Wow cloak had like 2 animations, designed for humans. That,s why it was clipping some times with some armor sets and mostpy with other races.
Now I believe they want to make full animated cloaks which would be kin of hard to do, agree. But nothing really stops them from making little to no animated cloaks/tabards IMO. Personal company preference

2v2 3v3 Arena

I’ll post my suggestions for 3v3 arena and PvE 5v5 Arena this week.
First one can be located in both tPvP and PvE PvP like W3 (but without any buffs like food). My idea is not to create simple arena, because IMO, thing like this would be always dominated by certain FOTM classes/comps, but more like arena with some more cool stuff which can eliminate certain aspects of enemy team/ buff yourself etc. Remember Worms supply Boxes ? Think about them as Powerful Bundles able to pick up by both teams
As for PvE one – that’s basiclly Arena of Trials. Spectateable, where best PvE teams will face hardest and most complicated PvE bosses and situations. No hard rezzes, only from downed state.
Meant to be like a tournament for best PvE groups with guaranteed excellent rewards in the end.
Soo.. Till the Friday or Saturday !

Command log? Something like map-wide or zone-wide chat, where you could use some basic commands. It could even utilize a mini-map, allowing commander to mark/draw something quickly coupled with quick command log. I don’t know really what commands could be implemented, but something like scrooled/numbered commands in a quick menu under a hotkey (like in games like SWAT/Rainbow Six – “Break keep gate and flash inside!” – could be awesome xD).

Shortbow mastery

the only thing i dont like about the shortbow is actually crossfire, it just takes too much of your damage away when forced to stand infront of the target (maybe if it was poison or burn i would) however i am all for it being condition/positional with the rest of its skills as that would reward you for being in the right place rather than cripple you for not being in the right place.

id prefer not to use 2 bows in the same build since it just seems a little odd to be carrying 2 around with you for some reason (not gameplaywise but you know)

and im sorry but why are some ppl saying “buff the range on shortbow” its a SHORTbow so its supposed to have alot less range than a LONGbow… why do you think its even called a shortbow apart from being smaller than a longbow. (see the short and long in the names there that might just give you a clue about their design)
although they could probably add a range stat onto range weapons also altering their effective power accordingly but id hate to be the guy designing that off the rage it might just incur

100% agree. #1 isn’t even designed for greater ranges, heck, it’s much more useful in nearly melee range when you can constantly switch sides, running through, jumping around. This way, it’s much easier to flank and flanking means +damage on shortbow, regardless of the build.

Thieves to OP/All other classes are broken

Notice it’s probably written by a Ranger. That ranger is not condition spirit one, probably power one. None will consider Power ranger as a top meta. Unless you’re really skilled in it, you won’t see killstreaks/ successfull 1v1. Most Powers run straight GC and full signets for big numbers. You can’t really blame them for doing that, Ranger is most broken class of all, and the reason why most of us roll condition is because it’s the only source of damage not reduced by having a pet. No thief considers bow ranger as a threat.
While I have no problems with most of classes, playing as power, even highly UP. I’ve been playing as a MM hunter class in WoW for a long time, either when it was OP and nerfed to a meatshield. For whole that time, I’ve been making constant, slow progress in my own tactics vs. every class and after some period of time, there was always a point where I had certain counterplays for most classes. Now, back to GW2. When I’ve found counterplays for almost all builds and classes (Yes, even current Warriors), I find thieves very annoying. Dueling with this class is like a mouse fighting with cat. When I have to be extremaly focused and playing flawless to win with good thieves, they usually are relaxing, spamming gapclosers. When I try to kite as good as I can (although kiing is very broken in this game, reason why pvp is dominated by close to melee range builds), they don’t give a single kitten, they’re not punished with it at all. When I fight with melee, I want to be rewarded for keeping range, being ready for making tactics and active playing. That’s why I prefer fighting with any Warrior, even most OP builds, because they have gapclosers, yes, but telegraphed, allowing to counter them somehow and with some cooldown – so I know I can use this time to my advantage.
With Thief – none of mentioned above. They just stick like glued, blinding constantly, without single cripple/chill even. No. Spammable, not telegraphed gapclosers, requiring no skill at all, without proper counterplays.
This state has to be fixed. Reduce spam, give more counterplay. That’s all I want.

