Welcome to the thief club. We’ve been getting kittened about since launch.
lol :P im pretty sure 70% off the people who moan are Ranger’s/ele’s atm…well ele’s i understand your pain…but face it getting our hands on you was like nailing jello to the effin wall …and that jello was a unstable mass ready to explode and kill everything nearby…:( and rangers…well i guess they woulda gotten the clue…Ranger does not SPECIFICALY MEAN ARCHER…u kno RANGER/ARCHER same number off letters…NOT the same thing try the RRR ranger…or a Spirit build…hell Trappers rock ALOT off unsuspecting foes :P
Sup, Archer Rangers perform best vs. stunlock warriors
If you want to play a true spellcaster, closest archetype possible to other MMOs + dark themed, simply roll Power Necromancer 30/10/0/0/30. Your Life Force Bar is equal to Mana Bar, you cast very powerful Blasts (bolts of life force). It’s real fun in PvE because it works pretty decent. Just a traditional spellcaster maintaining source bar, having downsides and bursts while in longer combat. You can have 3 total teleports:
-Flesh Wurm – TP to minion pre-set location
-Spectral Walk – Teleport back to the point when you’ve triggered skill, 6 second long.
-Dark Path #2 Death Shroud – teleport to target’s location
Feel free
If you’re running anything outside of BM / Spirits / Traps you’re not going to provide a challenge at all against a player who’s good with his class, …
This is what I meant by not being pigeonholed. Even on BM builds there is a variety. Then there are bleeder builds, I ran a pvt/knight setup succesfully, there is glass cannon, which can also be useful in the right hands. Being pigeonholed would mean that everyone would run the same kitten utility skills. Which they do not.
If you want to deny that then duel me in pvp, if i beat you, then I know you can’t beat some of the players I practice with.
No offence, but nobody cares how good you duel in pvp.
As I said many times and gave a proof, Power ranger in WvWvW if played very well (kiting, not ever going any melee), can most of the Warrior builds 1v1. Not a 3-signet zerker LB/GS 30/30/10/0/0 because you won’t bring down any good warrior in a single burst, but when applying constant damage, keeping poison up, maintaining immobilizes. It takes time and is a challange, idd, but have yet to find a non sword/lb condiwar (these just wreck all rangers, because of our disability when it comes to immobilize removal) which, without changing traits, is able to beat my ranger 1v1 on W3.
Btw, as for PvP dueling. I’ve never truly understood people agressibly denying purpose of dueling 1v1 in mists. Yes, there’s a condi-creep over power-creep there curently and yes, there’s no place for proper kiting, but most of the times, it’s more balanced than WvWvW. You duel without food (which IMO should be disabled on W3), so no -65% condi duration foods+runes, without Bloodthirst, Guard Leech etc. so you can be more equal in here. Dueling in sPvP is just different from WvWvW dueling and I find both fun
Signet of Renewal, Empathic Bond, Brown Bear’s “roarrr-translatedShake it Off!roar.”
No, we don’t have any skill/utility/trait which would remove movement imparing effects only. We just have to use hard-removal on big cd/pray to trigger EB in the right moment/spam F2 till fluffy gets the idea.
Hmmm… What if current owner of Scepter of Orr is now….Palawa Joko? We could work with Livia to get it back from him in a future Living Storys. He’s a kitten ed mummy-lich, not as scary, but hey! We haven’t seen him nor his creations since Nightfall!
Longbow/Shortbow works pretty decent against any Warrior who’s not Sword+WH/GS build with mobile strikes. Most of them run with hammers now, alone they’re not a problem, they may barely scratch you, but kiting with both bows +spider(s) is far superior to their gapclosers. I’ve been always saying that – LB/GS isn’t a priper skirmish/roaming weapon IMO. It’s good for zergs and running away from zergs, but for actual power play wvwvw fighting when you plan to play bows – hell no!
@ as for Empathic Bond – it’s decent against engineers, mesmers, thieves etc but not against Necromancers, Signet of Spite in particular, most OP of their condition 1v1 utilities.
