so what now comes is mine experience of 2500 hours of ele and 700 of mesmer..

mesmer:
well as mesmer in a zerg you are the veil bot, if you dont have veil dont you dare run in a zerg ! …no but serious if you want to support your zerg and be usefull you have veil and nullfield with you , and portal if the commander want it, it is fun tu play but let me tell you one thing , you will not get as many bags as an ele , because you obviously dont have so much aoe as an ele, but its still fun to play if you dont care about that

for roaming i use classic shatter build , its very fun and i seldom lose a 1vs1 BUT becase as a mesmer you dont have much mobility if you get caught in a 1vs2 or 1vs3 its very hard to get away….except you want to play the troll cond PU build with being most of the time in stealth , with that you can of course also easily get away from a 1vs3…using one stealth skil after another can save you 90% of the time…but i hate condition builds so i rather die fighting then using PU build…

ele:
ele is my main since beta , 2500 hours of total 4200hours gameplay time i have on him , for zerg of course you play with staff , you are the waterfield bit**, if commander calls for water field , then god kitten give it to him ! and of course with your cc you can sometimes break whole (public)zergs into two, so your zerg can crush the ppl that got stunned by static and so on, depending what gear you use you can deal ALOT of dmg , and positioning yourself is the most important thing for an ele that keeps you alive, always know where your zerg ist , where the enemy zerg ist and where you have to stand and as mentioned before , you get alot of baggies after a zerg fight cause almost all your attacks are aoe so you tag allot of ppl that give you baggies

ele for roaming is upper midel class i wound say , you either run s/d or d/d imo, your panic button is FGS, fgs+armor of earth can get you out of almost every fight but of course fgs has huge CD so after you use it once it will be hard to get away with just RTL+LF+BS(if d/d) since often you will have one or more on CD from the fight when suddenly someone jumps on you and you want to get away
i also like it to roam with ele but tbh i win much more 1vs1 with mesmer, BUT i also die more often with mesmer because i cant get away from a 1vs3 fight

so decide for yourself whats more important, if you most of the time run in zerg i wound get the ele which is great in zerg fights and above avarage in roaming, if roaming is more important and you dont care what build you use , take mesmer PU and troll whole groups of ppl and maybe even kill some noobs while still getting away..

ps: if you take pve into account …every group wants an ele with fgs and icebow

well of course it will take some months to fix it and you know why ? because only EU has that problem….US are all talking in english CHINA are all talking in chinese ( i guess)…i think they maybe didn´t even think that such a problem , with different languages in same map chat woud happen because in their mindset it was allways for the US where such a problem wound not happen

ps: i was once a helpfull person, now i never answer in mapchat because i have a german client and everytime i answer on english i get ignored and thats annoying

sounds nice i guess but now after almost 2 years of wvw i would like a carrot to play again more then 1-2 hours of wvw….you know, a reward for winning these endless zerg fights, dont get me wrong , its nice everytime we win a fight a collect all the bags but…it´s still always the same , kind of bored of it..

You guys keep talking as if FoW , DoA and UW were hard contet…i´m am preatty sure that almost everyone farmed them like kitten , there was nothig hard about it , it was a daily farm , nothig more …..but one one thing i agree , the reards were bettter , at least for me , got so many armbraces that i gave them to some guildis to get the anguish weapons for the HoM achivment

In gw1 i was pure PvE player, thw WHOLE time i farmed fow , uw , doa only for gold , to buy more ectos , get better skins , get all the titels that were abel to be bought etc… i have done only PVP in the last 3 months of my gw1 time , at that only for th HoM achivment.

and now in gw2, i would say i spend half my time in PVP / WvW….and why ? because there are no titels that are hard to get in PVE , because i´m bored after the third legendary…and even if we would have FoW, UW and DoA here, i would farm them just like AC and other dungeons for gold…

so my advice to you is , start pvp/wvw and stop waiting for things that would nto change anything, doesnt matter if the new dungeon is UW or whatever, it will be farmed like it was in GW1 and anyother dungeon in gw2

you can use them to buy siege and then turn the siege into superior siege and sell it , try selling some superior arrowcart or superior rams

