When I understand all hate for immobilize, I think it should’e been stackable since the release. Yes, it can really mess some things up, like for Ranger where you have to either wait for proc or waste cleanse signet to get out of immobilize, but hey! Now at least Ican immobilize-lock people for better kiting and I like it!

In case someone like to argue that there’re not 3v3 TDM arenas in GW2 Universe – read “Edge of Destiny”

Okay, so…Let’s begin. As we already know, many people in this game demand small scale deathmatches. But, due to awarness of some class/comp advantages I’ve thought about something like….Worms. Yes, you’re not high, Worms!
So, what’s it all about? Well, we have different Arenas. Square/circle shaped, about 6000 range wide with a lot of different objects such as bridges, pillars, stairs, trees, whatever to encourage good meaining of Line of Sight.
Okay, so let’s say we have these 3v3 buddies, each time in the corner, waiting. Each team knows what classes are they about to face but ofc no other tips. You can change major traits, but can’t retrain before the fight, same goes for utilities.

Okay, so the fight starts, each team gets to starting corner and prepares to encounter.
Here’s when the Worms theme appears. In different places on the map, the bundles starts to appear in some time periods. Now the fun begins:
-From the early beggining, each time gets 2 weak bundles for their starting location. One is red bundle (offensive), second is blue bundle (defensive).
Wth? Bundles, colors? Let me explain:

-Red bundles – Offensive ones. Large variety of them. For instance:

a)Weak red bundles :

Bundle which , thrown at certain location, prevents enemy from stealthing in that area for X seconds (Reveal).

Bundle which adds conditions to targeted enemy, when he’kitten.

Bundle which stealths your party members within certain area.

Bundle which disable hit foe from using his elite skills for X seconds.

b)Strong red bundles

Bundle which instantly turns all boons into conditions in certain area for the enemy

Bundle which immobilizes all foes in certain area

Bundle which transfers all conditions from your team on foe/foes in hit zone.

-Blue bundles – Defensive. For instance:

a)Weak blue bundles

Bundles which give boons

Bundles which heal everyone in hit zone/party

Bundles which create helpful area effect fields

b)Strong blue bundles

Bundle which gives targeted ally immunity for certain effects for X seconds

Bundle which create strong party-aid effects like Reflection Bubble, anti condition
zone (Hallowed Ground?), Healing zone

Bundle which shifts all conditions into boons etc.

Bundle which creates very strong and large versions of combo fields

Bundles which revive allies.

Yellow bundles – They’re neutral. They work for both teams upon activation.

a)Weak yellow bundles

Bundle which apply certain conditions or boons to all players and NPCs

Bundle which cause random combo fields to appear around the map, each working for some time for one team and then for another.

Bundles which prevent players from having boons/conditions/reduce or buff damage/healing done in certain areas around the map, affecting both teams.

Bundles which do certain damage to all Players/NPCs around the map, unaffected by block/evade etc effects.

Bundles which heal all players on the map

Bundles which recharge/fill/revive all class mechanics for all players around the map

b)Strong yellow bundles

Bundles which make all players around the map immune to damage for X seconds

Bundles which prevent everyone from healing/boons/moving/stealthing/going immune/blocking/evading/dodging around the map for X seconds

Bundles which disable all class mechanics/utilities/weapon skills for all players around the map for X seconds

Bundles which will revive one next or recent downed player on each team and all pets.

^These are just basic suggestions!
So here you have. All bundles would be usable for both teams, spawning in random places, but not really close to any players.

Bundles, once picked, change your weapon bar to bundle bar, same like with other bundles, and last for certain period of time.
There also could be some theme-fitting combo fields spawning for both teams on their beggining halfs like Fire Field for Team A and Fire Field for Team B on Fire-Themed Arena in some time periods.

Bundles would have names matched to them, they would be marked on mini-map, no more RNG. Each bundle last for certain time, then dissapear. If you like the bundle, grab and get it. If not, leave.
There would be max of 2 different items at the same time. They would drop in time periods. From lesser bundles to strong ones, the longer game lasts.