On a side note : Good necromancer will always look for EB. Why? Because once conditions are transfered to pet, they can be spreaded back by Epidemic, essentaily cancelling EB purpose. Not many new-after-26th july necromancers know that, barely any, because they still manage to win. But before that patch, back in the days when BM Rangers were kind of OP, I’ve been wrecking them as conditionmancer(yes, I’ve been necromancer before it became cool
) with that one trick
(edited by Rym.1469)
When playing power oriented ranger with both bows and spiders, single warrior is not even an issue. But when you face a group, having some hammer warriors, they make a lot of trouble outside of RaO
Spiders with Search and Rescue? Nah, keep shouts where they are
As for Longbow #1 suggestion : I’ve already come up with idea how to merge our hard-bang skill into LB. Numbers have to be adjusted ofc and things like SoHunt active and MoC changed to not make it OP, but general idea is quite good I think.
Thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/Ranger-Revolutionary-Revelations/first#post2946489
Check out my suggestion for Barrage too!
One thing : If they ever decide to spread out the content over Black Citadel, be aware. I know from my friend’s experience that this city is 2nd if not most laggy city in-game.
Traherne is behind Scarlet!
Making fresh, new salad
Chernobyl Squad
No, it wouldn’t. Hardly anyone uses Zephyr now, IMO if ypu don’t plqy in zerg or PvE it’s just to little and you socket your utility slot.
So we’re left with quickness on swap which requires us to go 30 BM. It could be good for that traitline, indeed.
Nice little trait, but not Grandmaster – Master instead.
Overall, kind of cool, but doesn’t fix Power builds anyhow
Well, I thought about one simple change : Keep duration, keep cd, but make Zerker stance reduce the damage from conditions to 0 or greatly decrease it. This way, Warrior won’t take any damage from current and further conditions, but it’s possible to stack them up and, biggest thing, it’s possible to kite warrior with Cripple, Chill, Immobilize. So it’d increase counterplay when making you immune to damage, not effect of condition
OK – for the nasty, NASTY PM claiming I’m trying to ruin your bows. (work on vocabulary too – 11 motherhumpers in 5 sentences is too much. I’ll post reply here instead of just reporting/deleting it – and I won’t post your PM, since you’re generally a nice guy on the forums)
Take my traits, and build 30/20/20/0/0
You get:
Marksmanahip:
All the major traits. Opening strike, Eagle eye, and yet-to-be-determined.
6. Quick Draw – bow skills recharge 20% faster.
8. Piercing Arrows – your arrows pierce Targets.
11. Read the Wind – your arrows travel 100% faster. (that’s twice as fast)Skirmishing:
Tailwind and Furious Grip
6: Disrupting Accuracy – 30% chance to interrupt on critical hits with bows.
7: Spotter – Increases precision of nearby allies.Wilderness Survival:
Natural Vigor, Companions Defense
5: Wilderness Knowledge – Reduce recharge on Survival Skills.
6: Survivalist – Using a survival skill blinds nearby foes. (new trait)To me, that would give us a far more powerful archer than what is currently possible.
Also, for the added bonus, with some trait swapping, you could be a sword/WH wielding trap setting monster, or a signet using greatsword wielding Aragorn type.
Believe me, I tried to think of all the possible builds while I was doing this. Really, I gave beastmasters the least thought of any, since it’s a style of play that doesn’t appeal to me, but I didn’t even ignore them.
EDIT: without coffee, my math is bad, and I feel bad. fixed.
Your proposed Ranger is by far weaker than my current 20/20/30/0/0 one. Arrows flying 50% faster? No, thank you. It could be side effect of one of the spirits, same like in GW1, but GM trait? Please.
Other thing : Moving Quick Draw means that I have to give up either on Steady Focus, which is great damage boost when sniping or Malicious Training, absolutely amazing trait if you run double paralyzation spider.
You move EB to BM, which neutralizes my passive condition removal to SoR, which is crap and just too little+takes space on utility bar.
Overall, I’m sure that I perform better now on W3 rather than I’ after your changes.
