everyone should fear becoming mentally clouded and obsessed with one small section of truth.

The signet change is not just for gc as they could have use them anyway. While some rangers many not have been around when BM build were at there strongest there is a benefit to running a non meta build.
A strong offence can be a good defense. Each weapon has some kind of defense.
Control is a rangers second best friend. While the rapid fire buff is great by itself its nothing. Control your target fear it, kd it then unleash and then control him some more.
Timing is everything. Attention to detail is key. Be aware that your build won’t have an equal chance against everyone. Even If you face another player with your build you still may get destroyed. Some people are just better than you but that doesn’t mean you can’t get better.
All classes have problems they all have bugs they all need fixes some more than others, but If your still struggling the problem is you. Your play style may not be compatible with your build. Take a look at yourself and figure out your weaknesses. Develop and build you cover them and don’t listen to xxxxxxxx on the forum when they say this is a garbage build or trait. If its working for you the use it, if its not they try something else that fits your style.

Just as a Ranger can start a fight with pbs most classes can start the engagement with a blocks and or stability. If the knock back is the problem it would make sense to use stability. Gw2 isn’t only about being reactive its about being pro-active.
I’m curious when a warrior is traited to relect projectile on block is there a special animation or icon to let people know its going to reflect.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Your pet is a weapon if you don’t trait for it wont be good. Every class has trait that affect it class mechanism your not required to trait into it but don’t complain when it sucks.
Other classes trait into weapons since the traits are found in viable trait lines. Traiting into beast mastery is a significant dps loss and doesn’t prevent my pet from getting killed.
traiting for defence is always a dps lose. A dead pet is a 30% damage lose pick your poison.
Your pet is a weapon if you don’t trait for it wont be good. Every class has trait that affect it class mechanism your not required to trait into it but don’t complain when it sucks.
The fact that just about every weapon in the game has additional range including melee makes this a non topic.
Every class has a ranged option and every class has some kind of reflect save one.
The additional range doesn’t need to be fix but should it be fix across the board. People having trouble with thing now will still have trouble.
While they are at it I guess they should fix the additional distance player get when they use a gap closer and swiftness at the same time. Since it’s not listed in the tool tips as well. Never mind that its pretty universal.
Pet have a hard time as it is keeping up with moving targets if they dodge when I do then they will never hit their target.
One pet death isn’t the end of the world. Don’t automatically switch pet because one died. If your just evading keep it dead and swap when you are resuming your attack.
Anything over the tooltips value has to be manually fired. There is no range finder when you fire off a skill manually beyond the intended range you may hit or you may waste the skill.
Stacking is so prevalent in the game it must be because range is so op. From pve to pvp staying close is essential for buffs and support.
This is really a learn to adapt situation. Rather then adapting some rather spend the time complaining about elements that have been in the game since launch.
There are so many ways to counter range damage its not even funny.
I guess some people need to learn to use their mobility for closing in rather than saving it to run away.
The best advice I can give those of you who are having trouble is: Be pro-active not re-active.

Your video is 7 months old & appeared to show skills that are very unreliable in terms of distance covered.
I stand by what was stated & have little confidence in a video that ….again…very clearly shows “Rapid Fire” landing on flat ground from a distance of "1970"+.
Rapid Fires stated range on the website is 1200 or 1500 if Eagle eye is specced.
LoL Apparently 1500 range is 2000….so what does that make 1800? On flat ground…not to mention any type of height advantage.
The constituency deserves better than round about ranges that are obviously not accurate.
There isn’t a 1800 range. 1500 hits at 1800+. The Range in the video is hard to tell. Pet range is 2000 so if hes hitting at 2100 range and sends his pet in his pet wont go because it will say pet to far from target.
Those of us who are members of the ranger core (main ranger) know well what the capabilities of our weapons. It really doesn’t matter what answer you get it seems you have been given the numbers and are in disbelief.
Test it for yourself and then you will know exactly what it is.