I made a thread recently, outlining how i envisioned a VIP subscription (which i am in full support of), which filled up quickly with close minded haters threatening to quit the game if such an option is added to it. There were even some in that thread foolish enough to call a VIP service “pay to win”. Apparently they forgot that right now, the only way to efficiently get gold in the game is by directly buying it, which is the most direct form of “pay to win” in existance

you must play some other game , because i have a very nice gold influx from dungeons/wvw/tpvp and tilll 1. july gold pav farm…or you are a cuasual playing 1 hour a day and tries to measure yourself with hardocre players who play 10 hours a day , which would be stupid of you

and would be very disapointed if gw2 would get subs mode , gw1 was fine without it , gw2 is fine without it , i also guess that everyone that suggest such things never played gw1 and comes from other mmos with sub fees, so pls…go back to them and pay there you monthly sub, the best thing of guild wars was always that it is sub free , the name alone stands for sub free playing , its the image it made since day one of gw1

its based on many guilds i was on , on wvw raids , on dungeon runs and i dont belive your 60/40 for gw1 because i made the same experience in gw1, show me some official statement if it exist
and i make assumption how i want about my experiance and YOU cant do anything about it

every rune you can obatin from karma vendors would be useless in TP because everyone got enough karma to buy every rune for every set for every charakter, there would be no need at all to buy the runs from TP if you can buy them with karma

that said…i dont gambel with runes so i would happily agree to anet if they would do it..

from my experience the player base of gw2 is 80% dudes and 20% women and IF i would have to make new armor sets i would make 4 sets more appealing for men and 1 set more appealing for women
you should not make 80% of you playerbase mad just to satisfy a minority (and by mad i mean , guys complaining that anet making boring armor sets and wasting time just for the minority)

You’re 100% wrong. The marionette battle literally forced the zerg to split or fail the event VERY quickly, same with the Watch Knights pretty much. The Pavilion doesn’t do that. Also the Pavilion would be fun if people would stop zerging and turning the boss battles into 10 minute bore fests.

thats the problem here , the zerg dont split because it knows it willl get bronze reward no matter what , IF it would fail , then more people maybe would listen to mapchat , maybe..

well as i had killed liandri last year it was easy thies year, but unlike last year this year i also done the light up the darkness achiv , and the funny thing is , after about 30 tries on my bersek mesmer i almost gave up again and logged on my bersek ele (fresh air pvp build) just for fun to give it a try ….and it worked on the first try lol…that was a nice suprise

these " ts is useless" ppl should try making a guild and fight vs a guild that is using TS, a nice GVG of 25 vs 25 or so… would like to see the video of that …

once i was scout on EB while a huge zerg of 70+ vizunah were golem rushing our garison, i quickly told our zerg that was on another map, while the zerg run to our maingate i did my best tagging as many people as i could with my superior ac….i never ever got so many lootbags again after the 70+ vizu zerg was killed, since that day , the first thing i do when we defend something , i run into the tower/gariosn and search for an AC..

Making things account bound gave players way less to do like account wide achievements and other shared between characters changes. It might have not been a very good idea for developers to give players way less to do even if players like it.