As I look upon traits, I’d have to go another boring sword or condition build. None of them is effective enough, none of them utilizes kiting, none of them requires you to think. Sorry, but I’ll keep my current traits and wait for better times
20/20/30/0/0 balanced Power Ranger utilizing both bows
Also a good build, yea. I wouldn’t advocate dual bow though, but whatever floats your boat.
I would. You surely lack zerg disengage like Greatsword #3 into #4, but you perform 100% better. Shortbow is great when used with Power builds. One trait we pick affect both of our weapons in this build, you have cripple, great evade/small disengage, stun/daze on reduced cooldown + poison which help greatly vs. high sustain builds and strong (as for Ranger ofc ^^), sustain DPS via #1 with bonus bleed.
Build doesn’t utilize any signets, traps. You may switch your utilities based on situation, none of them is “core” of build.
Build requires some practice, but is very fun to play + totally wrecks those cheesy warriors, not allowing them to land a single hit if played right. Not to mention guardians
If you have any questions, please message me in-game : Misspoland

Ah, forgot to mention – it’s best when played when roaming, 1v1, 1v2 or small group roaming. It isn’t very sustain under hard pressure unless you master timing. Be sure to bring some good player who’ll peel if things go nasty and tell him to bring on-demand condi removals. Empathic Bond is great 1v1 or 1v2 but if you get immobilized and condibombed right after, It won’t be enough.
As always, keep maximum possible range! It helps alot, not only with melee, but also with semi-ranged! Remember, if you keep most classes, like Engineer or Necromancer with 900+ range, they will hardly do anything!
(edited by Rym.1469)
I don’t like your trait changes. Just personal preference on current ones.
Besides, moving away pet is a bad idea. They just need some QoL fixes and more control over them by player and I think they’ll be perfectly fine. Honestly, I love having different pets. Giving them improvements and more variety/control make very unique mechanism. I’m after keeping pet with both hands, taking it away just decreases class overall skillcap which IMO even now is kind of low if you play certain builds.
On a side note: Why the hell would you give :
Predatory Season – Deal 5% more damage when within 300 range of your target. (new trait)
To a tree based on erm… “Marksmanship”? Made for Bows mostly (or at least, with idea of it) ? You know that erm… 5% is nothing and when playing with bows, you usually want to perform “Kiting” which, to shorten it up, is all about staying at max possible range, dealing damage with your bow all the time?
I think OP is mostly a PvE 1h sword/WH dungeon fast-runner
Hey,
In case someone haven’t noticed yet – Jungle and Black Widow Spider F2 tooltips are wrong. First of, immobilize is applied on next pet’s attack instead of player’s, how it’s supposed to work I believe. Second, tooltip on applied immobilize is wrong. From F2 it’s 2 second basic and 3 second with Malicious Tratining, yet tooltip qualifies it same as “Web” Specie Spider’s ability, which is indeed 4 second basis and 5.25 with Malicious Training. Thanks!

With the minimal difference between ascended and exotic, I can’t imagine how they would make the BiS gear meaningful in a new instance unless it included agony…which will really cause rage if they don’t also add a new way to get the AR infusions.
That said, I would love a GW2 instance comparable to UW, FoW, DoA, Deep, Urgoz, etc. That’d make my year.
No big hopes for that. Everything else than 1-shot-everyone attacks and hundreds of red circles to dodge from seems too complicated to implement in current PvE.
UW, Urgoz, Fissure of Woe? Kidding me, right? If there wouldn’t be any shiny backpiece guaranteed after run and bosses which require you to think or change skills…woah, we’re getting into Dream of Dreams!
It’s not even a Krait Obelisk.
It’s merely a big tree covered with wooden materials, possibly shipwrecks. Obelisks are made of one specific material and look more like a pillars than flower
I hope what Matt Visual and WoodenPotatoes said should happen to her.
She stands there talking, sounding boring and cliche as usual. And suddenly a big Elder Dragon just lands on her, crushing her or impaling her on its claw, or whatever.
- and that’s how Jormag/Kralkatorrik/Bubbles/Mordremoth/Primordius is introduced.
I think I’d clap for that perfect landing. Waving the signal ligts could be a part of her final fight.