I will add this anything beyond 2000 in pointless as the game doesn’t put anyone in combat if the damage is beyond that. Pretty must instant regen.
I would also like to add that while a ranger is in a tower or keep he loses 30% of his damage as his pet can’t attack those outside so one or two arrows above the 1500 is a pretty fair trade.
Made they should remove the arc and automatically boost ranger damage when pets are unable to reach their target.

They are mad because a lot of them play mesmers and thieve and their stealth ability can cover weak skill level.
As rangers we have developed our basic skill evading dodging using terrain to our advantage. Players and class that haven’t developed these basic skill set a being obliterated.
They say rapid fire stealth tracking is op. They don’t consider that if you are not using an aoe or bounce range skill you will not hit a target in stealth. Single target range attack need a target unlike melee. Even if the ranger knew exactly where you are while your stealth he pretty much has no change of hitting you, unless he uses aoe or bounce skills.
I miss understood should of read the whole post. The change would be pretty useless. Guard is spammed because it help keep pets alive, the regen and the swiftness are added benefits. The other two skill have very specific roles and I doubt they would be used for the benefits provide by the trait as they have a bit length cd.
I think this trait is great. Don’t know about spvp it has limited stats combo’s. We don’t need a random boon.
We need things we can count on. Pigs have some great boon but because they are random many people don’t use them. I need to know exactly what im getting and not some random boon. That would be terrible for pvp. In pve any boon is a plus.
This trait can work in all game modes. Making a random buff would total ruin it for pvp. While skill don’t have to be pvp focused, we shouldn’t have them do thing that would just make them obsolete for pvp.

No I do not what a perma stow option. I have played my ranger since beta. I created the class knowing full well what it was. Buff or no buff either way I don’t want to be the situation of me having to justify why im using my pet rather than stowing it.
No class has the option of not using their class mechanic. If this does happen then I want the option of changing all my ascended to another class.
Really you can play without your pet just let it die.
for anyone here doubting ranger in terms of build, come 1v1 me in game Firstborn Strife, I use power build. no cheese builds like traps or spirits or regen condi builds PM me.
I think he meant he doesn’t use a cheese build not that you can’t use one. I could be wrong.
I believe Ranger are not bad. We do have some issues but they are easily over come.
We have a lot of tool at our disposal. One one has master this it only comes down to skill. Some other class like thives and mes have a get out of jail free card. This is a benefit when starting but once you have played awhile these become their weakness.
Being predictable is death
The ranger is viewed in a bad light, but to be honest it our fault. We know what we are capable of its our job to let the world know it. Why or How can a WvW Commander use a ranger to their utmost when we a a community don’t know our role. It time we carve one out.
Let just say they did remove the flanking requirement. the short bows attack speed is .54 seconds. So that would roughly be 19 stacks of bleed in 10 seconds. That doesn’t include any traits or sigil or utilities that also produce bleeding.
While there are melee weapon that can proc bleeds their limitations are their r range.
As stated before even with the flank requirement its not hard at all to produce s5 stacks of bleed in a few seconds.
I would like to see pet scaleable based on the rangers gear (rarity wise). for the life of me I don’t know why ranger complain about no pet aoe reduction. With Guard you get protection which is 33% damage reduction. If pet surviablity was so important to you would take it. It’s Like a Mesmer complaining about illiusions health and then they never use signet of illusions.
I mean do what you can and then if its still not enough complain. As it stand now if they did buff pets to aoe damage you still could use guard and get the protection on top of that, sound a bit broken to me.
They could do this and they could do that, but in the end your not using what you have. Builds are about choices.
There is nothing wrong with 5 people ressing faster than a normal stomp. Taking 5 of your manpower vs the one should be more effective. Quickness is an effective tool to increase your stomp speed.
Not stomping and letting someone bleed out slowly is also part of the game. While some believe that dps someone down is better, it takes 3 seconds to stomp. The average attack is about one second. I dout you will dps them in 3 attack unless your a thief or you have help.
Some say that down states should be balance. Well I think they are, too the classes as a whole not just the down state itself. I mean really unless you want to take out the inherent diffences in hp and toughness between the classes.
