Elementalist concerns.

I hear how they are op and forced into a few builds, and I am really concerned they will ruin other classes for me, the being able to fill any role is a big deal for me and usually end up as my mains, but I want to enjoy the other classes as well but it does not seem none are even close to visually appealing and versatile as an elementalist.

Anyways my questions are, what is so bad about longbow in dungeons if the player is skilled and knows what they are doing?

So here’s the deal, longbow is used for the start of a fight. If you have the Quick Draw trait, you get in combat with your melee weapon, swap weapons, use LB2 (Quick Draw will lower it’s cooldown), use LB5, use LB2 and swap to melee when you can. You don’t usually go back to LB as the boss/mob you are killing in a group is usually dead by then. Personally, I prefer to use the Greatsword and Sword/Axe rather than the Longbow so I don’t get the idiots from groups yelling at me because they assume I use/spam LB4. Also, GS3 helps me to move quicker through a dungeon. No matter how you look at it, LB can be a good tool for dungeon work but there are other options.

How is the dps low if you have room to go backwards?

You never move away from the stack, some bosses have mechanics that end up changing because you moved from the stack. Also, if you drop…it’s harder for your group to ress you. You don’t want to be that ranger standing in the back because your LB works best at far range. You want to be in melee range with your group so you can get the buffs and the various aid from them.

Why is short bow only conditions? Can you not build it for better damage?

Shortbow used to be amazing. No one used LB over SB, the SB had an incredible attack speed to make up for it’s other short comings. Because they seemed to want everyone to use LB (guessing someone has a love affair with the idea of a LB ranger), they had to make the SB a less attractive option. They nerfed not only the attack speed but also made it have a much shorter range with no ability to increase it. It’s useless to use with anything but an Asura Moment of Clarity PvP build really.

Would an axe/axe build be good for anything? Its seemed incredibly fun.

Axe is a lovely off hand weapon but the main hand version lacks what a sword can give you. Most of us pretend like Axe main hand doesn’t exist.

What about the other melee types? Can they be just as effective?

The only other melee weapons are Sword and Greatsword and I think most of us have already mentioned that those are your best options.

Ok about the stacking and buffs, why does a ranger who is staying at range need all those buffs to begin with? This sounds like an excuse for a bad playing getting to much agro so they need the buffs to keep them alive.

Thanks for all the answers I am just stating this is kind of what it sounds like, if a elementalist can play ranged why cant a ranger? And if your going to say no classes should do ranged in dungeons I am done, because that makes no sense what so ever, if anything that comes off as a mentality then a fact.

Did you see the video on the link? How can a skill which not hit the chosen target be enjoyable?

i guess you guys just post random things without reading anything.

Look dude I do fine with it, it hits all my targets just fine and has a respectful amount of dps, maybe your not traited for it or something. I am only speaking from experience nothing random about it stop being over defensive please.

Thieves may be at their lowest point in ever, but they still are pretty much a permanent fixture in tournament team compositions. Ranger is almost never even seen in tournaments at all. That should tell you all you need to know as far as PvP is concerned.

I think their bigger issue is being forced into one spec.

I will say that if you are that thin skinned, you won’t make it as a Mesmer.

Yes you were and you know it, I am not being over sensitive it is insulting to say that to someone period, that is like going up to someone who is not enjoying algebra and saying you should stick to something more simple like adding pats on head.

chaos Storm can, yes; but may not reset pistol.
You come to the same point, pistol on mesmer is not enjoyable.
You can play word/torch, gs, staff, scepter, without a Need to switch the weapon.
but with pistol you just can’t.

at the point you switch, it doesn’t matter if you can reset the CD with chaos storm since you need to wait 10 sec. 33% won’t break the game:
Pistol/trait: on mesmer, as it is now, is not so cool.

I don’t know how you count, but [Bullet alone will halve its own cd when hitting and interrupting 2 people.] is wrong.

the video in the first link, is the old version of Duelist Discipline.

I think the phantasm is enjoyable but maybe the issue is we need pistol for main hand to make it more enjoyable but that is probably asking to much.

Other classes need memory to remember skill order.

Rangers need reflexes and awareness to know when to stop using auto-attack for another purpose such as dodge, reflect, Damage Boosts etc.
Rangers are much more about pet control. So our rotations come from utilities and pet (swaps and F2), if you prefer. Not from weapons.

If you want a challenging rotation class – play an Engie. I can guarantee you’ll hate it as much as you’d hate Ranger. They are the same (except Rangers are more bugged and get less attention) in terms of giving twice the effort for half the reward.