Players playing Arena would get Personal Bounty. Bounty=MMR. But higher Bounty means better, exclusive titles, rewards and more money for each won game!
I suppose Arena could be either located in PvE (just without food/runes restrictions/other tricky stuff) or in Mists PvP zone.

Someone who we know is very powerful, not only because of his powers, but mostly because of connections. Someone who’s not either bad or good, more like grey.
Someone who isn’t mad or working without the reasons. Person who is very confident, adult, who we feel is always step further than us. Who has clear ideas, not to “destroy the world muahahaha” but more like someone who has his own vision/idea on how to “fix” thing, a born leader with charisma, yet not loud.
It can’t be any crazy technican or zomg big boss. More like a man in a suit.
It has to be someone we would like to join

Lol, I thought about it and got to conclusion:
Let’s say they introduce a “white flag” you equip instead of weapon and wave and you can’t be attacked and can enter all locations.
Now, a 50 man zerg enters the castle waving flags, pretending they’re only for beautiful vista.
They enter, they drop the flags and equip all weaponry..
It does feel similar to some myth, isn’kitten…
Only thing lacking is a big wooden horse

Back in the days when Death Shroud was stopping you from dying to falling damage…
Once near Bluewater on WvWvW me and my fellow encountered small zerg and started to harass it, trying to split it up. In the result, after couple minutes of killing outsiders and harassing zerg most of them came to us, falling down the cliff from Reaper’s Mark and “Fear Me!”. Remained were chasing us, mostly me because I wasn’t able to disengage as easily as warrior buddy, so I just said to myself “Kitten it” and jumped down he cliff, absorbind falling damage with quick DS. We were laughing so hard when one after one, those zerg children were jumping down after me, dying (about 7 of them at once lol).
Another one is pretty recent. I’ve been sneaking up when playing my ranger to enemy zerg commander, knocking him off the cliff every time he appeared. It was hillarious when after like 5th death when he saw me, standing far away from his blob, waiting for him, he turned back to call his buddy guardian, keeping stability from then all the time just to not be pushed off again xD

[Gold] Dungeons vs Champion Farming

If you raise your MF over 200%, farming is definitly better source of money. Not to mention, you don’t have any risk of random dc, bad pug or anything. T6 mats drop very often from champion loots, each can be like 20-30 silver on quick sell, you get crafting mats from salvaging all crap…

Piercing arrows

It works with Point Blank Shot already. Not sure about Concussive, will have to test, but I think effect applies only to first target.
Personally, I’d move Piercing Arrows trait to adept in skirmishing.
Another step should be mixing it with current bleed-on-crit trait, making it similar to Necromancer’s adept Soul Reaping trait, which allows L. Blast to pierce and inflict vunerability. This way, we clean up one Master Major slot for MM.

Thief/Engi or Necro

You can go with Power DS Necromancer. When it requires some skill, predicitng and timing, once you’re in position you wreck all classes. Critting around 4-6k every second is very scary for most opponents, especially thieves. You lack sustain, that’s true. You have to keep your LF bar as full as possible, even sacrificing health if needed and re-charge yourself between fights, but once you hop in to Death Shroud and start spamming Life Blast… They’ll literally turn 180 degrees and run away. I’ve been killing warriors, good d/p thieves, other necromancers and possibly every other class and build with it. You can do it too, unless you kitten up something.
Big + is nobody expects from a necro nowadays to not run condibomb spam. So they’re not even prepared unless you kill them 2 shot.
Just to mention: Full zerker D/P thief dies in 3 Life Blasts max, when I don’t even run with food, without full ascended, some cavaliers and valkyries. That’s like… one Doom fear ?

I think the best new pet they could add to this class is one that works.

So I’m not only flagged as a troll… I would like a Ram that can charge in a straight line and stun/knockback everything in its path like a necro pet.

Porcines already have such charge skill. Charged 3 sec knockback in line, but not possible to control with f2

And crafting can be leveled with time (30 minutes a day to do Ori/Ancient wood runs).

