to scatter an enemy pack while the remaining minions charge in after. Pet play is micro managing in the extreme, you need to know where your pets are at all times and when to use their skills in relation to how they are oriented and not yourself, if they changed the flesh golem’s skill I’d be bloody kittened off.
In PvP it is a go to interupt that if used properly can take out an entire group of enemies allowing your group to sweep in behind.
Only problems with flesh golem is it can’t swim, and occasionally does not engage enemies.
It should NOT be hard to make the walls one way objects that allow players to shoot through the battlements at the top while not allowing attackers fromt he ground to hit them.
YES, defenders should have an advantage. Honestly I also think that while on a wall, AOE number caps should be removed with a buff that only exists while standing upon the wall, thus eradicating the 100 man zergs with 10 elementalists using staffs up on the walls targetting the gate. This buff instantly goes away if a wall is destroyed, and times out within a few seconds if the gate goes down.
Zerg balls should be heavily discouraged, severely so.
The games are different. When you switch games what you did does not carry over.
The intrinsics of the games are different.
Prove you deserve rewards in the new game, not the old. Yes I have HOM rewards.
Dungouns=enemy strongholds…they are ready, prepared, and know every inch of the place they are holding. Thus there should be only one option, fight for every step you take and leave a pile of corpses in your wake.
Yeah but most people don’t care about RP, so argument like this isn’t convincing. Also removing mob leashing won’t stop speed clearing, people will always find a way.
If you remove mob leashing, they never stop, they follow you throught he dungeoun. you aggro 3 groups you now fight those groups and the boss, they do not stop chasing.
All armor int he quests shares models with others in the world. Just have to find em.
You get 10 laurals for the pvp monthly.
DO SOMETHING!
At least respond.Just look at this.
What is this?716 hours on this character.
And I’m tired of this.
Just let us turn it off.
716 hours played and you totally forgot that your aegis would appear?!
I run the orb all the time as a minion mancer, being able to defend myself without stopping the run and having so many minions to tear down lone orb killers. it is so cute to have an ele RTL to me only to get feared, stampeded, then slaughtered by my minions for being far too squishy to deal with all the interupts available if you time minion skills and your own properly.
Controller warriors are my bane but they are thankfully a rare occurence.
Kal, you hit it on the head and here is another thing I have noticed on my own ranger time and time again…even if your pet is dead and you go down…your dead and untargetable pet cans till revive you with number 3 down skill.
Who else gets an unkillable, unstopable revive?
There is scythe skin for staff, ball and chain is called Flail, you cant fight with motorcycle, whip can not be dual wielded anyway if they introduce it sometime, Handwarp, just no it should be orb, Metal fan? i think they brought in focus to take fan’s place and to be more suitable to other profs like guardian as you never see a soldier running with a fan.
Samurai actually used what was known as a warfan, it was a fan with metal spines that ended in knife edges, they used it to block weapons. Samurai in court, and courtesans both also used them for self defence as you never knew if the fan was a war fan or a bamboo one.
Given that samurai were so deadly that they held off soldiers with rifles for several years in Japan, hard to call them anything else but badkitten soldiers. (yes I typed kitten rather than having the forum auto do it)
Personally, capturing points should not give WXP. Killing guards or dolyaks should not earn WXP. Killing players and siege weapons should earn WXP.
Over 35 people on one side in that area…they should recieve very very minimal WXP.
If people don’t want to take a heavily fortified keep because they lose WXP…they were never interested in taking the keep anyway and likely don’t belong in WvW. WXP/hour people will kill that side of the game.
Edit: here’s a thought, cap the WXP you can earn in any given day.
For pve Signet of Illusionary Haste
passive: gives you (and your illusions) 25 % speed boost
active: you root in place, become invulnerable for 3 seconds and cripples up to five foes around you. (or something comparable, I just remembered the sylvari race elite)Something like this and I would love to replace my balthazar’s hounds immediately. ^^
Mesmers aren’t likely to ever recieve a perminant speed boost signet as your defense and ability to run is already on par with thieves, just keep spitting out clones as you go to slow people down. Or go bunker and just wear down 3 people at a time.
The reason they are calling a target is they are marking a mesmer, a mesmer has several skills to remove a target, thus you keep re-placing it.
Also…“clogs the chat”? What are you doing chatting in the window? You are in spvp, active constantly on the go pvp. The only chat you need there is to be able to notice your teamates calling out for help.
If you are chatting with guildmates and such there, well, you are missing things in the world and likely getting rocked. Use a voip for your guildmates to get your attention if that is the reason.
lothefallen, they are using the world and the lore. Games evolve and change with each itineration. If you expected it to be the exact same game systems only with upgraded graphics you were deluding yourself.
Honestly, mass invisibility should be removed for a mantra that is a 900 radius burst centered on the mesmer, all invisible people (ally and enemy) are instantly revealed and incapable of restealthing for 6 seconds. Using this prevents the mesmer from stealthing for 6 seconds.