Deciding which target to kill first in a 2 v 1 situation, one should also consider their downstate. That is one of the things that people who don’t understand ds fail to grasp.
So I propose:
Crossfire does 1 second bleeds from the front and 2 second bleeds from the sides and back. The overall results should be roughly the same and the bleed would be much more reliable and not so RNG.
Lowering the base duration would have a major impact on builds. A 33% condition duration increase in your proposal would result in no addition seconds to bleed (from the short bow).
I don’t think the short bow aa need a buff. I am not a big fan of condition but when I do run condition I use a short bow. The flanking requirement is a minor thing. The attack speed of this weapon is almost twice that of any other weapon. With the right (bleeding from sigils and traits plus utilities)set up you can easily get 25 stack of bleed in seconds.
Yes from time to time you will face a warrior that you can barely scratch because he’s running stability so you k9 kd don’t work and neither does your fear. Poison is an option but it cleared almost right away. Not a short bow problem its his build is a counter to your. It doesn mean you have no chance just a very slim one and that’s the way it should be. Warrior have to give you very little to do everything. This speaks more of an inbalace with warriors than the short comings of the sb.
It’s not always about the math. Yes on paper melee looks more appealing. We know range has less damage. We also know that not all mob will stack. You can use line of sight to force them to stack, but in open world there is just as many caster as melee.
The time it take you to get into melee range in a farming situation will most likely result in a dead mob before you get a single hit in. I Guess that’s why so many people like partying with staff guardians.
Each player has a play style and certain style work better with certain weapons. Find what works best for you. Then find a mentor that has a similar play style, but don’t be afraid to try something new.
Signet have always affected pets. This may help the ranger himself, the pet not so much.
The axe can have better damage than the long bow in cetain situation. a full zerker Ranger will crit for about 4k with lb and max ranger. The same ranger can crit for 2k with axe main hand with over 50% crit change you should normal crit twice attacking say another ranger.
In most pve situations you will fight a lot of trash mob imo axe is better than any other range weapon in this situation. While farming events axe is better, the range and aoe make it hands down the best.
It comes down to knowing the strength of each weapon and knowing when to use them. If you only run x weapon your just hampering your ability to grow.
Power has higher damage in a general sense. Yes, conditions can out perform power vs mobs that are designed to withstand power attacks. Conditions by pass armor.
Vs light and medium toughness foe Power is better.
Even if it was possible to remove the condition cap, It shouldn’t be remove because of the very passive and unblock-able nature of many conditions.
If they were to remove the cap, I would be in favor of adding a limitation to it. That limitation would be you would have to say with in range of skill type of the skill that applied that condition or it would be removed. melee would get a range like 900. Ranged attack like 1800 and ground targeting kills like 1000.
Condition are already greatly abused. This would keep it more on par with power with out making it super OP.
If Combustive Shot had to at least hit something to proc Cleansing Ire, we could see a shift in warrior meta.
As it stands for now, the hardest foes for LB ranger to beat are both D/D faceroll Ele and Thief in general.
I had an idea to revmap Heal as One into more evasive/kiting healing skill. Let’s say 15-20 sec cd with decent heal and jump backwards similar to Engi’s Acid Bomb but with 800-900 range, maybe cripple removal. For next couple seconds after using this heal, your pet prevents all gapclosers and teleports into your area of, let’s say 300 with a stun.
to keep things more simple;
Heal as One
CD 18 seconds
Initial Self heal: 7500 + 1.00 x healing power
When struck, stun the enemy for 2 seconds and heal an additional 2000 + 0.25 x healing power.Simpler, stronger and more flexible (if that stun would work with Moment of Clarity to produce 4 sec stun if traited, even better)
That’s okay. But I’d be glad to get even a little bit less healing, but long leap backwards, to maintain decent kiting range.
I would suggest a condition cleanse in it, which is currently sorely lacking in longbow traited rangers.