And do the 30 minutes a day to mine Ori/Ancient also give you the 60+ globs of ecto and 60+ T6 mats needed to level up one profession?

Champion Farming in Frostgorge does that very quickly. Atm, I have enough Ori, Ecto from salvaging drops and T6 materials to craft another proffesion to 500. I just lack Ancient Wood, they don’t drop from salvaging that often as Ori

October 15 Patch - Our Constructive Feedback

From Ranger/Necromancer/Warrior experience:

Overall:

The Good

Tooltips - Nothing to talk about. Great clarification, demanded and well-implemented. Big +. Same goes for UI
Sigil of Paralyzation Fix - Welcome fix. Expected it to be fixed earlier, coupled with Fear working with this sigil, but still good.
Reducing conditions “cloud” - Helpful tool.

The Bad
We haven’t killed Scarlet yet - lol, trollz
Zerg-friendly mechanics - That’s a big issue in the game. Bosses and Champions still cannot really protect themselves from zerging. The direct damage of AoEs shouldn’t count pets and minions. I feel some things for couple bosses which would help from mindless zerging (sure names have to be adjusted to the lore, theme and background). Examples? Sure! :
“Mirrors of Punishment” – For X seconds, all damage you do to the boss is shifted to you and total 10% of this damage is spreaded as a DoT to all allies within 100 range. To reduce the effect, you have to kill Mirrors spawned randomly, not closer than 1000 range and not further than 3000 from boss in random direction. Total 10 Mirrors. After destroying all, the effect of the spell is reversed for Y seconds for the boss, affecting him instead.
“Corrupted Leech” – Boss starts channeling Corrupted Leech for X seconds on all foes within 600 range, dealing X damage. Corrupts 1 boon every 1 second and deals Y more damage each time boon is corrupted. If there’re no foe within this range, Boss begins to heal for Z each second. Doesn’t count pets and minions.
“I Will Avenge You!” into “Finish Them!” – For X seconds, for every creature spawned by Boss players kill, the Boss attacks Y% faster dealing Y% more damage and heals for Z% of total health. If no creature is slain during this time Boss becomes more vunerable, taking K% more damage. However, remaining creatures from this point take 50% less damage, gain Defiant and do Y% more damage and attack Y% faster for every 5 seconds they’re alive. After all creatures die, the Boss is no longer vunerable.

Condition Spam - Too much condition spamming. Make conditions more tied to 2,3,4,5 attacks thus making them more powerful and telegraphed, but reduce amount of them on AA.
Melee domination - Melee dominates the game. Why? Range of most boons applied is melee range or close-range. Speed reduction when strafing is to great.
It’s very easy to “break” the skill, giving it full cd or ICD when trying to turn or strafe. Strafing left is much less effective and harder than strafing right (no clue here). When those are no real problem in melee, they’re on range, especially on key abilities and skills with higher cast time. Other reason – no reasons for going full possible range.

Missing Things

- More range skills which function like Ranger’s Shortbow #3 (Quick Shot) – “Usable when retreating”. It applies mostly to ranged weapons skills requiring you to face the target (not AA).
- More tactical bosses and mechanics like described ^. Less dodging out of red insta-death circles, more thinking.
- Personal condition cap for every player in PvE ( not WvWvW).
- Lack of Deathmatch.
- “Gargoyles” shown as the creatures from GW1 not kitten eaz-mode griffons painted black. Add Gargoyles and Mergoyles the way they used to be – annyoing, intelligent, humanoid, spellcasters. Currently Ogres are closest in look to old version.

That would be for Overall opinion.

Protect me prevents contesting

It was useless in before so it’s useless now. Giving +pet health to all game types and/or reducing damage transfered to pet by 50%-75% would be welcomed. As it is now, you can use it 1v1 if you run with bear as a pet. Nobody who does any PvP outside of big zerg blobs runs with bear pet. Yet bear dies quickly under the shout if more than 1 player focuses you. It works only for situations like you want your pet to work like 2-shot aegis. After 2 hits he’ll be probably dead. If not, send him to attack and break the shout, preventing it from dying.