Leap on such strong ability is a bad idea and been since the release. Thief already has way too many easily-spammable nice gapclosers, absolutlty no reward for smart play, no counter for builds utilizing range, thieves are hardly kiteable, just spam one button most of the times and you’ll be on target regardless how dumb you are.
I would be after more control, setting combos to deal greater damage not by spamming one key but in longer period, finishing combo with really deadly abilities. That’s said, Thief gapclosers bounded with brainless key spamming has to be changed. Give thieves more blocks, control and utility, but take away perma evade/perma stealth. Make them strong in active melee if they choose so, but give kiters some breathing room and ability to counterplay, punishing thieves for brainless spam and rewarding for predicting and playing to it’s strenghts. Like right now, I can’t see thieves using any cripples like Dagger 4 to keep on the enemy. They don’t need that. There’s always some imba leap or teleport, ready to be spammed.

Fun sPvP ranger build

Pretty cool. I can suggest spider instead of wolfie or dog for AoE poison field immobilize (they cast it almost right after put in combat, so just stack traps on immobilized target) and possible root/weakness on F2. Porcines are kind of nice, but rather for power builds, their charge is long and can knock multiple foes on the way, but has long cast timelong cooldown, doesn’t work that ad, but I prefer pets with shorter cds and more damage for toe2toe combat. Btw, porcine with Plasma or Stealth is better outside of zerg/heavy train. The time you spend to pick up bundle and use it is too long to be viable invunerable offensive. However, it’s kinda cool, very cool when you wait for thief to show up and perform his stealth burst. But as I say, porcines more for WvWvW and power.
“Protect Me!” isn’t great either. I would replace it with Reflex or Muddy Terrain/Frost Trap for extended time you force people to stay inside traps. And use RaO. In current meta it’s best thing we bave vs. warriors outside of kiting.

Whats the weakness? to warriors

It can be though, but still warriors are less problem than S/D thieves since you can control them pretty well.
Now, for tanky warriors – I won’t give any solution, maybe conditions, but I just skip ones with more than 3k armor, they outheal large chunk of my damage too easily, extending fight and it often ends up in other enemy showing up during “duel”.
As for zerky warriors – Since like nobody runs Mobile Strikes anymore, Krytan Hound+Jungle Spider/Black Widow seems like a fair trade. Knockdown and tons of immobilizes are always good things unless warrior runs Lemongrass. LB/SB works pretty fine and Muddy Terrain seems fine. Not many runs double bow, since you lack escape “oh kitten” 1200 leap and block, but when it comes to harder fights, it’s fairly better than LB/GS. Offers good damage and kiting ability at all ranges.
Typical version is – if warrior sucks and many of them do, I kill him rather quickly, not running any signets, burying him in constant and burst power damage. If he’s a good one or using trait Reflect Missiles, it may take a while and he has the upper hand. If he runs something like Sword/GS build, I just skip, not worth engagin, currently too hard counter.

They’re not. They just need someone to peel thieves off from them, like hammer warrior. Ranger totally destroys mesmers, as mentioned, do good with Warriors, especially if you have sb instead of GS or someone who can slow/peel the warrior. We do good vs. glassy thieves once we get the opportunity to counterpressure (no blind, range, some CC, combined forces thief to either try to stealth or die), we’re excellent vs. current engineers (since we have really long range, their bombs don’t work, nades are easy to step-out and their effective range is far below ours). Necromancers can be a problem, we have to play rather defensivly and rip them off part after part, keeping pressure from range, disengaging to not get caught in condibomb (kitten you, spite signet -.-). What else? For Guardians – they’re tough, but not hard to kite, alone they take time, but being not a problem. Elementalists – these can be troublesome, they still have great sustain vs. us. if not caught off-guard (without water on cd), good ones will simply kil us over time.
Greatest nemesis are still thieves, no doubt

For long-term skirmish I would suggest LB/SB and going for 20/20/30/0/0, you’ll perform superior as a range damage dealer/CC, but it lacks “swoop away” disengage ability.