I strongly hope that if we ever get to northern regions of Tyria and Isles of Janthir, besides dragon, we’ll meet Mursaats
Still not any great villian. She’d fit to Rayman Adventures or Lego Series with PEGI +6, but not to actual MMO.
Most of the playerbase is very fed up with all that magitech and salad all around, I tell you.
Give us a villian like Vizier, Shiro, Palawa Joko from GW1, Vilgefortz from Roggeven from The Witcher Saga, or Azar Javed from The Witcher 1 game, something grim, villian that we actually respect…not a mad salad lady who appears everywhere in every plot, runing it due to her middle-age crysis and menopause…
New skill ‘Summon’: 5 second cast, 180s recharge
Thieves summon a boar
Mesmers summon an ~illusionary~ stag
Guardians Summon a crab
Enginners summon a bear
Rangers don’t get to summon anything
Elementalists summon a firefly
Necromancers summon a grub
Warriors summon Zhaitan
Zhaitan got killed in most pathetic way ever, he’s also the easiest boss I’ve ever seen….even Hogger was greater challange. Seriously, ancient dragon, probably same or even stronger in power than the gods, got killed by a freaking canoon and when he tried to destroy us during encounter, he barely scratched a ship instead of totally destroying it and forcing us to real fight without shinies
As a Ranger, I’ll call Snuffles and better beg him for mercy!
You’ll be waiting a long time for an expansion. Arenanet has been focusing on making gw2 for the Asian market and has been feeding us fluff until it happens. There’s no hope right now but there might be some after the release in Asia.
And eventually the game will become asian grindfest coupled with some hentai
lol ;p
I fear that, where I’d like a new condition for classes like Ranger or Thief, adding more and more conditions will require more and more mass condition cleanses. Skills and utilities which cleanse 1 or 2 conditions are slowly becoming useless because we need to take care about 8-12 different conditions at the same time. Skills which cleanse certain, most dangerous conditions like Thief’s heal “Hide in Shadows” coupled with mass cleanses like Warrior’s Signet of Stamina or Lyssa’s Runes will take even upper hand than they’re now and classes with mostly passive condition removal (Rangers) or without mass-cleanses (Mesmers) will be even weaker.
“Working in secret, the sinister reptilian krait have created the Tower of Nightmares with the help of the Nightmare Court and some other mysterious benefactor” – http://www.guildwars2hub.com/features/editorials/tower-nightmares
So yeah, we’ll have Kraits (who, as lore says, make no alliances due to their religion and xenophobism, but….Scarlet! And everything ridiculous and clunky explained) and more Black Salad. Seriously, we’ve been getting same crap for like months now. Plants, sylvaris, Trees, “mysterious seeds”, technic fetishes….
Arena Net has to be full of people really interested in modern gardening.
There had better be good reasons for why the Krait are on her side. Let’s face it though, whatever those reasons are, we wont find out for maybe half a year or more. This much we know from Flame and Frost.
.There is nothing that says, that Scarlet is working with the Krait.
“Working in secret, the sinister reptilian krait have created the Tower of Nightmares with the help of the Nightmare Court and some other mysterious benefactor”
Guess who is "mysterious benefactor…yeah…
Link to source: http://www.guildwars2hub.com/features/editorials/tower-nightmares
They had to “corrupt” them anyhow, even breaking back Chernobyl, just to not mess up with Guild Wars Lore. They couldn’t mix regular Kraits with Nightmares, salad people, magitech and Scarlet because true Kraits by themselves are very xenophobical and wouldn’t accept any alliance for simple reason: They think about themselves about greatest race of all, every other is good to enslave. They believe they’re unstoppable force for other races and they have no fear so I can’t find any reason why they should ally with “slaves”
So here we go. Epic manouvers on the LS just to mix everything with Briar and Aetherblades&Magitech&plants&salad and don’t break the sense of actual lore.
If I’m not wrong and we’ll see things as I forsee… I think lore will be non-existing and action without a reason once more. Could be pathetic patch if so
No, Scarlet is the best that could happen in this game amongst dragon bashes. festivals, 8 bit games and elections. I hope the expansion of GW2, if it will ever exist, will be based on Scarlet
Not sure if troll, or…
It is important to note that the target audience of GW2 is 20-40 years old. They are too old for cartoons.