i started working on ascendet armor and my third legendary (twilight) just because now all my light/heavy charakctes can share their armor/weapons and skins , the only reason i didnt start working on twlilight before was because i could not decide if my mesmer or my warior or my guardian would get it , now all of them can have it , thank you anet

oh and that apply to ascendet armor too , didnt have one before , no i will make one bersek set for light and heavy armor , cause acc bound ,yay

from what i can remember i had about 3k hours on gw1 in over 5years playtime , i often didn play weeks/months because i played other mmos (aion,ragnarok etc) and after i got my titel of “gods walking among mere mortals” i stoped playing at all, till they introduced hom , with that i played a bit more to get 50/50 and was done preaty quickly and after that i quit gw1 for good

in gw2 i have now 4k hours of playtime since launch , i dont get bored of that game , i have times where i enjoy wvw very much and play only wvw then i get bored of it and start playing pve again and then sometimes i want a champion titel for a class and i play manly tpvp, so i always have something different to do and now i am working on my 3rd legendary and on my champion maga titel, always busy

ps: the only game that could get me away from gw2 is propably blade & soul, but who knows when that launch in EU /US..

i have to disagree here , maybe its not meta but the influc of condition roamers is huge compared to pre patch..

today i roamed with my gs /hammer power war about 3hours and the most common encounters were:

cond engis
cond thiefs
cond mesmers
power thiefs
??? eles (celestial i gues?)
cond warriors (shame on you guys)
power warriors
cond nekros ( i guess they got lost from the zerg..)

the first two cond engi/thief are by far the most , and i would say that especialy the thiefs are increasing in numbers who play condi interupt confusion kitten …
i dont care i got my melandru runes + -40% cond buffod +berseker stance + cond removing trait with f1 <3 , but i see often in map chat the flame about “another cond eng/thief at xxx”

ps: i play gold league , dont know how its on low tier servers

The option works off the language version you are using. It doesn’t care what language you type, only your client.

My best friend is from Quebec, uses a french client but does all communications in english, NA server. She was blocked by people who used “english only” checkoff.. and by default her chat was set to French Only as well.

so with the new option you can chose that the chat shows only the language you are using, my question is , if for example i write in english , but my client /text/audio is on german, will my messages show up in the chat for the english speaking people ?

how does the chat decide what to show and what not ? based on the message itself, does it read and identifcate what language it is? or based on the language set from the client ?

all i know is that if i toggle the option off i can see everything , english , german , french etc, but i am not sure if the english speaking people that has the optiopn toggeld “show only english” see my message or not

Just a note to those who are using it for armor/weapons:

You can’t salvage badges gear. So if you put an upgrade like a sigil or rune, you cannot recover it without buying a (very expensive) Upgrade Extractor from the gemstore.

i always recomend to get this armors/weapons first when you hit lvl 80, but never put any good sigil/rune into it , nothing thats more worth than 1g, and with that trash eq , you can farm your real end game eq (what stats , skin you realy want) and also put the good runes into the eq you are gonna farm

btw i know many ppl that didnt know they cant salvage that eq bought with BoH and i realy think anet should change that, some option like , “do you want to destroy that eq to get the rune/sigil out of it”…you know what i mean ? that would be the best , no one can slavage them for ectos or soll them , just destroy that trash to get the runes/sigils out of it

I’m leveling a new character, and when I get a drop that is better than my current item, I have no way with the new equipment system to keep my old item’s runes or sigils. With the previous transmutation stone, I can pick either look, the new item’s stats, and the old item’s rune or sigil. Now I cannot do that. And I’m not spending a BL Salvage Kit on a <70 level item. So what are we supposed to do to keep our existing sigils and runes?

tbh here i think with low lvl chars it doesnt even matter what sigil and runes you use , i never cared about that while leveling because i got almost every day new armors , even if i would use trans stones , i gues i would rune out of them before i would reach lvl 50 lol, because you change so much your armor and weapons while lvling..

but what i realy think is a problem are the equipment bought with badges of honor , you cant get the runes out of it anymore , and that is realy bullkitten, anet pls do something about that..

My playtime i enjoy mostly in wvw and dungeons , now even a bit more in spvp with the new rewards system and i still have a ranger to lvl up , so yeah more then enough to do….oh yeah and by the way saving for legendary nr.3 (so much money inc with just doing what i like , ty anet)

so before patch i could use trans stonse to get the sigil from the dagger and put it onto another, but know how i am supose to do that ?