No one could ever say that this would be pointless, and the detrimental effect of hitting your allies prevents it from being overpowered and fill a niche ability desperately needed…a counter to stealth.
Alright rune, lets flip the tables just as rediculously. If you stack someone (ergo, use the ability to “finish them”) you lose 20% of your max hp as damage, if it drops you into downed state then so be it, now if you touch the number 2 skill you also suffer that penalty as well…after all it is only fair right?
This is how incredulously rediculous your suggestion is OP.
No, there is already far too much linked and limited to GW1. How about you earn things in this new game.
What you earned or did in a previous game means nothing, earn your props in the new game. If you were asking for it to be earnable somehow in game that would be one thing, asking for something else for the GW1 crowd (which I am apart of mind you) is rediculous. I see this far more often by GW1 vets that cannot adapt to a new game.
This would be an interesting thign to add to an existing map.
Shadow, right click DOES turn your character, it just isn’t a physical representation.
Hold right click while strafing and turning to keep people in view. Use it for fast turns while moving or not moving.
While running and wanting to stay movign in that direction, use left click to pan around you and keep your head on a swivel in wvw while continuing to your destination.
Hence why you have both.
Right click does allow your character to turn. Stand still, right click, whip your mouse, then tap w and look at what dirrection your character is now facing. It turns your orientation without actively turning the character untill your character moves.
Ultima Online had levels, your skills were based upon the LEVEL of the skill in which you had to use said skill. If you decided to switch things up you were suddenly a lvl 1 nub with that new skill and had to go back to easy things to fight or get your skull crushed.
Eve doesn’t have levels? It has worse levels than every game in existance with time based skill aquasition needed to fly certain ships or properly use certain equipment. To effciently use your ship to it’s fullest you had better of had your pilot learnign a select set of skills while you weren’t logged into the game of a series of weeks/months depending on how good you are at timing your log in/set skill/log out as you learn skills far far slowly if you are logged into the game. Counter intuitive much?
SWG also had levels, you grinded out skills on set paths, like UO you had to get back to simple mobs if you wanted to totally reinvent yourself. Or worse yet, the original holovid grind to become a Jedi made leveling seem like a much much MUCH beter alternative.
The leveling was always there, just disguised…and disguised poorly if anyone even looked at it for a moment logically.
At this point i think they should just throw us a bone and allow bar modification if you’ve leveled to 80 and have the Gladiator title.
While they’re at it, put cast bars in so skilled interrupting can become a role again.
You can tell when people are casting things, they move very obviously.
Adding 2 more weapon skills per weapon would be incredibly difficult to balance and I don’t think anything like that should be on their to do list until they have fixed the many things wrong with the ranger class (and possibly others but I main ranger so I don’t know)
They balanced them before. In GW1 they had a ridiculous number of skills you could use and continually balanced them and added more for every expansion. I don’t expect this to be their top priority, it is just something I would like to see.
Imagine if you chose to get rid of barrage on your ranger for a single target skill that had slightly lower damage than barrage and now single target. You would now be a single target ranger and there could be another ranger that replaces Point Blank Shot with a low damage AoE that causes bleeding? You would now be more of an AoE Ranger than the other ranger but would still be using the same weapon. Now expand this further to your second weapon and you are a completely different ranger than another ranger.
If you think GW1 skills were balanced you are living in a pipe dream, there is a reason so many builds were complete trash in GW1…
Engineer weapons, and kits, are the only ones in the game that aren’t specialized properly like every other class’s weapons.
I don’t even main an engineer and this problem is obvious for them.
Heartseeker is supposed to be a highly skillful attack…to that end I think the homing quality of it should be gotten rid of, if you want to hit with it, then you have to manually face your target, if they sidestep (not dodge, just sidestep) then you miss. That would up the skill requirement for what should be a skillful manuever.
Also, as many thieves that have seen me post before…I dual pistols in pvp with my thief and regularly out survive and out kill the d/d thieves that are seen everywhere. Seriously…the class wasn’t well designed for assassin playstyles. You will die over and over again.
By havign weapon skills be the same for everyone and locked in place, it promotes learning that weapon for that class as part of the “skillset” for this game.
Not that I don’t agree with you that we should be able to at least move around those skills, that is just the reasoning used by the dev team.
Achievement points is a silly way for leaderboards givent hat you can easily crank 1k points in a few hours through disassembling whites off the BLT.
I consider my GS legendary now. I run the Charr Tier 2 Cultural GS (lvl 60) and not a day goes by that I don’t receive a whisper about how cool it is and asking where I got it. So for the non-Charr I point them to the BLT.
The nice thing about this game is that I already have my Legendary stat on this GS so I don’t have to chase the real Legendary unless I want the skin. With how many real Legendary GS’s I see now, I like the one I have just fine.
All races can buy culteral weapons.