Thief and Warrior (warrior especially) synergize well with Power builds. While Power oriented Ranger is strong vs. other warriors, mesmers and many others when you can utilize kiting, we need a class which will help us maintain decent range and peel off thieves when they jump around, bursting. Something like Sword+Warhorn/Hammer Warrior is a perfect peeler and helps our class A LOT.

New reliable PvE and WvW build

You can’t rely on Bear’s f2 condition removal when going into any serious player vs. player. You’d get crushed quickly. Either SoR or EB is IMO mandatory and base for any pvp ranger build outside of 100% melee condi tank which can stay inside H. Spring for whole duration.

There is also another trait called PREDATOR’S INSTINCT, also worth trying.

Seriously, if someone thinks anyone will roll with 2 second cripple on 15 second cooldown, working only on targets under 25% health..
Weakest trait I can possibly imagine. Something like “Get /dance2 command when target is below 25% health!” and naming it “Victory Fever” would be 100% more useful.
Not sure if peope like that one just trolling or…

It can be really strong in any scenario if used in right time. Traited, gives 2 second immobilize + 10 second lasting, pulsing cripple field. Although the size of the field could get some major upgrade, like 50%, it’s very nice for close quaters and corridors etc. It’s literally 50% (and more, counting condi + duration) cripple field uptime. In PvE can be used for kiting (especially for Risen since they all tend to ignore your pet, unlike other mobs and go directly for you with greater than normal speed). For sPvP you can use it like in the middle of the fight on the point to cover the point and make everyone inside crippled for a long time. Many people tend to ignore such things as everlasting cripple, cuz it’s not condibomb, yet it can be very, very deadly coupled with hard AoE, also prevents from escaping.
For WvWvW, great thing in small scale combat, I wouldn’t suggesg with LB since it requires greater range, but with SB you can kite things like Warrior around it. Works fine for escaping/locking down. Strong vs. classes with counterable gapclosers (Warriors, Necromancers, Elementalists, Engineers, Rangers) and worse against semi-counterable (Guardian, Mesmer). Works pretty bad with Thieves. But, to be honest, none disengage ability can counter or work well against easy gap-closer port spamming thieves. Worth to have on your bar.

Condition skills for GS and LB

Some kind of “Glyphs” suggested long time ago would do something. Like Runes in Diablo 3, changing nature of the skills. But too much balancing. I feel that having weapons focused on power (maybe with some conditions useful outside of doing damage) or conditions (but with some things like Quick Shot for SB aswell for fights) is a better option than having hybrid weapons, scaling neither good with condi or power. It’s just hard to balance and people want to do go in certain ways, imo, rather than being jack-of-all-trades. Look at our Axe MH. Mostly used for conditions, yet weak Power AA. No real idea.

Generally, I don’t like the ideas. Too much bounding with Spirits, spiritual flames, spiritual attack. Some ideas, though, like adding blast finisher to Maul seems pretty .I have my own suggestion to SoH upon activation – You and pet get an ability to see and hit stealthed foes within 900 range for 6 seconds. 30 sec cd.