I recently decided to bite the bullet and throw in 1000 self-made rares. Total cost of just over 400g to do so. So far 34 exotics have come from 500 rares, so that’s maybe 1 every 15 throws. All I need is for one of those exotics to be my precursor.

you should have sold all rares and just save your money , 400g is almost one precusor for one handed weapons and it´s half the money you need for the two handed weapons, i have 2 legendarys, both pres bougth from tp

only masochistic ppl try to get a pre through mystic forge, or ppl with 2000g and they dont realy need it they just want to see how lucky the are…

well first of all i realy like the design of the hom , you can see that time has passed since gw1

and second….my fish which will never come true because the not gw1 players will flame anet to death…..make the hom like the airship with npcs for bank, vendor and so on, then i wound never enter LA/gandara fields again , lol

bersek gear will still do the most dmg, 10% less dmg won´t drive me and many others away from being full bersek

well as a gw1 veteran i have to say…so what ? …no wait…as a MMO veteran i have to say….so what ???

in most MMOS i have played there were only events a few times per year, chirstmas,eastern and so on, so i have no trouble playing some months a game i like without any special events /extension packs to it…

oh and of course i will play some offline games on my ps4, but most games are finished within 20-30 hours of gameplay

ps: i got over 15k achiv poitns , serval legendary , r40 champ ilu and passionate wvw player(r5xx, not that i matters)…and yeah i dont plan to leave gw2 in the next servel years if it stays the way it is

the moment they removed the GW1 LA fountain is the moment they removed the last part of GW1, GW2 is now officially unrelated to GW1.

So… the Norn, Asura, Humans, Charr, every single location in the game, even some of the enemies, that are the exact same as they were in GW1, dont relate the two games?

People forget that there’s been something like 2-3 centuries that pass between the timepoints the games take place in. The GW2 LA was already nearly unrelated to the GW1 LA when it was drowned by the raising of Orr.

Also, HoM. Just sayin.

firstly, EotN was added in response of GW2, no GW2 and you would’ve never seen the 3 other races.
also, what places?
there is not even a hint of ascalon, droknar, hedge of denravi, temple of the ages (and no, the swamp isn’t ToA, the statues are not even the same and they are not on the same location) so unless you have even a shred of evidence they are still there, i take it with a grain of salt.

oh and the 250 years is a poor excuse, there are buildings of about 5000 years ago that still stand today IRL yet in GW2 nothing is left, a game only 250 years later.

Now if you were expecting many of those buildings to be perfectly in tact after the rising of Orr, when some huge tidal waves would have summarily destroyed Droknar’s Forge and The Granite Citadel, or if you were expecting the Henge of Denravi to be in tact (when it was already falling into disrepair in the first game) when it was nothing more than a hiding place for the Shining Blade, then yeah you’ve got some unrealistic expectations.

And yes, Godlost Swamp is Temple of the Age’s ruins.

There’s plenty of things tying the first game to this one, but if all you clung to were some underwater statues in the middle of a city then you obviously didn’t care very much to begin with.

hey everyone , i´m net a pro with crafting and so one , so i came here to ask you , what should i do with all that dragonit ore ? i have already bifrost as weapon so i dont need any weapon crafting , i got full ascend armor too, i cant think of anything to do with the dragonit ore except throwing it away, my bank is getting full and i think about throwing from now on all ore i get away..

any pro tips how i cant at least make some silver from that ore or is it really useless if i dont need to craft anymore`?

one more screen to show to the ppl that says its only for 1% of ppl to do it and so on…

a few (2-3) hours after the hotfix i did it on desolation, guested it in the midel of the night , 3 a.m. (or p.m ? whatever..) and didnt get into overflow , thank god, and we did it on the first try

ps: the reason i did it on deso is ofcourse because my home server elona dont have any ppl at 3 in the night and the germans are immun to cirit and coordination (at least thats what i saw the few times i tried it on homeserver), i dont even know if they ever did it in 6 min , even before the hotfix..

pss: anet pls stop adding events where i have to deal with upscaled/ PVT/ no buffood noobs, thx

well we also almost did it yesterday without any tactic , just zoneblob the kitten out of the knights….i´m sure an organized big guild that could make their own overflow would be do this easy, i mean , not all players were lvl 80, had buffod, or stayed in the circles for more dmg and some were to stupid to dodge the pull and died..