You have to make choices. Not taking healing spring is a choice. If you go all in offensively, you really cant complain on the defensive front. Condi Ranger get the byproduct of getting toughness when going condi. Then they can stack regen and endurance on top of that.
Even if a power Ranger tried to emulate this set up it won’t work the same and require more skill to pull off due to the passive nature of condition damage (Hit once, twice, evade, evade, evade and attack again. Won’t work for a power Ranger.)
Power rangers need to kill quick they don’t need a lot of cleanse, if they cant kill you quick or put you on the defensive more cleans really wouldn’t have made that much of a difference.
Long bow attack range is already 1500 you dont need eagle eye ((1200 as intended) and another 300 but you have to actually press the first attack skill) Arrow don’t just stop traveling when they reach 1200.
Eagle eye is in no way mandatory in fact if you have ever used the max range in pve you know its possible to hit a mob but be so far away that it doesn’t aggro (so it still has out of combat regen).
The trait system is about making choices, but it not just the trait its the build system as a whole. You don’t have to max out your power line to get 2.2k power.
Traits are in different line because you have to make choices if all the trap traits where in ws then ever trapper would look exactly the same. What is your focus, damage or defense. Most of the traits in ws are about survival.
Traits really affect play style more than anything else. In that I mean you can hit you target number for condition or power other than maxing these line out, but the devil is in the details and that where the traits are factored in.
We are not warriors we cant do everything without give up something.
I was referring to Stooperdale comment about pvp ranger wanting to be skill full with the click rather than skillful with their movement.
I also didn’t say aa. People can claim that the aa on the sword leads to less skilled play when clearly this isn’t the case.
Look at it from the other side. Removing the root and the timed dodge would just make this weapon op. With all the sources of vigor plus the evade on this weapon and the possible evade of the off-hand weapon set. Even without specing into vigor we are able to get the amount of dodge other class can if they spec into it. This allow us to traits for other things or we can go full blast with the vigor. It isn’t just the weapon. This weapon is already use in condi builds mainly for the evades. It has one skill that would benefit from condition damage.
So my question is what are you willing to give-up. Why do you have to give something up because that is anet pattern.
So what will it be one of the evades or maybe alittle bit of damage. I have it, the evade and the posion on serpents strike ( your asking for two thing makes sense to lose two) instead of poison make it a bleed.
If you think they are just going to give you want you want with no side effects go back and look at every weapon fix or change. Look at what we got and what we lost.
For the people who like this weapon and use it, We love it. Most of u who hate it do not really use this weapon. A lot of you who hate this weapon hate a lot of other things about the class.
Most of the people who started thread about the aa on sword don’t even play ranger and more.
For the record I was one of the people who complained about it, now I see how great this weapon is.
Most people find it hard to hate something when they are good at it.
Every class has a weapon that moves a player in one way or another. I for one spend most of my time in PVE. Mob animation are way easier to evade then a players. Sword is the best weapon we have hands down.
There are some problem with the sword but the root and having to time your dodge aren’kitten The jump after you have killed your target due to sever lag. That such a minor issue that I chose to craft bolt as my first Legendary.
Your relying on it to do what it wasn’t intended to do, and then call it unreliable.
This weapon bring more evades to the table not less. It outputs more damage than any other choice. These are some of the reasons people like it. Maybe in time.
If that the case what is all the qq about. What do we need to circle strafe so we can call our selves skilled. You cant dodge in mid air, you can indeed move when your not in the air.
Adapt to the concept of evading with your weapon skills and not the dodge. One is still able use the normal dodge. By Mastering I mean just know which your able to do without thinking about it. Having a basic understanding of what needs to be done or being able to do it sometime even 75% of the time isn’t mastering it.
Yes , but keep in mind that most of the on crit effect have cd’s. So a Fire sigil won’t trigger 3 times if all 3 attacks crit, as it has a cd.
