Hi there,
because of the “overwhelming” lack of information of higher level fractals (50+) anywhere on the interwebz i’m plainly curious where the elite in the world is progressing atm? Are there groups on 100+? or is it deemed impossible?
Disturbs me there arent any video`s on youtube or people boasting on high fractals lvls anywhere, so here’s my post :P

I duno, but isnt guardian (tank), 3 ele`s 1 mesmer (or 4 mesmers for that sake) a lot quicker then 4 war/mesmer? Since dps warriors will die before they down the boss, and thuss boss moves around (loose dps) or warrior goes downed (loose dps) instead of the guardian facetanking it?

Ive pugged my way to fractal 10 and ive never gotten in a group that used exploits of any kind.

If the game revolves about guardians, warriors, thiefs, elementals and rangers “facerolling” (5 class’ out of eight) then this seems to be the standard. Strictly pve speaking. Aforementioned are also the most popular by design and damage output so it seems necromancers amongst engineers and mesmers are underpowered. They are not simply standard while the other 5 classes are overpowered. No the other 5 classes are standard and necromancers are underpowered.
Not hard to wrap your head around it.

left my necro for my guardian. Guardian is balanced, has awesome builds, is useful in and out of a group. Got tired of being last at everything. anet has no idea.
Im enjoying my guardian aswell, i feel more powerful and balanced at lvl50-60 in dungeons then on my full decked exotic lvl80 necro.

The notes for guardians makes me want to continue on my alt..

Something I found comical though:
Warrior

Did I miss somewhere in the notes where they mentioned the rendering was fixed now?
That indeed is comical, not only is warrior the most played profession it is also considered one of the three most powerful professions in all fields.
And i moved to this game cause i was fed up on Blizzard entertainments vision on balance issues… fun.

I would like to know where you found this list of patch notes as all i can find when googling is the content of the special weekend. Nothing about balance tweaks anywhere.

Even if minions had OoC-healing, health and damage increased by 50% baseline and 90% incoming aoe damage reduce. MM’s would still be subpar lol.

Ofcourse it needs a damage boost, it does what? 600 damage on a terrible slow flying object that takes 3 seconds to hit from max range. This is 200 dps…
This is with full exotic power/prec/crit gear.

Solo`d a couple of champions and story mode bosses as MM so far but i cant remember which ones anymore. However lately ive solo`d the ooze champion in metrica province as wells necro, not hard.
Doesnt mean we dont need fixes/buffs, because yes i could have probably done it a lot faster/better on another prof.

This is new to people? I leveled up 1-80 pure minionmancer and had no issues what so ever. Melee isn’t necessary though, just melee range. Simply running up with your staff is enough to tank. Area Weakness (Chillblains+Putrid Mark)/Well of Blood/Transfusion trait/Mark of Blood. Minions will survive most stuff. Transfusion is the best minion heal. Use Life Transfer often.
Minions are still stupid, but their stupidity is manageable. I’m however not sure if this is viable in dungeons and such, as I’ve never tried it… It’s definitely not viable in PvP. Don’t even try.
Yea that’s the problem. I lvled to 80 aswell with minions because they are tanky enough. Take one step into a dungeon or any pvp mode and they are useless.
OP did not explain what happens in aforementioned places. Which is really the only thing you will play once you`ve hit 80

On staff #1 and daggers…
“Necrotic grasp damage have been reduced by 50%, we deemed 500 damage hits on a 3 second delay projectile while being full exotic was overpowered.” – This apply`s mainly to power builds.
“Also the range on all dagger skills have been reduced by 120. Necromancers must be exactly inside the hitbox of the enemy to have a chance at hitting them now.” – We thought the requirements to be in melee range was unbalanced in favor of the necromancer.

You are right in that higher risk is higher damage but I’m not even sure why we are able to use daggers, is it really in the spirit of a dark spellcaster to play a thief? I think not.
If we must play with daggers its vastly superior LF gen could be the reason to use daggers over staff because of more DS uptime then you have with staves. Maybe add another utility but in terms of damage staff should be superior.
But i do agree on that new weapons are a silly request :P

Actually the UTTERLY slow staff #1 isnt all that bad. Its a staff, its not suppoost to be a fast hitting weapon.
What needs to be done is to up the damage of #1 by a dramatic rate. With that i would like to see the piercing factor removed. This wil offset the aoe mechanic and pose more balance in terms of damage.

Hm. I do enjoy my Necro, both in PvE and PvP, so I have no intention to quit. Regardless, if I was quitting Necro, some of the following would make me reconsider:
*Revamp of Death Magic trait line
*Siphoning adjusted to allow for some form of scaling
*Minion AI healed and minions buffed in some sense
*Rework of the signets (and Plague Signet being fixed)
*Life Siphon not being a channeling skill
*Traits fixed
*A Power + Condition Damage + Toughness Amulet
*Axe rework/buff
*Added a new weapon to Necro mainhand/offhand
*A Well buff (not that they necessarily need it. They’re good, but fairly dull)
*New downed state (Why are we so “weak” when we’re closest to death? We’re Necros, we should have an awesome downed state XD )Those are to name a few. Have a nice day everyone!
I agree to most of your opinions but i dont think a new downed state would solve anything. Also a new weaponchoice wouldnt fix much. I find it ridiculous as is that mesmers can run around in light armor and a huge sword.
What i also would like to see is staff damage upped to the point of surpassing dagger damage. Why for the love of god would a dark spellcaster do the most damage with daggers? It makes no sense. We arent thiefs! Necromancers are dark spellcasters, dark wizards so to speak. They use a staff. Then why does my autoattack hit for 600 with 2500attack power? In my perfect world staff #1 would hit as much as full life force DS #1 and DS buffed by 20% overal. To balance it out remove the piercing factor of staff #1.
In exchange the damage of marks could be nerfed a little bit since their all aoe and dagger range must be upped. I see staves as an avatar for slow but heavy hits and daggers for fast but lower hits.
It would result in a massive buff, but lets be real – we need it. We are no holy tanks or damage soakers or supportive priests. We are dark spellcasters, we deal DPS.

Story modes yes, all-in MM builds will work there but expl mode not really. I know this is not the WoW forums but -90% damage on aoe could be very helpful for MM builds. It would not make them overpowered or anything, they would simply last longer. Coupled together with lasting longer there has to be a system to make minion regen health. Be it in combat or out combat, to start a bossfight with an army of minion that have all 20% hp is not desireable gameplay.
I gotta say that Or make every minion as powerful as flesh golem as this minion seems the only one that can actually contribute some in dungeons.
I rolled necromancer because of the minions but went power build for above reasons.

I was thinking just buying gear with power, prec and crit dmg and nuke away in pve/dungeons while all my minions are pumping out damage aswell.

Maybe we’ll get some class fixes too! It’s been two weeks since the last patch fix, almost four since our last necro fix patch. I bet there’s something coming soon for us.
Yes, i was looking for balance tweaks on minion master spec. Not sure if i should wait until it gets viable or just buy power,crit, crit dmg gear atm and go with the train..