GW2’s story doesn’t work b/c they made it like a kid’s show. The viewers might get a few laughs out of a cartoon. But they will never take it seriously.
20-40 year olds watch shows like Game of Thrones and play games like Witcher 2.
The story have to be darker and more serious to capture the correct target audience. There are murders. There are slaughters. There are kitten s. There are betrayal by best friends and family. They are unlikely heroes.
Example: Witcher Series
Side note : Glad to see people enjoying our polish game
However, consider reading Witcher Saga and try other Sapkowski’s books like “Hussite Trilogy” starting from “Narrenturm”. Back to The Witcher games: Geralt’s voice is very poor acted in English version : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EU0_yQ2s6kw – same moment in the game.
Now back to the OP:
I’d be gladly surprised with some mature content. No more Scarlet, just hard dungeon, dark-styled environment, slaves, maybe some blood and gore (Yes, I know, Pegi 12. World of Warcraft also has PEGI 12, but that haven’t stopped Blizzard from making Naxxramas and things like Thaddius (abominated undead creation made of parts of slain people, during the encounter you could hear their voices, screaming http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bn4GYI8S3dU) or another mature content at all!),
For those who try to convince that there’s dark content in the game already:
No, there isn’t. Sure, we have some lich-like lizard which dies in most pathetic way of any end-bosses in games history. We don’t have any connection with him. Big bad dragon eating magic – Slain by turrets -.-
What creates dark content is not only having zombies all around. There’s almost no scary, themed music or sound effects for them at all, they fight like every other human/charr smacking you with weapon/hands/feet. No bites, no other dark stuff.
To make things scary you also have to create an atmosphere. I’ll come back to Naxxramas once more – that’s just a perfect example of how “necromancy” places can be created. With Guild Wars 2 graphics, artism… I wonder how great content could be created.
And for those who argue that cartoons can be scary. Indeed, they may be for some people. But I haven’t bought a cartoon game, though!

I’d like to believe that they won’t ruin dark-theme, but…
There’s one reason why I’m pretty sure that it will have something in common, another time, sadly, with Scarlet. Look at the trailer from 0:19. It’s not very clear, but if you take a closer look, at least the focus the krait standing in the foreground holds in left hand seems like version of Corrupted Focus from Twilight Arbor update.
Second reason is the Tower itself – 0:26 you can see blue-corrupted branches coming out from Tower and then, you can see one more thing – 0:44 – look at the top of the Tower – it clearly looks like flower.
Just look at the title of patch – Tower of NIGHTMARE.
Nightmare+Blue Weapon skins from previous Scarlet Patch+Corrupted Blue Flower trying to look like a tower = Scarlet Briar.
It’s a shame that we can’t just foget about her already and make Patch just about Kraits. As you know, they build their Towers off from single block of rare material and usually in the depths.
So no, Kraits won’t get their lore-wise update, nothing about thier interesting history and culture, nothing about the Prophets, they’ll act merely as servants to our mad lady. It’s possible there will be even more magitech and aetherblades inside, be prepared!
Summary:
Kraits :0, Scarlet:1
Some mature content. No more Scarlet, just hard dungeon, dark-styled environment, slaves, maybe some blood and gore (Yes, I know, Pegi 12. World of Warcraft also has PEGI 12, but that haven’t stopped Blizzard from making Naxxramas and things like Thaddius (abominated undead creation made of parts of slain people, during the encounter you could hear their voices, screaming http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bn4GYI8S3dU) or another mature content at all!),
As we can see in the trailer, shown kraits seem to be…afflicted someow, glowing green. I think it can be connected with Tequatl Rising somehow, but I dunno…
I’ve recently hit 80 and began to run some dungeongs… so my experience is still pretty little… Currently running with Apothecary’s set… Im also thinking about rampager’s gear.
Most people here would agree with running with berzerker’s gear for dungeons. Reason why im looking at other sets now is….