One of the issue with power build is that your normally lacking toughness. Condi bunker is easy since they are in the same line. For me you not really a bunker with out 2.7k toughness (I shoot for 3k). So I would do something like this. http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fNAQNAT3XnEqQvg2wCWsAXLGIRoYFAvvijdqdPD/QMPgH-TVCBABV8EAga/hIVCulSjuUm1nuBAuAAqq+DDHEAA-w
While I know it lacks a lot of condition clear healing spring should be enough as you can heal with you pets f2. While axe main isn’t great for single targets with multiple you and your pet should get more might. Consumable are empty so you can strength the area you feel its lacking the most.
This is more of a starting point rather than a finshed build somethings are to high some not high enough.
Sword has two built in evades use them. There is a slight delay but you have more then enough time to react so don’t wait till the last millisecond.
The ability to evade and still stick to the target is the weapons function. Do what rangers do best adapt, Then master this weapon.
Main hand axe is great for trash mobs in pve. It is better than the lb in some situations even on Bosses (boss with multiple hit boxes).
Couple with the fact if you using any build that has effect that trigger on crit each attack has up to 3 chances to crit. Great for things like Compain’s might. People always complain about the low damage on axe main hand, I do’t see it as I crit for about 2k give or take 100. Considering that my crit chance is 50% or above, its not on common to get two crits.
My main weapon set are a trade between s/a or a/a depending on the encounter.
Ranger already have the 3rd highest weapon combo couple with the fact that as a whole ranger are not lacking in single target range combat, what kind of ability would be needed that also fits the weapon type.
I really the staff ideal, yet I can see the benefits of having an aoe weapon set.
While rifle and pistols will bring new skills, will they really be helping the class.
Here is my biggest problem: Our two biggest strengths Evade and Long range single target dps can not be used together as our evades are on skirmish weapon sets.
A thief can stealth, evade and still use high single target dps.
Maybe if we had a stealth port on long bow rather than just stealth. It would allow us to play to our strength. (in not a fan of either stealthing or porting but it seem logical)
I also want to add that a Mesmer is just as effective long range and close in with the same build and weapon set. Not true for the ranger.
There seem to be major flaws with this balance philosophy.
Both power and condi have their place. Both spec require you to be active just in different ways.
With power your in a more active offense mode (short bow bleeder build can be as active).
While with conditions your in a more active defensive mode. Our condition have a relative long cd.
While Ranger isn’t designed to spike it can deal 8 to 15k damage with a power set up. not including pet damage. While conditions can kind of spike in general it requires build up. 25 stack of bleed can really wreck someone’s day but, 2 to 3k tick is about the same as a powered buld average output.
The 2/3 damage loss from pet death or poor management isn’t in relation to other Rangers its in relation to other classes. An 8k attack by a ranger would have been a 12k attack by another class.
Power = Kill it before it kills you. Condition = Your dead and you don’t even know it yet. (tick tick boom).
Rangers do not need more stability. Giving Ranger more stability would send the wrong message to new Rangers. For most of what you need stability for you can dodge or evade. We are not suppose to face tank that is what warrior and guardians do. We stay mobile and avoid important skills or combos.
We are missing something but more stability is not it..
Any class using a bow can be called an archer. I don’t believe the unparalled archer statement is not void. While it is true that melee damage is superior to range that doesn’t make range damage useless. There are many situation that melee isn’t possible or practical.
As important as the weapon used is the build. If you not getting the damage you need maybe rethink how your build works in its entirety (including pets and sigils).
We don’t need more account bound items. Even if they were account bound that would probably mean most player would never have a chance at one.
With the Profiteers you at lease have an avenue of acquiring one even if it is 3 or 6 months from now.
If you want the item so bad grind it out 2k to 4k guanlet bags should get you what you want. While that may sound like a lot players are able to kill targets with 5 gambits in 13 seconds. You have a little less than a month.
Anet should not regulate prices. The smart people have figured out that people will pay a lot. You have option just as the super rich players have either put in the time to get all that gold either with game time or real world cash you have that option.
If you don’t want to put in the time you really cant complain you don’t have nice thing.