Pigs would be amazing if Forage’d ability would be accessible on F2 or F2+Ground for ally. Giving both yourself and ally a stealth or Plasma (yay!) would be totally awesome since Porcines’ responsibility to F2 and cast time is fairly OK. And their racial Charge ability could use some cd and cast time reduce. It’s amazing against zergs, knocking line of players for rough 3 seconds
Problems with many pets are very simple – They have little to nothing to actually support ranger himself. Like for example (Dream of Dreams):
ANet gives us ability to control racial special pets’ skills such as porcine’s knockdown, spider’s web.
Now what to do with bear ? Apart from some nice changes like giving cleave to pets I see some fixes;
a) Their heal ability. Let it be a frontal cone cleave attack, giving regeneration + small heal for every foe hit.
b) Invincible roar. Simple thing. Once casted, grants Bear immunity for direct damage for 5 seconds and Ranger for 3 seconds. Amazing, huh? I’d switch to Bear in a heartbeat. It isn’t long enough to be hat better than traited SoS, but 3 seconds is fairly enough to quickly counter some large burst incoming. + Bear immunity could work well for even longer immunity via “Protect Me!”
Also, switch all useless F2 attacks that do nothing to help the ranger aside from applying low damage on long cast time to mkre utility based. Like some pet could release the Ranger from all movement imparing effects and for next couple following seconds that pet would “eat” slows and immobilizes thrown onto Ranger by himself. (Yes, “Master’s Call” – essential thing).
Simply give every single pet like 2 types of damage-only (maybe with some little effects) used by pets themselves (still, controlable if needed) and 2 skills working as different utilities. That would be a large improvement in variety.

For OP – You know that Berserker Stance negates all blinds for at least 8 seconds, right ? Constant blinding may be a little bit annoying but it’s not really that problematic for Warrior imo. Idd, if you have no sustain and miss because of the blind it’s rather bad. But most of the Warriors now have nice sustainso with skills timed right you’ll do fine.

Does anything beat a competent D/P Thief?

With Sick Em’, double bow and some CC, Ranger can lock D/P Thief for long enough to kill. The only flaw is thief opener, after you survive and start counterpressure, they either start to run very far with Infiltrator’s Arrow now to not get caught by shout and restelath or they take the challange. In second scenario, especiaply if you have both Bows, it’s very possible to kill them within 4-6 seconds.

Nicely done. Although longer cripple instead of Immobilize would be greater by far for PBS. Still voting for AA range requirement depeted, period and moving Signet of Beastmaster trait to BM tree, giving us Zephyr back.
Btw, L. Reflex needs to rather remove movement imparing effects than recharging weapon swap
Overall, nice ideas, may couple with my Pet Command system ^^

@Guzzi – can only agree if you’re playing power with rifle. Otherwise, Engineer is fine like never, one of the funniest classes to play and skillfull, no doubt. Wish all classes had that many possibilities.

If they implement “Ranger” name of the class instead of “Woodsman” “The Noob” “Beastmaster” “Joke®”, in class descreption they state that it’s an archer, utilizing range, give us range weapons I’m not really surprised most of the rangers want to play at range with a pet, not really mainly in melee.
If Rangers are not supposed to play with bows, the game is left almost completely melee/mid range oriented, since bows for Thueves and Warriors are being used as a secondary aid weapons, thus there’s no archer in the game and we’re left only with Warrior Rifle. Conclusion: Warrior performs the best in PvE, PvP, W3 and is only long-ranged class, hero period, lay down peasants.
If ANet really hates all kind of ranged options for Rangers, no problem. Name us different, remove LB and SB, shatter wet dreams and give us some staff and a mace maybe.

Okay, so let’s begin. Since we can’t get any attention nor response, we’ve already started to make some kind of desperative feedback for ANet, introducing a petition even. Clearly nobody in ANet plays Ranger class after Robert Hrouda left the company. As we could see in patch preview, devs presenting couldn’t even find a trait they’ve been talking for some time. That trait hasn’t changed position since release and yet they were searching for it in wrong spec trees even, looking for minor trait in Major traits for BM and NM.
We couldn’t get into any discussion with devs for like half of year now and I higly doubt they care, counting Ranger as powerful “petting zoo” condi/bunker specs every, single, Ranger, hates.
But please, make it happen! Don’t lie to us (“weapon changes”) and I beg you, ArenaNet, listen to community.

Weapon changes, as expected.
LB seems cool, L2P if you cannot stay at 1000+ to do any damage. Better learn to roll.

Ah, two cool things. Muddy Terrain got welcomed fix, although small radius stays.
Biggest of all, Runes of Speed are fixed now which means that we can free up one utility slot from useless signet and bring something more worthy!