1) Healing power does nuts for me, be it regen, healing springs, heal as one bla bla… no matter how much heal i put out im just gonna get hit hard.
2) I think toughness is …. okkkaaayyy…. but as rangers base health is low, i probably should have invested in vit gear instead.
3) Condition damage so far, is prettySo instead of berzerker’s gear, im looking at rampager’s gear. How nice if i could hit hard, crit high, and still do solid bleeds. Oh I use shortbow in dungeons (longbows wun cut it as i dont really stand that far out) and greatswords (For AOE situations, another reason to go rampagers)…
I’ve tried swapping out stuff a bit here and there for just 1 equipement. Like for example. Apothecary’s SB vs Berzerker’s SB damage and bleeds for that 3 seconds.(Im throwing numbers here, cant exactly remember)
(122dmg) (125dmg)
(247bleed) (224bleed).So although berzerker’s gear does increase my direct damage, my bleeds take quite a hit. So right now, im prepare to chuck away healing power as im really really not impressed and disappointed with that stat… toughness wise im still debating…
Please consider that when running Berserker one you’ll see more crits and +from high critical damage. With Ascended zerker shortbow, still not pure zerker (soldier’s armor, zerker weapons, zerker trinkets, incomplete ascended), I often do about 700-1000 damage per shot easily on non-upscaled. Not even counting bleed.
Yes, it’s just one of the things that keep range oriented styles out from competitive game. It’s just bad implementation of Strafe mechanic in the game.
As I suggested couple times, adding something like this “Usable when retreating”, maybe via some addition to one of MM traits (possibly Eagle Eye),to Hunter’s Shot, Point Blank Shot, Cripping kitten and Concussive Shot would make gameplay feeling way more smooth. With this descreption, they would work same as “Quick Shot” Shortbow 3 without swiftness and evade( My favourite skill on Shortbow by far
). Rapid Fire would still “break”, but I think it won’t change until they decide to fix core game mechanic : moving. So, what could be the effect of that little fix I’ve suggested? Well, same as with Quick Shot, character on using those skills would instantly turn directly facing the enemy, shooting arrow and continuing moving in same direction as before. Seriously, that one thing would be awesome improvement vs. high mobility classes like Thieves. Being sure that when you hit the button, you fire an attack…ah…dreams!
If you seriously look foward to be an archer in current meta, it can work with both Bows on swap and only in WvWvW.
I respectfully agree – this can be sorted out by having a pet turtle. Turtles sort out everything.
(but it has to move as slow as a real turtle, i wouldn’t have it any other way lol)
Let’s say, mobile rock with 30% normal speed in combat and 10k armor +8k vitality with crucial F2 ability, knockback in line “Do a Barrel Roll!”
Would be perfect for zergs
To OP – yes, porcines could get some major changes. Knockback on slighty lesser cd/cast time.
As for F2, not only RNG could be removed, but it could be also buffed in manner like this :
When used, porcine drops one copy of item under your feet and another copy replaces your F2 button. It would be kind of awesome
Maybe to not make it OP, item brought to your feet can’t be picked up by your character for, let’s say, 10 seconds.
Ahh, wasn’t sure if it was changed yet in SPvP
Glad to bring good news, I’ve tested them and they seem to work
Reason its useless in SPvP has more to do with the fact that Movement Speed runes aren’t available in there.
You can’t fit Sic’Em in a build unless you run those types of runes
Superior Runes of Speed have been fixed with recent update so they work in sPvP.
I’ve switched to them in a heartbeat after the patch
Vitality isn’t most-demanded stat and Traveler ones (I use them on W3, same you I suppose) would be still much better choice. But at least I can get rid of that crappy SoH
From my personal experience, as I play LB/SB quite balanced power build on WvWvW, without any signets or spirits, still roaming with nice effect:
-“Sick Em!” has one big problem…It’s useless for everything that’s not D/P Thief and we usually run with something else. I’m still testing if it’s worth more than “Protect Me!” shout (great for cancelling any opener burst for 3-4 seconds).