The CoL imho is the best backpiece in the game better than both the other 3 gods backpieces. To me it seem that warriors and guardians and necromancers are getting the shaft as their deities back piece looks like trash compared to CoL
The Balthazar on is easy to get but I guess it’s fitting as warrior are easy mode anyway
Looks good. I think F1 is fine. Attack my target and attack are not the same thing. Pets already have trouble attacking moving targets. There is no need to add to this problem by having your pet start running back to you when you simply want to change targets.
I do think guard should be apart of the pet commands and still be a shout not to sure about any of the other shouts.
This is the 3rd incarnation of the skill it once allowed your pet to scale walls as well. In eotm you can use guard on you pet and point it to one of the bridges or platform and fear upto 5 people off of it.
Even with the delay (delay it probably for targeting) you can use it for pet positioning and stability as it also give protection. You can use it to keep your pet out of your way during jump puzzles.
I think it would be too op with all the vulnerability we can have and the additional crit damage we can have its too much. Condition damage by passes armor but the damage is regulated Power damage isn’t and can easily scale to high.
Ai may not be as responsive as player would like, but they are extremely predictable.
A Teleporting pet will reduce its effectiveness. In that one it would create more summoning sickness on pets (the seconds after swapping pets that the pet doesn’t do anything (using f2 skill during this time will result in skill on cd with no effect)).
This will also affect calling your wolf to you so that when you fear your enemy he is as close to the enemy as possible and are fearing him in the right direction (pet will normally try to attack from behind so if you use fear your enemy will be fear toward you rather than away.)
So in short a teleport will create less pet responsiveness and affect key pet positioning tactics.
A far as pet stability companion’s defense is in a lot of none zerker build it is usualy enough to keep your pet alive until you can swap to a new one.
Pets are a weakness and a strength its the Rangers responsibility to make the latter more prominent. Example in the Liadria fight while will one pet will die in phase one you still can have a living pet in phase two. Your pet can also body block a shadow when you are down it will kill your pet but you will get a free rally. Not dying is better than the damage you lose.
(edited by Serraphin Storm.2369)
We don’t need pets to teleport. Ranger should learn to stow pet when they are not in use. This allow the pet to be at you side when you initiate combat. bind-able pet stow would help a lot.
Ranger are Ranger no other definition needed if you understand the word. Aargon from lord of the rings is a Ranger. Drittz Do’urden is a Ranger from the Dark elf trilogys and the forgotten realm. He often travels with an ethereal Jaguar. These two iconic figures are what Rangers in MMO are based on. WoW hunter is a distorted view of a ranger and as such is called a hunter not ranger.
I don’t doubt that you have put down many Rangers. Ranger have a very steep learning curve. PvPer have a tendence to dismiss a lot of skill because it isn’t optimal.
In only using a handful of skills traits you are very predictable. Predictable is the worst thing you can be in pvp.
I have a lvl 80 of every class and in the last 3 day I have been playing my warrior not because I enjoy it but because I am doing map completion.
As far as Entangle yes it’s not the best skill that doesn’t mean you cant make it work for the bleeds and the immobilize or to simple let them blow a dodge or clean so you can catch them with another attack.
I will take 5 ranger over 5 of any other class. A lot of the Ranger issue’s are a l2p issue not all of them.
Some of the people who complained about the 1h sword a year ago swear by it today. Those that have stuck with it mastered the weapon, others gave up and still complain.
Also I know for a fact that both your system and connection speed can majorly impact how efficient you are with it. So its not always just a l2p issue.
If you believe there is no hope for the class why continue to play it. There isn’t a class a ranger can’t beat. I don’t think there is a limit of how good you can play a Ranger it just takes longer. I do believe there is a limit for all other classes.
As a rangers we can apply bleeds by many means it is hard not to apply 25 stacks. Pet crit , your crit not including sigil crit. Fear will allow your target to turn turn his back on you. Jaguars can crit along while stealth. Pets that kd will allow you to position yourself while he’s down or throw entangle on him when hes face down.