Real heavy armor needs plated skirts to allow for mobility and to protect the joints of the legs, same reason shoulder armor hangs down over the shoulder socket. The skirt can even be solid metal but it has to covor the joints properly or it just plain looks silly. Even the primevil skin has a small skirt there.
Ninja, totally true. Every time I have seen a demand for zerker warriors I also start seeing complaints about people doign stupid things in lion’s arch about an hour later heh.
No, unique means only one can be equiped at any given time. It has ALWAYS been this way int he MMO world. Geeze, people get away fromt he hand holding of WoW and completely lose the ability to be responsible for their own actions.
Why do they show you armor you cannot equip? So you are able to preview it and know that the armor is there in the first place. If you don’t watch where you click that is entirely your fault. Own up that you made a simple mistake and move on, it is not the end of the world but you should still own up to your own mistake.
Restricted group access has already been happening in GW2, just look at gw2lfg, where you see full berzerker/mesmer only parties farming COF 1 because they have “max dps”, if anything, a DPS meter would allow other classes to design builds with dps high enough to break the warrior/mesmer trend.
There are plenty of non-restricted groups that quite honestly get done faster.
The fastest groups I have been with tended to have 2 wars (one banner healer the other shout healing) and a guardian laying down constant fields. Add in an elementalist that uses every element (rare in all honesty) and the group is nigh unkillable and just rolls right through everything without stopping.
Legendary weapons deal the same amount of damage as exotics, have the same stats as exotics…
There already ARE weapons that exist between typical exotics and legendaries, far simpler things you can gather and toss into the forge to guarente an exotic with a very unique skin (or craft one if you want a weapon coated in ice of molten rock).
Get a commander tag and you can make a 10 man group.
It would be insanely annoying to have things pop up in the middle of the screen constantly, why not just remind your friends to pay the heck attention to green colors at the bottom left of the screen?
There is a simple thing to click on in BLT to get back to your previous search results exactly as you had them. Just click the text at the bottom that literally has a small arrow and says “return to search results”.
Reviving is not the problem, the fact a door can go down through auto attacks in that manner.
/sarcasm on
I honestly think that we need access to insta gib anti-zerg weaponry. Such as a specific seige weapon that can be built that is 25+ people are in the area (aka enough to throw up the sword marker ont he map) the siege weapon will hit for 10% of max hp to all people within the area of effect…friend and foe both hit by it (so watch your aim). All, as in no number limit. Zerg rush a door and watch your zerg become anahilated.
/sarcasm off
Ofcourse I consider that rediculous, Seriously it is a hilariously over the top suggestion.
Want a serious solution? Have guards be placed on a slider based upon map population, if you severely outnumber your opponants than your oponant’s guards will have hp/attack strength/defenses of champs or even hero level enemies, compliet with defience and other special attacks to seriously slow dowkittenerg. Meanwhile if you outnumber your opponants heavily, your own guards become trash mobs, stripped of even vet status as you obviously have the numerical advantage to defend things yourself right? Require those numbers to show up just to deal witht he guards as a means of erasing numerical advantages.
I’ll admit that even this one sounds like a joke…but it underlines the true problem here, numerical advantage needs a balance factor that is automatic and severe enough to honestly slow down the overwhelming numerical zerg. Heck even having siege weapons for those who are outnumbered dealing x2 damage would be a huge factor to slow down and cut into numerical issues.
I agree, I’d like to be able to toggle aegis off shields, client side so enemy players can still see.
This I can agree with, having it turn off for yourself is fine. In PvP I regularly check if I see that shield up as it lets me know if I should blow a skill or auto attack first to remove the block.
I don’t think they’ll do it, but legendary dyes I can see happening
They have already mentioned legendary armor in various posts. Just that they are lookign into it though, nothing more.
Thank you Sinifair, it amazes me when people post about lore and haven’t bothered actually going around talking/listenning to the npc’s.
In Orr you will hear an asura (believe he is actually in the camp south of fort trinity, though could be in a different camp on that map) actually grumble about how hard it was setting up the waypoints in Orr.
Hardly siphoning when the extra damage you just gave them made the kill that much easier.
Seriously, everything that is a poi should have lore surrounding it at our fingertips.
The WPs should have even MORE lore available to us ala a journal in our hero menu. After all, why did the waypoints get placed there by the asura? That in and of itself is a lore entry waiting to be explained.
Problem is the majority don’t want seperate skills, they want abilities to be the same.
Also, WvW is PvPvE. Which makes it impossible to have split skills.
If they added this, they will force titles upon you based on stats you needed.
Rather destroying the purpose of the titles.
This also creates yet another vertical progressiont hat is not needed int he game.
Want to see how this idea trashed a game? Go look at Aion. Everyone from any given class always used the same title while in pvp. Then you had the go-to farming title, the long distance running title…titles became a meaningless stat boost that everyone had to have just to get that extra one up over those who didn’t have them.