EDIT: If you still want to play the Ranger and want a rotation oriented build – play full melee GS+S/A Remorseless. That build has all the rotation you might want.

Thanks, I tried engineer and it was not for me to be honest.

Ryou.2398

Thanks for all the info, but it does not sound appealing to only use one or two skills then swap I prefer using bigger rotations.

The Ranger doesn’t really have any big, elaborate rotations, since they’re cooldown based rather than initiative based. Ranger’s more reactive with its skills than Thief, saving them for the right time (eg, using Hornet’s Sting+Hunter’s Shot with Sword+Longbow to get to a safe distance and stealth if you take lots of damage, or using Serpent’s Strike to get behind the boss for a damage increase if he turns to face you).

Longbow’s damage begins to fall off really hard after the initial burst, since its basic attack does less damage in melee range, and is rather slow compared to melee weapons. If you’re running Axe/Axe, Shortbow would probably be a good secondary option for you, since it doesn’t get any damage penalties in melee range, and is better for single target condition damage, covering one of Mainhand Axe’s weaknesses.

Thanks this helps, I wont be running axe/axe though and shortbow is really only good for conditions isnt it?

Anyways my questions are, what is so bad about longbow in dungeons if the player is skilled and knows what they are doing? How is the dps low if you have room to go backwards?

Why is short bow only conditions? Can you not build it for better damage?

Would an axe/axe build be good for anything? Its seemed incredibly fun.

What about the other melee types? Can they be just as effective?

Longbow is fine in dungeons, but not for its basic attack. Right now, staying within melee range is either the optimal way to kill a boss, or the most commonly accepted strategy (Melee typically does more damage than range, and when everyone sitting in melee range, it’s easier to share boons, making the whole party more effective.) I use Longbow in dungeons because of a trait called Quick Draw, which reduces the cooldown of your next weapon skill by 75% after switching weapons. Basically, switch to longbow, use Rapid Fire (which will now have a 2.5 second cooldown), use Barrage, then use Rapid Fire again. By that point, you’ll only have about 2 seconds left until you can swap weapons back to a melee weapon, and you’ll have applied +20 stacks of vulnerability, making it a fantastic burst weapon. You can also do this in melee range without losing damage.

What makes a weapon ‘condition based’ or ‘damage based’ depends purely on what its skills do. Shortbow has a bleed on auto attack, a poison on its second skill, and a bleed on its fourth skill – power builds make no real use of those bleeds, which are fundamental to getting the best out of the Shortbow. On the other hand, the Longbow has vulnerability on its second skill, and the utility of a stealth on its third, something berserker builds appreciate since it gives them some form of active defense. Longbow also has no damaging conditions, meaning a power build’s the only way to really use the weapon well.

Axe/Axe certainly isn’t optimal, but if you really like it, then there’s no reason not to use it. Axe main hand works best in areas where there are 2+ enemies to hit, or where you need some wide range AoE damage (Like the bomb golems in Crucible of Eternity). Mainhand axe’s second skill is a short cooldown bleed that does more bleeding at close range, so condition damage would be a good way to increase its damage. On the other hand, Offhand axe is more pure damage, with Path of Scars doing seriously stupid damage if it hits both ways. Whirling Defense is very situational – it doesn’t do enough damage to justify using it whenever its off cooldown, but it does reflect projectiles, so you can use it as a defensive mechanism or to do lots of damage to enemies with high damage range attacks. I’d reccomend making armor with the Sinister prefix (++Condition Damage, +Power, +Precision) for Axe/Axe, simply due to how well it scales with both condition and raw damage.

The Ranger has 2 melee weapons – Sword and Greatsword. Sword is the highest damage option, and has two built in evades, which is useful for keeping up the Steady Focus trait (+10% damage when your endurance is full.) However, the Sword has a nasty auto attack, which roots you in place during the 2nd and 3rd attack in the chain, and can make dodging very difficult. Kind of a high-risk-high-reward weapon. Greatsword on the other hand is a safer melee weapon, which allows you to move during auto attack, has evades on auto attack, and a block. Its damage is good, but not quite as good as Sword. Both Sword and Greatsword lack any real conditions, and are favoured as power weapons.

Thanks for all the info, but it does not sound appealing to only use one or two skills then swap I prefer using bigger rotations.

Edit: Now I see what you mean. Could have done with some punctuation in that sentence as it looks pretty confusing.