-When I’m prepared for a Thief, have Sick Em! equipped I find it….quite nice. After initial rotation (AA, RF, PBS) with longbow most D/P Thieves try to Powder+Leap and that’s the point when I use shout, most of the times. From now on, it’s all about if he panics or not. Most still panic, rolling over keys and because of that I can kill them quite easily with constant high SB power damage/CC. However, I’ve already fought better Thieves, which turn either 100% offensive trying to counterpressure and stop some damage or ones kind of ready with shortbow porting.
@jonwar Please note I’m talking about WvWvW in here since Sick Em! is totally useless in sPvP. Haven’t seen many “petting zoo” spirit builds on WvWvW roaming yet.
Hi fellow Thieves!
I’ve been curious how do you find recent revealed buff for one of Ranger’s shouts. I can’t really see that many Rangers roaming with it on WvWvW (Not talking about tPvP for obvious reasons), I don’t do so too, but tried it couple times with nice effect.
Are you more aware of Rangers now or anything? I’ve seen multiple QQs before the patch hit and on patch day and after that…silence. No QQs about Sick Em!.
Does it affect your WvWvW gameplay in any way?
If it does, how do you counter it/plan to counter it?
Just wondering, personal curiosity, mind me
As I said, giving our trap more pulses and immobilize for 2 seconds on trigger from some trait would greatly increase it’s viability. Three traps pulsing for like 7-10 seconds, thrown on the ground, when triggered at the same time, immobilizing for 6 or more seconds. That would make great pressure everywhere. Personally, I’d even go for that immobilize as power ranger maybe
If it’s for PvP…Well, you don’t have condition removal from what I’ve seen. As you’re mostly melee to close-range I’d suggest healing spring. I’d switch Air Spirit with something else, also, but only my personal preference. Since you run spirit build I assume it’s not that bad, however having no toughness nor condition removal can be a suicide.
I can’t really say that I’m objective in here, I dislike all spirit and hybrid builds, even if they work. I think I’m just kind of old-fashioned when it comes to ranger
Allowing me to control my Spidy’s Web and Doggy’s Knockdown…Death to melees, period ^^
I want the warrior balance team doing ranger balance
This. I want a pet with a 7 second cd, 2 second stun.
Or Crab <3
Can be a lifesaver vs. thieves. Also, it’s pretty funny to place it under a guardian. You can literally backpaddle vs. them and yet with MT they won’t catch you without blink
Mesmer as a class, rely heavily on opening and confusing the player. If you manage to break his opening (for 1v1 with cds it’ll be mostly some stealth+spawning Phantasms into quick bursts from stealth). Counter it. If you run Golem as elite, let him get close to mesmer and when he’s near the opening mesmer, let golem knockdown the mesmer. This way, there’s huge opportunity that Mesmer won’t dodge the charge and get knockdown, ruining opener and allowing you to burst. Other “ruining tactic” is a simple Reaper’s Mark (staff 5). You can either place it under mesmer himself or put it in front/under yourself after you get hit by Illusionary Berserker. That move might help against shatter combo, because core Phantasm (immmobilize/teleport one) will be feared.
Fighting with mesmers is a long, painful, lonesome training. Some classes shine in here, some not. As condition necro you have to remember one thing : The longer the fight lasts, less chances you have. Mesmers are vunerable to your conditions and if, like I said, you ruin their opening move and quickly pressure, there’s a high chance that you’ve already won. Don’t forget about stacking Life Force to absorb unecessary damage. Mesmers prefer best, same like Thieves, in 1v1 situations. Nearly all of both classes run glassy, relying on their built-in defensive mechanics (evades, dodges, stealth, teleporting around etc.) so if you catch them out of those or ruin opener, they die or disengage quickly.
@Bastian Dear OP, one thing I’d like to remind you is that if you further nerf Ranger’s Power Scaling (which is no doubt the worst of all classes if you take quick look, far worse than your Necro/Mesmer) then Warrior with Berserkee Gear, standing and not moving will overheal all our bows. Well, he might get a scratch from sword, but it may take a…while. At the same time, our pets, our source of damage, will run back and forth, trying to bite your heel with and amazing, 1/2 damage of regular Phantasm iDuellist.