Everyone thinks rangers just spam 111111. Its more than that. We are better than that. I am not in favor of anything that dumbs down the class.
How can one play a ranger and not have hope. Yes at first glance it seems that other classes have it better. They have it easier but not better. Classes like thieves have stealth and blind. After you learn to overcome these two things thieves are cake.
As Ranger we don’t have the ability to spam one or two types of mechanisms. This is a good thing. We have access to almost everything the others have. We can push we can pull, we can kd, we can fear, we can stealth. We can do this all in one build.
Gw2 is all about avoiding damage. To many of us are too focus on dealing damage. With above push, pulls etc not only are we not at predict able when avoiding the damge we are able to dish damage out at the same time.
Yes there are counter there are counter for everything but with a ranger you don’t have to put all your eggs in one basket and you always have other options.
So yes there is hope as ranger we need to really appreciate what we are capable of doing and not try to be like the other classes.
In dungeons people like stealth and ports with these and other ability that are desired in dungeons 9 times out of 10 they are making up for the short coming of players.
There is a steep learning curve for rangers many of the thing we complained about a year and a half ago are no longer real issue. Most of them were learn to play issue.
Those of us who have stopped and come back are having the same issue. While those of us who have been here since launch don’t view these issues in the same way.
Pet death: Those of us who have been here from the start and learned to keep our pets alive before the buff have very little issues since they have been buffed.
Pet aggo: Pet no long agro mobs on their own. Those of us that learned to manage out pet when the could agro don’t have issues of pet putting us in combat like new players do.
Some Rangers are asking if power build will ever be viable. From my view point power build have always been better of putting down targets. Condi is too slow imho yet they do offer a tiny bit more stability.
Wvw Ranger are great roamer and as for zerging we need to learn to pick our targets and manage our pets better.
Things I would like to see as a ranger is pet scaling with gear and a keybind for stowing as well as passive/guard.
Ranger by no means are underpowered. While you as a player may have problems verses one class there are 10 other rangers that have no problem with that same class.
Some classes are wanted for group stealthing in dungeons but honestly you don’t need the stealth if you simply learned to dodge. In most cases a lot of what other classes offer are covering the weakness in other players abilities.
There are some real benefits that are unique to some class but they are really situational.
all classes are stuck with their mechanism. Warriors don’t have an option to not build adrenaline yes they have passive effect that are there depending on adrenaline levels.
Ele don’t have an option to not use attunements one is always being use. How well you use your class mechanism is up to you.
Pets are one of our bigger strengths those that are unable to master pet usage have the biggest problems. The oldest of us have found the class to be strong. I don’t feel that ranger are weak I do feel some classes are a tad op.
Pets should not be perma stowed. I also feel that ranger don’t stow their pets enough.
Having your pet appear at your side as you enter combat puts them in perfect position to be effective rather then running up to the fight 10 seconds later.
Razer the makers of the razor naga have a free recorder bundle in their game
booster. One of the problems with recording sometimes is that you can lose some performance. With the booster you will see less performance issue if at all.
As it is now when doing content that requires range people do it with an afk mentality.
This is one of the reasons range damage performs so poorly.
At The Claw of Jormag few people build up might stack. They stand in the same spot taking all the damage.
In factal fighting the fire boss it is a must that you keep moving. That doesn’t mean that people must do it without buffing each other. While people rely on guardians to reflect it also makes them taking burning damage if they stand in place.
moving from left to right (or up and back or clockwise) as a group can allow players to combo and buff each other. To use ranger effectively require more understand of the content you are facing as well as more coordination.
People rely to much on verbal commination. Some of the most skill drill teams and strike team in the world rely on very little verbal communication.
But I guess that is beyond this post point is we need to optimize range combat as much as possible.
Ranger on teq can stand at max range and buff on another and end up doing more damage than if they would melee stack. Since they will never go do and they never have to dodge or worry about the watery grave attack.
While not necessarily true Ranger are view as the Ranged class. If anything is going to change in the way to tackle range combat I believe it ranger that will need to lead the way.