I personally think titles were one of the worst things to happen to Guild Wars 1, and they’ve gotten worse in Guild Wars 2.

They promote repeating content you’ve already played over and over and are a cheap device to extend the amount of time you spend playing the game.

titels were the only thing that was to be done in gw1, what are you gonna do after you finished the story , and done each dungeon one time ?

you had 3 options on gw1:

opt 1 : titel grind , do all titels and get the “god walking among mere mortals”
opt 2 : skin grind , do a dungeon a thousand times , and hope you get that weapon you want so badly

i remember doing that one dungeon where the bonedragon staff dropt hunderts of time , and never got it…without the drive of skin grind, i would ahve never done it

opt 3: pvp , you didnt care about pve and you were only doing pvp, i think the first person to get r15 took about 3 years ? or longer ? i dont remember, its funny when you see here in gw2 ppl crying about titels that they dont get in half a year

soooo…you know what i did ? i have done them all in a period of 3 years of gameplay, i got the gwamm titel , got r10 in pvp (kittening love the emotes), got all shiny armors and weapons i wanted (except the kittening staff)

so without that titels (pve and pvp) i would propably stoped playing gw1 after the story because ther is simply nothing to achive

ps: getting better gear/titels/skins is the core of every mmo, you need to get the players busy for more then some weeks

pss: i have to laugh every time when someone says gw1 was not grindy , they must be some causuals that used gw1 as a chat program and thinking that grind exists only in lvl grind and getting better gear grind..

i guess i was lucky to have done all events on overflow, even if i enter LA right after the event on bloodtide i get on overflow, lol

i got them and they just added to my 5x i had in inventar from the vent , so i think they are the same, and when i opened them all after the event i didnt get anything special , just the same stuff as from other bags

well i guess i should save maybe some shards, but the belongings are realy useless to me , i mean , i have over 4m karma, so i can buy obsi shards with karma and the level tomes i wound buy from spvp because they cost only 20s in spvp and 30s from the pve vendor, so yeah i guess i can only buy the old craft mats and sell them then, even if the profi is preaty low..

So i have over 400 shards and about 300 belongings, i have bought the recipt for the backpiece, but i wont craft it because i think it´s ugly as kitten…

so what should i do with all that shards and belongings ? throw them away , are they realy totaly useless if i dont want to craft the backpiece ? and to exchange the belongings for old crafting materials isn´t realy paying off too..

what are you guys doing with them ?

in your video you have around 16k hp with buff , without it would be 14k hp..thats not much , i gues your using a mix of berseker/chevalier/knights ? and for traits…30 fire 10 air 30 arcane ? just guessing

i would still never play without traits in water, its to comfortable and you have more hp

maybe the issue that i never see any ele in tpvp teams ? and in solo queue they even ask the elementalist to reroll mes/war/guard/somthing else except ele ?
i have over 1800hours on my ele and he´s doing okay in pve and wvw, but tpvp…he´s plain useless, if i want to play tpvp i have to reroll mesmer or war and thats sad

If Jade is 2nd this match and wins next (Because RS and ELona will fight for german ranking and not for international rank again) they end with 27 pts.
If SFR wins this and Vizu-Pikens manage to push you back to 3rd next week, SFR will have only 27pts as well…

i think it´s funny if you think about it, before the league they were not even in the top 5 and now they could end up at second place with sfr, who would have thought that sfr will have to share their place with js, thats a huge improvement for js , congrats to that