But yeah, you need to spend a bit more time on Ranger if it “seems” to you that thieves have more problems.

Well considering all the info from the forum they do seem they have more issues, considering they have been nerfed constantly, it happens in every mmorpg with stealth classes and this is what it is usually about just because they have stealth does not make them op.

My punctuation is fine it is not hard to understand what the word seem means in a sentence.

You’re wrong. Thieves don’t have an entirely broken profession mechanic, they don’t have.. you know what? I’m too tired to go through all this again. Jesus Christ just go read through the Ranger forum and you’ll see what’s up.

This will get you started: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/Feedback-BWE2-Druid-Impressions/first#post5471079

Where did I state they had a broken mechanic? If anything there dps is suffering, and all that thread did was talk about some issues with some of the weapons which pretty much goes for nearly every class. And this is beta stuff anyway therefor its not even final.

The entire weapon set could be pretty much fixed by replacing ‘body shot’ with an actual skill that does something - quite surprising nobody mentioned it yet. Ricochet isn’t needed here, unless you want AoE in PvE environment, but even then you should use shortbow instead. P/P is a single target nuke/control set.

So in general are thieves good for pve and just have issues in pvp?

“Anyways my questions are, what is so bad about longbow in dungeons if the player is skilled and knows what they are doing? How is the dps low if you have room to go backwards?”

ATM it’s all about stacking. LB are good on some bosses in Fractals, where you need range weapon, but DPS output are much less then s/a

‘Why is short bow only conditions? Can you not build it for better damage?’

You can, but physDamage multiplier are worst from all weapons in game.(even NecroScepiter has beter physDps)

‘’Would an axe/axe build be good for anything? Its seemed incredibly fun.’’

RH axe are good for COdi build. LH Axe are only for Phys build, So you can use a/a, but you’ll be not effective.

‘’What about the other melee types? Can they be just as effective?’’

s/a are best physDPS for ranger. a/t – BestCondi ranger and best DPS overall of ranger.

Facts are things like “Pistols attack from 900 base range” and “Unload fires 8 bullets”. Opinions are “p/p can be effective at single target damage” and “p/p is fun to play in X style”. If you want facts just go to the wiki, there’s no point listing them here. Facts don’t get people excited to do something, opinions do. Opinions are what will convince you to try p/p. Your experience will then let you draw your own conclusions.

Yea I do not think going to wiki is going to help me I did to go the pvp lobby with thief and looked at the skills and traits, but I cannot fully grasp whats going on from this alone. If p/p are good at single targets and you switch to more of an aoe style for multiple encounters then what is the issue?

What do you mean inferior? In any rpg game melee should always hit harder then ranged because of risk/reward and my mesmer and ele do great at ranged.

Heh sorry, I meant with Dungeons and Fractals…I tend to come thinking from that point of view. Longbow in open world is great and by all means, use it to make things pass by quicker! Though, as you go through the open world, don’t only rely on that range. Get used to being in the faces of enemies and learning when to dodge. This is especially important for sword, as the 1 autoattack will lock you into place and you cannot dodge until the chain is finished (so even if you have it unset to autoattack, as you spam the 1 key you can still easily lock yourself into the chain).

As I map complete on one of my rangers, I usually have my Shortbow (this is only because I have the legendary and I like seeing my stupid rainbow hoofprints lol) and either sword/axe or greatsword. I do find though that by replacing the bow with greatsword and only using melee while running hearts and stuff, I get around faster. GS3, swoop, is an amazing map completion tool! I’d rather replace the bow than the sword, as sword gives me two evades and is way more useful to me when I’ve already GS3 into combat than a bow would be.

Ok cool so it sounds like the ranger is closer to arogorn in lord of the rings, the kind of a jack of all trades in the fields and close combat.

Do they require any decent skill to play?
Not to play, but to actually use well? yes. You have to micromanage your pet quite a bit and know the most effective loadout to get the best effect. If you’re just standing back and plinking away with a bow, you’re doing something wrong.

Are they liked or disliked by the community and for what reasons? Bad players?
Ranger’s have had a stigma against them from day 1 as the “noob” class because there’s a large number of players that hop on ranger without learning it and assume the pet will save them. Particularly egregious in the case of those who let a bear carry them to level 80, and then don’t know how to play their class in a dungeon environment, which is largely where the stigma comes from. It’s a good class if you know what you’re doing.