Btw as you maybe don’t know – Gargoyles and Mergoyles are both inelligent species of spellcasters in Tyria. They don’t fly, they look like made of stone. I can’t really say what were the things in MK ealm last year, but not real Gw lore gargoyles, that’s for sure.
And I can’t see Gargoyles as ranger pets… Intelligent spellcasters performing “Protect Me!” ? They would most likely hex you to death instead :p

Counter Mace Stun Warrior Duel Build

The current PTV meta warrior with hammer, mace/shield can. Regen 450+ HP a second, can chain stun 4 times in a row, has the highest armor and health pool in the game, and can push over 3500 power with 100% crit.

This build is inheritly broken and you do not need to worry about building entirely to kill this spec. The nerf bat will kill it for us.

This meta broke spvp and due to anets commitments to MLG, they will have to change it. I would wait for the skill change annoucement later today.

He can also sing “Imagine”, shapeshift into a polar bear, run as Bolt and is considered as 4th shape of christian God.
Seriously, so much bullkitten. 3500 power and 100% crit with PVT gear? Still highest armor, eh ? 5000 maybe and perma protection?
And seriously, if you can’t take something like Mace/Hammer you mentioned… Maybe it’s time to reroll? Setup you’ve mentioned has no mobility at all. No cleansing on demand, no gap closers, no burst damage. If you face something like that 1v1, run and shoot, ocassionaly slow/immobilize since he won’t be able to cleanse it.
Honestly, if you are having problems with such kitten setups 1v1… No words.

Not even try to grab a bow. Rangers are kind of fine, as long as you don’t touch bows, stick to close quaters, go defensivly with a lot of HP and heals/spirits + conditions. Power is in state of extinction if you want to go any kind of non-melee.

Traveler runes are basiclly current “meta” for power ranger builds, so first stepwould be to get them. Second – you bring spider mostly for their long immobilize, poison field is cool, but not really needed since you have poison on SB and can get weakness from spider. Combining that poison field with any of your weapons means that 1. You wait for RNG field which can be totally useless when you kite at high range 2. You need melee option for that and I wouldn’t suggest any. If perma dodge/evade thieves are having problems with them, better stay ranged, they’re very poor if you’re ready for their gapclosers.

Any build with SB/x works pretty well with warriors. Tbh, going for Longbow instead of sword will give you the upper hand, combined with Krytan Hound and a spider, with proper play no Mace Warrior should get to you without outside help. Stealth on their stability/zerker stance just helps a lot. Going for melee with them, even with weapons that have high evade frame, will just get you killed.
Hammer/Longbow Warriors are major flaw, however due to “Pin Down” skill and our disability when it comes to remove conditions/immobilizes on demand. Currently, they’re very hard matchup and I’d suggest to save either your Q shot or PB shot for their Earthshaker into you, immobilized. Only must-have skills are Muddy Terrain and L. Reflex.

5 seconds. Are you serious? Honestly, who would wait that long? Even casting it in stealth from HS doesn’t make sense because you’ll still be revealed for at least 2 seconds so every non-bot player would see the shot and block/aegis/stealth/interrupt/reflect/LoS/dodge/evade/random dodge slam your 5 second shot.
We need some kind of casted shot, but hell no foe placing it in utility and waiting 5 seconds for it! 1.5 second is perfectly enough.

I’d love for cast time to be reduces but I don’t want to see anything else change on it. I don’t know what you’re using it for, but there’s more to the game then whatever that is.

Kind of agree. Biggest problem imo is our disability to counter these easy-mode gapclosers. Improving PB shot, Quick Shot, Hunter’s Shot, L. Reflex to remove at least immobilize, cut it down on useless damage and vigor, reduce cd by 4 seconds and make it 600-900 range leap backwards, all I want

Chopps, how does your build fair against a warrior with Mobile Strikes?

To be honest, if you take a look at recent warrior builds…None, literally none of them runs Mobile Strikes anymore. Only Warrior’s Sprint.