What can they offer in groups?
As others have said, not much at the moment. the Druid elite specialization looks to be a support setup, though, so we could be seeing that aspect change.
As someone else said, though, Rangers are incredibly self-sufficient, and there’s been times where I’ve ended up taking the last chunk of health off a boss by myself because my team went down, and in certain situations I can even use my pet to body-block projectiles for the party. It’s about understanding what you can and can’t do.

Do you tame pets or do you just get class choice pets?
You get a free one at the start (I personally recommend drakes, which are available to 3/5 races) but tame them afterwards.

What race has the coolest ranger animations? No asura please weapons are to small.
Human and sylvari animations feel the best, with the large races being awkwardly shunted into the human timing for animations and asura feeling very floaty in melee. they’re all good for ranged combat, though.

Are the melee skills cool to?
… eh, yes and no. There’s a bit of contention around the way the sword auto-locks you, but that’s solved by going with a geatsword. All-in-all, the class feels very fluid outside of the sword auto-attack, which can be very clunky.

And do all arrows look like wooden stick or can they look like elemental arrows when
you use an elemental bow for example?

Wooden sticks, yes, but the legendary bows have different effects. here’s Kudzu, the legendary Longbow.

How popular are they? I do not care for using over populated classes
Despite what some may think, Ranger is actually the third least played class in the game, beaten only by Mesmer in second place and engineer in first. Mesmer and Engineer are justified, as they’re odd for the genre and are mechanically kinda finicky. Ranger though? Ranger is perceived as sucking, and the vast majority of players prefer to swap over to something else for power and support.

Oh my that bow wow, still hearing allot of complaints about bows in general for rangers.

Anet has learned that if anything is said players take the information and run with it. When what has bee said changes it causes more problem then remaining silent (players rage some quit and forums blow up).

There are also to many outlets for dispensing information. Anet has said that the root on the sword was working as intend yet people still ask we they will fix this bug. One dev said (on twitch) they will look into the root on sword 2 year later people are still using that quote. When later a forum post say he looked into and the changes he tried had a very minor affect and wouldn’t be implemented.

Anet has always said that nothing is certain until it goes live. They have clearly stated this many times: yet people still call anet liars for not doing what they have said.

Yet you people wonder why anet isn’t more forthcoming. Every week we see post about pet stow but, anet has stated they have no plans of ever doing it. This could change but this decision is solely anets.

We all have thing we would like to see in the game, but when you are demanding stuff I really think your out of line. I Think to many people are used to modding games (in one way or another) and don’t know how to get good or enjoy the game they have.

A suggestion is just that and some people act like anet must do x. I think GW2 is the best game out at the moment is it perfect no but what is.

Suggestion and concerns are always good. More transparency isn’t always the best. We get a lot of information from anet. The issue is its not the information you want but, its not all about you.

Anets priority is doing whats best for the game as a whole, not whats best for your main class.

The solution of having pet name on client side may not work when its laggy culling can still be an issue at time but namely always show because it server side. What happens if you remove the name client side pet with no name would be bad. Creating a check is just more work.

Rangers act like anet doesn’t like ranger but they have put more work into the ranger just with the 45 pets and accompany skills. We also have the luna wolf. Maybe we don’t appreciate the work that has gone into the ranger. Do we need work yes, but to say anet hate rangers is bs.

I agree with you and this is true with most games, however I do not think any company hates a class I do however think they may neglect from being to popular at one point in time and which causes issues in pvp, it is kind of a necessary evil. However it makes way more sense that they have trouble because of their many pets, personally I could take the trade off of having class pets instead of grabbing all of them from the world, as long as they where unique and cool enough to play with.

2. Disliked mostly. Many play on easy mode with a long bow and pet that tanks for them. This will work in pve overworld but is a pretty bad way to play in group content. The higher skill ceiling also means most only interact with poor players tarnishing the public image. It’s also not a favorable pick for ultra hardcore groups in any mode at the moment.

3. Plenty of things but not much that isn’t already provided by other classes. The druid may change this but time will tell. The only thing we can really shine in is regen spam on allies but there is no content that takes advantage of this at the moment.

4. You can tame up to 40 land pets and 21 aquatic pets (many are used in both modes). The ones at creation just determine which you start with but you are not locked to that one and any race can get all the pets.

5. Hard to define coolest objectively. I’d recommend making one of each and playing with them a bit to find what works for you.

6. Wooden sticks and you won’t see it in your hand when you draw the bow nor will you get a quiver by default though 2 skins exist. I must add that one is very expensive and the other is a limited time gem store skin that is only very occasionally available.

7. Newbie rangers abound though I’ve found the class to be relatively low population when you reach lvl80 compared to classes like warrior or elementalist.

Thank you for the answers, but regardless of how someone feels what is coolest some are more over the top then others so I guess which ones look faster and more fluid? Id rather not spend that amount of time looking at every single race.

Questions about guardian.

So I play an ele and mostly mesmer at the moment but I am looking into a more melee oriented class.
My questions are,
How popular are guardians? I do not care much about playing over populated classes.
Do any of there melee styles feel fast or are they all slower paced?
I noticed they have lots of cool magic would you say they play closer to a battle mage then a paladin?
What race has the coolest animations for guardian? No asura please weapons are to small.
Im pretty sure I do not need to ask how they do in groups:)

Thanks all!

Looking into playing a ranger.

I was going to play a thief but it sounds like they are very outdated at the moment.
My questions are
Do they require any decent skill to play?
Are they liked or disliked by the community and for what reasons? Bad players?
What can they offer in groups?
Do you tame pets or do you just get class choice pets?
What race has the coolest ranger animations? No asura please weapons are to small.
Are the melee skills cool to?
And do all arrows look like wooden stick or can they look like elemental arrows when you use an elemental bow for example?
How popular are they? I do not care for using over populated classes
Thanks everyone!:)

Man I was hoping to make a thief, I have a mesmer and an ele and do not really play my ele yet but wanted a more rare class to play, the only other rare class I have seen is necros and they do not appeal to me at any level.

Suggestion: Removal of Food and Nourishment.

Hello everyone,

My suggestion is to remove food and nourishment from the game entirely.

Back in the day, Guild Wars 1, I always hated the idea of consumables, as they were called. I didn’t enjoy the concept of having to use consumables to complete certain content in the game. In Guild Wars 1 the use of the three consumables was referred to as a “conset”. These consets were used to do high-level end game content, and, basically, became a requirement for that content. Consets became an important part of the Guild Wars 1 economy and there were people dedicated to crafting these consets for end-game content players. If you don’t know what I am talking about or don’t remember, use this link (Conset). To emphasize, these consets were a requirement. The reason I felt so negatively towards the concept of crafted boosts in Guild Wars 2 is partly to blame on Guild Wars 1.

In Guild Wars 2 there are no “consets”, but there are Food and Nourishment (F&N). F&N are two separate, craft-able/purchase-able, buffs which increase the stats of the user. Now, I understand that F&N aren’t a requirement to play any content in GW2, but it sure does make it incredibly easy. Let’s face it, everyone wants their build to be the “best”, and what better way to do that by increasing your stats with F&N, right? So, if you’r going to be the best, you’re going to carry a couple of each F&N you want. I know I do. To further illustrate my point, I started to work out a pro’s and con’s.

I know the trolls are going to come out of the woodwork for this topic, but please remain open-minded. Before you make your comment please keep these questions in your mind.

-Is it really adding to your overall experience?
-Does it make things too easy?
-Do I always use it? Why?
-Do I usually win 1v1 fights against those who don’t use it?
-Do I craft my own for fun? Or just buy it off the TP?
-Do I offer it to other people when I see them without it? Why?

Cons of removing F&N
-There is a crafting discipline attached to crafting F&N. Which would mean losing that discipline. It would be a major blow to the overall crafting system.
-Removes “content” from the game.
-Makes end-game content and dungeons tougher.

Pros of removing F&N
-Easier to balance game for ANET.
(“If we add this skill, and a player runs this trait which increases it’s duration, and the same player uses x food and x nourishment. Would it be overpowered?”)
-Increases difficulty of content.
-Increases balance in WvW.
(Since F&N isn’t a requirement not every body uses it. For example, you come across a player who is using F&N while you aren’t. Your defeat usually is quick and painless.)
-Removes currently unbalanced F&N.
(For example, Koi Cake increase condition duration by 40%. If you’re using a condition damage build, and, for example hit the foe once, your damage is increased by 40%. While Truffle Risotto grants about a 7% (estimate) bonus to overall damage depending on your build.
-Removes useless F&N
(Nobody uses Apprentice Maintenance Oil, when they can use Potent Master Maintenance Oil.)
-Other see introduction.

Possible other solutions
-Allow only players under level 80 to use F&N.
-Remove from WvW, dungeons, and fractals.

Thanks for your read and consideration.

I support this 100 percent, I have always hated the concept of consumables since my first real western rpgs.

Is thier another way I can use swiftness?

Hearing I can run a centaur every 10 seconds is annoying as hek! Inspiration is a nice buff and all but holy crap arenanet really? Cmon guys are you trolling me here?

If you use both signet of inspiration and centaur runes, you’re going to end up with permanent swiftness while barely having to think about it.

Runes of the centaur alone are sufficient to achieve it, but, I ended up using both during the recent event just so that I didn’t have to constantly reapply the effect right as it ended.

Well I added a bunch to my gear and did not notice much of a difference but they are lower leveled ones.

Hate towards Thief?

Rather than retype my thoughts on this topic I’ll just re-post my take from a similar thread:

It’s my fav but the mechanic or class-type is hated on in every MMO. Sins in GW1, Stalkers in CoH and Wildstar, Rogues in WoW and AoC, Witch Hunter in WAR, etc, etc, ad nauseum.

I get it as they are often horribly designed and even more horribly implemented. Most game devs seem to focus on Warrior/Monk/Ranger and Mage classes first and foremost and everything else is the kittened cousin nobody wants to deal with hence the stealthy glass cannon class is normally broken at release and never truly fixed or completed.

Usually they just get nerfed to the point of death even though fans of the class like me will play them…self-gimping or not.

At the end of the day nobody likes to be ganked. It doesn’t matter if the ganker can be killed in one hit if the victim has any semblance of skill or awareness. The majority just hate the fact that if played well, outside bad or broken design, another player can “bamf” kill them “bamf” gone.

There is also the issue that most devs seem to design them from the ground up as a PvP specific class which tends to make them inferior in PvE which just adds more hate from the general community as while everyone else is able to finish the game spamming an auto attack the “Thief/Rogue/Glass Cannon/Whatever” class drops dead as soon as a mob farts on them. As for gated content that requires grouping…yeah…welcome to being last on the list to get an invite to that party.

This is now deeply ingrained into MMO dogma and the overall psyche of the genres player-base.

Personally I just love the play style but yeah…I get why they are hated on.

You know its funny I never once got upset for getting ganked by rogue types in any mmorpg and I do not play them, I only took interest in thief in this game because they actually look fun to play. I do not understand how people can hate a class when these mechanics have almost always existed in fantasy rpgs, maybe if people would learn to work together they would not get ganked instead of complaining here and getting them nerfed.

New Thief player, not sure what my role is.

Wow I do not think I have ever seen threads like this with complaints and no defense where everyone agrees there must be something really wrong with thief why are they left so far behind I wonder? Maybe they where over popular in the past?

I really love all these people that come and say:

‘The elite spec for this class changes it up. It’s not the usual faceroll d/d cele ele or staff ele’

No kitten, really? That’s a shock. I’m pretty sure they stated at the start of the elite specs that they’re meant to open up new options and roles for classes. That is exactly what they’re doing. Tempest is a different feel .

So after the expac all there builds will be on even ground? Viable?

For specialize rolls yes. Tempest will be the end all be all support roll between ele and tempest (druid may turn out to be a better healer we do not know for sure though).
This sounds like the way it should be by the name it self “elite specialization” becuse they specialize in a set roll that the base class may cover to a point but not all in as these spec do.

Then why are people complaining? Now all 3 specs will be viable unless they just want to use lightning for dps which I can understand that.

Crafting useful at all?

Practically any of the crafting professions are gold sinks. Yes, you can make money through the TP or save money by crafting items yourself (vs buying them outright), but that has the potential to change radically at any moment.

Specifically to a Mesmer or Ele: tailoring would be useful to both classes since they are both Scholars and use the same armor categories. Weaponsmithing and Artificing are both useful for crafting their primary weapons though you’ll need a few weapons from Huntsman as well for a Mesmer. Artificing can also be use for crafting slaying potions.

Jewellery crafting is universally useful for any class as everyone make use of trinkets. Currently, the craft is limited to exotic quality items but will advance to Ascended after the expansion.

The only ones I can see not being immediately useful for you are Leatherworking and Armorsmithing as neither of your toons can make use of the majority of the items that are crafted from that discipline.

Otherwise there are a bunch of one-off type items that require a random crafting discipline.

Again, we have no idea what you’re after so it’s going to be pretty difficult to point you in a direction. If you’re ultimate goal is making of the post though, you won’t find many people willing to part their money making secrets as those flipping techniques/secrets are what’s making them money.

Thank you this is all the info I needed yet it was so hard for everyone else to look beyond there own ego and suggest something.
